A VR-Based Integrated Simulation for the Remote Operation Technology Development of Unmanned-Vehicles in PRT System (자동 운전 PRT 차량의 무선 관제 기술 개발을 위한 가상 환경 기반 통합 시뮬레이터 개발)

  • Personal Rapid Transit(PRT), which is one of the next generation convergence transport technology, PRT system requires operation technology for controlling diverse vehicles and dealing with a variety of abnormal driving situations on a large scale trackway structures in expected operational area more efficiently and reliably. Before developing PRT control technology, it is essential that multiple testing procedures stepwise with building small scale test-tracks and develop real unmanned-vehicles. However, it is expected that the experiments demand huge amount of time and physical cost. Thus, simulation in virtual environment is efficient to develop wireless based control technology for multiple PRT vehicles prior to building real-test environment. In this paper, we propose a VR-based integrated simulator which physics engine is applied so that it enables simulation of front-wheel-steering PRT system rather than simple rail track system. The proposed simulator is also developed that it can reflect geographical features, infrastructures and network topology of expected driving region.

  • This paper proposed the finite element analysis technique for improving the correleration accuracy between FEA and test on a pedestrian lower legform impact. Europe has been evaluating the bumper pedestrian impact by Euro-NCAP, and it will also be applied in a domestic area by K-NCAP in 2013. By using the compression test result of bending resisting stiffener, a pedestrian bumper modeling guide was presented by analayzing the force-displacement curve of stiffener. And by using the sensor measurement results in car pedestrian test, pedestrian impact behavior was analyzed between test and finite element analysis result. Finally, the finite element analysis guide for a pedestrian bumper impact was presented to improve the correleration accuracy.

A Study on the Introduction for Automated Vehicle-based Mobility Service Considering the Level Of Service of Road Infrastructure (도로 인프라 수준을 고려한 자율주행 기반 모빌리티 서비스 도입 방향 고찰)

  • There have been enormous efforts to develop an innovative public transport bus service for enhancing its operational efficiency based on Automated Vehicle(AV). However, since the vehicle operating environment in the public transport system varies with the purpose and method of mobility service, it is necessary to preferentially evaluate the current roadworthiness for an effective way to introduce the AV. Therefore, this study classified and redefined AV-based mobility service based on literature reviews. This research conducted the roadworthiness test for checking the feasibilities of the AV-based mobility services. Furthermore, we suggested some deployment strategies of the AV-based mobility service considering the Level-Of-Service (LOS) of road infrastructure based on the results of roadworthiness tests. The proposed direction would have a great potential to introduce the AV-based public transport system in the near future.

LASPI: Hardware friendly LArge-scale stereo matching using Support Point Interpolation (LASPI: 지원점 보간법을 이용한 H/W 구현에 용이한 스테레오 매칭 방법)

  • In this paper, a new hardware and software architecture for a stereo vision processing system including rectification, disparity estimation, and visualization was developed. The developed method, named LArge scale stereo matching method using Support Point Interpolation (LASPI), shows excellence in real-time processing for obtaining dense disparity maps from high quality image regions that contain high density support points. In the real-time processing of high definition (HD) images, LASPI does not degrade the quality level of disparity maps compared to existing stereo-matching methods such as Efficient LArge-scale Stereo matching (ELAS). LASPI has been designed to meet a high frame-rate, accurate distance resolution performance, and a low resource usage even in a limited resource environment. These characteristics enable LASPI to be deployed to safety-critical applications such as an obstacle recognition system and distance detection system for autonomous vehicles. A Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) for the LASPI algorithm has been implemented in order to support parallel processing and 4-stage pipelining. From various experiments, it was verified that the developed FPGA system (Xilinx Virtex-7 FPGA, 148.5MHz Clock) is capable of processing 30 HD ($1280{\times}720pixels$) frames per second in real-time while it generates disparity maps that are applicable to real vehicles.

