It is said that mathematics is neutral and free from any thought. But the history of mathematics refuses it. This paper aims to investigate modernism and postmodernism in mathematics and to scrutinize them. For this, first modernism is characterized by concentrating on Descartes' philosophy, and next postmodern view which criticizes modernism is discussed. Finally it is claimed that mathematical realism and postmodernism can be comparable in different dimensions.

We still do not know against what histocial/philosophical background and motivation was Tarski's definition of logical consequence introduced, even if it has had such a strong influence. In view of the centrality of the notion of logical consequence in logic and philosophy of logic, it is rather shocking. There must be various intertwined reasons to blame for this uncomfortable situation. There has been remarkable progress achieved recently on the history of analytic philosophy and modern logic. In view of the recent developments of the controversies involved, however, we will have to wait years to resolve all this uneasiness. In this gloomy situation, Douglas Patterson's recent study of Tarski's philosophy of language and logic seems to have the potential to turn out to be a ground breaking achievement. [Patterson (2012)] This article aims at reporting the state-of-the-art in this problem area, and fathoming the future directions of research by examining critically some unclear components of Patterson's study.

균열(crack)을 갖는 부재의 강도를 평가할 때에 있어서 응력확대계수를 이용하는 데에 대한 합 리성은 현재까지 의심할 여지없는 사실로서 받아들여지고 있다. 그 근거는 소규모 항복의 조건이 만족되고 있을 때에는 균열의 치수가 틀리더라도 균열선단부근의 역학적 상태는 응력확대계수 만에 의해 지배된다는 사실에 있다. 한편, 노치(notch)를 갖는 부재의 강도를 평가할 때에 최대 응력만을 고려하는 것은 불충분하다. 예를 들면, 그것은 노치반경 .rho.가 10 mm 정도의 노치와 .rho.가 0에 상당하는 균열과는 최대응력 .sigma.$_{max}$를 같게 하더라도 역학적 상태의 가 혹함(severity)이 동일하게 되지 않는다는 사실로부터도 명백하다. 그렇다면, .rho.가 0과 10 mm의 중간값, 예를 들면 1 mm 혹은 0.1 mm일 때와 같은 역학적 상태의 가혹함이 생기기 위해서는 .sigma.$_{max}$가 얼마이면 될까\ulcorner 또는, 만약 .rho.가 틀릴 때, 동일한 현상(same phenomenon)이 생기지 않는다고 한다면 그것은 어떠한 물리적 배경에 근거한 것일까\ulcorner 이글에 서는 이러한 질문에 대한 해답과 함께 선형파괴역학과 선형노치역학이 생겨나게 된 간략한 역사적 배경과 선형노치역학의 개념에 대해 언급하기로 한다.

산업화로 특징되는 사회변동과 전통사회로부터 근대사회로 변화하는 역사적 배경을 주축으로 하는 한국사회의 거시적 맥락이 가족내 청소년 발달이라는 미시적 과정에 어떻게 관련되는가를 탐색해보는 시도로서 핵가족화와 가치관 변화가 청소년 발달에 미치게 되는 영향을 논의하였다 핵가족화는 단순한 가족형태상의 변화로서 청소년 발달에 관련되기 보다 는 산업화 과정에서 다른 가족구상의 변화와 맞물려 청소년 발달에 긍정적 또는 부정적 측 면에서 검토되어야 함을 강조한다 가족가치관의 변화를 역사적 맥락에서 이해하면서 전통적 집단주의 기능성이 이기적가족주의로 변용되어 청소년 발달에 미치ㅔ 되는 역기능적 실상이 학문적 노력과 정책적 주도하에 극복되어야 함을 시사한다.

In archival discourse, social memory has been discussed for some time. Despite this, however, theoretical studies have not been prolific at all in the Korean archival community. Many Western scholars have argued that archivists should consider memory rather than records for archival preservation because the inclusiveness of the former will fill the gaps in the latter. Social memory that is shared and transmitted across generations in society would include the stories of marginalized groups of people who are often neglected in official documents. Archivists can reconstruct the diverse narratives of a variety of social groups based on social memory, and this would be their social responsibility. In this sense, it is archivists who exercise power regarding how history will be written in the future because they determine what would be preserved in archives: mainstream culture with official records or a broader spectrum of diverse stories of people in society. From this perspective, this paper intends to understand how memory is discussed in archival discourse and to review how archives and history are associated with memory in theories and practices.

지르코니아는 물리적 성질이 금속과 가장 가까운 세라믹이며, 색상이 치아와 비슷하여 치과분야에서 사용빈도가 증가하고 있는 재료이다. 지르코니아는 zirconium dioxide 결정체로서, 1975년 Garvie가 'ceramic steer' 이라고 명명하였듯이 기존의 세라믹과 비교하여 뛰어난 물성을 지니고 있다. 즉, 높은 내열성과 낮은 열전도도, 산성에서 알카리성까지 이르는 내화학 안정성, 낮은 열팽창성, 높은 강도 및 경도, 내마모성을 가지고 있기 때문에 이전부터 공업용 재료로 넓게 시용되어 왔다. 지르코니아의 상변 이를 이용한 toughening방법이 Garvie에 의해 제시됨으로서 세라믹의 최대 단점인 취성은 어느 정도 극복할 수 있게 되었고 이를 계기로 금관 및 계속가공 의치, 임플란트 지대주, 인레이, 온레이 등 치과의 여러 분야에 지르코니아를 적용할 수 있게 되었다. 최근에는 임플란트 매식체에 있어서도 그 적용을 시도함으로서 심미치과치료에 있어서 중요한 부분으로 자리 잡고 있다. 현재 지르코니아는 치과용 세라믹 중에서 가장 높은 기계적 물성을 보이기 때문에 구치부 에서의 사용 가능성이 시도되고 있으며, 코어의 두께를 감소시킴으로써 보철 술식에서 필요한 강도 및 심미성 두 마리 토끼를 잡을 수 있도록 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 이에 지르코니아의 역사 및 이론적 배경에 대하여 알아보고자 한다.

적률법(method of moment)이란 변수 X의 멱승에대한 기대치를 이용하여 분포의 성질을 알아보는 방법이다. 여기서 적률법이 이용되어진 역사적 배경을 소개하고, 3차 적률들의 선형적 성질을 비교하였다. 먼저, Kagan이 입증한 표본평균에 관한 3차 표본적률의 선형적 성질과 Bayesian 경우에 3차 사후적률(posterior moment)과 사후평균(posterior)의 선형성을 소개하였다. 그리고, 자연지수족(natural exponential family)아래서도 표본평균에 관한 3차 표본적률의 선형성을 알아보기 위해 단순함수(simple function)의 형태로 유도하였으며, 정규분포인 경우에 적용시켜 보았다.
