The Development of Laboratory Instruction Classification Scheme (실험수업 유형 분류틀 개발)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a classification scheme for laboratory instruction, which could occupy a central and distinctive role in science education. For this study, literature on laboratory instruction types were analyzed. Utilizing several of these theoretical frameworks, a Classification Scheme for Laboratory Instruction (CSLI), which clearly represents various features of laboratory instruction, was created. The developed CSLI consisted of two descriptors: one is the procedure for laboratory instruction, and the other is a way of approach. The procedure is either designed by the students or provided for them from an external source. A dichotomy also exists for the approach taken toward the activity: deductive or inductive. Validity was established for the CSLI. In addition, laboratory instruction according to CSLI was divided into four types: verification, discovery, exploratory, and investigation. Although this study demonstrated only limited features of laboratory instruction due to the absence of a field test, it serves as a model for more comprehensive studies.

Importance Sampling Embedded Experimental Frame Design for Efficient Monte Carlo Simulation (효율적인 몬테 칼로 시뮬레이션을 위한 중요 샘플링 기법이 내장된 실험 틀 설계)

  • This paper presents an importance sampling(IS) embedded experimental frame(EF) design for efficient Monte Carlo (MC) simulation. To achieve IS principles, the proposed EF contains two embedded sub-models, which are classified into Importance Sampler(IS) and Bias Compensator(BC) models. The IS and BC models stand between the existing system model and EF, which leads to enhancement of model reusability. Furthermore, the proposed EF enables to achieve fast stochastic simulation as compared with the crude MC technique. From the abstract two case studies with the utilization of the proposed EF, we can gain interesting experimental results regarding remarkable enhancement of simulation performance. Finally, we expect that this work will serve various content areas for enhancing simulation performance, and besides, it will be utilized as a tool to understand and analyze social phenomena.

Study on Topographical Changes by Frame of Wooden Groyne at the Riparian of the Pyungchang River (유도틀 설치에 따른 평창강 수변의 지형변화 연구)

  • 최근 치수의 기능을 수행하면서 원래 자연하천의 모습을 보전 혹은 복원하는 "생태하천 복원 공법"의 필요성이 대두되고 있으나 구체적인 공법에 대한 연구는 미미한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 하천 내 시설물의 조성 시 유황에 따른 자연 하안 유도와 습지형태의 생물 서식공간 조성 유무를 평가하기 위하여 평창강 일원에 목재 유도틀을 설치하고 이에 따른 지형변화, 저서무척추동물을 포함한 수생생물들의 서식특성을 분석하였다. 평창강 금당계곡 일원을 대상으로 RMA-2 모형의 범용프로그램인 SMS 모형을 통해 수리 특성분석을 실시하였고 안산에 있는 수리모형 실험장에서 기본 수리특성 실험 후 수리적 안정성이 확보된 지점에 목재 유도틀을 2009년 9월에 설치하여 유도틀 설치 전과 설치 후 2010년 10월까지의 지형변화를 분석하였다. 지형의 측량은 광파측정기(니콘 DTM-520)로 하였으며 측량된 자료를 이용하여 Contour Map을 작성하여 지형변화를 분석하였고, 유도틀 설치지역을 중심으로 2010년에 3차에 걸쳐 지형 및 생물상 변화에 대한 정량 및 정성조사를 실시하여 비교분석 하였다. 유도틀 설치 후 2010년 하절기에 집중호우에 의한 유도틀의 파손 및 형태변형 등 문제가 없어 수리적으로 안정한 것으로 판단되었다. 지형 변화의 측면에서는 유도틀 조성 전 사질로 되어있던 단순한 선형의 하안이 유도틀 설치 후 다양한 하상재질 및 형태가 변화했으며 유도틀의 배치에 따라서 굼치 및 둠벙형 습지가 형성되었다. 유도틀 설치지역의 3개지점(상부, 중간배후습지, 하부)에서 저서무척추동물에 대하여 모니터링한 결과, 설치된 유도틀의 중간지점에서 가장 높게 종의 서식이 확인되었으며 상부지점과 하부지점은 상대적으로 낮게 나왔으나 상부지점 보다는 하부지점이 양호하게 나타났다. 조사시기별 개체수의 변화에서는 종수변화와 패턴이 유사하게 나타났으며 깔다구와 꼬마줄날도래등 특정종의 증식이 많았다. 또한, 굼치 및 둠벙형 습지 내에 어류의 치어 및 유어, 양서류, 파충류등 다양한 생물의 서식이 확인되었다. 이는 유도틀에 의해 생성 및 유도된 지형변화가 하천을 기반으로 생활하는 생물들에게 다양한 피난처 및 은신처 역할을 잘 제공하고 있음을 보여준다.

The Relationship between the Perception of Pre-Service Elementary School Teachers' 'Scientific Creativity' and 'Scientific Creativity Education': Focus on Creativity 'within a Frame' and 'between Frames' (예비초등교사의 '과학 창의성'과 '과학 창의성 교육'에 대한 인식의 연관성 -틀 내 및 틀 간 창의성을 중심으로-)

  • In this study, the relationship between the perception of 'scientific creativity' and 'scientific creativity education' of pre-service elementary school teachers was explored, focusing on the creativity within and between the framework. Within-frame creativity is divided into theoretical creativity and experimental creativity that operate within the paradigm, and between-frame creativity refers to theoretical creativity that brings about paradigm shift. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, and the analysis was performed based on the categories within and between the frames. As a result, pre-service elementary school teachers mainly understood scientific creativity as the scientific creativity within a frame. And they consider scientific creativity in various ways in experimental and theoretical creativity aspects within a frame. On the other hand, they thought that scientific creativity education was possible in terms of experimental creativity within a frame. Based on the results of this study, we would like to discuss the attributes of scientific creativity that can be considered in science education and its educational direction.