Driver's Status Recognition Using Multiple Wearable Sensors (다중 웨어러블 센서를 활용한 운전자 상태 인식)

  • In this paper, we propose a new safety system composed of wearable devices, driver's seat belt, and integrating controllers. The wearable device and driver's seat belt capture driver's biological information, while the integrating controller analyzes captured signal to alarm the driver or directly control the car appropriately according to the status of the driver. Previous studies regarding driver's safety from driver's seat, steering wheel, or facial camera to capture driver's physiological signal and facial information had difficulties in gathering accurate and continuous signals because the sensors required the upright posture of the driver. Utilizing wearable sensors, however, our proposed system can obtain continuous and highly accurate signals compared to the previous researches. Our advanced wearable apparatus features a sensor that measures the heart rate, skin conductivity, and skin temperature and applies filters to eliminate the noise generated by the automobile. Moreover, the acceleration sensor and the gyro sensor in our wearable device enable the reduction of the measurement errors. Based on the collected bio-signals, the criteria for identifying the driver's condition were presented. The accredited certification body has verified that the devices has the accuracy of the level of medical care. The laboratory test and the real automobile test demonstrate that our proposed system is good for the measurement of the driver's condition.

국가 간 감성이미지의 비교 연구 - 색체이미지 척도를 이용한 제품 이미지의 평가 -

  • 특정 제품이 가진 "감성 이미지"란 그 제품의기능과 함께 제품의 감각적 요소 그리고 사용자가 제품에 대해 가진 개념적인 사고 과정의 산물이다. 감성이미지의 국제 비교 연구는 사용자가 특정 제품에 대해 가지고 있는 이미지를 국가나 문화의 맥락 속에서 상호 비교 평가하여, 각 국가나 사회집단을 특팅지울 수 있는 문화적 감성 요소를 추출하고자 하는 것이다. 즉, 각 국가의 생활문화 속에서 사용자들이 제품에 대해 가지는 감성이미지를 계량적으로 규명하고 비교 평가하며, 이 정보를 기초로 각국의 문화와 정서에 적합한 제품 디자인의 모형을 제시하는데 본 연구의 목적이 있다. 구체적인 연구방법은 우선, 자동차 제품을 중심으로 '제품 이미지'를 나타내는 '언어 이미지'스케일을 각 문화 집단 별로 구성한다. 이 제품 이미지에 대비하여, 감성적 요소로 선정된 표준 색채 스케일을 중심으로 나타난 집단의 '이미지'를 상호 비교 평가한다. 이 경우, 각 국가별 집단에서 특징적으로 나타나는 제품의 주요 특성이 감성 이미지로 표현되는 색채 이미지에 어떻게 반영되는가를 상호 비교한다. 이 연구에서는 특정 지역의 사람들이 제품에 적용하는 감성이미지는 색채나 기타 감성 요소에 대한 선호의 문제가 아니라 그 집단의 사람들이 그 제품을 통해 표현하고자 하는 사회적 표상의 반영이라는 것을 보여준다. 따라서, 제품의 이미지가 각 국가별로 공유되는 감성 이미지로 변환되기 위해서는 동일한 의미나 상징성을 지닌 감성 요소를 활용하여 그 제품의 이미지를 포장할 수 있는 방법을 적용하는것이다. 