종속영양세균과 독립영양세균을 고정화한 Polyurethane Biofilter의 돈분뇨 악취제거 (Removal of Malodorous Gases from Swine Manure by a Polyurethane Biofilter Inoculated with Heterotrophic and Autotrophic Bacteria.)

  • Removal of malodorous gases from swine manure by a polyurethane biofilter inoculated with heterotrophic and autotrophic bacteria was investigated. Ammonia, hydrogen sulfide and other gases could be efficiently treated at 3~3.6 second of empty bed retention time by the polyurethane biofilter. In the range of SV $200~l,200h^{-1}$ , the average removal efficiency of odor was about 89% when the odor unit of inlet gas was below 4100. Odor elimination capacity of the polyurethane biofilter was$ 1.8$\times$10^{5}$ $~5.0$\times$10^{7}$OUㆍm$^{-3}$$h^{-1}$ that were 84~90% of the inlet load. The critical loads of $NH_3$ and $H_2$S, which mean 97% removal with respect to the inlet loads, were 31 and $27 g.m^{-3}$$h^{-1}$ , respectively. The maximum elimination capacities of $NH_3$ and $H_2$S were 56 and $157 gㆍm^{-3}$ ㆍh$^{-1}$ , respectively. Although the removability for$ NH_3$ and $H_2$S was not influenced by $H_2$S$NH_3$ ratio (ppmv/ppmv), the $H_2$S removability was inhibited by high $H_2$S concentration more than 80 ppmv.

순천박씨(順天朴氏) 시조묘출토(始祖墓出土) 복식(服飾) 보존처리(保存處理) (Conservation Treatment of the Textiles and Costumes Excavated from Soonchun Park's Tomb)

  • 본 논고는 충북 음성 소재 순천 박씨 시조묘에서 출토된 섬유류 유물의 보존처리에 관한 것이다. 조선시대 분묘에서 출토된 의복과 직물 등 섬유류 유물은 물에 흠뻑 젖어있었고 목관내에서 발생된 부패물질로 오염되어 심하게 악취가 풍기는 상태였다. 이들 유물을 증류수로 습식 세척하여 오염물을 제거한 후 실내에서 자연 건조하였고 이 과정에서 유물의 형태를 보정하였다. 손상부위는 얇은 견직물과 견사를 이용해 복원하였다. 처리를 마친 유물 중 의류는 오동나무로 만든 보관상자에 한 벌씩 수납하였으며 직물류는 지름 6 cm와 10 cm의 종이로 만든 원통에 감아 보관하였다. 이들 섬유류의 수납을 위한 방미처리(防黴處理)에는 티몰(thymol)을 사용하였다.

정화조의 효율적인 운영을 위한 실험적 고찰 (An Experimental Investigation for Efficient Operation of Septic Tank)

  • A septic tank is a purification treatment system where night soil and other waste matter is converted into harmless material by the activities of bacteria. Effluent from the septic tank flows into the sewer pipe, and then this effluent affects the quality of water environment and makes foul smell. In this study, through the proper maintenance of septic tank it was tried to minimize the impact of sewer pipe on water quality and fouling smell. BOD removal rate from the septic tank's effluent which exceeded legal cleaning period was investigated for the proper maintenance. BOD Removal rate of the twelve septic tank's effluent is -62.5% to 43.9%. According to the result of BOD removal rate, septic tank cleaning should be done at least once a year. And the pathogenic coliform bacillus in the twelve septic tank's effluent is average 768,000 (MPN/$100m{\ell}$). The chlorine disinfection is needed to remove the pathogenic coliform bacillus in septic tank effluent.

