특집: 미래주도형 성형공정과 수치 해석기술 - 재료이용률 향상을 위한 차세대 압출공정

  • 녹색기술 및 친환경 공정의 필요성이 급증함에 따라 재료이용률 향상을 지향하는 차세대 압출공정의 대두가 필요하게 됨에 따라 유압 CNC(Servo) 제어를 이용한 가변단면 압출기술을 개발하게 되었다. 이러한 가변단면 압출(Varied section extrusion, VSE)기술은 공정 중에 압출구를 빠져 나가는 소재의 단면 형상을 변화시켜 재료이용률을 향상을 도모하였으며, 후가공 공정의 생략도 가능하여 국내 압출업체의 생산원가 절감 및 글로벌 기술경쟁력 확보에 큰 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다. 아직은 소수의 선진국에서 시도한바 있으나 양산품 적용에는 생산원가 및 생산속도, 상품성 등에 문제가 있어 자동차 부품 적용에 한계를 보이고 있는 기술이다. 따라서 본 연구팀이 가변단면 압출용 금형을 포함한 최적의 압출공정 및 양산성 문제의 해결점을 거의 확보하고 있는 단계로 세계를 선도하는 리딩기술(Leading technology)을 보유하게 됨으로써 국가의 기술경쟁력 향상에 중요한 역할을 수행할 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구의 내용을 요약하여 정리해 보면 첫째로는 CNC 제어 가변단면 압출공정에 대하여 자세하게 소개하고 특징 및 장 단점을 설명하였으며, 자동차 부품군에로의 적용에 많은 이점들을 갖고 있음을 설명하였다. 두 번째로는 가변단면 압출을 위한 이동 금형(Moving die)부품을 갖는 구조의 압출금형에 관하여 기존의 압출금형과 비교하여 설명하였으며, 가변단면 압출용 금형의 구조 및 메커니즘의 최적화를 이루고자 하였다. 세 번째로는 가변단면 압출공정을 실현하기 위한 CNC 제어 압출시스템에 대하여 간략히 설명하였다. 네 번째로는 자동차 부품 적용을 위한 정밀 압출공정으로서 가변단면 압출공정에 대하여 유한요소해석을 통하여 가변단면 압출공정 변수 및 금형 변수 등에 대한 엄격한 검토를 선행적으로 수행하여 양산성 확보를 위한 정보들을 분석 정리하였다. 끝으로는 세 가지 단면형태를 갖는 가변단면 압출제 시제품에 대하여 CNC 제어 가변 단면 압출공정의 상용화 가능성을 확인 적용성 검토를 완료하였다. CNC 제어 가변단면 압출기술은 압출공정에 있어서 많은 경험과 기술적 검토가 선행되어져야 하는 고부가가치 성형공정으로써 재료 이용률을 획기적으로 향상시킬 수 있는 압출공법으로 향후 자동차 부품 뿐만아니라 다양한 알루미늄 제품군에 적용이 가능하다고 판단된다.

Comparison of Antioxidant Activities of Extruded Rice with Vegetables by Cold and Conventional Extrusion (저온 및 재래식 공정에 따른 쌀·야채류 압출성형물의 항산화 활성 비교)

  • The study was designed to investigate the effects of cold and conventional extrusion on antioxidant properties of extruded rice with vegetables. Moisture content and screw speed were fixed at 25% and 150 rpm. Cold extrusion and conventional extrusion were adjusted at die temperature of $80^{\circ}C$ with a $CO_2$ injection rate of 300 mL/min and $140^{\circ}C$ without a $CO_2$ injection, respectively. Pumpkin, tomato, strawberry, and green tea powder of 10% were individually blended with rice flour. 1,1-Diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical-scavenging activity of extruded pumpkin and tomato mix by conventional extrusion was higher than that by cold extrusion. Total phenolic content in extruded pumpkin, tomato, and strawberry mix by cold extrusion was higher than that by conventional extrusion. Total flavonoid content was highest (18.82 mg/g) in extruded green tea by conventional extrusion. Total carotenoid content decreased in extruded pumpkin but increased in extruded tomato. Tomato extrudates with cold extrusion had higher lycopene content than conventional extrusion. Anthocyanin content of conventional extruded strawberry was higher than that of cold extrudates. Total chlorophyll contents decreased through the extrusion process.

