Soft tissue collapse around prepared teeth and pontic is inevitable after removal of the provisional restoration during the impression taking procedures. When inserting gingival retraction cord, soft tissue is displaced to an undesired contour. Viscosity of impression material also causes gingival displacement. Therefore, the consideration to transfer the prosthetically contoured soft tissue to master cast is required, especially in the esthetic area. In this report, the methods to maintain the soft tissue contour and transfer to the mastercast will be introduced. Harmonious contour of the soft tissue can be achieved with provisional restoration and be transferred to the master cast with two different techniques mentioned in this case report.

In composite girders with steel embedded in concrete as preflex beams, horseshoe connectors and bar connectors are commonly used to achieve composite action. Considering the requirements on the concrete cover in the thin concrete part surrounding a steel member, it has limitations with respect to the use of stud shear connectors, and significant bond and friction resistance can be generated. High horizontal shear strength between the casing concrete and the steel section is needed to introduce prestress to the concrete section in the form of preflex beams.In this paper, experiments on the evaluation of the static strength of horseshoe connectors and bar connectors were conducted and the effects of bonds were also considered. Based on the test results, current design codes were estimated and more general design guidelines that consider the design concept of Eurocode were proposed for the connectors. A strength evaluation according to failure and compared with the test results.

The government-supported research institutes' system seems to face a turning point as the country's innovation system, shaped in the industrialization process, now reveals its own limitations. This makes the transformation of the innovation system unavoidable. Korea began to emerge as a leader in several technological areas including semiconductor, TFT-LCD, and handset, in a few cases even outpacing advanced countries. This has changed the very nature of the problems and questions to be resolved. This study analysed the structural limitations and challenges of government-supported research institutes focused ETRI. In a nutshell, The innovation system of government-supported research institutes seems to face a situation where the new innovation environment is conflicting and competing with the legacy of the past: governance, planning, budget, personnel, evaluation system. There are needs for change and thus tries to achieve a innovation system transition and build a new vision and management system including a new mode of working for post-catchup innovation.

In conjunction with securing R&D competitiveness through technology convergence, there is a growing interest in the strategy to derive innovation based on the measurement of convergence. In this paper, we present a data-based model that suggests convergence strategies for the research projects of government research institutes (GRIs) in Korea. The convergence characteristics of the research projects are represented by inherent attributes of technology and behavioral attributes of actors. The measuring process of the proxy variables (Rao-Stirling and Herfindahl-Hirschman Indices) for each attributes are proposed. These two indices are used to construct the convergence diagram, through which the research projects of GRIs are distributed into four areas: AllianceIntra, Alliance-Inter, Competition, Mission-Oriented. Based on the convergence diagram proposed in this study the convergence index is measured to derive 30 convergence research areas of GRIs. As a result, we expect to provide appropriate guidelines for setting the policy direction of the convergence research projects.

This study analyze the relationship between S&T policy and the R&D performance plans of GRIs which lack relevant research through quantitative information analysis. KISTI which is focused on the case is an ICT-based GRI that is sensitive to changes in the internal and external environment, and the impact of government S&T policy changes on KISTI's R&D performance plans was analyzed in depth.

This paper deals with the shear capacity of corrugated rib as the shear connector in composite structures. Corrugated rib is modified as perfobond rib shear connector type to evaluate the shear capacity. A total 12 push-out specimens with stud, perfobond rib, and corrugated rib connector were fabricated. Then, the influences of hole-crossing bars, concrete dowel, depth of corrugated panel and height of rib on the shear capacity were evaluated experimentally. As the results of these tests, the failure mechanisms of corrugated rib and perfobond rib specimens were associated with the bearing failure of the concrete slabs, but the failure of weld zone did not occur. The shear capacity of corrugated rib specimens improved as high to 96% compared to the perfobond rib shear connectors. Also, the hole-crossing bars were effective on the improvement of concrete dowel action, and consequently, shear capacity increased by 48%. It was also proven that the increment of the depth of corrugated panel and the height of rib increased the concrete bearing resistance, therefore increasing the shear capacity.

앞에서 임프란트 주변 연조직의 형태를 작업모형에서 재현하기 위한 몇가지 방법을 살펴 보았다. 심미성이 점차 강조되고 있는 추세에 비추어 단순하게 치아의 심미성 보다는 전반적으로 연조직과 경조직이 잘 조화되는 수복물이 요구되고 있다. 잘 만들어진 작업모형은 좀 더 심미적이고 안정된 결과를 얻을 수 있도록 도움이 될 것이다.
