The Low Probability of Intercept RADAR Waveform Based on Random Phase and Code Rate Transition for Doppler Tolerance Improvement (도플러 특성 개선을 위한 랜덤 위상 및 부호율 천이 기반 저피탐 레이다 파형)

  • In modern electronic warfare, RADAR is under constant threat of ECM(Electronic Counter Measures) signals from nearby jammers. The conventional linear frequency modulated(Linear-FM) waveform is easy to be intercepted to estimate its signal parameters due to its periodical phase transition. Recently, APCN(Advanced Pulse Compression Noise) waveform using random amplitude and phase transition was proposed for LPI(Low probability of Intercept). But random phase code signals such as APCN waveform tend to be sensitive to Doppler frequency shift and result in performance degradation during moving target detection. In this paper, random phase and code rate transition based radar waveform(RPCR) is proposed for Doppler tolerance improvement. Time frequency analysis is carried out through ambiguity analysis to validate the improved Doppler tolerance of RPCR waveform. As a means to measure the vulnerability of the proposed RPCR waveform against LPI, WHT(Wigner-Hough Transform) is adopted to analyze and estimate signal parameters for ECCM(Electronic Counter Counter Measures) application.

Characteristics of Pulse Wave Velocity by the Simultaneously Measured ECG Waveform and Hall Device Radial Artery Waveform (ECG 파형과 홀소자 맥진파형으로 동시 측정한 맥파전달속도 특성 연구)

  • In the this research, two simultaneous peaks of radial artery pulse wave and ECG pulse wave measured by using clip-type pulsimeter and ECG were investigated in order to analyze pulse wave velocity. The measured value of a pulse wave velocity is about 5~7 m/s, it is proved one new method to measure an exact value of pulse wave velocity more than the typical biomedical signal monitoring system. This result implies that data measured by the oriental medical diagnosis apparatus as pulsimeter is clinically used in future.

  • 음성합성은 합성방식에 따라 파형부호화법, 신호원부호화법, 혼성부호화법으로 분류 할 수 있다. 특히 고음질 합성을 위해서는 파형부호화를 이용한 합성방식이 적합하다. 그렇 지만, 파형부호화를 이용한 합성법은 여기 성분과 여파기 성분을 분리하지 않고 처리하기 때문에 음절단위나 음소단위의 합성기법으로는 바람직하지 못하다. 따라서 파형부호화법을 규칙에 의한 합성에 적용되도록 음원피치를 변경시키기 위한 피치 변경법이 필요하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 스펙트럼 왜곡을 최소화하기 위해 켑스트럼의 성질을 이용하여 피치를 변경 하는 방법에 대하여 제안하였다. 이 방법은 주파수영역상에서 여기 스펙트럼과 여파기 스펙 트럼을 분리하여 여기 스펙트럼을 여기 켑스트럼으로 변환한 후 영값 삽입이나 삭제에 의해 피치를 변경하고 스펙트럼영역에서 피치 변경된 스펙트럼을 재구성하는 기법을 적용하였다. 제안한 방법의 성능을 평가하기 위해 스펙트럼 왜곡율을 측정하여 본 결과 평균 스펙트럼 왜곡율은 평균 2.29%이하로 유지되었으며 주관적인 음질도 평균 3.74로 우수하였다.

  • 주어진 채널에 대하여 원하는 성질을 갖는 통신신호 파형을 설계하는데 있어 본 논문에서는 발생하는 잡음과 간섭의 효과를 최소화해주는 신호 셀을 생성하기 위해 시간-주파수제안된 WPM 변조 기법을 현재 사용되고 있는 QAM 방식과 비교하여 광범위한 간섭 환경에 적응적으로 대처할 수 있는 융통성있는 구조를 제공해줌을 보였다.

2-D Forward Modeling on an Explosion Data in Korea (한반도의 폭파자료에 대한 2-D 수치 모델링 연구)

  • To enhance capability on discerning local and regional seismic phases, such as, Pn, Pg, Sn, Rg, etc, within the crust, 2-D numerical forward modeling will be applied to the data obtained from local seismic stations by simulating almost all waves including not only body wave but also surface wave generated without having to explicitly include them under consideration of Q factor. In this study, after getting rid of instrumental response by deconvolution, pseudo-spectral method instead of relying on typical numerical methods, such as, FEM(Finite Element Method) and FDM(Finite Difference Method), will be implemented for 2-D numerical forward modeling by considering velocities of P-wave and S-wave, density, and Q factors. Ultimately, the Power of reaching the enhanced capability on discerning local and regional seismic phases will make it easier for us to identify the seismic source, whether it is originated from man-made explosion or pure earthquake.

