횡단 유동장으로 펄스 분사된 액체 제트의 분무 구조 및 단면 분포 특성 (Spray Structure and Cross-section Characteristics of Pulsed Liquid Jet Injected into a Cross-flow)

  • 횡단류로 펄스 분사되는 액체제트의 분무 특성을 연구하기 위하여 35.7 ~ 166.2Hz 범위의 분사 주파수와 횡단류 속도 42 ~ 136 m/s의 조건에서 실험을 수행하였다. 횡단 유동장에서 액체제트의 주된 분열 인자는 압력 펄스 주파수의 영향보다는 횡단류의 항력에 의존하며, 주기적인 압력 진동에 의해 횡단류로 분사된 액체제트는 상하 진동하는 특성을 나타냈다. 또한 액적의 집합체(liquid jet puff)가 횡단류 방향의 액체 제트 표면에 나타났으며, 이러한 두 가지 특성을 통해 유동장의 혼합을 예상할 수 있었다. 압력 펄스 주파수에 의한 SMD 특성은 연속 분사의 층상 구조와 다른 비층상 구조로 나타났으며, 체적 유속은 압력 펄스 주파수가 증가함에 따라 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다.

이중분무 교차지역에서의 액적유동특성의 통계학적 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Statistical Analysis of the Flow Characteristics of Droplet in the Cross Region of Twin Spray)

  • This study investigated mainly on the flow characteristics of a droplet in the cross region of twin spray. The velocities of the droplet were measured along the axial and radial direction, and the flow characteristics of the droplet were statistically analyzed. For the statistical analysis, the probability density of the turbulent components has been studied, and then the Reynolds shear stress, the skewness and the flatness factors were calculated, and compared with the Gaussian value. Two pressure swirl stomizers were used for the twin spray system and kerosene was employed as the working liquid. 2-D PDA(particle dynamic analyzer) was used for the purpose of the measurement of droplet size and velocities. As a result, it was found that (1) the droplets collision was taken place strongly in the cross region. So, a large momentum loss of droplets due to the loss of natural movement direction was occurred, and momentum loss of radial direction was greater than that of axial direction. (2) The axial direction skewness factor approached to zero like the Gaussian distribution in the cross region of twin spray. (3) In the cross region of twin spray, the fluctuation instability of droplet was increased because of the development of the turbulence characteristics due to the droplet collision.

디젤분무의 모사를 위한 혼합 모델의 개발 (Development of Hybrid Model for Simulating of Diesel Spary Dynamics)

  • A number of atomization and droplet breakup models have been developed and used to predict the diesel spray characteristic. Most of these models could not provide reasonable computational result of the diesel spray characteristic because they have only considered the primary breakup. A hybrid model is, therefore, required to develop by considering the primary and secondary breakup of liquid jet. according to this approach, wave breakup(WB) model was used compute the primary breakup of the liquid jet and droplet deformation and breakup(DDB) model was used for the secondary breakup of droplet. Development of hybrid model by using KIVA-II code was performed by comparing with the experimental data of spray tip penetration and SMD from the literature. A hybrid model developed in this study could provide the good agreement with the experimental data of spray tip penetration. The prediction results of SMD were in good agreement between 0.5 and 1.0 ms after the start of injection. Numerical results obtained by the present hybrid model have the good agreement with the experimental data with the breakup time constant in WB model of 30, and DDB model constant Ck of 1.0 when the droplet becomes less than 95% of maximum droplet diameter injected.

글로우플러그를 이용한 충돌분무의 미립화특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Atomization Characteristics of Gasoline Impinging Spray Using Glow plug)

  • It is reported that during the cold starting, especially in gasoline engine, the engine response and the effect of HC emission can be improved by prompting atomization and reducing the quantity of fuel adhered to the range of injector tip, inlet port, and inlet valve. The purposes of this study are to promote atomization of fuel before air-fuel mixture in the inlet port. In order to achieve its goal, the glow plug is to evaluate the feasibility of for the early fuel evaporator and the spray behavior characteristics of gasoline, injected on the surface of glow plug with room temperature(2$0^{\circ}C$) and high temperature(25$0^{\circ}C$) is to examine. Particle motion analysis system(PMAS) was used to measure the SMD and the dropsize distribution of impinging spray and free spray. The results of this experiment, evaporation rate of impinging spray was higher than that of free spray, and the higher evaporation rate win, the smaller peak dropsize was. Especially, during early spray SMD of impinging spray was still smaller than that of fee spray.

