The Green Wall system is one of segmental concrete crib type earth retaining wall. Green wall is constructed as procedures that lay the front stretchers, rear stretchers and headers then making a rigid body through harden filled soil of interior cell. Recently, Green Wall method is applied in variable cutting ground construction because of advantage which minimize to cut base ground. In case of Green Wall method is constructed with soil nail method, expect that total system stability will increase more than flexible facing because of facing stiffness is big. However, in this case of design, facing stiffness is not considered so that is poor economy. Hence, in this study, stability increasing effect of total system analyze about that soil nail method is constructed with rigidity facing like a Green Wall method. In present study, laboratory model tests was performed for analysis on stability increasing effect of total system about changing stiffness of facing. LEM analysis conducted for evaluation on safety factor of total system sliding that facing condition changed.
The value of sensing information is decided according to positions of sensor nodes, which are very important in sensor networks. In this paper, we propose a method that estimates positions of nodes by using adjacent node information and received signal strength in a sensor network. With the proposed method, we can find positions of nodes easily because we use information that nodes have. Moreover, we can find distribution easily for all the nodes because we can measure a relative position for a node whose position is not known based on anchor nodes whose positions are already known. We utilized Use case diagram, activity diagram and State machine diagram among several diagrams of UML to implement proposed method in sensor networks that is dynamic system. We can understand exact flow for each function of the proposed method in node position estimation system can be implemented easily. And we can be confirmed that the position of estimated nodes has a little error.

Multimedia systems present information by various media, for example, video, sound, music, animation, movie, etc., in addition to the text which has long been used for conveying the information. Among many multimedia applications, the multimedia information retrieval systems commercialized in the forms of multimedia encyclopedia CD-ROMs, benefited from various media for their ability to present information in an efficient and complete way. But using several media, on the other hand, may cause end users' confusion and furthermore, poorly designed user interface often exacerbates the situation. In this study, the multimedia systems were studied from the standpoint of usability. The conceptual framework of the user interface of the multimedia system was newly defined. And 100 initial variables for user interface design of general multimedia systems were suggested through literature survey and expert opinions based upon the framework developed. Among various application areas, the multimedia information retrieval systems were chosen for investigation, and 36 variables particularly relevant to user interface of the multimedia information retrieval systems were selected. According to the sequential research strategy, the variables that were considered to be most important were finally selected through a screening stage. A part of selected variables were verified through a human factors experiment as the first step of sequential research. Based upon the result of the experiment, guidelines for user interface design were provided. For future study, the variables remained will be Investigated and the study will expand to another application areas.

In this study, the progressive failure and creep of the traditional ground anchor structure were decreased and a new ground anchor that can attain the required pull-out resistance even in soft sandy soils with low confining pressure was developed. Ground anchors are classified depending on the kind of stress the grout is subjected. If the grout material is subjected to tension then it is classified as tension anchor while when the grout material is subjected to compression it is classified as compression anchor. The ground anchor that possesses both the tension and compression mechanism mentioned above is known as composition anchor. It is the objective of this study to develope this type of composition anchor. The structure of the newly developed ground anchor was presented. Pull-out test in different types of soil and the behaviour during Pull-out test was also presented.

Although the performance of the commercial vessel has been dramatically improved through innovations, there has been no big changes on the traditional anchoring method of commercial vessels, both on design and operation until now. In this paper, two cases of design modifications were introduced for optimized design of pocket type anchor handling, which resulted in improved performance of the vessel's anchoring. From the first time fully balanced type anchors were applied on vessels in Korean shipyard, main design problem on this application was that the anchor doesn't normally slide into the pocket when the anchor fluke is not in line with pocket, as the anchor freely rotates by the swivel on forerunner. In order to prevent the problem, swivel has been deleted on the forerunner to prevent anchor rotation until now, but this solution caused problems such as twist lock of anchor chain, restriction of windlass direction, etc. On this paper, one of the solution is introduced to overcome the design problem by tilting the hawse pipe to some extent, which makes anchor turned at the time anchor ring touches the pocket skirt and that it properly slides into the pocket. Secondly, one of the solution is introduced to overcome misalignment problem between anchor chain cable and roller of chain compressor, which has been frequently occurred, by modification of roller design.

