Experimental Study on the Adjustment Processes of a Series of Mining Pits in the Dredged Channels (준설하천에서 직렬로 배열된 웅덩이의 적응에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The adjustment processes and responses of a series of mining pits by sand or gravel mining were investigated by laboratory experiments. The filling processes of the two pits were affected by the bars developed in the upstream of the channel. However, the bars were not developed and the bed was degradated in the downstream of the pits due to little sediment flow, which was trapped in the pits. The submerged angle of repose in the pits was nearly constant when the pits were being filled. After the filling processes of the pits were finished, the pit was speedily filled with sediment, and the bed was aggradated and migrated with speed. However, the angle of repose decreased. As the distance between the upstream pit and the downstream pit increased, the bed of the pit downstream was tailcutted and degradated. The migration speed of the pit decreased. However, the dimensionless pit depth increased as the distance between the pits increased. The dimensionless pit depth increased with time.

  • For the application of the diffusion equation, slope height and maximum slope angle are calculated from the plotted slope profile. Using denudation rate as a solution for the diffusion equation, an apparent age index can be calculated, which is the total amount of denudation through total time. Plots of slope angle versus slope height and apparent age index versus slope height are useful for determining relative or absolute ages and denudation rates. Mathematical simulation plots of slope angle versus slope height can generate equal denudation-rate lines for a given age. Mathematical simulations of slope angle versus age for a given slope height, for equal denudation-rate at a particular profile site, and for comparing to other sites having controlled ages.

Autostereoscopic Multiview 3D Display System based on Volume Hologram (체적 홀로그램을 이용한 무안경 다안식 3D 디스플레이 시스템)

  • We present an autostereoscopic 3D display system using volume hologram. In this proposed system, the interference pattern of angular multiplexed plane reference and object beams are recorded into a volume hologram, which plays a role of guiding object beams of multi-view images into the desired perspective directions. For reconstruction, object beams containing the desired multi-view image information, which satisfy Bragg matching condition, are illuminated in the time-division multiplexed manner onto the crystal. Then multiple stereoscopic images are projected to the display plane for autostereoscopic 3D viewing. It is possible to make a high resolution multiview 3D display system independent upon the viewpoint.

  • A study has been carried out to estimate the average daily intakes of sorbates, benzoates, and and esters of $\rho$-hydroxybenzoic acid commonly used in Korea. The estimation of daily intakes was based on individual dietary intakes in “National Health and Nutrition Survey in 1998”and the the contents of preservatives from 264 samples. Estimated daily intakes(EDI) of sorbates, benzoates, esters of $\rho$-hydroxybenzoic acid were 0.22, 0.015, and 0.004 mg/kg bw/day, respectively. When assuming the standard body weight of 55 kg for Korean, ratios to acceptable daily intake (ADI) of sorbates, benzoates, and esters of $\rho$-hydroxybenzoic acid were 0.88, 0.30, and 0.04%, respectively.

  • 이안식 일체형 입체카메라는 줌인 시 고정된 컨버전스 포인트로 인해 촬영된 영상 시청할 때 어지러움을 유발하는 시각적 불편이 발생할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이안식 일체형 입체카메라에서 줌인 시 발생되는 시각적 불편을 방지하기 위해 제안된 컨버전스 포인트를 조정하는 기법을 실사로 촬영하고 각 기법 및 케이스별로 스테레오 분석을 실시한다. 이를 위해 포커스, 피사체 및 컨버전스 포인트의 위치에 따른 케이스와 각각의 간격 거리, 그리고 4가지 기법을 적용한 영상을 제작하여 스테레오 분석을 실시한다. 이로써 컨버전스 포인트를 조정하여 시각적 불편을 최소화하는 기법을 제안하고 제시한 깁법의 우수성을 입증한다.

  • 이안식 일체형 입체카메라는 줌인 시 고정된 컨버전스 포인트로 인해 촬영된 영상 시청할 때 어지러움을 유발하는 시각적 불편이 발생할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이안식 일체형 입체카메라에서 줌인 시 발생되는 시각적 불편을 최소화하기 위해 컨버전스 포인트 조정기법을 제안한다. 그리고 거리와 케이스에 따라 각 기법을 적용한 입체영상을 제작하고 피실험자를 통해 주관평가를 실시한다. 이 결과를 통해 제안된 컨버전스 포인트 이동기법의 비교를 통해 제시된 기법의 우수성을 입증한다.

