Characteristics of the Spray Development with Diesel Fuel Temperatures (디젤 연료 온도에 따른 분무 발달 특성)

  • The characteristics of the fuel quantity, injection rate and macro spray development was investigated under a range of diesel fuel temperatures. The actual injection quantity decreased despite the same signal of the injection start and injection duration as the fuel temperature decreased. The injection rate measurements confirmed that the actual injection commencement was delayed and the actual injection duration was shortened under lower fuel temperature conditions, which explains why the injection quantity decreased. Spray tip penetration with a lower fuel temperature was longer than that with a higher fuel temperature due to the deteriorated atomization. As a pre-test for the combustion experiment under low temperature conditions, piston targeting with pilot injection was accomplished, which showed that the fuel droplet from pilot injection was introduced into the crevice area. This suggests that the pilot injection quantity and timing should be chosen with careful consideration for actual applications.

  • 금속분말을 청정 에너지원으로 이용하기 위해 금속분말 소형 연소기의 구현이 필요하다. 이를 위한 선행연구로 연료 공급 시스템인 핀틀인젝터형(pintle injector type) 금속분말 공급장치의 중요 성능인 분사량을 실험적으로 측정하였다. 분사량 측정 시험에 앞서 간단한 금속분말 공급 시험으로 확인된 문제점을 장치의 변경을 통해 해결하였다. 측정 시험의 결과, 연료 공급 장치에 이송 가스 압력이 상승함에 따라 많은 질유량의 금속분말이 분사되었고 압력에 따른 정량적 분사량을 확인하였다. 이송 가스와 금속분말의 혼합 성능을 개선하여 균일한 분사를 하고자 이송 가스를 25 Hz로 가진 하여 공급하였고 가진이 없는 경우의 실험결과와 비교하였다.

  • In order to investigate the effect of fuel injection hole configuration within the scramjet combustor, experiment and quasi-one-dimensional analysis was performed. And the results were compared with experiment and analysis result which were performed in 2008 with same facility and test condition. Fuel injection hole size was decreased and quantity was increased. However the depth of fuel penetration and fuel flow were maintained. As a test result, combustion performance was increased significantly with no-cavity injector and slightly with plain-cavity. However, combustion performance with zigzag-cavity was decreased.

Effect of fuel injection timing and pressure on the combustion and spray behavior characteristics of diesel fuel for naval vessel (연료분사시기와 압력이 함정용 디젤연료의 분무 및 연소특성에 미치는 영향)

  • The objective of this work focuses on the analysis of injection rate and macroscopic spray behavior characteristics with injection pressures as well as combustion and exhaust emission characteristics with injection timing and injection pressure by using a common rail single-cylinder diesel engine. The injection rate was measured by applying the Bosch method, and macroscopic spray behavior characteristics were analyzed with a constant-volume vessel and a high-speed camera. In addition, combustion and emission characteristics were analyzed in a common-rail single-cylinder diesel engine with precise control of fuel injection timing and pressure. For injection pressures of 30MPa and 50MPa, the injection rate was higher at 50 MPa, and the spray development (penetration) was also higher in the same elapsed time. The peak in-cylinder pressure and rate of heat release showed a tendency to decline as injection timing was delayed, and the peak in-cylinder pressure and rate of heat release were slightly higher for higher injection pressures. Higher injection pressures also reduced the mean effective pressure, while the indicated mean effective pressure and torque increased as injection timing was delayed to TDC. Nitrogen oxides had a peak level at injection timings of $BTDC20^{\circ}$(30MPa) and $BTDC15^{\circ}$(50MPa); carbon monoxide emissions were reduced by delaying injection timing from $BTDC30^{\circ}$.

  • 1982년 8월에 Toyota가 전자제어시스템을 갖춘 새로운 디이젤기관을 선보였다. 이 제어시스템 들은 연료의 분사량, 분사시간, 아이들링속도, 글로우 플러그(glow plug)전류 및 흡기량의 최적 제어를 할 수 있도록 하였다. 이로써 높은 기관성능, 즉 훌륭한 연료절약효과와 양호한 운전성 능에 기관의 소음이나 진동의 저감 등에 큰 이점들을 얻을 수 있게 된다.

