This study investigates the relationship between syntactic complexity indices and scores on language use in Jacobs et al.(1981)' analytic rating scale. Syntactic complexity indices obtained from TAASSC program and 440 essays written by EFL students from the ICNALE corpus were analyzed. Specifically, this study explores the relationship between scores on language use and Lu(2011)'s traditional syntactic complexity indices, phrasal complexity indices, and clausal complexity indices, respectively. Results of the stepwise regression analysis showed that phrasal complexity indices turned out to be the best predictor of scores on language use, although the variance in scores on language use was relatively small, compared with the previous study. Implications of the findings of the current study for writing instruction (i.e., syntactic structures at the phrase level) were also discussed.

의존 명사와 이를 꾸미는 관형어는 통사적으로 긴밀한 언어학적 단위를 이루므로 의존 명사에 대한 하위 범주 분류는 한국어 자연어 처리에 있어서 중요하다. 그러나 기존 국어 문법에서는 이 문제가 일관성 있게 다루어지지 않았다. 이 논문에서는 국어 사전(조재수 1997)에 올라 있는 의존 명사 600여 개를 허웅(1996)의 분류 기준을 보완하여 일관성 있게 하위 범주 분류를 시도하였다. 또 수량 단위 명사는 앞에 오는 수사의 종류에 따라 더 세분하였다.

본고는 한영번역기 개발을 위한 기초 작업으로 '와/과'구문에 나타나는 여러 가지 패턴을 정리하고 이들 구문에서 보이는 중의성 문제를 해결하고자 하였다. 이러한 작업을 위해서는 자료 수집 및 분석이 우선이기 때문에 코퍼스에서 '와/과'구문을 뽑아서 분석하여 규칙을 마련하였다. 여기에서 사용된 자질연산문법(FCG)은 자연언어처리를 위한 문법으로 변형규칙과 수형도의 개념 없이 자질을 이용한 연산 체계로서 언어처리를 하고자 하는 문법이다. 이 이론을 바탕으로 규칙을 세우고 실제 언어 자료를 뽑아서 테스트를 하여 95%의 성공률을 보여주었다. 그러나 여기서의 연구는 '와/과'구문의 처리를 위한 가장 뼈대가 되는 기초연구이며, 앞으로 좀 더 많은 처리가 이루어져야 하리라 생각된다.

In this paper, I would like to reconsider the evidential category (or the mediation category) in languages with language specific values, especially in Korean and French evidentials. We tried to analyze how the evidentials are represented in both languages including their linguistic markers (grammatical, lexical or discursive) and their semantic meanings. According to the precedent studies from the general linguistic point of view, we would like to reconsider the semantic meanings of both languages' grammatical markers, the so-called Korean retrospective marker '-te-' and French conditionals in the framework of the enunciative operation theory suggested by $Descl{\acute{e}}s$ & $Guentch{\acute{e}}va$ (2000), which proposed to classify the type of discourse by the language-independent description tools conceived after the enunciation theory suggested by Bally (1965), Benveniste (1956), Culioli (1973). Through this approach, we would like to contribute to establishing the linguistic basis not only for the general linguistic research to determine the invariant meaning of linguistic evidentials and their system, but also for the applied linguistics to the language engineering field.

연축성 발성장애(spasmodic dysphonia)는 아직까지 그 원인을 정확히 밝혀내지 못하고 있는 만성적인 발성장애로 과거에는 경직성 발성장애(spastic dysphonia)로 불리던 질환이다. 연축성 발성장애는 두 종류 즉, 내전형(adductor)과 외전형(abductor)으로 나누어지며 이중 내전형이 대부분이다. 외전형 연축성 발성장애는 발성도중에 성대가 갑자기 불수의적으로 외전되면서 음성이 중단되므로 원활히 대화하기가 힘든 질환이다. 이러한 질환은 국소적 근긴장이상(fecal dystonia)의 일종이다. 현재까지 연축성 발성장애의 치료법으로 사용되고 있는 것으로는 언어치료, botulium 독소주입술, 편측반회후두신경절 단술, 반회후두신경분쇄술, 상후두신경절단술, 갑상연골성형술, implantable stimulator 등이 있다. 연축성 발성장애 환자에 $Botox^{circledR}$ 주입에 관한 보고는 주로 내전형에 대해서만 보고되고 있으며 외전형에 대하여 보고된 예는 매우 적다. 자연 언어 처리의 구문 분석에서는 중의성 있는 결과가 많이 생성된다. 이러한 중의성을 해소하는데 어휘정보가 유용하다는 것은 잘 알려져 있으며, 이러한 어휘정보와 이를 이용한 중의성 해소에 관한 연구가 많이 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문은 한국어의 구문 구조 분석 시 부사에 의해 발생되는 중의성을 해소하기 위해 수식어 사전을 이용하여 구문 분석에서의 구조 중의성을 해소하였다. 수식어 사전의 어휘정보와 대상 말뭉치를 통해 각각의 부사에 대한 문법을 구성하고, 이를 이용하여 한국어 구문구조 분석에서 부사에 의해 발생되는 중의성을 줄일 수 있다.
