  • With the increasing popularity of dental CAD / CAM, the kinds of materials that can be used and the range that can be utilized are also increasing. One of the biggest advantages of a dental CADCAM is that you can make a final prosthesis with one visit, but in case of zirconia or a complex aesthetic prosthesis, it is often difficult to make it in one day. In this case, temporary PMMA material can be used to provide a temporary crown with aesthetic and functional properties to the patient and can be used as a test crown or template for the final prosthesis. And if you are with a 5-axis milling machine in a clinic, you can make a temporary crown precisely to a large extent in a short time. In this article, various applications and clinical cases of PMMA temporary crown in the clinic will be presented.

  • Recently, according to the concept of minimal invasive, there have been many opportunities for restoration treatment with porcelain laminate veneers that are less invasive and can ideally improve esthetics. Patients also visit the laminate well, and patients also want to reduce the amount of teeth cut, so the choice of the entire trimming crown is decreasing. Therefore, various techniques of laminate are required. Most dental clinicians seem to have negative images of laminates such as risk of fracture, margin pigmentation and dropout. However, this situation is due to incorrect adhesion manipulation and lack of inspection of the occlusal relationship, and there is no problem with the Porcelain Laminate Veneer itself. The purpose and scope of adaptation leading to the success of porcelain laminate veneer will be introduced.

Anterior esthetic restoration using DSD (digital smile design) for a patient with congenital missing tooth of maxillary central incisor (선천적 상악 우측 중절치 결손 환자에서 DSD (digital smile design)를 이용한 전치부 수복 증례)

  • The prosthodontic treatments in maxillary anterior teeth focus on achieving esthetic appearances. It is possible to improve the esthetic appearance by adjusting the shape, arrangement, and color of the maxillary anterior teeth. For anterior teeth restoration, it is necessary to evaluate the relationship of teeth, lip and gingival architecture with the facial profile of patient. Also, clinician needs to fully understand what the patient wants to. DSD (digital smile design) concept can be applied as a tool to improve communication with the clinician, technician and patient. In addition, DSD can help to meet the needs of the patient. In this case, it was impossible to achieve symmetry due to congenital missing of maxillary central incisor. The definitive treatment goal was to get the harmony of maxillary anterior teeth, lip and the patient's face. This case report describes that the patient and clinician got the satisfying esthetic outcome by using DSD.