  • The paper discussed the air-to-fuel ratio control of automotive fuel-injection systems using the cerebellar model articulation controller(CMAC) neural network. Because of the internal combustion engines and fuel-injection's dynamics is extremely nonlinear, it leads to the discontinuous of the fuel-injection and the traditional method of control based on table look up has the question of control accuracy low. The advantages about CMAC neural network are distributed storage information, parallel processing information, self-organizing and self-educated function. The unique structure of CMAC neural network and the processing method lets it have extensive application. In addition, by analyzing the output characteristics of oxygen sensor, calculating the rate of fuel-injection to maintain the air-to-fuel ratio. The CMAC may easily compensate for time delay. Experimental results proved that the way is more good than traditional for petrol control and the CMAC fuel-injection controller can keep ideal mixing ratio (A/F) for engine at any working conditions. The performance of power and economy is evidently improved.

액체 로켓용 2중 충돌(F-O-O-F)형 분사기의 미립화 특성에 관한 연구

  • 본 연구에서는 액체 로켓용 추진제 분사기로 많이 활용되는 충돌형 분사기중에서 2중 충돌(F-O-O-F)형 분사기에 대한 미립화 특성을 파악하였다. 액적의 크기를 측정하기 위하여 위상/도플러 입자분석기를 사용하였으며, 모의 추진제로 물을 사용하였다. 모의 추진제의 운동량비와 압력 강하량 변화에 따른 2중 충돌(F-O-O-F)형 분사기의 미립화 특성과 크기분포에 대하여 고찰하였다. 분사기 면으로부터 100mm 떨어진 단면에서 산화제/연료의 운동량비가 MR=1.19에서 MR=6.48까지 증가함에 따라 액적크기(SMD)는 감소하였으며, 액적크기(SMD)가 운동량비(MR)에 대하여 SMD= 193.480+15.687MR-5.036M$R^2$+0.415MR$^3$와 같은 관계식에 근사되었다 또한, 연료와 산화제의 압력강하량이 증가할수록 액적크기(SMD)가 감소하였다. 충돌 분무유동장의 액적크기 분포는 Rosin-Rammler 분포함수와 Upper-limit분포함수 모두에 대하여 잘 일치하고 있다. 본 연구의 결과는 액체 로켓용 충돌형 분사기의 초기 설계단계에서 유용하게 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • Natural gas is the world's most plentiful combustible fuel, abundantly acailable in all continent. A fuel injector designed specifically for low energy density gaseous fuels has been developed. The injector incorporates design features that are necessary to optimize the performance for fuels such as CNG, LNG. Gaseous fuel injectors have a decisive influence upon starting performance, driveability, fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. A gaseous fuel injector has been developed to cope with the considerably larger volume flow rates and the developed gaseous fuel injector could be used at heavy duty natural gas engine. The static flow of injectors at various inlet pressure was directly proportional and the controllability showed great performance.

대기오염 저감을 위한 차량연료의 최적연소 시스템 설계

  • 본 논문은 환경공해의 주범인 자동차의 매연을 감소할 수 있는 방법에 대한 연구이다. 자동차 매연의 주요원인은 연료의 불완전 연소와 연료 자체의 특성때문이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 가솔린/경유 차량을 CNG/LPG 차량으로 대체하고 CNG/LPG연료의 특성을 감안하여 연료의 공급과 분사량, 분사시간을 차량 ECU에서 보내지는 신호를 기본데이터로 차량의 가속과 감속 아이들 상태에서 차량을 적응적으로 최적화 할 수 있게 실시간으로 보정데이터를 계산한다. 본 논문의 결과로 기존의 구조변경차량의 출력에서 20%이상, 배기가스 에서 10% 이상의 향상되었다.