Extrusion Die Development of Interior & Exterior Parts for High Speed Train on Aluminum Alloys and Controls of Extrusion Conditions (고속전철 내·외장재용 알루미늄 합금의 압출 금형 개발 및 압출 조건의 제어)

  • The important thing in extrusion technology is the design and production of molds. Appropriate design of the molds is essential for achieving the desired extrusion of molds at the same time to maximize the life of the molds and increase their efficiency. The extrusion temperature and extrusion speed are the main parameters at the time of extrusion. Different extrusion conditions should be added depending on the extrusion ratio, physical properties of the material, and type of extrusion. In this study, the extrusion process of various 6xxx series aluminum cast alloys for high speed train interior or exterior parts were investigated. The extruded die design was performed for the 6063, 6061, 6N01, 6005, 5083 and 6060 alloy profiles and an extrusion test was conducted. In addition, the extrusion conditions, such as extrusion pressure following as the billet temperature, extrusion temperature, and materials change, were analyzed. Although the 6063 aluminum alloy can be extruded at the lowest temperature and pressure, the 6061 alloy can be extruded at the highest temperature and pressure. From these results, the successful extruded products were manufactured from these established conditions.

The Extrusion Characteristics in Hor Extrusion of $SiC_p/6061 Al$ Composite ($SiC_p/6061 Al$ 복합재료의 압출가공에 있어서 압출특성)

  • In order to elucidate the extrusion characteristics of $SiC_{p}$/6061 Al composite, defomation resistance, $K_{w}$ was determined using the empirical formula suggested by Watanabe et al, and also extrusion pressure was measured using the extrusion press with a capacity of 350 ton. The $K_{w}$ which are propotional to extrudability, was increased with increasing volume fraction of reinforcement, $SiC_{p}$, but decreased with increasing the particle size. The peaks of maximum extrusion pressure in curves of extrusion force vs ram stroke were changed sharply with decreasing the particle size. The elevated extrustion temperature resulted in the decreased $K_{w}$ and extrusion pressure, but caused the surface tearing of extrusion composite bars. The results showed that extrudability of the composite billets is depend on the extrusion conditions as well as the characteristics of reinforcement, $SiC_{p}$.

비축대칭 소재에서 내부가 원형인 튜브의후방압출 해석

  • 외부가 비축대칭인 튜브의 수방압출은 자동차와 항공기등의 복잡한 부품을 만드는데 많이 사용된다. 이런 후방압출 제품의 변형 상태는 저자들의 논문에서 이미 밝힌 바와 같이 복잡하다. 그래서, 외부가 비출대칭인 튜브형상의 후방압출은 근래에 와서 연구되었다. 본 연구에서는 저자들의 논문 에서 제시된 동적가용속도장을 수정하여 비축대칭인 소재에서 내부가 원형인 튜브의 후방압출의 최종 단계를 해석하 고자 한다. 해석의 적용예로서는 정다각형 소재와 모서리가 둥근 직사각형(rounded rectangle)소재를 택하였다 제시된 속도장으로부터 단면 감소율과 형상비(aspect ratio)에 대하여 압출 하중과 압출된 소재의 평균 높이가 결정된다. 이론적인 결과와 비교하기 위하여 퓰림처리된 AIST-2024 알루미늄 소재로 실험하였다.

A Study on Extrusion Forces in Hot Extursion of Al-Si Alloys (AI-Si 합금의 열간압출에 있어서 압출압력에 관한 연구)

  • To investigate that the theoretical formulas for extrusion forces are applicable to the manufacturing plant, the maximum extrusion forces were calculated from Siebel's and Geleji's formulas and also measured using 550 ton extrusion press. Parameters such as flow stress, $K_f$, angle of dead metal zone, $\alpha$ were obtained experimentally in order to calculate the maximum extrusion forces by the the theoretical formulas, and it was showed that the results were reliable as the deformation efficient factor, $\eta _f$ was determined to be less than 0.5. The maximum extrusion forces calculated from Siebel's formula and Geleji's formula for the angle of dead metal zone, $\alpha = 50^{\circ}$ were approached to the experimental results. However, it was found that Siebel's formula is more useful to apply to the manufacturing plant.

