Concrete strength relationship between various strength properties was presented through experimental data from concretes made from different sources of coarse aggregates and fine aggregates, and different amount of cement contents. In the strength relationship were included compression-flexure, compression-split tension, compression-modulus and flexure-split tension. A total of 61~81 data sets were analyzed while each data set is composed of 3 to 4 experimental test data. Using the proposed strength relations, a procedure to reliably estimate modulus values from the LTPP field test section was suggested. Core specimens were taken from 10 LTPP sections on the expressway as well as 4 sections on the national road. Then compressive strengths and modulus were determined in the lab. Finally concrete modulus was averaged with the estimated values by using the derived relationship and experimental values.
This paper investigates the relationships between dynamic elastic modulus and static elastic modulus or compressive strength according to curing temperature, aging, and cement type. Based on this investigation, the new model of the relationships we proposed. Impact echo method estimates the resonant frequency of specimens and uniaxial compression test measures the static elastic modulus and compressive strength. Type I and V cement concretes, which have the water-cement ratios of 0.40 and 0.50, are cured under the isothermal curing temperatures of 10, 23, and 50$\^{C}$ Cement type and aging have no large influence on the relationship between dynamic and static elastic modulus, but the ratio of dynamic and static elastic modulus comes close to 1 as temperature increases. Initial chord elastic modulus which is calculated at lower strain level of stress-strain curve, has the similar value to dynamic elastic modulus. The relationship between dynamic elastic modulus and compressive strength has the same tendency as the relationship between dynamic and static elastic modulus according to cement type, temperature and aging. The proposcd relationship equations between dynamic elastic modulus and static elastic modulus or compressive strength properly estimates the variation of relationships according to cement type md temperature.
For many years, the compressive strength of concrete has been regarded as an important index in determining concrete pavement quality. The compressive strength of the sample cores from the field has been used as quality index of concrete pavement. However, this process is time consuming and requires a lot of labor. Recently, the M-E Design Methodology in the pavement design based on the elastic modulus has been adopted. Therefore, several NDT methodologies have been adopted for QA/QC in the field and for the pavement design. Among various NDT methods, the wave propagation method can be used to measure the elastic modulus of concrete because the wave velocity is directly related to the elastic modulus. Therefore, in this study the wave propagation method was used for estimating the concrete modulus. The relationship between the compressive strength measured in he laboratory and the elastic modulus measured by the wave propagation method was analyzed, and the compressive strength was estimated from the elastic modulus for various mix types. The results showed that the relationship between the elastic modulus and the compressive strength was observed and the relationship varied depending on the aggregate types.
Most studies on mechanical properties of concrete with recycled aggregate was focused on the concrete with compressive strength of less than 40 MPa. Therefore, this paper concerns the compressive strength and mechanical properties of concrete with compressive strength of greater than 40 MPa containing recycled coarse aggregate (RCA). The experimental parameters were compressive strength level and replacement ratio of RCA. Compressive strength level was 45 and 60 MPa, and replacement ratio of RCA was 30, 50, 70 and 100%. The results of the test were discussed: compressive strength, elastic modulus, split tensile strength and modulus of rupture. Test results of elastic modulus were compared to the design code predictions. The design code predictions for elastic modulus overestimated the experimental results. However, the design code predictions for modulus of rupture were generally in agreement with the measured values.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to attain the correlation analysis and thereby to deduce the uniaxial compressive strength of rock specimens through the elastic wave velocity and the elastic modulus among the physical characteristics measured from the rock specimens collected during drilling investigations in Seoul and Gyeonggi region. Method: Experiments were conducted in the laboratory with 119 granite specimens in order to derive the correlation between the compressive strength of the rocks and elastic wave velocity and elastic modulus. Results: In the case of granite, the results of the analysis of the interaction between the compressive strength of a rock and the elastic wave velocity and elastic modulus were found to be less reliable in the relation equation as a whole. And it is believed that the estimation of the compressive strength by the elastic wave velocity and elastic modulus is less used because of the composition of non-homogeneous particles of granite. Conclusion: In this study, the analysis of correlation between the compressive strength of a rock and the elastic wave velocity and elastic modulus was performed with simple regression analysis and multiple regression analysis. The coefficient determination ($R^2$) of simple regression analysis was shown between 0.61 and 0.67. Multiple regression analysis was 0.71. Thus, using multiple regression analysis when estimating compressive strength can increase the reliability of the correlation. Also, in the future, a variety of statistical analysis techniques such as recovery analysis, and artificial neural network analysis, and big data analysis can lead to more reliable results when estimating the compressive sterength of a rock based on the elastic wave velocity and elastic modulus.

