  • The purpose of this study is to find out how college students overseas field trip group's social network exist, how the network change during the travel period, and how they are related to trip satisfaction, school involvement and peer relations. College students have an unprecedented school adaptation problem, which is questioning college education practices and measure should be taken. Since travel provides a strong bond with the group of participants, in a similar vein, students' overseas trips are also assumed to strengthen solidarity of students. For 31 trip participants, survey was administered to find out the existence of a distinctive network structure, its changes, and its impact on related variables. First, the network structure of the field trip existed explicitly, in which student representatives held their position in degree centrality. Second, network structure has changed before and after the trip, which is due to the social interaction between participants. Third, the effect on trip performance variables was marginal, even if some participants move to centrality. Forth, field trip satisfaction, school involvement, and peer relations were significant correlated. At the end of the paper, the implications and limitations of the study were included.

In the fierce competition, this emerging market can serve as a lucrative target market for tourism & travel industry in Korea. In addition, using tourism for the aged as a social welfare policy can be a potentially viable means to mitigate the increase social pressure due to rapid population aging. In light of the results, practical implications for marketing and policy-making were presented in detail.

The main purpose of this study was to identify significant service factors at the cruise ship port that have an influence on cruise tourists' satisfaction and loyalty in Jeju Island. To achieve the study purpose, a structured survey questionnaire was developed on the basis of reviewing related literatures. The survey was conducted through personal interviews at the Jeju Cruise Ship Port. In total, 386 useable samples were collected during the period from September 11 to October 29, 2012. • This study analyzed valid samples of 707 units collected by conducting paper and online surveys on the Korean, the Chinese, the American, and the Japanese. The result showed that a significant causal relationship exists between power distance and pull motivation as well as collectivism and push motivation, which led to a conclusion that developing travel packages that can strengthen bonding of fraternal societies through various events and attractions is effective for respondents from Asian countries. On the other hand, Americans turned out to prefer practical plans, which could provide individual's needs and preferences, for example, a self-healing package. This study, using a simple survey, may have a limitation in that it does not allow the participants to express their opinions. However, the study is meaningful that it made a theoretical contribution utilizing Hofstede's cultural dimensions index, two types of motivation, and theories of customer satisfaction and revisit intention. It also has a practical implication in that it proposes the most optimal and applicable overseas travel marketing strategy by comparing cultural traits of each country.
