This study attempts to analyze the characteristics of interior design of the apartments in Busan that people will reside since 2001 and to find out the effects of minimalism in the interior space. The companies which are in construction of the apartments of more than 50 Pyung were selected, and the design of the living rooms of their model houses were analyzed in terms of the floor plans, architectural elements, furniture and lightings. The results reveals that the living rooms of the newly-distributed apartments in Busan show similar design characteristics without distinctive differences among the companies. The new trends provide a flexible wall which makes it possible to manipulate the number of rooms according to the family preference, art-wall design in one-side of the walls and a coffered ceiling design, which can be interpreted to be closely related to the concept of minimalism with expression of simple horizontal and vertical lines, exclusive use of decorative forms, colors and materials, and use of natural materials

The purpose of this study was to verify the stability of environmental disposition through analyzing the short term effect of the 'Interior Design History' course on students environmental dispositions, especially their interior image preferences toward traditional/modern, female/masculine, and simple/complex characteristics. The pre-test post-test control group experimental design was used. The independent variable was the experience of the Interior Design History course, and the dependent variable was environmental disposition measured by IIPS(Interior Image Preference Scale). The measurements were done at both beginning and end of fall semester, 1997. Subjects were using 71 undergraduate students of Drafting course (control group) and 35 undergraduate students of Interior Design History course (experimental group) at Y University. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and F-test through ANOCOVA. This research revealed no effect of the Interior Design History course on students interior environmental dispositions. The stability of those environmental dispositions and also the validity of the IIPS were proved.

The protection of Design is very important issues in these days. Even though Interior Design is also one of important design sections, it is relatively unprotected by formal intellectual property laws, yet creativity and innovation flourish. The needs for protection of Interior Design have been creased. The aim of this study is to suggest the weakness of the system for protection of Interior Design. The proposed research is comprised of two themes. One is to research Acts related to protection of Interior Design. The second is to study the registered cases under the Design Protection Acts. These two theme is generated by the comparative review between ROK and U.S.A. Through these comparative results, this study propose some considerations for an effective protection for Interior Design. Design need to be registered in the hole image of the space not a partial element. The concept needs to be protected because it is more effective way to respond the copying. Exterior for facade and Interior Design need to be registered in one registration to use the protection system actively.

인류의 역사가 시작된 이후, 인간의 창조는 자연의 모방이라는 큰 울타리 안에서 이루어져 왔다. 신의 작품이 위대한 자연이라면, 인간의 작품은 극히 단순한 그것의 모방에 불과한 것인데, 인간은 인간의 제한된 두뇌 활동으로 이해하기가 불가능한 복잡한 자연을 인식하기 위하여 단순화(simplification)라는 방법을 사용하여 왔다. 이 과정에서 기하학(geometry)은 극도로 발전하게 되며, 인간의 자연 인식을 위한 보편적인 수단으로 자리잡게 된다. 중요한 사실은 기하학이 수단으로서 뿐만 아니라 인간에 의한 창조의 목표로서 위치하게 되었다는 사실이다. 즉 기하학은 자연의 모방이전에 이미 인간의 상상력을 지배해왔고, 그것은 가장 보편적인 창조원리가 되어왔다는 점이다. 그러나 최근의 과학과 기술의 발전, 특히 컴퓨터 기술의 발전으로 그 복잡한 자연은 단순화의 과정을 거치지 않은 복잡한(complex) 상태로 인간에게 이해되어지기 시작했다. 그중 하나가 19세기에 시작된 복잡성(chaos)이론인데 실내공간의 디자인에 있어서도 이러한 자연의 복잡성(complexity)이 새로운 창조 원리로서 자리잡게 되었다. 대표적인 실내 공간 다지이너로서 Nigel Coats를 꼽을 수 가 있는데 그의 무정부적인 (anarchism) 디자인 성향은 자연에서 발견될 수 있는 특징중의 하나라고 할 수 있다. 그가 추구한 복잡성(complexity)은 일본의 동경과 같은 고 밀도(high density)의 적극적 소비 도시(active consuming city)에서 발견되는 지극히 인간적인 도시생활을 만들기 위한 software의 제작이며, 이는 자연이라는 신의 창조물에 근접한 모방이 된다. 본 연구는 Nigel Coats의 작품에서 발견될 수 있는 이러한 무정부주의적 성향이 어떻게 자연의 본질적인 복잡한 (complex) 모습과 관련이 되는가를 통하여 현대 실내디자인의 새로운 방향이 이 시대의 과학적 발견에 따른 복잡성(complexity)과 유관함을 보여준다.

