Comparison on handwashing recognition and practice of middle school students between Korea and Nepal (한국과 네팔 중학생들의 손씻기 인식과 실천 비교)

  • This survey is to compare the handwashing recognition and practice of middle school students in Korea and Nepal, according to the report that handwashing practice rate of Korea was significantly lower than those of developed countries. The handwashing survey tools of Korean CDC were used. As a result of analyzing data using SPSS/Win 23.0, there were differences in residential state, disease experience, and parental education level of subjects, handwashing practice was significantly higher in Nepal while higher handwashing recognition of Korea(p<.001). Among contents of handwashing practice, there were significant differences in drying methods, number of it with soap, time required, number of receiving education for it, and education methods. It is necessary to take measures to increase handwashing practice rate of Korea, while Nepal's is increasing by supplementing equipment and education even their handwashing recognition was low. This results are from a few middle school students in both countries by convenience sampling, therefore it is needed repeated studies with wider range of subjects.

The Effects of Teacher Preparation Programs With Project-Based Learning for Strengthening Preservice Special Education Teachers' Practical Teaching Abilities (프로젝트 기반 학습(PBL)을 활용한 교직수업이 예비특수교사의 실천적 교수역량 강화에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of teacher preparation programs with project-based learning for strengthening preservice special education teachers' practical teaching abilities. The results of this study showed that the practical teaching ability of preservice special education teachers (n = 39) improved by a total of 6.76 points after receiving action learning-based instruction. The improvement was 1.49 points for planning and designing, 1.49 points for communication, 0.49 points for interactions with students, 2.49 points for teaching and learning environment, and 0.89 points for sincerity and enthusiasm. The results of paired t-test showed that preservice special education teachers' practical teaching ability has significantly improved on the total scale score (p < 0.01). Preservice special education teachers' improvements were also significant on three out of five subscales: planning and designing, communication, and teaching and learning environment. Correlations between the practical teaching ability subscales ranged from 0.64 to 0.90, indicating a statistically significant correlation.

The Effects of Recovery Oriented Practices on Psychiatric Symptoms of People with Mental Disorder (회복지향실천이 정신장애인의 정신과적 증상에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examines the effects of recovery-oriented practices on psychiatric symptoms of people with mental disorder and further explores the impact of recovery-oriented practices in each subcategories on psychiatric symptoms, thereby demonstrating the intent of restoring the community mental health rehabilitation center. For this, a survey was conducted on 378 people with mental disorder who used community mental health rehabilitation center and correlation and hierarchical regression analysis were conducted. The study found that among the five subcategories of recovery, including age and duration of illness, 'Life Goal,' 'Involvement,' and 'diversity of treatment options' alleviate symptoms of people with mental disorder. Based on these findings, community mental health rehabilitation center has presented the combined significance of psychiatry and social welfare programs to facilitate the recovery of the mentally handicapped by reflecting the value and factors of recovery-oriented practice.

Meaning of Memory in Archival Activism (기억의 기록학적 의미와 실천)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze how the "memory approach" has affected archival methodology and activities, and suggest the directions of archival activities in each field. Although there have been many discussions on the memories and collective memories in Archival Studies, it is necessary to analyze them more practically from the viewpoint of archival activism. In this study, the memory approaches in archival discourse are classified into four categories in terms of archival activism; i) the role of archives as social memory organizations, ii) the memory struggle for finding out the truth of the past, iii) archival activities of restorative justice for people who suffer from trauma memories after social disasters and human rights violations, and iv) the memory process of communities' archiving for strengthening community identities. The meaning and issues are analyzed for each category, and the practice based on archival expertise and political and social practices are examined together as necessary competencies for archival activism.

  • The Conception of the Dao(道) have a large number of implication. The Dao is Taoism's representative concept, also the Confucianists considered the Dao important. But relatively the Confucianists emphasize the way of Human(人道), Taoists stress the way of Heaven(天道) The Justice is the western philosophical conception. The Justice is necessary for the peace and prosperity in interindividual, inter-social, and international. If closely consider, We can explain the real nature of Justice from the Dao, and know practicing the Dao is namely practicing the Justice. In this paper, I studied the conception of Dao and it's meaning in the philosophy of Lao-tzu (B.C. 604?~531?) and Confucius(B.C. 552~479), and researched the method of practicing the Justice. Through this study, I ascertain that Confucian's the way of Human is the Benevolence(仁), practicing the Benevolence is namely practicing the Justice. And Lao-tzu's he way of Heaven is the real nature of Justice, Nature itself remained intact(無爲自然) is namely practicing the Justice.