본 연구에서는 각 문화 집단들이 특정 제품에 대해 가지고 있는 사회적 표상(social representation) 체계를 색채스케일에서 나타난 감성 이미지를 통해 구체화하는 것이다.로서는 방전효율의 저하가 없는 양호한 성능을 보였으며, SC의 시범 작동시험을 실차(소나타 1800cc)에 장착하여 수행한 결과 20회 이상의 연속시동에서도 아무런 문제점 없이 잘 동작하였다.되는 데이타를 입력한후 마우스로 원하는 작업의 메뉴를 선택하면 된다. 방법을 타액과 혈청내 testosterone 농도 측정에 응용하여 RIA의 결과와 비교하여 본 바 상관관계가 타액에서 r=0.969, 혈청에서 r=0.990으로 두 결과가 잘 일치하였다. 본 실험에서 측정된 한국인 여성의 타액내 testosterone농도는 107.7$\pm$12.0 pmol/l이었고, 남성의 타액내 농도는 274.2$\pm$22.1 pmol/l이었다. 이상의 결과로 보아 본 연구에서 정립된 EIA 방법은 RIA를 대신하여 소규모의 실험실에서도 활용할 수 있을 것으로 사려된다.또한 상실기 이후 배아에서 합성되며, 발생시기에 따라 그 영향이 다르고 팽창과 부화에 관여하는 것으로 사료된다. 더욱이, 조선의 ${\ulcorner}$구성교육${\lrcorner}$이 조선총독부의 관리하에서 실행되었다는 것을, 당시의 사범학교를 중심으로 한 교육조직을 기술한 문헌에 의해 규명시켰다.nd of letter design which represents -natural objects and was popular at the time of Yukjo Dynasty, and there are some documents of that period left both in Japan and Korea.   • 자동차는 코너 주행 시 In-corner와 Out-corner 의 바퀴 궤적이 달라지므로, 특별한 장치가 없이 좌우 구동 측의 바퀴가 같은 속도로 회전을 하게 되면 정상적인 주행이 불가능하다. 따라서 정상적인 코너 주행이 가능 하려면, 코너 안쪽 바퀴보다 바깥쪽 바퀴가 더 빨리 회전해야 하며 이러한 회전 차를 보상받지 못할 경우 바깥쪽 바퀴가 끌리는 현상이 발생하는데 이를 방지하기 위해 디퍼렌셜 기어가 필요하다. 현재 디퍼렌셜 기어는 디퍼렌셜 케이스와 링기어를 볼트로 체결하는 조립 공법을 통해 생산되고 있다. 하지만 볼트 체결 공법은 조립을 위한 볼트와 볼트 체결을 위한 플랜지와 볼팅을 위한 홀을 가공하는 공정이 필요하기 때문에 재료비 절감 및 생산 효율 향상에 매우 불리하고 볼트체결을 위한 부분 때문에 불필요한 무게가 증가하게 된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 기계적 체결 방식을 레이저 용접 방식으로 대체하여 재료비를 절감하고 무게 저감을 통해 주행성능을 향상시키고자 하였다. 링기어의 소재는 침탄처리강(SCM420H)이며 디퍼렌셜 케이스의 소재는 주철(GCD500)을 사용하고 있다. 주철은 용접시 용접부와 열영향부에서 마르텐사이트 조직과 레데브라이트, 시멘타이트 조직이 생성되며 고탄소 모재의 탄소 확산으로 인한 부분 혼합영역에서 탄소 합금이 생성되어 균열이 발생하는 등 용접성이 매우 좋지 않은 것으로 알려져 있다. 이러한 주철의 난용접성을 해결하는 방법으로는 고탄소 모재 용접시 발생하는 탄소의 확산을 억제하거나 예열이나 후열 처리를 통한 냉각 속도의 제어하는 방법과 오스테나이트 안정화 원소를 첨가한 필러와이어를 사용하여 용접시 마르텐사이트와 시멘타이트의 성장을 방해하는 방법 등이 이용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 예열처리나 후열처리를 통한 주철의 용접법은 대량 생산을 통한 원가절감을 노리는 자동차 업계의 특성에 비추어 볼 때 비용이나 프로세스 구성 면에서 적용하는 것이 어려울 것이라 판단하여 Ni-base filler metal을 통한 주철의 용접법을 선택하였고 그 결과 실차에 적용하기 위한 비틀림 강성 테스트나 내구 테스트는 통과하였으나 NVH 테스트 결과 볼팅 체결 방식에 비하여 소음이 커지는 문제가 발생하고 링기어의 HAZ부가 고경화 되는 문제가 발생하였다. 때문에 용입깊이를 초기 시제품인 5mm에서 4mm로 변경시켜 입열량 감소 및 용접변형을 줄여 소음 문제를 해결하고자 하였으며 링기어의 침탄층을 1mm 절삭하여 링기어 HAZ부의 고경화 문제를 해결하고자 하였다. 이러한 용접 구조 변경이 용접변형 및 강성과 피로에 미치는 영향력을 알아보고자 용접 및 열처리 상용 소프트웨어인 SYSWELD, 구조해석 상용소프트웨어인 NX_NASTRAN, 피로 해석 상용 소프트웨어인 FEMFAT을 이용하여 시뮬레이션 하였고 실제 구조 변경한 용접 시제품과 비교, 분석하였다.