본 연구는 세계적인 크루즈 선박들의 거주구역 실내 공간의 일반적 특성과 경향을 분석하고자 하였다. 또한 한중일을 중심으로 하는 아시아권 크루즈 선박의 공용공간과 객실공간에 대해 각 실별로 구체적으로 디자인 특성을 파악하여 크루즈 선박의 공간 디자인을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하고, 추후 나아가야 할 방향을 제안하였다. 연구결과, 한중일을 운항하는 두 선박은 각 선사 고유의 컨셉을 바탕으로 모던과 하이테크 스타일이 주를 이루고 있다. 두 선박은 공용공간에서 개방감을 표현하는 방법에 있어서 시각적, 심리적으로 표현하는 방법과 공간적으로 표현하는 방법으로 확연하게 나뉘어졌다. 컬러의 대비를 통해 공간의 볼륨감을 주고 외부의 빛이 들어 오는듯한 효과를 주어 공간의 개방감을 표현하였다. 본 연구는 세계적인 크루즈 선박의 거주 공간의 실내디자인 특성을 이해하고, 추후 크루즈 선박 실내 디자인 개발을 위한 유용한 기초 자료를 제공할 것으로 기대한다.

오늘날의 인류는 인위적 환경에 현실적으로 적응하고 있는 동시에, 자연환경으로의 복귀를 지향하려는 행태를 보이고 있다. 실내공간에서의 자연과 인간 그리고 공간이 온전한 공존관계를 유지하여 비자연성, 비인간화를 극복하고 인간과 자연이 함께 교감하며 풍요로와질 수 있는 공간 조성이 절실하다고 할 수 있다. 실내공간에 있어서 환경친화적인 표현을 실내공간에 자연요소로 도입하는 방안과 인간의 주변에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 자연물 또는 질서 있는 변화를 가진 아름다운 형태를 인위적인 디자인 형태로 표현하는 방안으로 나눌 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 실내디자인에 있어서 환경친화적인 특성을 모색하기 위해 먼저 환경친화의 개념과 발달 과정을 정의해 보고, 실내공간에서 광범위하게 나타난 환경친화적인 표현의 특성 중 자연요소 도입과 디자인적인 형태 표현으로 구분하여 진행한다. 연구분석의 사례로는 많은 사람을 수용하는 울산광역시 공공시설의 실내공간으로 제안하였다. 환경친화적인 공간의 형성은 아름답고 쾌적한 생활공간 조성이라는 시대적 요구에 따라 관련 연구가 더욱더 활성화, 전문화되어야 할 것으로 판단된다. 실내공간에서의 자연적 요소와 디자인적 형태의 표현이 폭넓은 이해와 심도 있는 연구로 병행될 때 바람직한 환경친화적인 표현이 창출될 것으로 본다.

Modern interior design is expanding diversely, with the rapid development of technology and change of era. The basic of interior space that is rapidly changing consists of floor, wall and ceiling, and these are formed by materials, materials for structure or finishing materials. In the modern interior space, materials are utilized to present an atmosphere that meets the trend of the dissolution of post-modernism and the trend of minimalism. Accordingly, in this study, designers who take serious view on the relation of space and material, and the relation focusing on completed works, in modern interior design were investigated. The interrelation of the representation of each material, organic space, minimal space, and the space of Oriental fusion style were investigated through the works of modern interior designers, such as Karim Rashid and Ettore Sottsass.

The purpose of this study is to suggest specific function of each areas and way to express reasonable interior elements within interior design of sports center in Korea. The method of this research is case study of sports center In various fields since 1980. During the study, it Is very clear that the most important points in designing of sports centers interior space to accomodate main body training areas and service area for the users. The other point is to explain within the space plan that there should be a clear understanding of general regulation for the installation element, function and behavioral facts. The social, cultural roles of sports center must have the function as a multi service facility. In summary this research is to present datas and suggestion to various areas in sports center and refine its new meaning of sports center space plan with much better designing.

Architecture is changing rapidly with contact of various cultures and development of modern technology and it is also becoming Polycentric. We can look at the tendency of deconstruction that denies logical rationality of modernism and minimalism that is known as a vertex of modernism. This kind of flow appears to be one of tendencies of interior design. Therefore, to satisfy the residents with the interior design, our study proposes a better space improving monotonousness of the existing apartment through case study. Through the case study, if we analyze the tendency applied to the characteristics of minimalism, we can divide into shape and space. Minimalism space says that the resident can build his/her own space according to the characteristics of the object. Also, it has an advantage of the resident being able to bring in furniture or decoration to change the characteristics of the space. With more accurate understanding and borrowing, we should do multilateral study to research the mixed loading and uncertain minimalism through the case study of apartment space.
