  • This study aims to identify the effects of factors on aggression in adolescents, focusing on the individual, parent, friend factors and SNS usage. In particular, this study is to provide a basis for easing aggression in adolescence by considering the emotional relationship of parents and friends. This study analyzed frequency, t-test, one-way batch distribution analysis(ANOVA), and multi-linear regression, using the data from the 7th year of the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey. As a result, adolescents who frequently use SNS are more aggressive than adolescents who use less. Among the parental factors, the more abuse and excessive interference were found to be more aggressive, and the higher the coach, the lower the aggressiveness. Furthermore, among the friend factors, it has been shown that the higher the alienation, the more aggressive adolescents are. In order to reduce aggression among adolescents, it is necessary to prepare an integrated program considering the emotional relationship of parents and friends, who are the most influential neighbors, rather than simply restricting the use of SNS.

  • In contemporary South Korea, ultra-low birth rates have become a critical social issue. Equally important is the social responsibility to support the healthy physical and mental development of children. This study aimed to assess the children and adolescents related to online health information available on the websites of 17 metropolitan representative libraries in South Korea. Using literature review and content analysis methodologies, the study found that only two libraries (11.8%) offered 32 health-related resources for children and adolescents through their library websites. Of these resources, 25 (78.1%) were provided by public health centers, while hospitals contributed six resources (18.8%), and public institutions provided two resources (6.3%). Additionally, an evaluation of these 32 health information resources using the HON code, a recognized tool for assessing online health information, revealed relatively low satisfaction in areas such as "complementarity," "attribution," "transparency of authorship," and "honesty in advertising and editorial policy." Furthermore, the researcher conducted a comparative evaluation of children and adolescent health information resources available through the search engines Naver and Google in Korea. Based on these findings, the study outlines recommendations for improving online health information services related to children and adolescents.

  • This study aimed to explore the influence of family characteristics on the work-life balance of early adolescents. A series of data analyses was conducted on adolescents' use of time in daily life on the basis of 2018 Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS 2018). We found that the work-life balance of youth is related to their parents' health status, presence of older siblings, household income, parenting attitude, parent-child communication time, and mother's occupation. The work-life balance of the fifth graders is more likely to be influenced by family characteristics compared with that of the eighth graders. In particular, the fifth graders' sleep deprivation is affected by the mother's occupation, but there is no significant effect on the eighth graders' sleep deprivation. An important factor in skipping breakfast is household income, with adolescents from low-income families tending to skip breakfast more than five days a week. In addition, parents' health status and parenting attitude are significantly related to skipping of breakfast in early adolescents. Household income is related to the after-school private tutoring hours of both the fifth and eighth graders; however, parenting attitude and mother's occupation are also significant influencing factors of the fifth graders' after-school study. Mother's occupation is related to excessive cell phone use; specifically, the fifth graders whose mothers work white-collar jobs, sales and services or manufacturing are more likely to play with cell phones more than three hours a day than those whose mothers are full-time housewives. These results suggest that the work-life balance policies targeted at the family characteristics of adolescents can improve family environments in a manner that enhances adolescents' life balance, thus supporting the well-being of early adolescents and their families.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the research trend of forest play. The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for the vitalization of forest play research by analyzing the research period, research content, and research methods. For this study, 57 domestic master's and doctoral dissertations were extracted through the National Assembly Library and the Research Information Sharing Service(RISS) with the keywords of 'forest', 'play', and 'forest play'. The frequency and percentage were calculated by analyzing forest play research based on four criteria: research period, research content, research method, and research subject. As a result of the research, first, the trend of forest play research by period is from 2011 to 2021, with 49 articles (85.9%) for master's degrees and 8 articles (14.1%) for doctor's degrees. Second, the trend by research content was found to be 16 basic studies (28.1%) and 41 practical studies (71.9%). Forest play research is being actively conducted centered on practical research. Third, the trends by research method were in the order of 39 quantitative studies (68.4%), 17 qualitative studies (29.8%), and 1 literature study (1.8%). Forest play research is focused on quantitative research, and comparatively qualitative research and literature research account for a low proportion. Fourth, the trend by study subject was 56 single subject studies (98.2%). The single subjects were 52 children (91.2%), 3 teachers (5.2%), and 1 parent (1.8%). As for the mixed subjects, there is one study (1.8%) targeting children and parents, and it is necessary to conduct a study with mixed subjects. As for the study of material subjects, 42 articles (73.7%) in the natural environment, 13 articles (22.8%) in educational institutions, and 2 articles (3.5%) in the media were found in the order. Research on the home environment related to forest play is insufficient, so research on parents, children-parents, and home environment related to forest play should be conducted in the future.

  • The importance regarding the notion of immediate medical treatment and nursing for the victims of sexual crimes is not widely recognized yet in Korea. Throughout this research is focused on the nursing systems and the system of foreign countries in reference to sexual crime victims, and the conclusion is as follows. In Korea, there are currently no educational or medical institutes for the medical handling for the victims of sexual crimes, and the role of nurses in the medical institutes is insufficient. In addition, the basis for the standard of operation regarding the initial response, evidence collection, pursuit of systematical evidence and data is not established even in the sexual assault counseling/advocacy center. Therefore, it is necessary to foster the sexual assault nurse examiner for the sexual crime victims, and to develop adequate training programs based on the present situation in Korea. Though the cooperation among government, medical institutes, and social movement groups, it is essential to initiate effective and publicly-trusted specialized training programs for forensic nurses who will be fully charged with the treatment of sexual crime victims. By introducing the sexual assault nurse examiner system, it can be possible to develop advanced treatment for the child or adolescent victims of sex crimes.
