Structural, optical, and electrical properties on Cu(In,Ga)$Se_2$ thin-films with Cu-defects and In/(In+Ga) ratio (Cu(In,Ga)$Se_2$ 박막의 Cu 결함 및 In, Ga 비율의 변화에 따른 구조적, 광학적, 전기적 특성 연구)

  • We report on a direct measurement of two-dimensional chemical and electrical distribution on the surface of photovoltaic Cu(In,Ga)$Se_2$ thin-films using a nano-scale spectroscopic and electrical characterization, respectively. The Raman measurement reveals non-uniformed surface phonon vibration which comes from different compositional distribution and defects in the nature of polycrystalline thin-films. On the other hand, potential analysis by scanning Kelvin probe force microscopy shows a higher surface potential or a small work function on grain boundaries of the thin-films than on the grain surfaces. This demonstrates the grain boundary is positively charged and local built-in potential exist on grain boundary, which improve electron-hole separation on grain boundary. Local electrical transport measurements with scanning probe microscopy on the thin-films indicates that as external bias is increases, local current is started to flow from grain boundary and saturated over 0.3 V external bias. This accounts for carrier behavior in the vicinity of grain boundary with regard to defect states. We suggest that electron-hole separation at the grain boundary as well as chemical and electrical distribution of polycrystalline Cu(In,Ga)$Se_2$ thin-films.

  • 낙차공(drop structure)은 치수목적의 하천정비를 위한 주요 수공구조물이다. 하지만 국내외적으로 환경을 고려한 하천공법이 요구되면서 고낙차로 인해 발생하는 수중생물의 단절은 기존 낙차공의 큰 문제로 대두되었다. 이에 기존 고낙차를 이용한 낙차공 보다는 완만한 경사를 가지는 낙차공을 설치함으로써 기존 낙차공에 의해 단절되었던 어류의 이동통로로서의 역할과 주변 경관개선을 위해 설치하고 있는 구조물이 필요하였다. 본 연구는 위와 같은 필요성에서 시작되었으며 완경사 낙차공을 경사형 낙차공이라 정의하고 조건에 따른 흐름특성을 수리실험을 통해 분석하였다. 연구내용은 경사형 낙차공의 경사조건과 하상재료의 입경에 따라 발생하는 에너지 소산에 따른 효율과 구조물 하류부 도수현상에 대한 것으로 이를 통해 경사형 낙차공 조건에 따른 흐름특성을 파악하였다. 수리실험은 폭 0.6m, 길이 20.0m 인 가변경사수로에서 수행하였으며, 하상재료는 크기에 따라 2가지 입경(16mm, 25mm)의 재료를 선정하였고, 구조물 경사에 대해 각각 1V:2H, 1V:3H, 1V:4H, 1V:6H의 경사도를 가지는 모형을 제작하여 실험을 수행하였다. 유량조건 및 도수발생위치는 유입부 수위에 따라 단계별로 4가지 수위조건을 만족시키는 유량을 통수하였고, 하류부 수위를 조절하여 도수위치를 조절하여 유입부(1), 낙차공부(5), 사류부(1), 하류부(1)에 대하여 총 8개 지점을 선정하여 수위$(y_n)$ 및 유속(V), 도수길이(Lr), 도수발생거리(Lj) 등을 측정하였다.

Oxygen Chemisorption of ZrC(111) Surface by High-Resoltion Electron Energy Loss and Ultraviolet Photoelectron Spectroscopy (고분해능 전자에너지손실 및 자외선광전자분광법을 이용한 ZrC(111)면의 산소흡착 연구)

  • Oxygen chemisorption on single crystal ZrC(111) surface was studied by high-resolution electron energy loss and ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy. At a low amount of oxygen exposure, adsorbed oxygen atoms construct $(\sqrt{3}{\times}\sqrt{3})R30^{\circ}$ structure. On the other hand, oxygen adsorption changes into $1{\times}1$ structure as the amount of oxygen exposure increases. The adsorbed oxygen atoms show smaller vertical distance from the Zr topmost layer in the $1{\times}1$ structure than in the $(\sqrt{3}{\times}\sqrt{3})R30^{\circ}$ structure and approach to the bridge site rather than 3-fold hollow site. The two different oxygen adsorption behavior comes from the two different surface stales of the clean ZrC(111) surface.

  • In this study, the laser patterning of sputter-deposited amorphous CoNbZr films has been tried usig Nd: YAG laser. However, the metal film was not removed because of its high reflectance of the alser on the metal surface. To solve this problem, authors tried to screen-print a block polymer on the metal film and then irradiate the laser on the polymer. This is a new method which was suggested by this study. Using this new method, the metal films were effectively removed with the laser power of 114W even though the metal films was not removed with the laser power of 332W using the conventional method. This result leads to the conclusion that the block polymer acts as a laser energy absorbing and transferring layer.

