대한출판문화협회(회장 김낙준)가 선정하는 '이 달의 청소년도서' 92년 6-7월분으로 다음 9종(9책)의 도서가 선정됐다. 분야별로는 철학(1종) 문학(4종) 과학(2종) 역사(2종). 재단법인 한국출판금고(이사장 정진숙)는 총 9백여만원의 예산을 들여 선정도서 1종당 300부씩을 구입, 전국 각 지방의 공공도서관 132곳을 비롯, 청소년 선도기관.소년원.지방문화원 등 300곳에 기증했다.

이제 우리는 전문인으로서의 도덕적 가치체계를 확립하고 행동의 지향점을 명백히 정립할 수 있는 지표를 갖게 되었다. 1997년 10월 30일 한국도서관협회가 주관하는 제 35차 전국도서관대회에서 '도서관인윤리선언'이 채택되고 만인이 지켜보는 가운데 공식적인 선포식을 갖게 됨으로 역사상 최초로 우리의 덕목과 행위지표가 창제된 것이다. 주문(主文) 7개조항과 28개 행위지표로 설정된 이 윤리선언은 도서관인의 존재양식을 극명하게 부각한 것이며 시대가 부과하고 있는 임무를 적극 수용하려는 결연한 의지가 담겨 있다. 선언문의 기본 개념은 한국의 사회적 현실이, 그리고 도서관이 처하고 있는 여건이 개선되고 시정되지 않으면 않되며, 그 일차적 책무는 우리 도서관인에게 있다는 것이다.

저무는 69년과 더불어 60년대를 보내게 되었다. 우리 나라에 있어 60년대는 번영을 위한 자각과 격동, 그리고 진보의 토대를 다지는 때였다고 생각한다. 또한 우리 도서관계는 1956년경 근대적인 도서관학이 도입된 이래 15,6년의 세월이 흘렀고, 그동안 여러 가지 일들을 하고 또 자라 왔다. 따라서 우리관계는 우리의 자세와 방향조차 미처 가늠하지 못하든 초창기의 몇 해를 제하면 60년대는 우리네 역사의 전부인 것도 사실이라고 하겠다. 또한 우리의 희망과 목표를 향한 몸부림의 전부였다고 생각한다. 그런 의미에서 60년대를 회고하고,공과를 반성 정리해 보고 그리고 앞으로 몇날 후에 닥쳐올 70년대를 어떻게 맞을 것인가를 모색해 보는 것은 대단히 바람직한 일이라고 생각한다

지난해에는 문화관광부의 '도서관정보화추진계획' 발표, '학교도서관살리기국민연대'의 결성, '문화개혁을 위한시민연대'의 도서관 자료구입비 증액 캠페인, 남ㆍ북도서관협회 대표단의 역사적인 회합 등 도서관발전을 위한 각계 각층의 관심이 활발했던 한 해 였다. 하지만 '저작권법시행령' 개정공표로 도서관에서의 복제전송 문제가 불거지고 '도서관및독서진흥법'의 개정으로 '도서관및독서진흥위원회'와 '도서관및독서진흥기금'이 폐지되어 도서관계를 안타깝게 하기도 하였다. 그 어느때보다도 도서관의 사회적 역할이 증대되고 있는 지금, 우리 도서관계 각 단체의 올 한해 각오와 사업방향 등을 알아보았다. 편집자 주

오프셋인쇄의 여러 가지 장점으로 인해 활판인쇄는 역사의 뒤안길로 나앉고 말았다. 이제는 그 명맥을 유지하는데도 힘이 부치지만 그나마 완전히 사라지지 않고 가쁜 숨이나마 쉬고 있는 것은 도서출판 통나무와 같은 출판사가 있기 때문이다. 통나무는 오랜 기간 활판인쇄를 고집해오다가 활자제조 및 조판이 어렵게 돼 이제는 새롭게 발간하는 책은 오프셋인쇄를 하고 있지만 그래도 지형이 남아있는 책에 대해서만큼은 끝까지 활판인쇄를 고수해오고 있다. 활판인쇄가 사라져가고 있음을 누구보다 아쉬워하고 있는 도서출판 통나무의 남호섭대표를 만나 활판인쇄에 대한 견해를 들어보았다.

This study researches the relationship between the Folk houses in Heung Yang-islands and the Ulleung-island Folk Houses in Modern Age. Fork houses reflect cultural and geographical features synthetically and concretely. Fork houses contain the thoughts of residents and have been built rationally and economically, therefore studying fork houses is a very meaningful task. This study has a focus on the elements which influenced fork houses of Ulleungdo at the time when fork houses were constructed officially. There have been studies on fork houses of Ulleungdo limited in embrasive characteristics, space construction and arrangement. So, the purpose of this study is to investigate about the element and background of Ulleung-island Folk Houses in Modern Age.

The loss of book happens not only from natural disaster but from mostly humans improper intention to acquire without proper consideration of ethnic standards. We occasionally have difficulty in differentiating between stealing and toying books since it is often called the basic instinct to possess the books. It is however absolutely illegal to take books belong to others without permission due to one's pure love towards books, passion to possession, or innate instinct. In this study, we define the definition of book theft and classify the cases of historically well-known book theft. It then states the book plunder cases of Nazi with the abuse of public powers, Libri, and Blumberg in terms of quantity and methods as a history of library.

경제한파 속에서 영화서 출판이 조금씩 회복세를 보이고 있는 가운데, 영화를 통한 역사읽기가 활발해지고 있다. 영화관객의 수준을 높이는 데 이들 영화도서의 문자적 세례가 기여할 수 있음은 명백하다.

This article intends to discuss about the strategies and methods that the Korean library community should follow to make the ongoing experiment of 'bibliotherapy program' be successful, and eventually, settle up as a regular library service program. The main focus of discussion was on figuring out both theoretical foundations and historical roots that can justify such an experiment in Korean libraries. To the end, a comparative analysis to Readers' Advisory Services was conducted, and also done for comparing the special features in Korean libraries with those of American libraries, especially as related to library services to readers. The final suggestion includes the tasks that Korean LIS scholars should undertake to make the ongoing bibliotherapy experiment become an indigenous Korean model for library services.

Chosundoseohaeje, a book type catalog was published three times under the rule of Japanese imperialism. This catalog has several characteristics of modem catalog as fellows : First, each record of this catalog includes title, volume no., statements of responsibility, printing type, annotated bibliography containing date, author, background, structure, contents of the book, and biographies. Second, this catalog has a subject retrieval system by the four-part classification(Kyung, Sa, Ja, Jib), title retrieval system by Japanese alphabetical index, and authorㆍeditor retrieval system by their family name index or king's name index. Third, this catalog has a system indicating the location of described books by Gyujanggak book numbers.
