  • This study was made on the fact that the compressive strength characteristic of the recently developed alkali silica-sol chemical grout material was examined, whose grout material used for this study was designed to understand its strength property through the uniaxial compressive strength test(homo-gel, sand-gel), permeability test, deflection strength test, etc. In order to compare with the engineering characteristics regarding alkali silica-sol grout material and sodium silicate grout material. The uniaxial compressive strength of silica-sol grout material was identified to be increased more than 3~5 times than sodium silicate grout material at the early stage(within 72 hours). When comparing with the uniaxial compressive strengths of Sand-gel and Homo-gel at the material age of 28 days in case of silica-sol grouting material the strength of Sand-gel was measured to be about 1.3 times higher than Homo-gel. In case of silica-sol, it is assumed to have the property to exert high strength when it is actually grouted into the ground. As a result of permeability test it is judged that it is possible to apply the silica-sol to the site in the place requiring the water cut-off as the silica-sol. As a result of testing the strength at the material age of 28 days of grouting-use silica-sol showed more than 3 times' difference than the sodium silicate grouting material.

  • This study was made on the fact that the environmental impact and durability of the recently developed alkali silicasol chemical grout material. The grout material used for this study was designed to understand its environmental impact and durability through the SEM, chemical resistance test, leaching test, permeability test. In order to compare with the engineering characteristics regarding alkali silicasol grout material and sodium silicate grout material. As a result of SEM, the surface and internal tissues of alkali silicasol grout material could be identified to be denser than those of sodium silicate. As a result of leaching test the adaptability was identified as grout material as it had proved to be an ecological material owing to the total amount of the element to be leached being extremely little. As a result of permeability test it is judged that it is possible to apply the silicasol to the site in the place requiring the water cut-off as the silicasol.

  • For the purpose of cut off and ground stabilization, water glass chemical grouting method using sodium silicate has problems of weakening durability and ground water pollution because leaching was conducted when the homogel is exposed to the ground water as time elapses. The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of alkali silica sol ground injection materials, it was compared with the sodium silicate ground injection materials using water glasses. For sodium silicate and alkali silica sol by mixing each case is divided into four different specimens were made and tested. The characteristic of alkali silica sol ground injection material was analyzed by unconfined compression test and environmental impact statement of ordinary portland cement and blast furnace slag cement. Alkali silica sol specimens were made mixing A-solution and B-solution in the proportion of one on one. Through this study, alkali silica sol ground injection mixing blast furnace slag cement has excellent strength and environment-friendly.

  • Spherical and non-spherical silica particles prepared by the direct oxidation were studied for the effect of the particle size and shape of these particles on oxide CMP removal rate. Spherical silica particles, which have 10~100 nm in size, were prepared by the direct oxidation process from silicon in the presence of alkali catalyst. The 10 nm silica particles were aggregated by addition of an acid, an alcohol, or a silane as an aggregation inducer between the particles. Two or more aggregated silica particles were used as a seed to grow non spherical silica particles in the direct oxidation process of silicon in the presence of alkali catalyst. The oxide removal rate of spherical silica particles increased with increasing an average particle size for spherical silica abrasives in the oxide CMP. It further increased non-spherical particles, compared with the spherical particles in the similar average particle size.

  • This research have investigated the application and the injection effect of the alkaline silicasol grouting materia (which is) recently developed. To compare the engineering characteristics of the alkaline silicasol which is formed with 3D-gel and the sodium silicate, it have studied the strength and environmental effects through the laboratory test, and field application was investigated with a review of the injection effect and waterproof through the field test. As a result of the laboratory test, unconfined compression strength of alkaline silicasol was 5 times more than sodium silicate. As a result of the leaching test, a total amount of the eluviated elements was very small, it considered the environment-friendly material. As a result of the field test, considerable reduction of the coefficient of permeability at the hydraulic layer was confirmed, and it could secure that the coefficient of permeability showed a lower than standard value of $10^{-5}cm/sec$.

  • The engineering characteristics of synthetic polymer-silica sol, which has the effect of reducing leakage, was evaluate and compared with typical grouting material, the water glass-based SGR injection material in this study. The result of the laboratory tests on strength and durability about the synthetic polymer-silica sol showed more than twice as high as LW-based injection materials in uniaxial compressive strength, significantly lower values in shrinkage rate and permeability. The result of pH was less than 8.5 (the drinking water quality standard). As a result of the leaching test, the Na2O elution amount of the synthetic polymer-silica sol was measured to be 3 to 4 times smaller than that of the water glass grout. These results be assumed that the synthetic polymer-silica sol has better durability and permeability than those of the typical water glass-based grout.

  • This study analyzes the environmental and durability problems of traditional (LW) grouting method. And the proposed method was compared to the others effects by analyzing the in-situ applicability and effect of performance of the method using the silica sol. This study analyzed the eco-friendly, effects of high strength silica sol through laboratory tests. The effects of the construction process were identified through the field tests. The compressive strength was increased by 1.3 times compared to the LW method and the shrinkage is 3~8 times less than that of LW method with water glass. No toxicity, which could affect soil contamination. In particular, it was confirmed that the Toxicity fish also survived with little pH change in the concentration tank. Also it confirmed the construction effects through field test. Field tests are a standard penetration test, permeability test, LLT, BST. Permeability was reduced to $1{\times}10^{-5{\sim}-6}cm/sec$.

  • Pentasil zeolites, including ZSM-5, ZSM-8, ZSM-11 and silicalites, were synthesized using various organic cations. Synthesis run was carried out in a Parr pressure reactor of $2{\ell}$ capacity and a self-constructed reactor with a magnetic stirring system. The reactant materials used are colloidal silica (Snowtex), sodium aluminate, sodium chloride, TEA, TPA, TBA, Choline and water. The composition of starting materials and the reaction temperature were found to be important factors for the synthesis of uniform pentasil zeolites.

  • In this study we propose an effective method, Coating processing methods, which can improve the quality of recycled aggregate relatively easily without new equipment investment and complex treatment process and verify the improved effect using the devised method, Coating processing methods. To attain the research aim we used adequately diluted silicate solution for coating and carried out several property valuation for twelve types of material with different coating method. Also we formed concrete with coated aggregates which showed the best property. In conclusion the aggregates with the method of repeated impregnation in the silicate and drying showed the most excellent quality while other coating methods also resulted in an improvement of aggregate quality but failed to meet the KS Standard. Lastly with the optimal material we could obtain the approved compressive strength from the concrete allowing it to be utilized for road facility of which standard compressive strength of design is under 24MPa.
