Effects of word frequency and semantic transparency on decomposition processes of compound nouns (사용빈도와 의미투명도가 복합명사의 분리처리에 미치는 효과)

  • This study examined effects of word frequency and semantic transparency on decomposition processes of compound nouns by semantic priming task and repetition priming task. In Experiment 1, it was investigated that decomposition process depended on word frequency of compound noun. Semantic priming effects were found In the compound noun's associate rendition consistently, and repetition priming effects were found in the whole rendition as well as in the part condition irrespective of word frequency and SOA. These results implied that compound noun was processed through decomposition process path and direct access path. In Experiment 2, Effects of semantic transparency on decomposition processes of compound nouns were examined. Semantic priming effects were found when compound nouns' associates were presented as primes irrespective of semantic transparency and SOA, and results were the same as experiment 1b in repetition priming task. Results of experiment 1 and 2 implies that compound nouns are interpreted by interactive activation processes of attributes activated by decomposition path and direct access path.

The Effect of Syllable Frequency, Syllable Type and Final Consonant on Hangeul Word and Pseudo-word Lexical Decision: An Analysis of the Korean Lexicon Project Database (한글 두 글자 단어와 비단어의 어휘판단에 글자 빈도, 글자 유형, 받침이 미치는 영향: KLP 자료의 분석)

  • This study attempted to find out how lexical decision of two-syllable words or pseudo-words is affected by syllabic information, such as syllable frequency, syllable (i.e. vowel) type, and presence of final consonant (i.e. batchim), through the analysis of the Korean Lexicon Project Database (KLP-DB). Hierarchical regression of RT data showed that lexical decision of words was influenced by the frequency of the first syllable, the syllable type of the first and second syllables, batchim for the first and second syllables, and also by the interaction of the two syllable types and the interaction of syllable frequency and batchim of the second syllable. For pseudo-words lexical decision was influenced by the frequency of the first and second syllables, syllable type of the first syllable, and batchim for the first and second syllables, and also by the interaction of the two syllable frequencies, the interaction of the two syllable types, and the interaction of syllable frequency and batchim of the first syllable. Word frequency had a strong effect on lexical decision of words, while syllabic information had a stable effect on the lexical decision of pseudo-words. These results indicate that syllabic information should be seriously considered in constructing word and pseudo-word lists and interpreting lexical decision time. Understanding the effect of syllabic information will also contribute to the understanding of word recognition process.

  • 최근 주소를 자동으로 인식하여 우편물 분류와 같은 업무를 효과적으로 수행하기 위한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 기존 연구들은 낱자 단위의 인식을 수행한 후 사전 형태의 간단한 DB를 통해 최종의 결과를 생성한다. 그러나 한글과 같은 복잡한 구조의 필기 문자에 대한 인식기의 성능은 아직도 미흡한 상태이다. 따라서 낱자 인식기의 성능에 의존하는 현재와 같은 방법으로는 만족할 만한 결과를 얻기가 힘들 것으로 생각된다. 본 논문에서는 낱자 인식 결과에 크게 의존하지 않고 주소에 나타나는 단어의 낱자들 사이간 연결 정보를 이용하여 단어를 인식할 수 있는 시스템을 제안한다. 본 시스템은 통계적 인식기를 사용하여 낱자를 인식하는 부분과 낱자 인식 결과를 조합하여 단어 수준의 인식과정을 통해 최종의 결과를 생성하는 부분으로 구성된다. 통계적 인식기는 Nearest neighborhood 방법을 사용하여 간단한 형태로 구현하였다. 단어인식 모듈은 단어에서 모든 문자간의 관계를 표현할 수 있도록 HMM 모형을 사용하여 어휘정보 네트워크를 구성하고 이를 이용하여 주소에 나타나는 단어를 인식하도록 하였다. PE92 한글 문자 데이터를 이용하여 실험을 수 璿\ulcorner 결과, 통계적 인식기의 성능이 저조함에도 불구하고 HMM을 이용한 어휘정보 네트워크가 이를 보완함으로써 좋은 결과를 얻었다. 이러한 단어 인식 방법을 주소 이외의 다른 단어 집합에 대해서도 쉽게 적용될 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.

  • 본 연구에서는 감성공학적 분석 방법론을 고안하여 직물 디자인 분야에 적용하고 그 효용성을 규명하였다. 방법론을 개발하기 위한 기초자료로서 직물 디자인요소와 이와 관련된 감성어휘를 수집하고 직물디자인요소계층도를 구축하였다. 수립된 직물디자인요소계층도상의 디자인요소에 관한 상대적인 중요도를 조사하여 디자인 요소별 가중치를 산출하고, 특정 디자인에 대하여 총체적인 감성수준과 디자인 요소별 감성수준을 측정한다. 측정된 요소별 감성수준을 Analytic Hierarchy Process 기법으로 종합한 감성수준을 비교한 결과 높은 상관관계를 보였다. 이 분석 방법론은 사전정보와 기술요소정보를 유기적으로 결합한 기반이 될 수 있는 합리적, 과학적인 개발 방법론을 제시하였다는데 큰 의의를 갖는다.