돈분의 퇴비화에 있어 악취 제거 기능성 물질의 첨가 효과 (Effects of Functional Ingredients Supplementation as a Bulking Agent in Composting of Swine Manure)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of functional ingredients with supplementation as a bulking agent in composting of swine manure. Treatments were T1 & T5 ; Swine mature+Vermiculite, T2 & T6 ; Swine manure+Perlite, T3 & T7 ; Swine manure+Vermiculite+Perlite, T4 & T8 ; Swine manure+Bark. T1, T2, T3 and T4 were supplemented with functional ingredients on d 0 of composting, T5, T6, T7 and T8 were supplemented with functional ingredients on d 3 of composting. Functional ingredients were Fermkito and Yucca. During the composting period, changes of temperature were showed traditionally composting trend. Volatile fatty acids were decreased regardless of treatments in functional ingredients supplementation. Organic matter, T-N and C/N ratio were showed higher bark treatments than other treatments. pH and EC were net differences among the treatments. P$_2$O$_{5}$ and $K_2$O were showed level of 1-3%. In heavy metal, Cr were showed higher in vermiculite treatment than other treatments. In conclusion, vermiculite and perlite treatments were greater composting effects than bark.

  • The odor occurring in the sewage system induces the displeasure, the disgust such as the headache, the vomit, etc. and increases the spiritual stress and disturbs the pleasant life of residents. These odors occur mainly in the area of combined sewage system treatment, being created in the personal sewage treatment plant such as septic tank and are incoming to sewage pipes and emitted to the outside through the manhole and the receiver, etc.; and this causes odors to the people. The Hydrogen Sulfide, the Methyl Mercaptan, the Ammonia, etc. are materials causing the odor, the more serious issue of odor is occurring since the septic tank of degradation process is being applied. The primary cause of odor is the decomposition of human feces in the septic tanks and sewage disposal facilities. The purpose of this study is reduction of hydrogen sulfide using air supplying and SOB(Sulfur-Oxidizing Bacteria). As a result of this study of the air supply system and the SOB media equipment by air supply, in case the air is injected to SOB media compared to the injection of air only, the removal efficiency the hydrogen sulfide was average 3.4 times higher.

페어웨이 지반 토양의 배수불량 원인분석과 개선방안 (Diagnosis and of Improvement of Brined Drainage Problems on Fairway Soil)

  • 경기도 여주군의 R골프장에서 페어웨이 건설 시 토양조사 및 적절한 토양개량이 실시되지 않아 배수불량지역의 발생한 것으로 한 것으로 분석되었다. 원인 분석결과 토양 경화로 인한 토양 물리성이 악화되어 있어, 투수에 의한 토양 하부층으로의 배수능력이 저조하여 배수 불량의 직접 원인이 되었다. 또 재배 지역의 토양과 이식 지역의 토성이 달라 이식 후 토양에 이질층이 형성되어 수분의 하층 이동이 원활하지 못해 배수 불량의 원인되고 잔디의 생육이 나빠지게 되었다. 배수불량의 결과로 인해 토양 내 산소가 부족하게 되어 토양이 환원 상태가 되면서 혐기성 미생물의 생육이 증가하고, 메탄가스가 축적되고 악취를 유발시키며 토양의 공기순환이 자유롭지 못해 식재된 잔디의 뿌리 생장에 악영향을 주어 결과적으로 잔디 생육이 불량하게 되는 연쇄적인 문제가 발생하였다. 골프장 운영 중 잔디 지반의 문제로 잔디 생육 불량을 초래 할 수 있는 여러 가지 요인들을 제거하기 위해 골프코스 건설시 모재 토양의 사전 조사 및 잔디 지반으로서의 적합성에 대하여 반드시 실험 분석하여야 하며, 건설 후 지반의 배수불량을 개선하기 위해서 배수구 설치, Sand capping, 잔디 보식, 토양개량재의 사용, 배토 등 경종적 관리 등의 방법을 이용하여 배수불량지역의 개선과 잔디생육 정상화를 시행하였다.

