Life Cycle Assessment on Pump and Treatment Remediation of Contaminated Groundwater (오염 지하수 양수 및 처리 공정에 대한 전과정평가)

  • Environmental impact by proposed pump and treatment remediation of groundwater contaminated with TCE over 0.6 mg/L down to 0.005 mg/L was assessed for 30 years operation in an industrial park. Total amount of groundwater treated was $2.96{\times}10^7m^3$ and the amount of TCE removed was 17.6 kg at most. The life cycle assessment was used to estimate the environmental cost and environmental benefit and their effects on the environment could be analyzed. Most of the environmental cost was accrued from electricity generation for 30 years pump operation, which includes energy consumption, resources consumption such as coal, crude oil, emission of global warming gas and acid gas into air, waste water production, and waste generation. Environmental impact could be quantified with a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) model for soil and groundwater remediation and normalized based upon consumption and emission quantities per capita in the world. Among the normalized values, acidification material release was the most significant.

Estimation of Natural Streamflow for the Bokhacheon Middle-upper Watershed (복하천 중상류 유역의 자연유량 산정)

  • The objectives of this study are to construct the natural streamflow in the Bokhacheon middle-upper watershed using the SWAT-K model and to assess the impacts of groundwater withdrawals, water intake, treated sewage water release on streamflow. The simulated natural streamflow from 2006 to 2013 showed the minimum discharge of $1.7m^3/s$, the annual average discharge of $26.2m^3/s$, the drought flow of $2.0m^3/s$ at the outlet of the study area. The simulated results indicated that the groundwater pumping has induced the decrease of 34% in drought flow against the natural condition and the net water release has caused the increase of 15%, while the combined effects of the groundwater pumping and the net water release have induced the decrease of 19%. It was found out from the simulated natural streamflow data that the specific discharges of the abundant flow, normal flow, low flow, drought flow in the upper-middle channels of the Bokha-cheon watershed have a tendency to increase as the drainage area increases, but the specific discharges showed almost constant values at any downstream point with drainage area more than about 180 $km^2$.

  • 본 논문에서는 차량 충돌 방지 시스템으로 많이 사용되고 있는 밀리미터파를 이용한 FMCW(Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) 레이더의 신호 처리부를 분석 및 설계하였고, 설계한 레이더의 파라미터 값들을 이용하여 선행 차량의 거리와 속도 정보를 검출하는 신호 처리 과정을 시뮬레이션 해 보았다. 최종적으로 FMCW 레이더의 신호 처리부를 TI사의 TMS320C31 DSP을 이용하여 하드웨어로 구현하였다.

Competition Analysis to Improve the Performance of Movie Box-Office Prediction (영화 매출 예측 성능 향상을 위한 경쟁 분석)

  • Although many studies tried to predict movie revenues in the last decade, the main focus is still to learn an efficient forecast model to fit the box-office revenues. However, the previous works lack the analysis about why the prediction errors occur, and no method is proposed to reduce the errors. In this paper, we consider the prediction error comes from the competition between the movies that are released in the same period. Our purpose is to analyze the competition value for a movie and to predict how much it will be affected by other competitors so as to improve the performance of movie box-office prediction. In order to predict the competition value, firstly, we classify its sign (positive/negative) and compute the probability of positive sign and the probability of negative sign. Secondly, we forecast the competition value by regression under the condition that its sign is positive and negative respectively. And finally, we calculate the expectation of competition value based on the probabilities and values. With the predicted competition, we can adjust the primal predicted box-office. Our experimental results show that predictive competition can help improve the performance of the forecast.

  • BioPlace의 일정관리 시스템은 특정 연구 분야의 연구자들 사이에 효과적이고 능률적인 일정관리를 지원하기 위한 웹기반 환경이다. 웹을 통한 공동작업의 경우 개인은 물론 그룹의 일정을 보다 효율적이고 체계적으로 수립하고 공지하는 것이 바람직하다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 요구를 충족시키기 위하여 BioPlace의 일정관리 작업에서 발생하는 이벤트의 흐름과 관련 데이터의 분석을 통한 데이터의 효율적인 관리방법을 기술하였다. 일정관리 작업에 사용되는 데이터의 효율적인 관리와 처리를 위한 방법으로 세션과 Request 객체를 이용하였다.

  • 모바일 환경에서 전력 손실이 중요한 문제 중 하나가 됨에 따라, MRAM과 플래시메모리와 같은 비 휘발성 메모리가 차세대 모바일 컴퓨터에 널리 사용될 것이다. 본 논문에서는 DRAM/MRAM 하이브리드 메인 메모리의 제한적인 쓰기 연산 성능을 고려한 효율적인 버퍼 캐시 기법을 연구했다. 제안한 기법은 MRAM 의 제한적인 쓰기 연산 성능을 고려하고 플래시 메모리 저장 장치의 삭제 연산 횟수를 최소화한다.

  • NAND 플래시 메모리 기반의 Solid State Disk (SSD)의 내부에는 Flash Translation Layer (FTL)이라는 소프트웨어가 사용되고 있다. FTL은 파일 시스템으로부터 요청되는 논리 주소를 플래시 메모리의 물리 주소로 변환하며 이를 위하여 사상 테이블을 사용한다. 사상 테이블의 빠른 접근을 위하여 사상 테이블은 SSD 내부의 RAM에 유지하는데 SSD의 용량이 커지게 되면 사상 테이블로 인해 요구되는 RAM의 크기도 커지는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 FTL의 사상 테이블을 페이지 단위로 나누어 필요할 때마다 RAM에 적재하는 다단계 사상 테이블 기법을 연구하였다.

  • In this research, phenol was selected as a representative hydrophilic organic compound and phenanthrene as a representative hydrophobic organic contaminant in petroleum. Fine-grained soil which was manufactured artificially in laboratory was contaminated and EK remediation tests were executed. Also, in order to increase removal efficiency, the surfactant that had been used with improvement technique at the pump-and-treat was used by enhanced method. In the test, the phenol which has high solubility is easily removed, but phenanthrene which has low solubility is almost not. Also, it seems to be the delay phenomenon that the phenanthrene is accumulated near the cathode department vicinity at the enhanced technique which applied the surfactant, but the removal efficiency increases as the surfactant concentration increases. By the test which increases with time, the enhanced method with increasing time is more efficient than the method with increasing surfactant.

On Teaching of Positive Numbers and Negative Numbers in the 7-th Grade Mathematics (제 7-단계 수학에서 양.음수의 지도에 관한 연구)

  • To be good at numeration is an important matter in learning mathematics. Unlike the 6-th curriculum, integers are introduced in middle school curriculum for the first time in the 7-th curriculum. Therefore, to help the students team integers systematically and thoroughly, it is necessary that we allow more space for process of introduction, process of operations and practice of operations in the 7-th curriculum text book than that of 6-th curriculum text book. As specific and systemic visualized teaching of operation is especially important in building the concept of operation, by using visualized teaching methods, students can understand the process of operation more fully and systematically. Moreover, students become proficient in operation of positive number and negative numbers by expending this learning process of operations to the operations used absolute value. In 7-th grade mathematics, the expression of positive numbers and negative numbers visually are useful for understanding of operations for numbers. But it is not easy to do so. In this paper we use arrows(directed segments) to express positive numbers and negative numbers visually and apply them to perform the operations for numbers. Using arrows, we can extend the method used in elementary school mathematics to the methods for operations of positive numbers and negative number in 7-th grade mathematics. By experiments, we can know that such processes of introduction for operations are effective and this way helps teachers teach and students learn.
