  • 본 연구는 범주와 현대의 주요 문헌분류표의 주류선정에 있어서의 상관성에 대해 규명해보고자 한다. 이를 위해 먼저, 범주의 유래와 의미를 알아보고 철학적 관점, 논리학적 관점, 문헌정보학 관점에서 범주가 어떤 기능을 하고 어떠한 유형이 있는지 논하였다. 다음으로 문헌분류의 주류선정이 어떻게 이루어지고, 범주가 어떻게 적용되었는지 그 상관성에 대해서 분석하였다.

Feature Analysis of Chinese Library Classification(5th Edition) (중국도서관분류법 제5판의 특성 분석)

  • The Chinese Library Classification(CLC) is the most widely used national standard classification system in China. Since the first edition of CLC in 1975, the 5th edition of CLC was published in 2010. It was the result of an average of 9 years of revision for each edition. This study investigated CLC focusing on the formational background and developmental process of CLC, and characteristics and revision details of CLC's 5th edition. Because Korea has been close cultural relationship with China for a long time, this study will provide implications on Korean Decimal Classification(KDC) development.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a faceted classification scheme linked with a thesaurus(FCT) to more effectively organize documents according to subject, by transforming the current Korean Decimal Classification system(KDC) into a faceted classification scheme and linking it with Korea’s National Library Subject Headings. This combination should represent complex subjects more clearly, allow users to change citation order, and facilitate the addition of new subjects to the KDC scheme. Furthermore, by linking a thesaurus to the classification scheme, it is possible to share facets and expand the conceptual level of headings through the thesaurus descriptors.

Redesigning Retention Schedules for Accurate Documentation of Government Activities (공공업무의 체계적 기록화를 위한 보유일정표 설계 방안)

  • Retention schedule is the most essential tool for accurate documentation of government activities. The purpose of this study is to provide a guideline for redesigning retention schedules to support systematic documentation of government activities, that can replace the existing retention schedule ('bunryukijunpyo'). This present paper begins with articulating the role of retention schedules in life cycle management of records based on ISO 15489. And it compares and analyses 'disposal authorities' of Australia, 'records schedules' of United States. and the existing records retention schedules of Korea, in terms of types, structure and components of retention schedules. Based on these analyses, it suggests directives to redesign the retention schedules at the state level.

The Methods for the Improvement of the KDC 5th Edition of Architecture Engineering Classification System (KDC 제5판 건축공학분야 분류체계 개선 방안)

  • This study is intended to present methods improving the classification system of KDC architecture engineering fields after comparing and analyzing the academic system of architecture engineering, classification system of KDC, DDC, and LCC, and that of the research field classification system of National Research Foundation of Korea. The results of the analysis have revealed that it is required to improve and correct the KDC 5th edition of architectural engineering including the addition of classification items that reflect the trend of academic development, proper development in the rank classification terms of architectural structure engineering, addition of detailed subjects, selection of proper classification terms, errors of classification symbols and English expression, and omission of correlative indexes in the classification items. This study has proposed improved methods to solve those problems.

  • The purposes of this study are to review characteristics and research areas of environmental studies; to compare and analyze environmental studies in research classifications and Korean societies from Korea Research Foundation(KRF) as well as decimal classification systems such as KDC, DDC, NDC and to suggest several modifications for environmental studies in KDC for the next edition. First of all, environmental philosophy, environmental sociology, environmental education, environmental toxicology, environmental architecture, and environmental geography are suggested to add to the main schedule in KDC and -0276 green technology(environmental technology) is suggested to add to Table 1. Standard subdivision. And new classification numbers for environmental law and environmental public administration are suggested in law and public administration.

  • Ministry of Science and Technology(MOST) has a plan to establish the National Science and Technology Information System(NTIS). For successful NTIS, there are three pre-standardizations. Standard classification is the one of the three standardizations. In this paper, the validity of current National Standard Classification of Science and Technology(NSCST) is analyzed for three aspects. One is the duplication of NSCST, one another is the high ratio of incorrectness of information changed by mapping table and the last is the incorrectness of the mapping table itself. So for the successful NTIS a new Science and Technology Classicication shoud be considered.

Suggesting a Plan of Tables of Preference for KDC4 (한국십진분류법의 우선순위표 설정에 관한 연구)

  • This study suggests a plan of tables of deference for Korean Decimal Classification, 4th edition, based on the study on those in Dewey Decimal Classification, 21st edition. It suggests two tables for the Auxiliary Tables, one for standard subdivisions and one for subdivisions for literature. Twenty-two tables are suggested for the Schedule of ten main classes.