  • As digital systems were introduced to automotive design in the mid 1980s, the design process has adopted many digital programs to save time compared to the conventional hand drafting. Digital technology was introduced not only to satisfy the reeds of the global environment, as the number of automobiles exported to many different parts of the world has increased, but also to save time and effort in developing several models of quality automobiles. Therefore, every automotive manufacturer in the world has expanded its virtual reality(VR) studio to establish visualization systems that visualize automobiles in the actual size and a co-operation system that enables simultaneous feedback from all of its design studios around the world. Unlike the existing design reviewing methos, the new improved feedback system is assessed as a reasonable method to evaluates and understand how the automobiles are actually manufactured in simulation. It is especially helpful when advanced products and concept cars require fast results. Other strengths of the new system include shorter development period, cost efficiency, no more manual labor, various designs within a short period of time, and realistic visualization of concepts. Large-scale products, including automobiles, need to be projected in the actual size and high clarity through the Power-wall System and are examined in a virtual space called a Cave. Therefore, it took much time to establish digital infrastructure. An infrastructure would constantly require system improvement and performance enhancement, but it is certain that now is the right time for the take-off to utilizing the strengths of digital design and improve the weaknesses. In this respect, this study provided an understanding of the importance of digital design based on digital reinforcements and examined an effective utilization of digital technology for an efficient development of automobiles in the future.

Analysis of the Vibration Characteristics of a High-Speed Train using a Scale Model (축소모델을 통한 고속철도 차량의 진동특성 해석 및 검증)

  • A scaled version of a roller rig is developed to demonstrate the dynamic characteristics of a railway vehicle for academic purposes. This rig is designed based on Jaschinski's similarity law. It is scaled to 1/10 of actual size and allows 9-DOF motion to examine the up and down vibration of a train set. The test rig consists of three sub-hardware components: (i) a driving roller mechanism with a three-phase AC motor and an inverter, (ii) a bogie structure with first and second suspensions, and (iii) the vehicle body. The motor of the rig is capable of 3,600rpm, allowing the test to simulate a vehicle up to a maximum speed of 400Km/hr. Because bearings and joints are properly connected to the sub-structures, various motion analyses, such as a lateral, pitching, and yawing motion, are allowed. The slip motion between the rail and the wheel set is also monitored by several sensors mounted in the rig. After the construction of the hardware, an experiment is conducted to obtain the natural frequencies of the dynamic behavior of the specimen. First, the test rig is run and data are collected from six sets of accelerometers. Then, a numerical analysis of the model based on the ADAMS program is derived. Finally, the measurement data of the first three fundamental frequencies are compared to the analytical result and the validation of the test rig is conducted. The results show that the developed roller rig provides good accuracy in simulating the dynamic behavior of the vehicle motion. Although the roller rig designed in this paper is intended for academia, it can easily be implemented as part of a dynamic experiment of a bogie and a vehicle body for a high-speed train as part of the research efforts in this area.

  • The importance of autonomous driving systems that utilize V2X services such as V2V(Vehicle to Vehicle) and V2I(Vehicle to Infrastructure) for safer and more comfortable driving is increasing with the recent development of autonomous vehicles. Partly autonomous vehicles based on environmental sensors have limitations for predicting and determining areas beyond the recognition distance of the mounted sensors and in response to atypical objects that are difficult to detect. Therefore, it is important to utilize the V2X service to improve the limit of sensor detection performance and to make driving safer and more comfortable. However, there may be an accident risk of autonomous vehicles due to incorrect information provided by V2X. Thus, the application of technology to prevent this needs to be considered. In this pater, we used the ISO-26262 Part3 Process and performed HARA (Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment) to derive the risk sources of autonomous vehicles due to V2I malfunctions by using the communication between vehicles and infrastructure among V2X. We also developed ASIL ratings based on the simulations and real vehicle tests of the malfunctions of major cases of usnig V2I.