  • Economy of Communion (EoC) is an emerging economic principle that recognizes the dilemma of traditional perspectives and turns to human centered values and ideas. Furthermore the EoC encompasses all the principles derives from free market economy, ethical norm and social solidarity. This study aims to understand Economy of Communion concepts and its ripple effects under current Korean economy condition which mainly follows Neo-liberalism. Korean economy needs new paradigm to deal with intensifying economical inequality in Korea these days. By understanding EoC's primary value and studying research cases and Sungsimdang, Seokwangsa one of EoC enterprise cases in Korea, this study suggests new economic paradigm. In response to the needs, two important practices should be manifested through fraternity: 1) mutural equity, and 2) dissemination of giving culture. These are construct the economy of communion, which is defined as unique humanism. This study is also expected to suggest new paradigm that establishes new economy system that can cover current economy system's problems.

Faith Formation Through Guided Participation in Practice (신앙형성과 원칙에 따르는 실천의 참여)

  • In this study I want to explore faith formation through the framework of practice. First, I will describe discipleship as a lifelong process of identity formation, defining Christian religious education as a faith community's intentional work of equipping people to walk in the way of Jesus through apprenticeship in faith practices. I will argue that this process is more about the teaching of practices and engaging in theological reflection on practices than it is about dispensing correct information. This idea is not original with me, but has been expounded by many others particularly in the past decade in the U.S., as part of a larger movement within theological discourse emphasizing the centrality of practice. Second, I will describe some resources from educational theorists that can help us to understand what it means to educate through practices toward an identity as Christians. And finally, I will suggest that in our complex, broken and wounded world, as Christian religious educators we especially have a calling to equip disciples in two urgent faith practices: earth-care, and dealing with conflict.

The practitioners' perceptions on settlement of cultural welfare policy (문화복지 제도정착에 관한 실천가 인식)

  • This study was based on politic reality which is being developed within the ambiguity of cultural welfare, and discussed what sort of awareness the practitioners show in the settlement process of the cultural welfare policy in depth. 4 elements were discovered in the settlement process of the cultural welfare policy which the practitioners are aware of. The elements are value(pursuit of comprehensive mankind), element of practice(process of operation), elements of external influences(process of policy settlement), and elements of internal influences(reinforcement of practitioners capability). This means that not only the process of policy settlement in a narrow sense, but also value, practice, and reinforcement of practitioners' capability for the provision of better service should be considered for the settlement of the policy. This study which analyzed the cultural welfare practitioners' awareness of policy settlement process is significant in that it provides the basic data for future settlement of the cultural welfare policy.

The Effect of Empathy on Social Justice Commitment: A Social-Cognitive Perspective (공감 능력이 사회 정의 실천에 미치는 영향: 사회 인지적 관점에서)

  • This purposed of this study was to investigate the effect of empathy on social justice commitment from a social-cognitive perspective. Specifically, we examined how cognitive and affective empathy affect social justice commitment through social justice self-efficacy, social justice outcome expectation, and social justice interest which represent a social-cognitive path of behavior. Based on the self-report survey sample of 537 people in their twenties, we first controlled social desirability, and then analyzed the measurement and structure model using Structure Estimate Modeling(SEM). As a result, it turned out that both cognitive and affective empathy indirectly affected social justice commitment through the path of the social-cognitive model. However, affective empathy had a larger effect size compared to cognitive empathy. Results suggest that empathy competence has an effect on not only general altruistic behavior as known before but also social justice behavior which include the value of equality and anti-discrimination. Finally, ways for facilitating social justice commitment in terms of cognitive and affective empathy were suggested.

Factors Associated with Oral Health Knowledge, Oral Health Performance and Oral Health Quality of Life of Cancer Patients (암환자의 구강보건지식 및 실천도, 구강건강 삶의 질에 미치는 요인에 관한 연구)

  • The aim of this study was to examine the factors that affect the oral health knowledge, oral health performance and oral health quality of life of caner patients. A self-reported questionnaire was surveyed by 102 cancer patients in G area. The data were analyzed for frequency analysis, average, standard deviation, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, pearson's correlation coefficient by using SPSS 21.0 program. The oral health knowledge were higher significantly having religion and in case of college graduation or higher monthly income(p<0.01). The oral health performance were higher significantly when married, higher monthly income. Multiple regression analysis showed significant differences in oral health knowledge and religion(p<0.05).
