Design of Torso Patterns for Middle Aged Women (중년여성을 위한 토루소 원형 설계에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구는 중년여성의 상반신을 대상으로 기존원형에 대한 평가를 실시한 후 이를 기본으로 제도법을 수정·보완하여 중년여성 체형에 맞는 상반신 토루소 연구원형을 제작하기 위한 목적으로 연구되었다. 연구 대상은 35세에서 59세의 중년여성으로 하였으며, 45세를 전후로 체형이 변한다는 선행 연구를 토대로 중년 전기(35세∼45세), 중년 후기(46세∼59세)로 나눠 연구하였다. 연구원형 제작을 위해서 97년 국민체위조사보고 자료에 나온 35세∼59세에 해당하는 신체치수를 사용하여 대학에서 교재로 사용되고 있는 4가지 원형을 설계하고 이를 CADsystem을 이용하여 각 Pattern간의 차이를 정확하게 비교하고, 4가지 원형의 실험복을 제작하여 착의 실험을 통해 객관적 평가 11항목, 주관적 평가 23항목에 대해 설문 조사를 하여 문제점을 파악하였다. 이를 기초로 연구원형을 제작하였고 제작 후 연구원형의 신체 적합성을 알아보기 위해 기존원형과 마찬가지로 착의 실험을 하여 평가하였다. 실험 결과 기존원형들이 착용시 진동부분과 뒤중심부분의 당김으로 인해 착용자가 불편함을 느끼는 것으로 나타났고 외관상으로는 가슴둘레와 엉덩이둘레 부분에 여유분량이 중년여성 체형에 비해 상대적으로 적었으며 가슴선, 허리선, 엉덩이선의 위치 역시 중년여성의 체형과는 맞지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 대체로 중년 전기에 비해 중년 후기에서 수정 보완이 더 요구되었는데 특히 나이가 들수록 등이 뒤로 젖혀지는 현상으로 인해 측면에서 봤을 때 허리가 들어가는 현상이 두드러져 뒤 허리부분의 수정이 요구되었다. 이에 연구원형에서는 기존원형에서 나타났던 가슴선, 허리선, 엉덩이선의 위치 조절을 위해 앞목기준선을 위로 2cm 올려 주었고 가슴둘레와 엉덩이둘레 부분에 여유분을 각각 2cm더 주어 제작하였으며 중년 후기에서 두드러지게 나타났던 뒤허리부분의 문제점을 허리중심선 설정시 1∼2cm안쪽으로 설정하여 체형변화를 반영하였다. 이에 따른 연구원형에 대한 주관적·객관적 착의 평가 결과는 착용시 기존원형에서 나타났던 진동부분과 뒤중심부분의 당김이 없어지고 외관상 가슴선, 허리선, 엉덩이선이 기존원형보다 개선된 것으로 나타났으며, 전체적인 외관에서도 전·후기 모두 기존원형 보다 좋은 것으로 평가되었다.

  • This study was accomplished to analysis and survey on the experimental and practical science education of high school in korea for the consecutive study of the an analysis and survey on the experimental and practical science education of middle school in korea(Lee, Yoon-Jong et aI., 1997). The status of facilities, management for the experiment, practices, teaching methods in high schools have been investigated. The present status and reasonable management of the high school science education have been grasped from the questionaires. To do this 165 high school science teachers, 1977 students and 80 principals of high schools in Korea are administered questionaires of Science Education Research Institute of Kyungpook National University(I997). The results of this study are as follows : The reasonable management for experiments and practices of science education were scanty in the high school around the urban and rural school owing to the shortage of facilities and equipments, crowded class, excessive class works for teacher, excessive contents of present textbooks and insufficiency of the administrative supports etc. The current teaching method of high school science has emphasized knowledge. This fact does not satisfy the objective of learning due to lack of the teaching method. Desirable directions for the improvement of present status of high school science education were proposed in this paper.

The Study on the Effects of English for Specific Purposes for Korean University Students (한국대학생들의 특수 목적 관련 교양영어수업에 관한 연구)

  • This study is a report of an intensive ESP(English for Specific Purposes) program conducted for the College of Economic students in Korean University. This is planned for the students to enhance their English achievement in comprehending the subject contents which they would learn in the near future. In order to determine whether the course helped the students enhance their English achievement or not, a pre and post test were taken, one at the beginning of the semester and the other at the end of semester. The result of the test shows that this program benefits relevant students, especially lower level students. In accordance with a general accepted view, the English for Specific Purposes(ESP) program is generally targeted for students who expect to learn the basic knowledge of English through mediated courses. Since students already have specific purpose of studying for their major courses, their motivation and interest in the course are higher than the students who don't have any specific purpose. Therefore, this study shows that the students who took English for Specific Purposes(ESP) had higher motivation and interest to study English related to their major courses as the test results were higher than before they had taken the English for Specific Purposes (ESP) program.

How Can We Improve the Lesson on Seasonal Change?

  • This study is to investigate preconception of elementary school students and Belizean elementary school teachers and to devise experiment to understand a cause of seasonal change. An open-ended questionnaire and interviews were conducted for 91 6th grade students who didn't learn seasonal change and 10 Belizean teachers to find out preconception of seasonal change and they were categorized by using inductive analysis. They thought that the Earth's rotation, the distance between the Sun and the Earth, the Earth's revolution, pollution and climate change cause seasonal change. And it found out that these misconceptions come from difficulty in awareness of space and impreciseness of textbooks and books and so on. The experiment was designed to correct inaccurate preconception and to improve lessons of seasonal change. It is to measure a meridian altitude and a length of daytime and nighttime and to compare them. This experiment can help to understand the cause of seasonal change by measuring natural phenomenons like the meridian altitude and the change of length of daytime by model.