Techniques of Optimizing the Launching Nose under Conditions of Minimizing the Launching Bending Moment (압출가설시 발생하는 휨모멘트의 최소화 조건을 통한 압출노즈의 최적설계)

  • The behavior of nose-deck system during launch was examined by three dimensionless launching parameters, such as the relative flexural stiffness, the relative nose weight, and the relative nose length. The techniques of optimizing the launching nose were illustrated and equations of relationship between relative nose weight and relative nose length were derived under minimum conditions of the launching negative and positive moment. Equations of maximum positive and negative moment were suggested under the conditions. The optimum design method of the launching nose was proposed in launched continuous girder bridges. It was found that the ideal launching nose was to design that with the relative nose weight of 0.167 and the relative nose length of 0.836 to minimize absolute values of the positive and negative moment during launch.

A Study on the Elongation of Polymer Extrusion Film (고분자압출필름의 연신에 관한 연구)

  • Optimization of process parameters in polymer extrusion is an important task to reduce manufacturing cost. To determine the optimum values of the process parameters, it is essential to find their influence on the elongation of polymer breathable thin film. The significance of six important process parameters namely, extruder cylinder temperature, extruder speed, extruder dies temperature, cooling roll temperature, stretching ratio, stretching roll temperature on breathable film elongation of polymer extrusion was determined. Moreover, this paper presents the application of Taguchi method and analysis of variance(ANOVA) for maximization of the breathable film elongation influenced by extrusion parameters. The optimum parameter combination of extrusion process was obtained by using the analysis of signal-to-noise ratio. The conclusion revealed that stretching ratio were the most influential factor on the film elongation. The best results of film elongation were obtained at lower stretching ratio.

Effect of Number of Extrusions on Topokkidduk Quality (압출성형 횟수를 달리한 떡볶이 떡의 품질특성)

  • We investigated the quality of Topokkidduk created by an increasing number of extrusions (1,2, and 3 passes) using an extruder. The moisture content significantly increased with an increasing number of extrusions. The moisture content of Topokkidduk was highest at 50.8% (p<0.05) after 3 extrusions. A texture analyzer revealed that the hardness and chewiness of Topokkidduk was reduced and the cohesiveness was increased after more extrusions. Also, water absorption was reduced and solid content was increased after more extrusions. A sensory evaluation revealed that Topokkidduk after 2 extrusions (6.42 score) seemed better than other samples. Therefore, the moisture content, texture and sensory evaluation of Topokkidduk were most suitable after 2 pass extrusions.

  • 촉매 생산에서 마지막으로 중요한 단계는 촉매성형이다. 여기서 압출성형은 촉매 성형방법 중 저렴하고 비교적 간단한 방법 중 하나이다. 여기서 중요한 것은 바인더의 선택과 입자 사이즈가 가장 중요한 요인이 된다. 촉매 압출성형에서 많이 쓰이는 바인더로 PVA(Polyvinyl Alcohol)와 MC(Methyl Cellulose), CMC(Carboxymethyl Cellulose)가 있다. CMC 바인더의 경우, 촉매의 접착력이 현저히 떨어져 촉매의 바인더로 사용하기 어려웠다. PVA, MC 바인더의 경우, 촉매의 접착력이 우수하고 압출성형이 잘 되었다. 그러나 PVA 바인더의 경우, 열중량 분석을 통해 재 소성과정에서 바인더가 완전히 제거되지 않아서 촉매의 물성 변화 및 활성에 좋지 않은 영향을 주었다. 그러나 MC의 경우에는 재소성과정에서 바인더가 완전히 제거되어 촉매의 물성변화에 영향을 주지 않았으며, 촉매의 활성 변화에도 영향을 주지 않았다. 그래서 메탄 수증기 개질 촉매의 압출 성형에 적합한 바인더로 MC가 적합하다고 판단된다. 그리고 압출용 반죽 제조를 위한 미분쇄된 촉매 입자의 사이즈에서 너무 작은 입자를 사용하게 되면 반죽은 잘 되나 촉매의 물성변화로 인해 촉매 활성이 저하되는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그래서 볼밀로 정밀하게 입자 사이즈를 $10{\mu}m$ 이하로 조절하면 촉매 활성에 영향이 거의 없는 압출성형 촉매를 제조할 수 있다.