Physical Properties of Red Pepper Powder at Different Particle Sizes (고춧가루의 입도별 물리적 특성)

  • We evaluated physical properties such as density, compressive characteristics, irrecoverable work, and stress relaxation of red pepper powder with different particle sizes. The particle sizes showed a normal distribution in size, with a particle size of $150{\sim}600{\mu}m$ accounting for 70.95% of the particles in the Hanbando cultivar and 82.21% in the Cheongyang cultivar. Loose bulk density ranged between 0.34 and $0.45g/cm^3$, while tapped bulk density ranged between 0.43 and $0.56g/cm^3$. The Hausner ratio was highest (1.531) at a particle size below $150{\mu}m$ in the Cheongyang cultivar. The compressibility and compression ratios were 0.001351~0.004383 and 1.0062~1.0265, respectively. Irrecoverable work ranged between 69.16% and 90.24%. The $K_2$ value and stress relaxation characteristics were greatest (1.74 and 44.92%, respectively) at particle sizes of $300{\sim}425{\mu}m$ in the Cheongyang cultivar. The dynamic angle of repose was $32.84-49.84^{\circ}$. Overall, particle sizes below $150{\mu}m$ had the highest compactibility, cohesiveness, and transformation.

  • This study investigated the physical properties of red pepper powders according to cultivation area and variety. Values for density, compressive characteristics, dynamic angle, irrecoverable work, and stress relaxation were analysed. Loose bulk density ranged between 0.40 and 0.50 g/$cm^3$, and tapped bulk density ranged between 0.49 and 0.67 g/$cm^3$. The highest Hausner ratio was 1.369 for PRmanitta cultivated in Eumseong and the lowest value of was 0.194 for Buchon cultivated in Yeongyang. Compressibility ranged between 0.0046 and 0.0092. The highest compression ratio was 1.040 for Myeongjak cultivated in Suwon, and the lowest value was 1.007 for Buchon cultivated in Yeongyang. Dynamic angles ranged between 35.14 and $41.70^{\circ}$. The highest irrecoverable work value was 79.9% for PRmanitta cultivated in Eumseong and the lowest value was 67.9% for Nokgwang cultivated in Suwon. The greatest $k_2$ and relaxation values of stress relaxation characteristics were 1.56 and 42.03%, respectively, for Cheongyang cultivated in Yeongyang.

Vergence Control Method of a Parallel-axis Stereo Camera (평행축 스테레오 카메라에서의 주시각 제어 방법)

  • 본 논문에서는 신호처리를 이용한 평행축 입체 카메라의 주시각 제어 방법을 제시한다. 평행축 입체 카메라는 양안식 입체 카메라 중 가장 간단하게 만들 수 있는 장점이 있는 반면에, 좌, 우 영상센서 사이의 거리가 일정하게 고정되어 있어, 물체의 거리 변화에 따른 입체 영상 시차 조절 기능인 주시각 제어 기능이 없다는 단점이 있다. 영상 센서 (CCD) 와 렌즈를 분리하고 영상 센서가 평행하게 수평으로 움직이며 주시각을 제어하도록 하는 수평 이동축 입체 카메라는 평행축 입체 카메라의 단점을 보완할 수 있지만, 실제 구현에 많은 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 주시각 제어를 위한 CCD의 이동은 실제 영상에서 피사체의 이동으로 나타난다는 사실을 이용하여, 평행축 입체 카메라로 얻은 영상에서, CCD의 이동으로 인해 사라지는 부분만큼 제거하고 영상의 수평 수직 방향에서 원래 영상의 크기로 복원하기 위해 보간하는 과정을 통해 주시각 제어를 구현한다. 제안된 방법을 통해 얻어진 실험 결과는 CCD의 이동량에 따라서 화질의 열화 정도가 다르게 나타남을 보여 주지만, 실제 시스템에서 CCD의 이동량은 크지 알기 때문에 화질 열화를 거의 느끼지 않으면서 주시각이 제어된 입체 영상을 얻을 수 있음을 보여준다.
