This paper proposes 5-MS/s 10-bit digital-to-analog converter(DAC) with the improved linearity. The proposed DAC consists of a 10-bit R-2R-based DAC, an output buffer using a differential voltage amplifier with rail-to-rail input range, and a band-gap reference circuit for the bias voltage. The linearity of the 10-bit R-2R DAC is improved as the resistor of 2R is implemented by including the turn-on resistance of an inverter for a switch. The output voltage range of the DAC is determined to be $2/3{\times}VDD$ from an rail-to-rail output voltage range of the R-2R DAC using a differential voltage amplifier in the output buffer. The proposed DAC is implemented using a 1-poly 8-metal 130nm CMOS process with 1.2-V supply. The measured dynamic performance of the implemented DAC are the ENOB of 9.4 bit, SNDR of 58 dB, and SFDR of 63 dBc. The measured DNL and INL are less than +/-0.35 LSB. The area and power consumption of DAC are $642.9{\times}366.6{\mu}m^2$ and 2.95 mW, respectively.

Several algorithms have been developed to detect AFIB(Atrial Fibrillation) which either rely on the linear and frequency analysis. But they are more complex than time time domain algorithm and difficult to get the consistent rule of irregular RR interval rhythm. In this study, we propose algorithm for optimal value detection of irregular RR interval for AFIB classification based on linear analysis. For this purpose, we detected R wave, RR interval, from noise-free ECG signal through the preprocessing process and subtractive operation method. Also, we set scope for segment length and detected optimal value and then classified AFIB in realtime through liniar analysis such as absolute deviation and absolute difference. The performance of proposed algorithm for AFIB classification is evaluated by using MIT-BIH arrhythmia and AFIB database. The optimal value indicate ${\alpha}=0.75$, ${\beta}=1.4$, ${\gamma}=300ms$ in AFIB classification.

The HEMP threat may have acquired new, and urgent, relevance as the proliferation of nuclear weapons and missile technology accelerates of the North Korea, for example, is assessed as already having developed few atomic weapons, and is on the verge of North Korea already has missiles capable of delivering a nuclear warhead against South Korea. ITU K.78, K81 and IEC recommended its counter-measuring for the industrial facilities with navigation and sailing facilities in order to obviate the all of processor equipped system malfunctions from the EMP/HEMP but its simulation must only be done by the computer simulation which had studied on the 1960-1990 years USA/AFWL papers. This result has a significant activities to the South Korea being under the North Korea threat because all of HEMP related products was strongly limited for export. The HEMP cord which was developed newly by the KTI including the HEMP generation & propagation analysis, optimal shelter design tool, essential EM energy attenuation in multi-layered various soils and rocks and HEMP filter design tool. Especially, the least square fitting method was adopted to analysis for the EM energy attenuation in the soils and rocks because it has a various characteristics based on the many times field test reports.
An emotion-based video scene retrieval algorithm is proposed in this paper. First, abrupt/gradual shot boundaries are detected in the video clip representing a specific story Then, five video features such as 'average color histogram' 'average brightness', 'average edge histogram', 'average shot duration', and 'gradual change rate' are extracted from each of the videos and mapping between these features and the emotional space that user has in mind is achieved by an interactive genetic algorithm. Once the proposed algorithm has selected videos that contain the corresponding emotion from initial population of videos, feature vectors from the selected videos are regarded as chromosomes and a genetic crossover is applied over them. Next, new chromosomes after crossover and feature vectors in the database videos are compared based on the similarity function to obtain the most similar videos as solutions of the next generation. By iterating above procedures, new population of videos that user has in mind are retrieved. In order to show the validity of the proposed method, six example categories such as 'action', 'excitement', 'suspense', 'quietness', 'relaxation', 'happiness' are used as emotions for experiments. Over 300 commercial videos, retrieval results show 70% effectiveness in average.
A log is for text monitoring and perceiving the issues of a system during the development and operation of a program. Based on the log, system developers and operators can trace the cause of an issue. In the development phase, it is relatively simple for a log to be traced while there are only a small number of personnel uses of a system such as developers and testers. However, it is the difficult to trace a log when many people can use the system in the operation phase. In major cases, because a log cannot be tracked, even tracing is dropped. This study proposed a simplified tracing of a log during the system operation. Thus, the purpose is to create a log on the run time based on an ID/IP, using features provided by the Logback. It saves an ID/IP of the tracking user on a DB, and loads the user's ID/IP onto the memory to trace once WAS starts running. Before the online service operates, an Interceptor is executed to decide whether to load a log file, and then it generates the service requested by a certain user in a separate log file. The load is insignificant since the arithmetic operation occurs in a JVM, although every service must pass through the Interceptor to be executed.
Clustering is a useful technique for grouping data points such that points within a single group/cluster have similar characteristics. Many clustering algorithms have been developed and used in engineering applications including pattern recognition and image processing etc. Recently, it has drawn increasing attention as one of important techniques in data mining. However, clustering algorithms such as K-means and Fuzzy C-means suffer from difficulties. Those are the needs to determine the number of clusters apriori and the clustering results depending on the initial set of clusters which fails to gain desirable results. In this paper, we propose a new clustering algorithm, which solves mentioned problems. In our method we use evolutionary algorithm to solve the local optima problem that clustering converges to an undesirable state starting with an inappropriate set of clusters. We also adopt a new measure that represents how well data are clustered. The measure is determined in terms of both intra-cluster dispersion and inter-cluster separability. Using the measure, in our method the number of clusters is automatically determined as the result of optimization process. And also, we combine heuristic that is problem-specific knowledge with a evolutionary algorithm to speed evolutionary algorithm search. We have experimented our algorithm with several sets of multi-dimensional data and it has been shown that one algorithm outperforms the existing algorithms.
This paper proposes a restoration scheme based on mobility learning and prediction in the presence of the failure of mobility databases in mobile communication systems. In mobile communication systems, mobility databases must maintain the current location information of users to provide a fast connection for them. However, the failure of mobility databases may cause some location information to be lost. As a result, without an explicit restoration procedure, incoming calls to users may be rejected. Therefore, an explicit restoration scheme against the failure of mobility databases is needed to guarantee continuous service availability to users. Introducing mobility learning and prediction into the restoration process allows systems to locate users after a failure of mobility databases. In failure-free operations, the movement patterns of users are learned by a Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (NFIS). After a failure, an inference process of the NFIS is initiated and the users' future location is predicted. This is used to locate lost users after a failure. This proposal differs from previous approaches using checkpoint because it does not need a backup process nor additional storage space to store checkpoint information. In addition, simulations show that our proposal can reduce the cost needed to restore the location records of lost users after a failure when compared to the checkpointing scheme
A time-series database is a set of time-series data sequences, each of which is a list of changing values of the object in a given period of time. Subsequence matching is an operation that searches for such data subsequences whose changing patterns are similar to a query sequence from a time-series database. This paper addresses a performance issue of time-series subsequence matching. First, we quantitatively examine the performance degradation caused by the window size effect, and then show that the performance of subsequence matching with a single index is not satisfactory in real applications. We argue that index interpolation is fairly useful to resolve this problem. The index interpolation performs subsequence matching by selecting the most appropriate one from multiple indexes built on windows of their inherent sizes. For index interpolation, we first decide the sites of windows for multiple indexes to be built. In this paper, we solve the problem of selecting optimal window sizes in the perspective of physical database design. For this, given a set of query sequences to be peformed in a target time-series database and a set of window sizes for building multiple indexes, we devise a formula that estimates the cost of all the subsequence matchings. Based on this formula, we propose an algorithm that determines the optimal window sizes for maximizing the performance of entire subsequence matchings. We formally Prove the optimality as well as the effectiveness of the algorithm. Finally, we perform a series of extensive experiments with a real-life stock data set and a large volume of a synthetic data set. The results reveal that the proposed approach improves the previous one by 1.5 to 7.8 times.

