An analysis on stability of riprap considering hydraulic characteristics of flow around joint revetment (연결호안 주변 흐름의 수리적 특성을 고려한 사석호안의 안정성 분석)

  • In joint portions of the levee and the barrier, complex 3-dimensional flow was generated and collapse of revetment occurred frequently. For these reasons, it is necessary to install the joint revetment with greater stability as compared with the general revetment at the joint portions. However, design criteria for joint revetment was not presented in River Design Criteria (KWRA, 2009). Therefore it is necessary to research for engineering design of the joint revetment. In this study, hydraulic experiments were performed under various flow conditions in order to realize the collapse conditions of riprap and carried out in 20.0 m straight open channel with one side levee and the width was 4.0 m. The diameter of riprap covered around joint revetment was 0.03 m and the inlet discharges were $0.5{\sim}0.8m^3/s$. The numerical simulations were performed under same conditions with experiment. as results of this numerical simulations, the influence range was confirmed from the distribution of flow characteristics and shear stress. As a result, the riprap diameter of the joint revetment was calculated from 4.1 to 6.9 times greater than that of general revetment. As the inlet discharge was large, the range of vulnerable area was developed long in the downstream direction despite of same withdrawal velocity of riprap. Through this study, the methods of calculating the riprap diameter and influence range were proposed according to hydraulic characteristics of flow around joint revetment. At a later study, if additional experiments about effect of flood plane and various types of barrier is applied, it is expected that rational design method with stability of joint revetment can be proposed.

Model Development Determining Probabilistic Ramp Merge Capacity Including Forced Merge Type (강제합류 형태를 포함한 확률적 연결로 합류용량 산정 모형 개발)

  • Over the decades, a lot of studies have dealt with the traffic characteristics and phenomena at a merging area. However, relatively few analytical techniques have been developed to evaluate the traffic flow at the area and, especially, the ramp merging capacity has rarely been. This study focused on the merging behaviors that were characterized by the relationship between the shoulder lane flow and the on-ramp flow, and modeled these behaviors to determine ramp merge capacity by using gap acceptance theory. In the process of building the model, both an ideal mergence and a forced mergence were considered when ramp-merging vehicles entered the gap provided by the flow of the shoulder lane. In addition, the model for the critical gap was proposed because the critical gap was the most influential factor to determine merging capacity in the developed models. The developed models showed that the merging capacity value was on the increase as the critical gap decreased and the shoulder lane volume increased. This study has a meaning of modeling the merging behaviors including the forced merging type to determine ramp merging capacity more precisely. The findings of this study would help analyze traffic phenomena and understand traffic behaviors at a merging area, and might be applicable to decide the primary parameters of on-ramp control by considering the effects of ramp merging flow.

가스안전 - 빌트인 연소기 설치기준

  • 최근 국민소득 증가와 주거환경의 변화로 주방의 편의성 및 미관을 위해 빌트인 연소기(주방가구 안에 일체로 설치된 연소기) 설치가 증가하고 있다. 하지만 빌트인 구조로 연소기를 설치할 경우 연소기와 호스의 접속부분은 은폐구조로 되어있어 일상점검이 불가능함에 따라 안전관리상 문제가 발생하고 있다. 이에 따라 한국가스안전공사는 지난 2011년 5월 연결부분 점검기준을 KGS코드로 제정 시행하고 있으나 점검구를 '연소기와 호스 연결부 부근'이 아닌 다른 곳에 뚫거나, 미관상의 이유로 막아버리는 경우가 있어 여전히 안전관리에 많은 문제가 발생하고 있다. 따라서 한국가스안전공사는 빌트인 연소기 내부 가스 체류로 인한 폭발사고 방지를 위해 '빌트인 연소기 설치기준'을 보급하고 있다.

  • 일반 병렬처리 시스템(General Purpose Multiprocessors) 과는 달리, 병렬 트랜잭션(Transaction)처리 시스템의 성능은 메모리의 계층구조와 입출력 시스템의 구조 등에 크게 영향을 받는 특징을 갖는다. 본 논문은 입출력 노드의 성능 분석에 주안점을 두고 전체 시스템에서의 입출력 노드의 개수, 병렬 디스크의 개수 및 상호연결망(Interconnection Network)과의 접속을 제공하는 스위치의 처리 용량 등의 인수들이 SPAX 병렬 트랜잭션 처리 시스템의 성능에 미치는 영향에 대한 분석 내용을 기술한다. 본 연구에서는 벤치마크로는 병렬 트랜잭션 시스템의 성능 평가에 주로 사용되고 있는 TPC-C 벤치마크를 사용하며 모의 입력(Synthetic workload)을 통한 성능분석을 수행하였다. 본 연구는 입출력 노드에 부하가 많이 걸릴 경우 패킷을 크리에 따라 시스템의 성능에 큰 영향을 미치며, 반면에 입출력노드내의 상호연결망의 접속을 제공하는 XNIF 의 데이터 버퍼 개수의 증가는 시스템의 성능 향상에 전혀 기여를 하지 않음을 보여준다. 이는 시스템의 성능향상을 위해서는 패킷 전송 경로상의 모든 시스템 요소의 성능 향상이 병행되어야 함을 보여준다. 마지막으로는 프로세싱노드와 입출력노드의 처리능력의 균형이 병렬 트랜잭션시스템의 설계에 있어서 매우 중요하다는 점을 보여준다.

