Design and Implementation of Response type of Flickering Green Signal System using Beacon Message (비콘메세지를 이용한 반응형 녹색점멸 신호시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • As a domestic traffic control signal system, either the system with which a traffic signal turns into green at regular intervals or the system with which an amber or a red signal flickers on local roads without heavy traffic at midnight has been utilized. However, when the former system is used for roads with light traffic at midnight, delays and congestion can be incurred. Besides, in case of the latter signal system, the risk of vehicle crash is high. This study proposes a response type of flickering green signal system that rearranges signal system after analyzing beacon messages including sensor data. The proposed system, on a trunk road or a branch road at midnight, makes the signal keep flickering in green; When a vehicle enters the range of RSE, the transfer coverage, it transmits beacon messages regularly and Agent System analyzes the messages and alters the signal. It is a system by which vehicles move following the altered signal system, which will not only ensure smooth flow but also prevent vehicles from crashing on a road with light traffic. As a result of a simulation, traffic throughput and the average waiting time displayed 10 to 30 percent better improvement than existing signal systems, in terms of performance.

  • 포도당 대사에서 중심적인 역할을 담당하고 있는 호르몬인 인슐린의 작용기전은 이전에 알려진 것보다 매우 다양하고 복잡한 세포내 신호전달 체계에 의해서 수행된다. 지난 10여년간 이러한 세포 신호전달 흐름내 중간물질인 여러 가지 단백질의 역할에 대해서 많은 연구가 진행되어 적지 않은 성과를 거두고 있다. 근래에는 해당 유전자에 대해 분자생물학적인 조작을 가하여 실험동물 체내에서 이러한 중간 단백질이 발현되지 못하도록 한 후, 각 조직에서의 인슐린 신호전달 체계를 더욱 심도 있게 연구하고 있다. 여러 연구방법 가운데서, 특히 조직 특이적으로 특정 유전자를 제거하여 태어난 개체를 이용하고, 또한 이들을 서로 교배시켜 나타나는 현상을 연구하여 비정상적인 포도당대사를 이해하는데 많은 도움을 받고 있다. 동물종에 따른 대사상의 차이점 등으로 인해 적지 않은 한계를 갖고 있지만, 동물 질환모델은 포도당 대사와 같은 생체 내에서 중요한 작용을 깊게 이해하고 더 나아가서는 비정상적인 대사를 밝히는데 핵심적인 역할을 수행하고 있다. 기초분야의 성과를 활용하는 응용학문인 축산분야에서도 이러한 접근방법과 연구 결과는 시사하는 바가 있을 것이다.

  • 연안역이란 해안선을 기준으로 인접해 있는 육지(연안지역)와 바다(연안해역)를 포함한 개념, 즉 인근 해양 환경에 영향을 미치는 배후 육지와 바다를 합친 자연환경 대이다. 국토해양부는 연안역의 공간이동 효율성을 높이고 부존해양자원의 체계적인 개발과 보전을 위해 "연안역관리법" 특별법으로 관리한다. 하지만 연안역의 안전시설물에 대한 체계적인 설계지침이나 유지관리 등의 지침서가 아직 만들어지지 않았다. 따라서 현재 연안역 설치되어 있는 안전시설물에 대한 현장조사를 하였으며 국내 외도로, 해안, 항만구조물의 안전시설기준을 비교, 분석, 정리하였다. 또한 인간공학을 통해 위험을 감소할 수 있는 청각적 시각적 신호 체계를 분석하여 연안역에 맞는 새로운 신호체계를 마련할 토대를 제시하고자 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 진보된 전파 항법장치인 GPS를 다른 측면으로 이용하여 도로의 센서 역할을 하는 개념으로 이용하여 복잡한 도로의 사정을 한번에 인식할 수 있고 또한 얻어진 데이터를 바탕으로 하여 현제의 무계획적인 신호체계를 효율적인 신호체계로 변화시키는데 사용하여 도로의 효율을 높이면서 정확한 데이터를 바탕으로 도로의 이용률 등을 알아 볼 수 있다.