  • 액체로켓엔진 연소실의 연소특성은 인젝터의 성능에 지대한 영향을 받는다. 본 논문은 소형 액체로 켓엔진 인젝터의 분사성능 고찰을 위해 이중모드 위상도플러속도계를 이용하여 분사압력 및 분무의 횡단방향 이동거리 변화에 따라 액적의 속도, Sauter 평균직경, 난류강도와 같은 분무특성 매개변수를 측정한다. 또, Weber 수와 Reynolds 수를 활용하여 인젝터 분무의 미립화 및 난류특성을 규명한다.

보염기 주위의 연료액적크기와 연소특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Drop Size and the Combustion Characteristics around the Bluff-body)

  • This work was performed to investigate the distribution of the fuel droplet size around the bluff-body and the combustion characteristics. The bluff-body is used fur the purpose of increasing the combustion efficiency by stabilizing the flame. Diameters of the bluff-body in this experiment are 6, 8, and 10mm and the impingement angles are $30^{\circ},\;60^{\circ}\;and\;90^{\circ}$. The measurement points were at the distances of 20 and 30 mm axially from the nozzle. The geometry of the bluff-body influenced the spray shape and the combustion characteristics. The SMD was acquired by image processing technique (PMAS), and the mean temperatures were measured by thermocouple. In the condition of ${\theta}=60^{\circ}$, the values of SMD are not greatly varied compared to the other conditions. As the angle of bluff-body was increased, the high temperature region was wider along radial direction. When the air-fuel ratio was larger than 5.2, the NOx concentration was decreased, and an increase in the diameter of the bluff-body decreased the NOx of emission.

  • 본 연구에서는 착빙 환경 요소와 결빙 형상 파라미터의 관계를 자가조직도와 분산분석을 활용하여 분석하였다. 결빙 형상에 영향을 미치는 외기 조건으로 자유류 속도, 대기온도, 대기중 물방울 함유량(LWC), 액적의 평균 직경(MVD)을 선정하였다. 그리고 결빙 형상의 특징이 되는 파라미터로 최대 두께, 결빙한계(Icing limit), 결빙 진행 방향, 결빙면적을 선정하였다. 자가 조직도의 결과는 결빙형상 파라미터에 관계가 있는 외기 조건에 대한 정성적인 관계를 제시하였고 분산분석의 결과는 형상 파라미터에 대한 외기 조건의 영향력의 상대적인 크기와 순위를 정량적으로 제시하였다.

  • In recently, a study on the lean combustion is investigated intensively, because it is expected that this method may decrease the harmful exhaust gas and improve fuel economy in gasoline engine. The problems of lean combustion system in gasoline engine are ignition difficulty, misfire and instability of combustion. The investigation on the optimization of fuel metering and the control of mixing gas flow may be critical to improve the performance of lean combustion. In the fuel injection gasoline engine, the formation of mixture influences strongly on the engine performance such that the importance of fuel metering system becomes apparent. First of all, a study on the fuel breakup characteristics of gasoline fuel injector was carried out in this paper. Fuel injectors are pintle and 4hole-2spray type. The purpose of this study is to clarify the atomization mechanism of spray injected into atomosphere field through electronic controlled-fuel injectors, and to analyze spray characteristics such as drop size distribution and mean drop diameter produced at fuel injector. In this paper, the spray development is observed by taking photograps using 80mm still-camera system, and drop sizes are measured by PMAS. From these experiment, spray pattern injected from gasoline fuel injectors was investigated clearly. Also, it was found that SMD and drop size distribution of injected fuel spray from gasoline fuel injectors.

Urea-SCR시스템 액막형 선회분사기의 분사압력변화에 따른 무특성에 관한 연구 (Effect of injection pressure on the atomization characteristics of a liquid sheet-type swirl injector for Urea-SCR system)

  • Urea-SCR시스템에 적용하기 위한 액막형 선회분사기의 분사압력변화에 따른 분무특성이 실험적으로 조사되었다. 실험에 사용된 노즐은 형상비 3.1을 갖는 단공 압력식 액막형 선회노즐이며, 노즐선단에 분사되는 유체에 선회류를 형성하기 위한 선회기가 설치되어 있다. 노즐의 분사량 조절은 PWM(pulse width modulation)기법에 의해 제어되었다. 분무의 발달과정은 2차원 PIV에 의해 가시화되었으며, 분무각 변화가 조사되었다. 분무액적의 속도 및 크기는 2차원 PDPA에 의해 상온 대기압 조건에서 측정되었다. 분무구조는 분사압력에 큰 영향을 받으며, SMD는 분사압력 증가에 따라 감소하며 선행연구자의 반실험적 결과와 유사한 경향을 보임을 알 수 있었다.