  • In this paper deformation of micro-mechanical parameters such as tow interval, tow thickness and change in tow amplitude are investigated by using dry fabrics (Five-harness satin weave) under shear deformation. To evaluate the observation results according to the generated in-plane forces in the material, bias extension, biaxial test results are compared with. It was found that a picture frame test with a misaligned fibre orientation angle shows large differences in deformation between tensile and compressive tow directions.

Design of Measuring Trays in the Irrigation System Using Drainage Electrodes for Tomato Perlite Bed Culture (토마토 펄라이트 베드재배시 배액전극 제어법에 적합한 측정틀 설계)

  • Measuring tray as a component in irrigation control system using drainage electrodes was designed and applied for tomato perlite bed culture, and the effectiveness of the irrigation control system was investigated in terms of cultural development and cultivation costs. Five different types of measuring trays equipped with drainage electrodes were tested and the traditional tray was used as the control equipped with time clock. After the first experiment, "Tube-2" was removed because of instability of water content in the substrate. After second experiment, "Tube-1" was removed because of instability of water content in the substrate and low plant yields. In third experiment, "Up-Board" exhibited the best stability in water contents and yields as well as efficiencies in water and fertilizer utilization. The "Up-Board" was the most economical and the easiest system among the tested trays. Therefore, the "Up-Board" system was concluded as the excellent design to apply for the control method using drainage electrodes for tomato perlite bed culture.

Facile Fabrication of Animal-Specific Positioning Molds For Multi-modality Molecular Imaging (다중 분자 영상을 위한 간편한 동물 특이적 자세 고정틀의 제작)

  • Purpose: Recently multi-modal imaging system has become widely adopted in molecular imaging. We tried to fabricate animal-specific positioning molds for PET/MR fusion imaging using easily available molding clay and rapid foam. The animal-specific positioning molds provide immobilization and reproducible positioning of small animal. Herein, we have compared fiber-based molding clay with rapid foam in fabricating the molds of experimental animal. Materials and Methods: The round bottomed-acrylic frame, which fitted into microPET gantry, was prepared at first. The experimental mice was anesthetized and placed on the mold for positioning. Rapid foam and fiber-based clay were used to fabricate the mold. In case of both rapid foam and the clay, the experimental animal needs to be pushed down smoothly into the mold for positioning. However, after the mouse was removed, the fabricated clay needed to be dried completely at $60^{\circ}C$ in oven overnight for hardening. Four sealed pipet tips containing $[^{18}F]FDG$ solution were used as fiduciary markers. After injection of $[^{18}F]FDG$ via tail vein, microPET scanning was performed. Successively, MRI scanning was followed in the same animal. Results: Animal-specific positioning molds were fabricated using rapid foam and fiber-based molding clay for multimodality imaging. Functional and anatomical images were obtained with microPET and MRI, respectively. The fused PET/MR images were obtained using freely available AMIDE program. Conclusion: Animal-specific molds were successfully prepared using easily available rapid foam, molding clay and disposable pipet tips. Thanks to animal-specific molds, fusion images of PET and MR were co-registered with negligible misalignment.

Development of an Error-Type Analysis Frame and Analysis of High School Students' Error-Types in Observation Behavior Using Microscopes (고등학생의 현미경 관찰 활동에 대한 결과 보고 오류 유형 분석틀의 고안 및 오류 유형 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the analysis frame of reporting observation results by high school students in biology experiments using microscopes and analyze their error types. For this study, five experiments were carried out by 12 high school students in B metropolitan city. Before these experiments, developed the analysis frame of reporting observation results. Tests for checking prior knowledge of students were done and results of each experiment were taken picture of. Using the developed framework, the real results and reported results submitted by students were analyzed. The result of this study shows how students report their observation results and they tend to have difficulty in doing observation activity itself. The ratio of factual reports is low because observation ways and recording ways have not been taught properly. Observation training is needed for observing real results objectively. The improvement in experiment environment is necessary for right observation, not observation for checking based on only results. In addition, the education of ethics in science research focusing on the integrity should be performed. The analysis data of reporting observation result by students can be used as basic data for teachers to plan observation strategies and to have right observation views and ways.

  • 본 연구에서는 침수된 저압 지중함에서 발생될 수 있는 누전 사고시 지중함내의 접지조건이 주변의 대지전위분포에 미치는 영향을 고찰하였다. 저압 지중함 실증실험장을 설계 구축하였으며 3가지 접지조건의 경우에 대해 대지전위 측정 실험을 실시하였다. case 1과 case2와 같은 실증실험을 통해 저압 지중함에 설치되어 있는 접지선은 저압 지중함에서 대지전위 분포에 거의 영향이 없음을 확인하였으며, case 3과 같은 실증실험을 통해 저압 지중함 철재틀에 접지단자를 본딩 할 경우 저압 지중함 주변의 대지전위 상승이 거의 발생되지 않음을 확인하였다. 따라서 저압 지중함 철재틀에 접지단자를 본딩 할 경우 혹시 발생될 수 있는 지중함의 누전에 의한 감전사고를 매우 효과적으로 방지할 수 있을 것이다.
