Recently, according to developing advanced construction technologies, buildings has been enlarged such as high-rise buildings or complex buildings associated with underground facilities. The number of indoor activity population has increased very quickly. Because of that, technical requirements for Indoor location based service (Indoor LBS) also have been increased. Although indoor networks have to be constructed for efficient LBSs in indoor space based on OGC IndoorGML, it is not suitable for large and complex space to apply the simple network structure to constructing indoor navigation networks. The indoor navigation network has to be constructed according to logical, physical, and functional constraints for indoor space. In order to do that, subspacing methods are required to partition large and complex indoor space into proper size of subspace. In this paper, we proposed the basic requirements of subspacing in indoor space for creating efficient indoor network, as well the work process of subspacing in indoor space.
The performance of human detection system is affected by camera location and view angle. In 2D image acquired from such camera settings, humans are displayed in different sizes. Detecting all the humans with diverse sizes poses a difficulty in realizing a real-time system. However, if the size of a human in an image can be predicted, the processing time of human detection would be greatly reduced. In this paper, we propose a method that estimates human size by constructing an indoor scene in 3D space. Since the human has constant size everywhere in 3D space, it is possible to estimate accurate human size in 2D image by projecting 3D human into the image space. Experimental results validate that a human size can be predicted from the proposed method and that machine-learning based detection methods can yield the reduction of the processing time.

In contemporary times, "environmental designers" need to consider both exterior and interior aspects because of the growing trend in dissolution between exterior and interior spaces. To quantify "spatial sense" which serves as the standard for environmental design, this study has asked 63 subjects to evaluate 15 interior and 14 exterior spaces. The "spaciousness (small-large)", "openness(closed-open)", "warmness(warm-cold)", "brightness(bright-dark)", "softness(soft-hard)", "spatial intimacy" and "frequency of visit" were adopted as variables of spatial sense. Through the analysis of these variables, this study could gain the difference between spatial sense for exterior and interior environments, quantify the spatial sense that physically and psychologically appropriates to human beings. The result of this study can be summarized as follows: Twice the amount of spaciousness was observed between the interior and exterior spaces. And the standard on intimate space is established with W/H ratio of 5.71 and high Window/Wall Area ratio in the interior and an area of 3,800m2 and a W/H ratio of 5.57 in exterior. The difference between the spatial sense in the interior and exterior space is mostly dependent on the psychological sense. The increase of physical size caused by the interior space to be perceived as cold, dark and hard psychologically, but exterior space to be perceived as warm, bright and soft. Psychological senses, especially softness, affect spatial intimacy to the greatest extent among the given variables. As the psychological senses for interior spaces were largely independent from the given space's size and perceptive senses, the size of the interior space, which exhibited spatial intimacy, could not be deduced. In comparison to this, due to the high dependency between the psychological senses for exterior spaces and the given space's size and perceptive senses. The study also showed that interior and exterior spaces have relatively different spatial sense and physical standards. Such research results are predicted to provide applicable standards for environmental designers for exterior and interior spaces in the future.

Naturally occurring radioactive materials (NORM) in building materials are main sources of external radiation exposure to the general public. The objective of this study was to assess external radiation dose in Korean dwellings due to NORM in concrete walls. Reference room model for dose assessment was made by analyzing room structure and housing scale of Korean dwellings. In addition, dose assessments were made for varying room sizes. Absorbed doses to air and effective dose rates were calculated using radiation transport code MCNPX. Assuming a reference room of $3{\times}4{\times}2.8m^3$, absorbed dose rates in air were 0.80, 0.97, 0.08 nGy $h^{-1}$ per Bq $kg^{-1}$ for uranium series, thorium series, and $^{40}K$, respectively. Effective dose rates were 0.57, 0.69, 0.058 nSv $h^{-1}$ per Bq $kg^{-1}$, respectively. Radiation dose resulting from concrete of ceiling and floor increased with room area while radiation dose from concrete of walls decreased with room area. Therefore, total radiation doses were almost the same for the varying room area from 5 to $30m^2$. Effective dose in Korean dwellings was calculated based on measurement data of NORM concentration in concrete and occupancy fraction of Korean population by location. Annual effective dose was 0.59 mSv assuming that indoor occupancy fraction was 0.89 and concentrations of uranium series, thorium series and $^{40}K$ were 26, 39, 596 Bq $kg^{-1}$, respectively. Finally, annual effective dose in Korean dwellings can be calculated by the following equation: Effective dose=indoor occupancy fraction${\times}8760\;h\;y^{-1}{\times}(0.57C_U+0.69C_{Th}+0.058C_K)$.
The overall concept of the interior space on a vehicle, which is related to the exterior design presents a new turning point at the body design concept on a vehicle and it means the interior space on a vehicle has the largest portion. The concept of the roominess at the interior space is consisted on many physical dimensions for the comfort of passengers, but these elements should be considered also as the result of the dynamic reflections of the characteristics of market demand, and it is not only to designate the physical dimensions and positions of the interior design elements, but also to influence to the total body shape of the vehicle. These days the concept of the interior space is now on the way of changing which is not limited only to the passenger car. The change is more evident especially at the total body shape which is not only the details of the exterior style and it would expend to other type of vehicles.
In this paper, we propose an indoor-space recognition using DNN and super-pixel. In order to recognize the indoor space from the image, segmentation process is required for dividing an image Super-pixel is performed algorithm which can be divided into appropriate sizes. In order to recognize each segment, features are extracted using a proposed method. Extracted features are learned using DNN, and each segment is recognized using the DNN model. Experimental results show the performance comparison between the proposed method and existing algorithms.
Marston (1913) and Spangler's (1982) theory was widely used in the analysis of the earth pressure of the narrow and long excavated ditch type backfield ground. Their theory was more clearly explained by expressing the minor principle stress arch connecting the minor principle stress link induced by interaction between the excavated wall surface and the backfilled earth. which was done by R.L. Handy(1985). Later C.G. Kellogg(1993) extended the study from vertical symmetric to incline symmetric in the backfill space type research. In the C.G. Kellogg's study, it is assumed that the resistance of wall friction on the sloping wall could be replaced by the internal friction angle in the sloping section bottom. In the study, the resistance of wall friction in the sloping section bottom, which was applied by C.G. Kellogg, would be different in magnitude with the resistance of wall friction in sloping section. The magnitude is expected to affect in the earth pressure calculation and verified by the soil test box, the C.G. Kellogg's theory, the numerical analysis and the modified C.G. Kellogg's theory considering the friction resistance to influence the incline wall.
It is expected that the integrated control service of the public sector will be increased for the safety of citizens in the future. Therefore, In this study, we analyzed the classification of CCTV control center and the characteristics of interior design. The survey was conducted at eight control centers in Seoul that were constructed since 2007 and analyzed according to the criteria of general matters, services, spatial basic information, spatial structure, and internal structure. The results of the survey are summarized as follows. Based on the results of the study, the Integrated Control Center is a space where the ratio of the physical environment is not high but performs important tasks for the citizens of the city, which are operated 24 hours a day, and security and security. It is characterized by the efficient space allocation for the treatment, the design of the moving line, and the connection according to the urgent work flow. The results of this study are expected to be used as basic data for other integrated control center environment.