There are few attempts to estimate the strength and stiffness of controlled low strength material (CLSM) using existing field-testing methods. The objective of this study is to evaluate the resilient modulus of CLSM by using the Light Weight Deflectometer (LWD) and investigate the relationships between the resilient modulus from LWD and the unconfined compressive strength (UCS) and secant modulus of elasticity from unconfined compressive test. Five CLSMs with different mix designs are used to evaluate the flowability and the stiffening of the CLSM in the flow and Vicat needle tests, respectively. To evaluate the early strength and stiffness characteristics, unconfined compressive tests are performed using the CLSM specimens cured for 1 and 7 days. LWD tests are carried out to estimate the resilient modulus of the CLSM specimens. The experimental results show that for the curing time of 1 day, the UCS and secant modulus of elasticity generally increase with the fast setting mortar content (FC). The CLSM specimen with the highest FC shows the significant increase in the UCS and secant modulus of elasticity along the curing time. Overall, the resilient modulus for the curing time of 1 day increases with the FC, while that for the curing time of 7days decreases with an increase in the FC. From the results, the linear relationships between the resilient modulus and UCS and secant modulus of elasticity are established.

An experimental program was carried out to investigate the mechanical properties of high-strength concrete. High-strength concrete with compressive strengths of 80 to 120 MPa was tested. Test results are presented regarding effect of water-binder ratio on compressive strength and compressive strength gain. In addition, the effect of curing methods on compressive strength, elastic modulus, splitting tensile strength, and modulus of rupture is investigated. Test results of elastic modulus, splitting tensile strength, and modulus of rupture are compared with predictions from the current design recommendations. Predictions of elastic modulus by using KCI recommendation has good agreement with test results. However, predictions of modulus of rupture by using KCI recommendation underestimate the test results. ACI 363R recommendations predict well test results of splitting tensile strength and modulus of rupture. ACI 363R recommendations for predicting splitting tensile strength and modulus of rupture can be used for high-strength concrete with compressive strengths up to 120 MPa.

Recently, for UHPC (Ulta High Performance Concrete) which is researched actively, as the tensile strength is absolutely influenced on the content of steel fiber, in this paper, experiments of compressive strength, elasticity modulus and tensile strength were performed according to compressive strength and content of steel fiber as variables. By the test results, compressive strength, elasticity modulus and tensile strength are proportioned and have a good correlation and according to content of steel fiber, compressive and tensile strength are also proportioned and have a good correlation. In case of elasticity modulus, the difference between test and present design code is not large, so it is possible to adapt to present design code. On the other hand, in case of tensile strength, as there is no specification of present design code, new prediction equation is proposed by using nonlinear regression analysis and the proposed equation have a good correlation to test results.
The effect of steel-fiber contents on the compressive behavior of ultra high performance cementitious composites (UHPCC) was studied to propose a compressive behavior model for UHPCC. The experiments considered fiber contents of 0~5 vol.% and the results indicated that compressive strength and corresponding strain as well as elastic modulus were improved as the fiber contents increased. Compared to the previous study results obtained from concrete with compressive strength of 100MPa or less, the reinforcement effect on strength showed similar tendency, while the effect on the strain and elastic modulus were much less. Strength, strain, and elastic modulus according to the fiber contents were presented as a linear function of fiber reinforcement index (RI). Fiber reinforcement in UHPCC had no influence on the shape of compressive behavioral curve. Considering its effect on compressive strength, strain, and elastic modulus, a compressive stress-strain relation for UHPCC was proposed.

Impact echo method estimating the soundness of concrete measures the dynamic elastic modulus of specimens which are different with static elastic modulus tested by uni-axial compression test. Thus, this paper investigates the relationships between dynamic and static elastic modulus based on in-situ concrete cores. Also, dynamic elastic modulus was compared with compressive strength. Concrete cores were obtained from about 20 to 70 years concrete structures at three different harbors which were Incheon, Wando, and Masan in Korea. In order to investigate the influence of exposure condition on the relationship, air zone, splash zone, and tidal zone were selected. Different harbors showed the different relationships between dynamic and static elastic modulus, but exposure conditions have no influence on the relationship between dynamic and static elastic modulus. Also, the relationship between dynamic elastic modulus and compressive strength has the same tendency as the relationship between dynamic and static elastic modulus. The relationship equations were proposed to estimate the relationships properly.
