  • 현대인은 실외에서 활동하는 시간보다 실내에서 거주하는 시간(80%)이 더 많고, 그로 인해 실외 대기오염보다 실내 공기 오염이 일반인의 건강에 미치는 영향이 더 큰 것으로 보고되고 있다. 국내에서도 1990년대 이후 실내에서의 일일 노출시간 증가, 한정된 공간에서의 오염된 공기의 지속적 순환, 에너지 절감 시스템에 의한 건물의 밀폐화에 따른 오염농도의 누적현상, 다양한 건축자재 및 생활 인테리어 용품의 사용으로 인한 실내 오염원의 존재 등으로 실내 공기질 악화에 따른 건강 영향에 대해 관심이 고조되기 시작하였다. (중략)

  • This paper presents a performance analysis of experimental observations of a uplink smart antenna system operating in a wide-band CDMA environment designed for a WLL (Wireless Local Loop) system. The numerical results shown in this paper have been obtained from practical experiments using commercially developed mobile terminals. The beam pattern provided by the weight vector and the resultant BER (Bit Error Rate) are observed in both indoor and outdoor signal environments. From the experimental observations, it is concluded that the proposed smart antenna system provides significant improvements in receiving both indoor and outdoor signal environments.

  • 최근 GPS(Global Positioning System)가 탑재된 스마트 단말이 빠르게 보급되면서 위치정보 기반의 다양한 서비스가 보급되고 있다. 위치정보는 다양한 맥락으로 해석 및 적용될 수 있으며, 교통, 군사, 공공안전 등 여러 분야에 걸쳐 광범위하게 사용되고 있다. 이에 따라 위치정보의 정확도 향상을 위한 다양한 연구가 활발히 진행 중인데, 실외 환경의 경우 GPS를 이용한 고정밀 측위 기술이 주류를 이루고 있는 반면에, 실외 환경보다 상대적으로 제약이 많은 실내 환경에서는 주로 네트워크 기반의 측위 기술에 대한 연구가 많이 이루어지고 있다. 본고에서는 기존의 측위 기술들의 장단점을 분석하고, 각 측위 기술의 단점을 보완한 복합 측위 기술 동향을 알아보고 향후 복합 측위 기술의 발전 방향에 대해 논의한다.

  • 무선랜은 유선랜의 대안으로 개발되어 설비의 용이성으로 인하여 특수분야와 특수용도로만 이용되어오다가 최근 들어 그 표준과 기술이 급속도로 발전하여 현재는 건물간의 중계회선 또는 광범위의 유저들을 위한 일대일 통신등의 수단과 고속인터넷의 중계회선, 그리고 멀티미디어 대폭을 요구하는 화상통신의 수단으로 이용되고 있다. 개발당시 10Mbps의 전송속도에서 시작하여 최근에는 100Mbps 대역까지 확장되어가고 있는 추세이다. 특히 캠퍼스무선랜의 경우 인터넷 중계회선으로서 체감적으로 차이는 있지만 최소 10Mbps속도로 반경 100~200m 범위를 보장하여야한다고 사료된다. 본 논문에서는 실제이용환경에서 무선랜이 인터넷 중계회선으로서의 효용성입증을 위하여 측정하였다. 측정한 결과 IEEE802.11b 를 기반으로 네트워크를 구성하는 경우 최소 3개 이상의 AP로서 구성하여야한다는 것을 입증하였다. 향후 해양환경에서의 무선랜의 성능평가를 수행함에 그목적이 있다.

  • 무선랜은 유선랜의 대안으로 개발되어 설비의 용이성으로 인하여 특수분야와 특수용도로만 이용되어오다가 최근 들어 그 표준과 기술이 급속도로 발전하여 현재는 건물간의 중계회선 또는 광범위의 유저들을 위한 일대일 통신등의 수단과 고속인터넷의 중계회선, 그리고 멀티미디어 대폭을 요구하는 화상통신의 수단으로 이용되고 있다. 개발당시 10Mbps의 전송속도에서 시작하여 최근에는100Mbps 대역까지 확장되어가고 있는 추세이다. 이와 같은 시점에서 본 논문에서는 무선랜의 원천적인 용도인 실내이용의 효율성을 검증하기 위하여 실측을 통하여 무선랜의 실내이용시의 성능을 검증하였다. 실내환경변화에 따른 무선랜의 성능은 향후 실외환경과의 성능과 비교를 통하여 무선랜을 이용한 광범위전송망을 설계하기 위함에 그 목적이있다.