Analysis of Monitored Insulation Data Using Standard Deviation of Leakage Current Data in High-Power Cables at a Thermoelectric Power Station (화력발전소 고전력 케이블의 누설 전류 측정 데이터의 표준 편차값을 사용한 절연감시 데이터 분석)

  • From the instant of installation and operation, power cables start deteriorating. Cable systems can be maintained not only by monitoring the insulation status of the insulation layer and oversheath, but also the insulation status of the terminal and junction in high-voltage power cables. When the cable system (the cable itself and cable junctions combined) deteriorates, fire accidents happen due to dielectric breakdowns. We have invented a device to monitor the deteriorating status of cables, and installed it at Korea Western Power Co. Ltd. located in Taean, Chungcheongnam-do Province. In this paper, we present the results obtained using our device, through analysing and calculating the standard deviation of leakage current from cable insulators attached to the cables. When the standard deviation of analysed leakage current falls below a critical value, a cable system is deemed to be operating safely. But when the standard deviation of analysed leakage current is larger than the critical value, the insulation status of the terminal and junction in the cable system is considered to have seriously deteriorated. The terminal and junction in the relevant system should then be replaced preemptively in order to prevent blackout accidents of cables caused by the suspension of power supply.

  • There has been a gradual increase in the demand for the electric power in Korea. In order to meet the demand, power station should have technical functions with increased effectiveness. When accident happens in electric machinery at power stations, huge amount of economic losses and mulfunction of equipments occur. One of the accidents is a deteriorated cables operating power stations. In order to prevent cable accident in advance, we should monitor the insulation status of the cable. Cable accidents are resulting from the junctions. We have developed and installed a device in order to identify the status of junction part of power cable at Korea Western Power Co., Ltd.. We performed an accurate diagnosis for the stable utilization of junctions where the accidents occurs most frequently, and to increase the reliability. In this paper, we present the concepts of our device and the method of monitoring diagnosis for the stable use of junctions at cables predicting the life time of cables by analyzing the data obtained by the device. We also present the hardware aspect of the device we have developed.

  • The temperature monitoring of power cable and cable junction point is the necessary link of the safe and reliable operation of the power system. Many kinds of cables and high voltage junction points are easy to exposed continuous vibrations and momentary impulse in industry field especially power plant industries. This system can predict the overheating of the electric cable interface and the possibility of all kinds of accident, and it helps for eliminating the hazards of electric cable interface and provides the effective guarantee for the safety operation. In order to avoid the faults of the inconvenience of installation and maintenance and the high cost of application, this system used small and contactless IR sensor module. The low power consumption is used in the system. The goal of this study is the low cost and on-line reliable monitoring of power cable and junction point temperature.

Construction of Speed Predictive Models on Freeway Ramp Junctions with 70mph Speed Limit (70mph 제한속도를 갖는 고속도로 연결로 접속부상에서의 속도추정모형에 관한 연구)

  • From the traffic analysis, and model constructions and verifications for speed prediction on the freeway ramp junctions with 70mph speed limit, the following results were obtained : ⅰ) The traffic flow distribution showed a big difference depending on the time periods. Especially, more traffic flows were concentrated on the freeway junctions in the morning peak period when compared with the afternoon peak period. ⅱ) The occupancy distribution was also shown to be varied by a big difference depending on the time periods. Especially, the occupancy in the morning peak period showed over 100% increase when compared with the 24hours average occupancy, and the occupancy in the afternoon peak period over 25% increase when compared with the same occupancy. ⅲ) The speed distribution was not shown to have a big difference depending on the time periods. Especially, the speed in the morning peak period showed 10mph decrease when compared with the 24hours'average speed, but the speed did not show a big difference in the afternoon peak period. ⅳ) The analyses of variance showed a high explanatory power between the speed predictive models(SPM) constructed and the variables used, especially the upstream speed. ⅴ) The analysis of correlation for verifying the speed predictive models(SPM) constructed on the ramp junctions were shown to have a high correlation between observed data and predicted data. Especially, the correlation coefficients showed over 0.95 excluding the unstable condition on the diverge section. ⅵ) Speed predictive models constructed were shown to have the better results than the HCM models, even if the speed limits on the freeway were different between the HCM models and speed predictive models constructed.