Piecewise-Constant Method for Angular Approximation for the Second-Order Multidimensional Neutron Transport Equations (다차원 2계 중성자 수송방정식의 방향근사를 위한 영역상수법)

  • The piecewise constant angular approximation is developed to replace the conventional angular quadrature sets in the solution of the second-order, multi-dimensional $S_{N}$ neutron transport equations. The newly generated quadrature sets by this method substantially mitigate ray effects and can be used in the same manner as the conventional quadrature sets are used. The discrete-ordinates and the piecewise-constant approximations are applied to both the first-order Boltzmann and the second-order form of neutron transport equations in treating angular variables. The result is that the mitigation of ray effects is only achieved by the piecewise-constant method, in which new angular quadratures are generated by integrating angle variables over the specified region. In other sense, the newly generated angular quadratures turn out to decrease the contribution of mixed-derivative terms in the even-parity equation that is one of the second-order neutron transport equation. This result can be interpreted as the entire elimination or substantial mitigation of ray effect are possible in the simplified even-parity equation which has no mixed-derivative terms.

Numerical Study on Two-phase Natural Circulation Flow by External Reactor Vessel Cooling of iPOWER (혁신형 안전경수로의 원자로용기 외벽냉각 시 2상 자연순환 유동에 대한 수치해석적 연구)

  • The domestic innovative power reactor named iPOWER will employ the passive molten corium cooling system(PMCCS) to cool down and stabilize the core melt in the severe accident. The final design concept of the PMCCS is yet to be determined, but the in-vessel retention through external reactor vessel cooling has been also considered as a viable strategy to cope with the severe accident. In this study, the two-phase natural circulation flow established between the reactor vessel and the insulation was simulated using a thermal-hydraulic system code, MARS-KS. The flow path of cooling water was modeled with one-dimensional nodes, and the boundary condition of the heat load from the molten core was defined to estimate the naturally-driven flow rate. The evolution of major thermal-hydraulic parameters were also evaluated, including the temperature and the level of cooling water, the void fraction around the lower head of the reactor vessel, and the heat transfer mode on its external surface.

Measurement of Absorbed Dose for High Energy Electron using $CaSO_4$:Tm-PTFE TLD ($CaSO_4$:Tm-PTFE TLD를 이용한 고에너지 전자선의 흡수선량 측정)

  • In this study, the highly sensitive $CaSO_4$:Tm-PTFE TLDs has been fabricated for the purpose of measurement of high energy electron. $CaSO_4$:Tm phosphor powder was mixed with polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) powder and moulded in a disk type(diameter 8.5mm, thickness $90mg/cm^2$) by cold pressing. The batch uniformities were average deviation 3.1%. The TLDs were applied to measurement of absorbed dose distribution for high energy electron, the ranges were determined to be $R_{100}=14.5mm$, $R_{50}=24.1mm$ and $R_p=31.8mm$, respectively. The beam flatness were 4.5% as the variation of dose relative to the central axis over the central 80% of the field size at a maximum dose depth in a plane perpendicular to the central axis.

The Dynamic Effect of Promotion of Natural Gas Vehicles on LNG Storage Facilities (천연가스 차량 보급이 LNG 저장설비 소용에 미치는 동태적 영향분석)

  • This paper attempts to analyze the effects of promotion of natural gas vehicles (NGVs) on LNG storage facilities and load patterns, and to verify economic feasibilities of NGVs as a DSM (Demand-Side Management) strategy. For these purpose, we have established an econometric mode. Results from the model indicate that natural gas demand in transportation sector will increase continuously, having a 7.84% share in total natural gas demand in 2014. By this analysis, the increased use of NGVs can result in a decreased requirement on the volume of around 1.3 LNG tanks lower in 2014. Also, it shows that TDRs can be reduced by 0.4 for the city gas and by 0.15 for the total LNG in 2014. As a conclusion, we suggest that the promotion of NGVs may play an efficient role as a DSM strategy, and should be considered as a promising strategy to optimize the investment needs in LNG sector as well as an environmental protection measures. Lastly, we acknowledge that a transportation module in our model is based on a Korean government's NGVs promotion plan, not on a market function.

Self-Starting Characteristics of Blades for Vertical Axis Wind turbine (수직축 풍력발전용 날개의 기동력특성)

  • A study has been done for self-starting torque of vertical axis wind turbine blade. It is especially concentrated to evaluate the torque coefficient before starting rotation. Two different aerofoils(AMI903 and AMI904) are proposed to benchmark the possible best blade(supercritical airfoil) for self-starting performance. Torque coefficients in the tangential direction of rotation are given with respect to the angle of attack in terms of drag coefficient and lift coefficient. Torque coefficient shows that the effect of Reynolds number is minimal. The thicker blade(AMI904) between two different proposed airfoils has bigger torque coefficient, which is attributed to lower lift coefficient and higher drag coefficient.

  • In this paper, a simplified uplink transmission procedure is proposed for reducing energy consumption and improving lifetime of CIoT devices. In the proposed procedure, the CIoT devices register information on their service and traffic to the networks, and the networks statically allocate pre-defined amounts of radio resources when the CIoT devices have requested permission for their uplink transmissions. This paper provides details of the proposed procedure comparing with those of the current GSM procedure, and defines detailed operations of the devices and the networks for the proposed one. This shows that the proposed scheme can effectively support CIoT services on GSM networks.