A Study on Left-turn Queues Analysis using Queueing Theory under Permissive Left-turn Signal System (비보호좌회전 신호체계운영에 따른 좌회전 대기행렬분석에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, the optimal length of left-turn lane in permissive left-turn signal system at the signalized intersection which has a left-turn bay is estimated. It is a simulation analysis using the queueing theory that estimate the length of left-turn lane. Traffic density conform to the standards of operating a permissive left-turn system of the Practical Manual Traffic Safety Facilities. And each of a left-turn arrival rate, a left-turn service rate, left-turn average queueing time, for green time average queueing vehicle, for red time average queueing vehicle and average queueing vehicle cycle is calculated. As a result of this study, we would learn how much the space should be secured at the signalized intersection which has a left-turn bay. The methodology using the queueing theory to work out the optimal length of waiting lane in the permissive left-turn signal system was presented.

A Systematic Demapping Algorithm for Three-Dimensional Signal Transmission (3차원 신호 전송을 위한 체계적인 역사상 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, a systematic demapping algorithm for three-dimensional (3-D) lattice signal constellations is presented. The algorithm consists of decision of an octant, computation of a distance from the origin, and determination of the coordinates of a symbol. Since the algorithm can be extended systematically, it is applicable to the larger lattice constellations. To verify the algorithm, 3-D signal transmission systems with field programmable gate array (FPGA) and $Matlab^{(R)}$ are implemented. And they are exploited to carry out computer simulation. As a result, both hardware and software based systems produce almost the same symbol error rates (SERs) in an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) environment. In addition, the hardware based system implemented with an FPGA generates waveforms of 3-D signals and recovers the original binary sequences perfectly. Those results confirm that the algorithm and the implemented 3-D transmission system operate correctly.

도시지역 고정식 신호체계의 효율적 운영 ( The Efficient Operations of the Pretimed Signal System ( PSS ) in Urban Area )

  • Today transportation problems are severer with the increase of the vehicles and travel demand in urban areas, but could not be completely solved with only the expansion of the new transportation facilities. Because the expansion of the new transportation facilities are limited in urban areas. As one of the Transportation System Management(TSM) techniques in this study, the simulation results of the existing signal systems which were operated based upon the peak time periods for increasing the efficiency on the pretimed signalized intersections(PSI) during the different time periods : the AM on-Peak, the AM off-Peak, the PM off-Peak, and the PM on-Peak, were as follows : i) There was no distinct difference in the total traffic volumes concentrated on the signalized intersections during the different time periods, but a considerably big difference in the directional traffic volumes for those time periods. ii) There were about 53% reduction of the average delay and 51% reduction of the fuel consumption when applying the different signal systems to the different time periods regardless of the CBD and Non-CBD. iii) There were about 36% increase of the average delay and 33% increase of the fuel consumption when applying the same signal systems during the peak time periods to the different time periods regardless of the CBD and Non-CBD. Based on the above results, it was concluded that constructing the different signal systems for the different time periods would be better than construction the same ones for those periods on the pretimed signalized intersections in urban areas.

  • Korea, the traffic and transportation problems are significant because private cars are increasing constantly. Therefore, it is imperative to improve traffic condition so as to solve the problems such as traffic congestion and accidents which may occur due to the increase of vehicles in a limited area through the signal control. However, the current operating system for traffic control cannot provide car users the optimal signal but it generates a time delay of vehicles, traffic congestions etc. In this paper, we propose and implement the system based on V2X based automatic controller, which reduces the waste of time and the driver's psychological stress on the road intersection.

Analysis of the Effects of Traffic Signal Operation Methods (대전시 신호운영체계 개편에 따른 효과분석)

  • Delay reduction of vehicles at the intersection is highly dependent on the signal operation method. Most previous traffic operations have focused on minimizing delay by adjust traffic offset. However, these methods have limitation in solving traffic problem if the volume reaches or exceeds the capacity. In this paper, it was analyzed that the effectiveness of various signal operation methods such as left-turn prohibition, and using protected mixed with permitted left turn using the traffic data from Daejeon city. In case of the left-turn prohibition of a intersection, the control delay reduced from 54.2 seconds to 22.7 seconds and especially, the delay of the southbound was drastically reduced. In addition, the delay was highly reduced from 27.0 seconds to 12.1 seconds when the operation system was changed to use protected mixed with permitted left turn.