미생물 포괄고정화 담체를 적용한 파일럿 스케일 바이오필터에서의 복합악취 제거 (Complex odor removal in pilot-scale biofilter with microorganisms immobilized on polymer gel media)

  • A pilot-scale biofilter was constructed to discover degradation characteristics of the complex odor discharged from Ansan wastewater treatment plant. Candida tropicalis for volatile organic compounds, sulfur oxidizing bacteria(SOB) for hydrogen sulfide, and bacteria extracted from feces soil were immobilized on a polymer gel media. According to this study, the EBCT was varied from 36 sec to 18 sec. Toluene was removed as 80% along the variations, but it was recovered as 100% within 1 week. All benzene and xylene were removed during the operation while the efficiency of hydrogen sulfur was temporary decreased at 18 sec of EBCT, thereafter it was recovered to 100% within a week. The maximum elimination capacities of the benzene, toluene, xylene, and hydrogen sulfur were 6.6 g/$m^{3}$/hr, 31.7 g/$m^{3}$/hr, 7.8 g/$m^{3}$/hr, and 133.6 g/$m^{3}$/hr, respectively. There were merits on removal both organic and inorganic complex odor using the pilot-scale biofilter embedded with microorganisms immobilized on polymer gel media.

Thiobacillus sp. IW의 고정화특성에 관한 연구 (The Immobilization Characteristics of Thiobacillus sp. IW)

  • 황산화박테리아인 Thiobacillus sp. IW를 사용한 황함유악취 제거장치를 제작하기 위한 기초자료로서 균의 최적성장조건, 활성탄과 bioceramics에서의 고 정화특성을 조사하였다. Thiobacillus sp. IW는 최척 성장조건이 pH 7, $30^{\circ}C$이고, 이때 세대시간이 38 분으로 다른 황산화균에 비해 아주 빠른 성장속도를 보여주었다. 균의 최적성장조건은 활성탄을 담체로 사용할 경우 pH 5, $35^{\circ}C$였으며, bioceramic의 경우 pH 7~8, $35^{\circ}C$로 액상배양시와는 상이한 성장조건 을 보여주었다. pH, 온도의 변화에 대한 균의 성장은 활성단보다 bioceramics에서 보다 안정적이었고, 총균수도 많았다. 전체적으로 균의 성장속도면에서 는 bioceramics가 활성탄보다 우수한 담체로 사료된다.

항균제의 항균특성 및 악취제거 효과 (Antimicrobial Characterictics of Antimicrobial Agent (Antibiotics) and Reduction Effect on Mal-ordour.)

  • Various antimicrobial agents are widely used for the purpose of antimicrobial process. We investigated antimicrobial activity and reduction efficiency of mal-ordour by the diphenyl ether compound (2,4,4'- trichloro -2'- hydroxy diphenyl ether) against Sraphylocom aureus(S.aureus and Proton vulgaris(p.vulgaris causing the mal-ordour, Especially, the diphenyl ether compound is not restricted to the regulation of water-contamination. In this research, we found that the optimum concentration of diphenyl ether compound was 1.5w% for both strains and antimicrobial expressions were c0.38t= 2.56 for S.aureus, c0.38t=2.67 for P.vulgaris. We found also that -OH group played the role of antimicrobial functional group. Lastly, reduction effect of mal-ordour was more than 90% for both strain at the optimum conditions. 퇴비 및 폐타이어 Granule을 이용한 악취 제거 (Odor Removal by Using Compost and Granular Scrap Tires)

  • In spite of low energy requirement, and operation and construction cost, biofilters with soil beds have not been operated efficiently. Because of excess moisture in winter and rainy periods, saturated pores in the bed prevent passage and sorption of odorous compounds. Sometimes this results in septic conditions that release previously sorbed and oxidized sulfur. Therefore, an economical and effective alternative needs to be developed. The objectives of this study were to confirm applicability of the granular scrap tires with compost for treating odorous gas as well as to obtain optimum design parameters for proposed system. In lab-scaled test, multiple stage reactors had lower headloss than a single stage reactor and less headloss was occurred for the gas with higher moisture content. For practical purpose, pilot-scaled reactor was operated to remove odor from septic tank, manure and animal wastewater treatment plant and composting machine. According to the results of pilot scaled test, $H_2S$ can be always removed completely and ammonia/amine can be removed excellently when proper moisture content is provided. The results from lab and pilot test showed that granular scrap tire could be replaced with soil as supporting material for biofilter showed excellent drainage because of its ability to reject moisture.