Markerless tracking for augmented reality using Homography can augment virtual objects correctly and naturally on live view of real-world environment by using correct pose and direction of camera. The RANSAC algorithm is widely used for estimating Homography. CS-RANSAC algorithm is one of the novel algorithm which cooperates a constraint satisfaction problem(CSP) into RANSAC algorithm for increasing accuracy and decreasing processing time. However, CS-RANSAC algorithm can be degraded performance of calculating Homography that is caused by selecting feature points which estimate low accuracy Homography in the sampling step. In this paper, we propose feature point filtering method based on CS-RANSAC for efficient planar Homography estimating the proposed algorithm evaluate which feature points estimate high accuracy Homography for removing unnecessary feature point from the next sampling step using Symmetric Transfer Error to increase accuracy and decrease processing time. To evaluate our proposed method we have compared our algorithm with the bagic CS-RANSAC algorithm, and basic RANSAC algorithm in terms of processing time, error rate(Symmetric Transfer Error), and inlier rate. The experiment shows that the proposed method produces 5% decrease in processing time, 14% decrease in Symmetric Transfer Error, and higher accurate homography by comparing the basic CS-RANSAC algorithm.

Target detection and recognition problems, in which neural networks are widely used, require translation invariant and real-time processing in addition to the requirements that general pattern recognition problems need. This paper presents a novel architecture that meets the requirements and explains effective methodology to train the network. The proposed neural network is an architectural extension of the shared-weight neural network that is composed of the feature extraction stage followed by the pattern recognition stage. Its feature extraction stage performs correlational operation on the input with a weight kernel, and the entire neural network can be considered a nonlinear correlation filter. Therefore, the output of the proposed neural network is correlational plane with peak values at the location of the target. The architecture of this neural network is suitable for implementing with parallel or distributed computers, and this fact allows the application to the problems which require realtime processing. Net training methodology to overcome the problem caused by unbalance of the number of targets and non-targets is also introduced. To verify the performance, the proposed network is applied to detection and recognition problem of a specific automobile driving around in a parking lot. The results show no false alarms and fast processing enough to track a target that moves as fast as about 190 km per hour.
