A single-phase uninterruptible power supply system suitable for a SMES unit is proposed to achieve a simple circuit configuration and higher system reliability. It reduces the number of switching devices by applying a common-arm scheme. Operational principles to normal, stored-energy, and bypass mode are discussed in detail. Eliminating some of the switches or substituting passive components for active switches generally increases the sophistication and reduces degree of freedom in control strategy. However, the high-performance digital controller ran execute the complicated control task with no additional cost. The validity of the proposed UPS system will be verified by a computer-aided simulation.

In addition, future prospects and possibilities of Smart Textile Hybrid Energy Harvesting Devices that will supply electricity by combining with wearable IoT devices are presented. The hybrid textile energy harvesting device fused next-generation solar cells with tribo-piezoelectric devices will develop into new 'Convergence Integrated Smart Wear' by combining the material itself with wearable IoT devices in the era of the 4th industrial revolution. The next-generation nanotechnology and devices proposed in this paper will be applied to the field of smart textile with an energy harvesting function. And we hope it will be a paradigm shift that evolves into creative products which provide AI services such as medical & healthcare by convergence with the future smart wear industry.

A new resonant pulse converter for energy harvesting is proposed. The converter transfers energy from a low-voltage AC current to a battery. The low-voltage AC current source is an equivalent of the piezoelectric generator, which converts the mechanical energy to the electric energy. The converter consists of a full-bridge rectifier having four N-type MOSFETs and a boost converter haying N-type MOSFET and P-type MOSFET instead of diode. Switching of MOSFETs utilizes the capability of the $3^{rd}$ regional operation. The operational principles and switching method for the power control of the converter are investigated with the consideration of effects of the parasitic capacitances of MOSFETs. Simulation and experiment are performed to prove the analysis of the converter operation and to show the possibility of the $\mu$W energy harvesting.
