Digital braille music is an indispensible instrument for the blind persons to enjoy music and to proceed the more professional music education. Producing braille music requires professionals such as braille translators thereby it costs money for an individual to order braille music. Therefore, public libraries involve in producing and distributing braille music. Current status of digital braille music in Korea has been far from the fulfillment with the unmet needs of the blind people for diversity in their music preferences. This paper analyses the present condition of braille music possession in Korea National Library. Based on the analysis, policy proposals has been proposed.

Generating chord score based on melody is essential for composition and arrangement, while it is picky for amateurs who do not have harmonics knowledges. To solve this problem, we developed automatic chord score generating program, ACGP. Based on genetic algorithm, it successfully reflects diverse hormonic factors and the mood of the music. User interface was also implemented so that anyone can use the program conveniently. Additional analysis was conducted to prove the utility of ACGP.

음악을 더 재미있게! 더 편리하게! 종이악보에도 디지털 바람이 불었다. 그리고 그 바람의 선두에는 뮤즈북 스코어(www.musebook.co.kr)가 있다. 뮤즈북 스코어는 최근 개발 된 태블릿 PC를 이용해 수만 장의 악보를 저장해 연주할 수 있는 프로그램으로 음악인식기술을 이용한‘음악인식 전자악보’이다. 피아노 악보대에 종이악보 대신 태블릿 PC를 올려놓고 하드디스크에 저장된 MusicXLM 전자악보들을 마음대로 불러서 사용하는 뮤즈북 스코어는 피아노를 연주 하면 태블릿 PC의 마이크로 소리를 듣고 분석해 자동으로 페이지를 넘겨준다. 사용자의 연주속도 가 빨라지거나 느려지더라도 현재 연주위치를 계 속 추적하기 때문에 사용자는 연주에만 집중할 수 있다.

컴퓨터에 의한 음악의 처리가 점차 중요한 비중을 차지하여 감에 따라 음악의 신속, 정확한 입력이 크게 요구되고 있다. 서양의 음악을 악보화, 악보의 자동 인식에 관한 연구는 1960년대 후반부터 시작하여 지금은 다양한 악보를 인식하고, 악보를 미디로 변환하는 등 여러 부분에서 활용하고 있다. 그러나 우리의 전통음악을 우리 나라 악보인 정간보로 출력하는 시스템은 아직 존재하지 않는다. 그래서 본 논문에서는 세종 때부터 사용되었던 우리 나라 악보인 정간보에 대해 이해하고 컴퓨터를 통해 정간보를 입력할 수 있는 시스템을 설계 및 구현한다. 또한 사용자가 보다 쉽게 입력할 수 있도록 그래픽 유저 인터페이스(Graphic User Interface)형태로 제공하였다. 제안하는 정간보 이력 에디터 시스템 구현으로 우리 음악을 정간보로 체계적으로 관리할 수 있고 정간보 데이터 베이스(Data Base)가 구축이 되면 국악의 신속한 정보 검색이 가능하다. 향후 정간보 시스템이 체계화되면 우리 음악을 서양의 악보화로, 악보를 미디로 등의 변환이 가능하며 음악 애호가들은 약간 기억나는 악절을 기준으로 곡을 작곡할 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study aims to present the base for the rational management of printed music as an important primary source of music materials. In this study, therefore, the selection and acquisition, organization, user services for the management of printed music are investigated. Then the present situation for management of printed music of university libraries in Daejeon and Chungnam are surveyed. Finally, the special issues to be considered in the management of printed music are presented.

The study focused on the printed sheet music delivering the classical music contents in the view of the media. Media scholar Marshall Mcluhan declared that the media is not just simple tool of delivery but is the main subject affecting the human perception and the content itself. The music media, sheet music invented by the development of the printing technique allowed the massive production and it generalized the classical music contents. However, the editing, the mandatory process for sheet music, created the editors who are standardizing and visualizing the music contents and until today, the sheet music delivers the editor's interpretation rather than the composer's. To prove this notion, the study will compare the manuscript and sheet music of Unaccompanied Violin Sonata no. 3 'Fugue' by J. S Bach and will discuss about the compatibility of the sheet music as the music media now.

In this paper, we propose a technique to represent a sheet music effectively on the Internet. For representing the Internet sheet music, this paper proposes the ScoreML(Score Markup Language) which is a new markup language based on XML, and describes the design of the XML DTD which defines the ScoreML. XML DTD constructing the ScoreML is designed to be able to represent various features of a sheet music in order to retrieve the real sheet music on the Internet. The sheet music built by the ScoreML is directly displayed on the Internet by ScoreML browser which is implemented in the form of Java applet.

시각장애자들이 음악을 듣고 음악에 대한 공부를 하기 위해서는 점자악보를 통하여서만이 가능하다. 그러나 이러한 점자악보를 만들기 위해서는 점역사를 통한 주문제작 방법 밖에는 없는 실정이다. 국내의 몇 안되는 점역사를 통해서 한곡의 점자악보를 얻기까지는 한달여의 기간과 많은 비용이 든다. 이러한 열악할 환경으로 인하여 시각장애자들이 음악을 공부하거나 전공하기에는 너무나 힘들 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 시각장애자들이 음악을 접할 수 있고 공부할 수 있도록 시간적, 비용적 측면에서 도움을 주기 위한 점자악보 생성 컴파일러에 대한 구현 내용을 기술한다. 점자악보 생성기는 기존의 컴퓨터에서 음악을 듣기위한 미디 파일을 입력으로 받아들여 점자 편집기에서 점자 변환에 사용되는 아스키 코드로 출력하여 시각장애자가 원하는 곡의 점자악보를 받는데 드는 비용과 시간을 절약할수 있도록 도와준다.

This paper presents techniques to recognize music using back propagation network one of the neural network algorithms, and to preprocess technique for music mage. Music symbols and music notes are segmented by preprocessing such as binarization, slope correction, staff line removing, etc. Segmented music symbols and music notes are recognized by music note recognizing network and non-music note recognizing network. We proved correctness of proposed music recognition algorithm though experiments and analysis with various kind of musics.

기존의 전자악보들은 복잡한 인터페이스를 가지고 있어 사용하는데 불편하다는 단점이 있었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 기존의 전자악보 시스템들을 비교 분석하여 보다 전문적인 기능을 가지고 있으면서도 쉽게 사용할 수 있으며, 더 효율적인 연주를 할 수 있는 Two-Panel 구조의 전자악보 시스템의 인터페이스를 설계하였다.