An English Essay Scoring System Based on Grammaticality and Lexical Cohesion (문법성과 어휘 응집성 기반의 영어 작문 평가 시스템)

  • In this paper, we introduce an automatic system of scoring English essays. The system is comprised of three main components: a spelling checker, a grammar checker and a lexical cohesion checker. We have used such resources as WordNet, Link Grammar/parser and Roget's thesaurus for these components. The usefulness of an automatic scoring system depends on its reliability. To measure reliability, we compared the results of automatic scoring with those of manual scoring, on the basis of the Kappa statistics and the Multi-facet Rasch Model. The statistical data obtained from the comparison showed that the scoring system is as reliable as professional human graders. This system deals with textual units rather than sentential units and checks not only formal properties of a text but also its contents.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of 2015 revised mathematics curriculum. This study focused on issues raised from the implementation. The teaching-learning methods for enhancing mathematical competencies, the amount and difficulty of mathematics in the 1st and 2nd grade, the level of vocabulary and sentence for students in the textbooks, and the support for successful implementation of the curriculum were collected and analyzed through questionnaires and interviews. As a result of the research, most of the teachers tried to improve the teaching and learning method considering mathematical competencies, but had difficulty in connecting contents and competencies. They also recognized that the amount and difficulty in the 1st and 2nd grade math, and the level of vocabulary and sentences presented in math textbooks were generally appropriate. However, they pointed out that the textbooks were over-emphasized in various ways out of basic calculation methods, and that the long sentences, which are not easy to read and understand by students who are not familiar with reading Korean, are included in the . They recognised that there is a large difference in level of reading Korean and understanding math among students. So we suggest that more active support is needed for the students who are learning slowly and the students who are having difficulty in reading Korean.

Entity-centric Dependency Tree based Model for Sentence-level Relation Extraction (문장 수준 관계 추출을 위한 개체 중심 구문 트리 기반 모델)

  • 구문 트리의 구조적 정보는 문장 수준 관계 추출을 수행하는데 있어 매우 중요한 자질 중 하나다. 기존 관계 추출 연구는 구문 트리에서 최단 의존 경로를 적용하는 방식으로 관계 추출에 필요한 정보를 추출해서 활용했다. 그러나 이런 트리 가지치기 기반의 정보 추출은 관계 추출에 필요한 어휘 정보를 소실할 수도 있다는 문제점이 존재한다. 본 논문은 이 문제점을 해소하기 위해 개체 중심으로 구문 트리를 재구축하고 모든 노드의 정보를 관계 추출에 활용하는 모델을 제안한다. 제안 모델은 TACRED에서 F1 점수 74.9 %, KLUE-RE 데이터셋에서 72.0%로 가장 높은 성능을 보였다.

  • The present study aims to investigate how teachers evaluate the Korean textbook they use for teaching primary students with multicultural background. Faced with the rich variety of materials available, it is often a challenging task for language teachers to select the most suitable coursebook. It is required that they carry out a detailed and comprehensive analysis of coursebooks and evaluate them with a set of criteria to guide the process. 32 Korean teachers took part in the primary KSL textbook evaluation that aimed to identify improvement areas. They used a pro-forma specified with 51 criteria. The teachers' responses to the questions in the pro-forma were statistically analyzed to draw implications for material evaluation. The findings of the analysis suggest that the KSL textbook for primary multicultural students need to be improved at the internal and external levels. Implications are discussed with focus on material evaluation and development, and KSL teacher professional development by helping them gain good and useful insights into the nature of the textbook, and sensitizing them to features to look for in teaching and learning materials.

Development of Evaluation Tool for Educational Applications (교육용 앱 평가도구 개발 연구)

  • 이 연구는 스마트교육환경에서의 교육용 앱을 평가하기 위한 신뢰롭고 타당한 도구를 개발하는데 있다. 기존 선행연구에 기초해서 교육용 앱의 평가를 위한 평가모형을 도출했으며, 이 모형은 4개의 평가영역(교수 학습측면, 화면디자인측면, 기술측면, 경제 윤리측면)과 13개 평가요소들로 구성되었다. 이 잠재모형의 통계적 타당성 검증을 위한 자료수집을 하고자, 경기도 소재 중학교 1곳과 고등학교 2곳의 학생 156명을 대상으로 교육용 앱을 평가하는데 있어서 각 평가문항이 갖는 중요도를 평가하였다. 수집된 자료를 탐색적 요인분석한 결과, 교육용 앱을 평가하는 영역으로 교수 학습(흥미성 자기주도성 실용성, 인지발달성), 화면디자인(디자인의 적합성, 어휘의 정확성), 기술(호환성, 안정성), 경제 윤리(경제성, 윤리성) 등 4개 영역이 제안되었다. 또한 문항내적일관성을 확인하고자 신뢰도 분석한 결과, 각 평가영역 별 Cronbach ${\alpha}$는 .88, .85, .82, .80으로 모두 적합한 수준을 보였다. 따라서, 이 연구를 통해 도출된 교육용 앱 평가도구는 통계적으로나 타당성과 신뢰성 측면에서 의미 있는 것으로 판단할 수 있다.

A Characteristic of Emotional Word According to Experience Using and Preference of Product (제품 사용 경험과 선호도에 따른 감성어휘의 표현 특성)

  • This study intended to grasp image association on human's product and cognition response characteristic, and analyze their correlation with product preference. For this, photos of mobile phones and proposal-type products were selected for experiment stimuli, and an experiment expressing associated word and an experiment evaluating preference of each product's photo were made. With the experiments, two results were derived. First, in linguistic cognition response on product with use experience, application of emotional expression increased as the level of preference increased by mixing expressions of metaphor languages and emotional image. Second, non-use experience of product induces response corresponding to understanding on the object of cognition only perceptually and considering similarities with general experience information.
