먼저 SAS(Samsung Autonomous System)을 활용하여 시뮬레이션을 진행하였다. 결과 분석은 6가지 항목(속력, Heading, Rate of Turn, Collison Risk Index, DCPA, TCPA, Closest Distance, XTD(Cross-Track Distance))을 분석하였다.

  • This paper introduces a hovering-type autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) developed for research and its fundamental motion performance results obtained by simulation and field test. The AUV can control its motion in four degrees of freedom (DOF) by means of its horizontal and vertical thrusters, and it is designed to provide a test-bed that facilitates ease of operation and experimentation. Prior to the field tests, six DOF equations of motion are developed, and a simulation program is constructed using MATLAB and Simulink to verify the essential motion performance of the designed vehicle. Furthermore, a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller and fuzzy PID controller are designed, and their performances are verified through a simulation. Field tests are performed to verify the motion performance of the AUV; way-point tracking is executed by the PID and fuzzy PID controllers. The results confirmed appropriate control performance under current disturbances.

  • In this paper, we have been implemented the QPSK-based underwater transmission systems using DSP in order to transmit the underwater image data. We have adopted a BDPA (Block Data Parallel Architecture) to control multiple DSPs used in the transmitter and receiver in order to transmit the image data in real-time. We also have developed GUI software in order to drive and to debug the implemanted system in real-time. We have executed open sea tests in order to analyze the performance of the implemented system at East Sea near Kosung in Kangwon-Do. As a result of these experiments, it has been demonstrated that 10 kbps image data can be received without errors at 30m and 80m depth points, while the distance between the transmitter and the receiver is up to 20m.

  • Samsung Thales has developed a small-sized autonomous underwater vehicle "BOTO" verified by a mathematical model simulation. The hydrodynamic coefficients and drag force were experimented at circulating water channel for validating cruising performance of the AUV. Based on the mathematical model, we simulated turning radius and way-point tracking on horizontal plane using way-point tracking algorithm. In this paper we introduce the vehicle system and the sea trial test results will be shown.

  • In this paper, we developed a Manta-type AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) and analyzed its control performance as well as its dynamic characteristics underwater. The nonlinear motion of equations, which are expressed in terms of hydrodynamic coefficients obtained by various experiments, are used to simulate the motion of a Manta AUV underwater. We applied the sliding-mode theory to control the heading angle and depth of the vehicle, and confirmed the effectiveness of the control algorithm through simulations and sea-trials.

  • This paper investigates the resistance performance of drag anchors used for aqua farms installed in southwestern offshore wind farms in Korea. These anchors have been employed for a long time without any quantitative evaluation. Experimental campaigns were performed at the target site and the results were used to validate the numerical model by changing the penetration depths in the uniformly distributed seabed (i.e., flat). Based on the validated model with good agreement with the experiments (ARE 1.8 %), the resistance of the anchor with different pullout angles was thoroughly examined. It is worth noting that the Coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian (CEL) technique was applied to account for the large deformation of the anchor; Eulerian for the seabed and Lagrangian for the structure. The numerical results indicated that the pullout resistance is vulnerable to horizontal inclined force rather than vertical inclination, implying that the optimum performance is ideally expected to be 0-degree force applied.

  • In this paper we have studied the underwater vector channel modeling for MIMO(Multiple Input Multiple Output) to increase the performance and efficiency for ultrasound communication in underwater channel environments. Also we have analyzed the MIMO techniques using the proposed channel modeling. For underwater MIMO channel modeling. experiments were done in real channel environments and the data were analyzed to estimate parameters such as fading, Doppler, time delay, angle of arrival, and receiving power. These were used for modeling of underwater vector channel modeling for MIMO. Additionally, we have analyzed the performance of MIMO systems using our proposed channel models. As a result we could see that the BER has decreased severely with the same SNR when using the MIMO system.