In this study, samples of sea anchor canopy cloth mainly used in Korean jigging fishing vessels were collected and tested for performance evaluation. The canopy cloth of sea anchor is a basic element of form composition that is known to have the greatest influence on anchor performance. In order to evaluate the performance of sea anchor canopy cloth, five types of samples were tested for new metric count, tensile strength, water vapour transmission rate and drying speed according to the national standard (KS), and some correlations were identified. As a result of the test, the new metric count of cloths was 335.5-443.4 denier in warp and 217-447.6 denier in weft, and the minimum tensile strength was 860 N in warp direction and 430 N in weft direction. The apparent number and tensile strength of cloth were proportional, the water vapour transmission rate of the sample was 206.8 g/m2h, and the drying speed was 90-100 min. This study partially confirmed the performance evaluation based on speculation by the standard test method, and further research is needed on the clear relationship between the research results and the performance of the sea anchor.
The abalone shell (Haliotis) is one of the most important resources for the coastal fisheries and it is popular as an aquacultural species. Proper cultivating grounds for mid-term nursery of abalone spats are required before releasing them. It is difficult for us to find good enough aquacultural grounds to rear abalone spats to 20"30mm of shell length. Therefore, we need to study a practical and effective new type of aquacultural device for the nursing of abalone spats by using open sea areas. We can find this kind of studies from 'Marine aya No. 1' of Japan, Though they focused on the easy operation, safe working and low operating cost, it involves so much initial cost that it is difficult for us to justify such expenditure. However, with a modified small buoy system, this submersible facility needs only a horizontal frame to fulfill its essential function and the vortical part can be removed. The working boat equipped with a pump can operate this facility to keep it submerged or floated. This paper deals with the possibility of this submersible fishery facility for the mid term nursing of abalone spats in the open sea. A small version of this system to ensure low initial cost is suggested and wave and current forces were calculated for the estimation of the weight of the mooring anchor.

In this paper, we propose a cost-effective location and service management scheme in LTE (Long Term Evolution) networks, which a per-user service proxy is created to serve as a gateway between the mobile user and all client-server applications engaged by the mobile user. The service proxy is always co-located with the mobile user's location database such that whenever the MU's location database moves during a location hand-off, a service hand-off also ensues to co-locate the service proxy with the location database. This allows the proxy to know the location of the mobile user all the time to reduce the network communication cost for service delivery. We analyze four integrated location and service management schemes. Our results show that the centralized scheme performs the best when the mobile user's SMR (service to mobility ratio) is low and ${\upsilon}$(session to mobility ratio) is high, while the fully distributed scheme performs the best when both SMR and ${\upsilon}$ are high. In all other conditions, the dynamic anchor scheme is the best except when the service context transfer cost is high under which the static anchor scheme performs the best. Through analytical results, we demonstrate that different users with vastly different mobility and service patterns should adopt different integrated location and service management methods to optimize system performance.

This paper specifies a low-cost global mobility management architecture and protocol procedure called LC-$GM^2$, which is based on Proxy Mobile IPv6. In LC-$GM^2$, mobility management is performed by the network entity. The benefit is the elimination of the wireless link data delivery tunnel overhead between a mobile node and the access router. To compare with the well-known Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 mobility management protocol and GPMIP, the location update, packet delivery, and total cost functions generated by a mobile node during its average domain residence time are formulated for each protocol based on Fluid-flow mobility model. Then, the impacts of various system parameters on the cost functions are analyzed. The analytical results indicate that the proposed global mobility management protocol can guarantee lower total costs.