A Study on the Development of Design Guidelines for the Outdoor Play Settings in Child Care Center (아동보육시설의 실외놀이 환경 디자인지침 개발 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest a guideline for outdoor play settings in child care centers. From March to July, 2005, data were collected from 223 directors at child care centers through a structured questionnaire, field measurement survey and non-participatory observation in seventeen child care centers in Seoul and Daejeon. The statistical methods for analysing data were frequency, percentage, mean, $X^2$ and F-test. The results showed as follows: 1)the existing outdoor playground area in child care centers should be expanded more than $4\;m^2$ per child. 2) Outdoor play facilities should be equipped with two structured play sets, a play facility for unstructured play and an adventure facility to make child's various activities possible and to promote child development. 3)flooring materials for outdoor playground should be required to use more than three kinds such as solid coverings (cf. asphalt, standard concrete), wood, lawn, soil or sands. 4)to let children enjoy various activities, outdoor playground area should be composed of various play facilities like indoor play gyms and should be independent but have good connections between play facilities depending on characteristics of play activities. 5)Play spaces of outdoor playground should be composed of physical play space, unstructured and dramatized play space, rest space, space for nature and adventure space. In addition, appropriate play equipments should be provided in respective play space.

Particle filter for Correction of GPS location data of a mobile robot (이동로봇의 GPS위치 정보 보정을 위한 파티클 필터 방법)

  • This paper proposes a method which corrects location data of GPS for navigation of outdoor mobile robot. The method uses a Bayesian filter approach called the particle filter(PF). The method iterates two procedures: prediction and correction. The prediction procedure calculates robot location based on translational and rotational velocity data given by the robot command. It incorporates uncertainty into the predicted robot location by adding uncertainty to translational and rotational velocity command. Using the sensor characteristics of the GPS, the belief that a particle assumes true location of the robot is calculated. The resampling from the particles based on the belief constitutes the correction procedure. Since usual GPS data includes abrupt and random noise, the robot motion command based on the GPS data suffers from sudden and unexpected change, resulting in jerky robot motion. The PF reduces corruption on the GPS data and prevents unexpected location error. The proposed method is used for navigation of a mobile robot in the 2011 Robot Outdoor Navigation Competition, which was held at Gwangju on the 16-th August 2011. The method restricted the robot location error below 0.5m along the navigation of 300m length.

  • Recently, with the rapid advancement in information and computer vision technology, a CCTV system using object recognition and tracking has been studied in a variety of fields. However, it is difficult to recognize a precise object outdoors due to varying pixel values by moving background elements such as shadows, lighting change, and moving elements of the scene. In order to adapt the background outdoors, this paper presents to analyze a variety of background models and proposed background update algorithms based on the weight factor. The experimental results show that the accuracy of object detection is maintained, and the number of misrecognized objects are reduced compared to previous study by using the proposed algorithm.

A Case Study of two Child-care Centers to Encourage Outdoor Play Environments and Play Programs in Daejeon (보육시설 실외놀이 환경과 실외놀이 프로그램 연계를 위한 기초 사례연구 - 대전시 A와 H 어린이집을 대상으로 -)

  • This study is to provided a basic model to encourage environment and outdoor play programs. The study was based on the analyses of actual activities performed in two child care centers in Daejeon area and the way in which the programs for outdoor play were related to the environment of the centers. Data were collected through 'The Daily Report of the Outdoor Play Programs: Plan and Evaluation' paper conducted at each center performed from 2007 to 2009. Following Mockwha Choi et al., (2007), the play observed and described by teachers was analyzed to classify play areas and play activities within each area. The places, equipment and, playthings using in each play period were also examined as well as the limitation and inspiration caused by the environment. The results of the study are as follows: 1) Empty and unfilled space tended to generate more types of non-structural play and role-pretend play 2)Adventurous play was rarely observed. More thoughtfully designed physical environments need to be provided for children to experience challenge and adventure through physical activities 3) Outdoor play environment should be suitable for the overall developments of infants and toddlers depending on their activities. A child care specialist should support the design such environment 4) Naturally, the programs of outdoor play will not be identical for all child care centers. Rather, they should go along with the programmatic characters and environmental attributes of each center. Therefore the awareness of teachers and parents as to the importance of must realize of outdoor play should be further increased.
