Cooperative Diversity MIMO System for m with 8 Transmit Antennas (8개 송신 안테나 UWB를 위한 협동 다이버시티 MIMO 시스템)

  • The forward link of the 3 G CDMA system may become limited under the increasing of the number of users. The conventional channelization code, Walsh code, has not enough sizes for much possible non, therefore, the quasi orthogonal function(QOF), which process optimal cross-correlation with Walsh code, is considered. In this paper, we investigate quasi orthogonal function on Jacket matrices, which can lead lower correlations values and better performance in 3 G CDMA system. Moreover, to simple the detector and improve the BER performance, a novel detection for QOF CDMA system is proposed. Finally, the simple recursive generation of the bent sequences for QOF mask function is discussed.

A Golden Coded-Spatial Modulation MIMO System (골든 부호 기반의 공간 변조 다중 안테나 시스템)

  • In this paper, the spatial modulation (SM) multi-input multi-output (MIMO) system is proposed for indoor wireless local area networks (WLANs) with improved spectral efficiency. SM is suitable for high speed WLANs with avoiding the inter channel interference (ICI). Only one transmit antenna is activated in SM at each symbol interval. Therefore, it fails to attain the maximum coding gain of MIMO. The space time block code (STBC)-SM MIMO system can attain the maximum diversity gain at the expense of spectral efficiency. The proposed Golden-SM MIMO system uses the Golden code to improve the coding gain and spectral efficiency at the same time. The Golden code is adapted for STBC-SM and it makes the new code book for transmission symbols. The performance of the proposed system is compared with the conventional systems with computer simulations.

  • 본 논문에서는 대역폭 효율을 향상시키는 공간 변조(spatial modulation) 다중 안테나 시스템을 제안한다. 기존의 공간 변조 다중 안테나 시스템은 다중 송신 안테나 중 하나의 안테나를 사용하여 채널 간에 간섭을 피할 수 있어서 다중 경로가 많은 실내 환경에서 적합하다. 그러나 심벌 전송 구간마다 한 개의 안테나만을 선택하여 전송하므로 다중 안테나의 최대 부호 이득을 얻을 수 없다. 이를 극복하기 위하여 시공간블록부호화 방식을 적용한 공간 변조 다중 안테나 시스템은 두 개의 안테나를 사용하여 수신 성능을 향상시키지만 대역폭 효율이 향상되지 않는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 Hybrid STBC 시스템을 적용한 공간 변조를 제안하여 공간 변조 다중 안테나 시스템의 대역폭 효율을 개선한다.

  • This paper presents a performance analysis of experimental observations of a uplink smart antenna system operating in a wide-band CDMA environment designed for a WLL (Wireless Local Loop) system. The numerical results shown in this paper have been obtained from practical experiments using commercially developed mobile terminals. The beam pattern provided by the weight vector and the resultant BER (Bit Error Rate) are observed in both indoor and outdoor signal environments. From the experimental observations, it is concluded that the proposed smart antenna system provides significant improvements in receiving both indoor and outdoor signal environments.

  • In this study, an effective echo-suppression and cancellation technique using reflectors in semi-anechoic chamber and time-domain measurement is proposed. By using the proposed technique, the uniformity of electric field in QZ(Quiet Zone) could be improved and the antenna test environments similar to the fully anechoic chamber could be accomplished. The performances of the proposed test environments is verified with the simulated and measured data. And it is demonstrated that this test environment is possible to use the measuring the radiational characteristics of a small antenna in VHF band.

Delay Spread Measurement and Analysis in 3 GHz and 6 GHz Indoor Environments (3 GHz, 6 GHz 실내 환경의 지연 확산 측정 및 분석)

  • In this paper, delay diffusion for exhibition hall and conference room was measured and analyzed in the indoor environment of the building. Scenarios for the indoor environment of the two buildings were written. also, the system configuration and measurement methods were conducted under the same conditions. The measurement conditions were set to 3 GHz and 6 GHz of center frequencies and analysis band selected 2 GHz. The measurement system consisted of vector network analyzer, power amplifier, omni-directional transmit and receive antenna, and transmission line. According to the indoor environment scenario of the two buildings, the location of the receiving antenna was divided into three zones based on the location of the transmitting antenna and this was measured at 1 m intervals according to 18 locations. The power delay profiles, RMS delay spread, and K-factor results of two buildings were compared and analyzed.

Location Estimation Algorithm Based on AOA Using a RSSI Difference in Indoor Environment (실내 환경에서 RSSI 차이를 이용한 AOA 기반 위치 추정 알고리즘)

  • There have recently been various services that use indoor location estimation technologies. Representative methods of location estimation include fingerprinting and triangulation, but they lack accuracy. Various kinds of research which apply existing location estimation methods like AOA, TOA, and TDOA are being done to solve this problem. In this paper, we study the location estimation algorithm based on AOA using a RSSI difference in indoor environments. We assume that there is a single AP with four antennas, and estimate the angle of arrival based on the RSSI value to apply the AOA algorithm. To compensate for RSSI, we use a recursive averaging filter, and use the corrected RSSI and the Pythagorean theorem to estimate the angle of arrival. The results of the experiment, show an error of 18% because of the radiation pattern of the four non-directional antennas arranged at narrow intervals.

Radio Propagation Characteristics of Different Frequency Bands in Multiple Paths According to Antenna Position in an Indoor Lobby Environment (실내 로비 환경에서 안테나 위치에 따른 다중 경로의 서로 다른 주파수 대역의 전파 특성)

  • The radio propagation characteristics of the 6, 10, and 17 GHz frequency bands in multiple paths in an indoor lobby environment were analyzed. The line-of-sight (LOS) and non-LOS (NLOS) paths were measured from a distance of 2-16 m (0.5 m intervals) from the transmitting to the receiving antenna positions. For basic transmission losses, three parameters were compared using the floating intercept path loss model corresponding to the path. For a root mean square delay spread, the measurement results were compared for cumulative probabilities of 10, 50, and 90%. Propagation loss and propagation delay occurred in all measured frequencies owing to the existence of pillars and an unusual lobby structure. Thus, a measurement scenario for an indoor lobby environment and the provision of standard measurement data was proposed. The results may facilitate research on the radio propagation characteristics of 5G and millimeter-wave bands in indoor lobby environments with various structures.

  • In this paper, a digital terrestrial TV reception antenna which can be applied to the fade zone was designed and investigated. The proposed antenna was configured for a wire antenna structure with $16cm{\times}14cm$, and the antenna parameters are calculated by using the MoM method. The proposed antenna can be used to the receiver for domestic digital broadcast in UHF.