Effects of a Simulation-based Stroke Care Education on Nursing Performance Ability and Satisfaction in Nursing Students (뇌졸중 대상자간호 시뮬레이션 교육이 간호학생의 수행능력과 만족도에 미치는 효과)

  • The aim of the study was to verify the effects of simulation-based stroke care education on the nursing performance ability and satisfaction among nursing students. The study used a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. A total of 64 nursing students in a nursing college participated in this study. The participants were assigned conveniently according to the academic year to either the experimental group in 2013 (n = 32) or control group in 2014 (n = 32). The experimental group received a simulation-based stroke care education, and the control group received a clinical placement with self-directed practicum. The data was analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test. The results showed that the scores of the overall nursing performance ability (z = -3.373, p < .001) and satisfaction (z = -3.245, p = .001) in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group. Overall, simulation-based stroke care education is an effective teaching strategy of improving the nursing performance ability and satisfaction among nursing students.

Study on the Volume of a Sphere in the Historical Perspective and its Didactical Implications (구의 부피에 대한 수학사적 고찰 및 교수학적 함의)

  • This study aims to investigate the evolution of calculating the volume of a sphere in eastern and western mathematical history. In western case, Archimedes', Cavalieri's and Kepler's approaches, and in eastern case, Nine Chapters';, Liu Hui's and Zus' approaches are worthy of noting. The common idea of most of these approaches is the infinitesimal concept corresponding to Cavalieri's or Liu-Zu's principle which would developed to the basic idea of Calculus. So this study proposes an alternative to organization of math-textbooks or instructional procedures for teaching the volume of a sphere based on the principle.

A Study on Classification into Hangeul and Hanja in Text Area of Printed Document (인쇄체 문서의 문자영역에서 한글과 한자의 구별에 관한 연구)

  • This paper propose an algorithm for preprocessing of character recognition, which classify characters into Hangeul and Hanja. In this study, we use the 9 structural chacteristics of Hanja which isn't affected by deformation of size and style of characters and rates based on character size to classify characters. Firstly, we process the blocking to segment each characters. Secondly, on this segmented characters, we apply algorithm proposed in this paper to classify Hangeul and Hanja. Finally, we classify characters into Hangeul and Hanja, respectively. An experiment with 2350 Hangeul and 4888 Hanja printed Gothic and Mincho style of KS-C 5601 are carried out. We experiment on typeface sample book, newspapers, academic society's papers, magazines, textbooks and documents written out word processor to obtain the classifying rates of 98.8%, 92%, 96%, 98% and 98%, respectively.

  • 어린이천문대는 2003년부터 15년간 어린이들의 천문지식 함양과 과학탐구 능력의 향상을 도모하기 위해 수준별 3단계 프로그램을 연구 개발해왔다. 우리의 3단계 천문교육 시스템은 저학년을 대상으로 한 체험교실, 고학년을 대상으로 한 탐구교실, 그리고 탐구교실을 수료한 학생들을 위한 심화 단계인 테마교실로 이루어져 있다. 단계별 교재, 교보재, 관측실험 및 시각자료의 개발을 통해 프로그램의 완성도를 높여왔다. 우리의 천문교육 프로그램으로 교육된 누적 인원은 모두 67986명(2018년 3월 31일 기준)에 달한다. 그중 천문학 진출 사례로는 페리지로켓의 신동윤 대표와 다수의 천문학 전공 학생들이 있다. 전문적인 초등학생 천문교육 프로그램의 지속적인 연구개발을 통해 대한민국 천문학 대중화에 이바지할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Localization of Text-development on Regional Learning in Social Studies (사회과 지역학습 교재개발의 지역적 적합화 연구 -경남 산청과 충남 서산의 지역학습을 사례로-)

  • Regional learning in social studies has an important educational meaning in that it is a tabloid edition of social studies and it also satisfies the regionalization of national curriculum. Social studies in Korea have mainly been led by the social study curriculum of elementary school. But the local textbook which was currently used in elementary school is structured in a negative meaning of regionalization rather than positive one. It is suggested in this study that the regional learning of social studies in middle school should be pursued by the co-work of teachers and students. For this purpose, the theoretical and practical processes to develop the local textbook are compared between two distinctive localities such as Sancheong and Seosan. At first, the relative ratio among the six strands is decided to develop several themes for regional learning, considering the landscape, region-related discourses and ecological environments in each region. Secondly, several themes are extracted to organize the contents of local textbook in each region. Lastly, examples of content-organization are suggested in each region. The processes above are just an example of content-organization, not a fixed one. The process, themes extracted, and the content-organization for each region may be changed according to the school location, local situation, and the quality of classroom.

HunMinJeomUm: Text Extraction and Braille Conversion System for the Learning of the Blind (시각장애인의 학습을 위한 텍스트 추출 및 점자 변환 시스템)

  • The number of visually impaired and blind people is increasing, but braille translation textbooks for them are insufficient, which violates their rights to education despite their will. In order to guarantee their rights, this paper develops a learning system, HunMinJeomUm, that helps them access textbooks, documents, and photographs that are not available in braille, without the assistance of others. In our system, a smart phone app and web pages are designed to promote the accessibility of the blind, and a braille kit is produced using Arduino and braille modules. The system supports the following functions. First, users select documents or pictures that they want, and the system extracts the text using OCR. Second, the extracted text is converted into voice and braille. Third, a membership registration function is provided so that the user can view the extracted text. Experiments have confirmed that our system generates braille and audio outputs successfully, and provides high OCR recognition rates. The study has also found that even completely blind users can easily access the smart phone app.