Analysis of Topological Invariants of Manifold Embedding for Waveform Signals (파형 신호에 대한 다양체 임베딩의 위상학적 불변항의 분석)

  • This paper raises a question of whether a simple periodic phenomenon is associated with the topology and provides the convincing answers to it. A variety of music instrumental sound signals are used to prove our assertion, which are embedded in Euclidean space to analyze their topologies by computing the homology groups. A commute time embedding is employed to transform segments of waveforms into the corresponding geometries, which is implemented by organizing patches according to the graph-based metric. It is shown that commute time embedding generates the intrinsic topological complexities although their geometries are varied according to the spectrums of the signals. This paper employs a persistent homology to determine the topological invariants of the simplicial complexes constructed by randomly sampling the commute time embedding of the waveforms, and discusses their applications.

  • The SC-FDMA(single carrier-frequency division multiple access) was recently adopted as the uplink multiple access scheme from 3GPP LTE(3rd Generation Partnership Project Long Tenn Evolution) due to its low PAPR (Peak-to-averaged power ratio). The bandwidth of IFDMA(interleaved FDMA), one of the sub-carrier mapping methods of SC-FDMA, gets narrower as the roll-off factor of RRC(root raised cosine) filter decreases from 1 to 0, whereas its PAPR can increase significantly. In practice, to increase the power efficiency of an amplifier, signals with high PAPR undergo the process of clipping. Clipping of signals may cause regeneration of high-frequency components as well as distortion of signals. The current paper deals with the effect of clipping on the spectrum and BER of IFDMA signals with RRC filters.

Performance evaluation of a modified waveform shaping filter for the underwater acoustic communication (수중 음향 통신에 있어서 변형된 파형 정형 필터의 성능 평가)

  • The transmitted acoustic signals are severely influenced by multiply reflected signals from boundaries, such as sea surface and bottom in the shallow water. Very large reflection signals from boundaries cause inter-symbol interference so that the performance of the underwater acoustic communication is degraded. Usually, the waveform shaping filters are used to prevent the reflected signals under this kind of acoustic channel. Especially, the raised cosine filter is widely used, which can also be used to restrict the bandwidth of the transmitted signal. In this study, we evaluate the raised cosine filter for image data transmission in the shallow water, and propose a new modified raised cosine filter. The QPSK (Quadrature Phase Shift Keying) system is used for the underwater acoustic communication simulations with different distances and symbol rates. As a result, the bit error rate was reduced from the minimum 1.0 % to the maximum 32 %.

Development of the Ka-band Frequency Synthesizer and Receiver based on MMIC (MMIC 기반 Ka대역 주파수합성기 및 수신기 개발)

  • In this paper, the frequency synthesis(FS) MMIC and the receive MMICs were developed for a Ka-band compact radar. Also a compact Ka-band frequency synthesizer and a receiver were developed based on those MMICs. The FS MMIC and the wireless-receiver(WR) MMIC to receive the baseband frequency were manufactured by a 65 nm CMOS process and the front-end(FE) MMIC to receive the Ka-band frequency was manufactured by a 150 nm GaN process. Linear frequency modulation waveform and pulse waveform for the transmit signal were measured by output signal of frequency synthesizer. The measured performance of developed receiver including the FE MMICs and the WR MMIC were ≧ 80 dB gain, ≦ 6 dB noise figure and ≧ 10 dBm at OP1dB. The measurement results of the developed frequency synthesizer and the receiver including the manufactured MMICs showed that they could be applied to Ka-band compact radar.

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 여러 가지 무선 홈 네트워크에 대해 개괄하고 새로운 표준인 Binary CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access)를 이용한 Koinonia 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 멀티 코드 CDMA 시스템을 고속의 멀티미디어 전송을 위해 변형한 형태이다. 멀티코드 사용 시 송신 신호 파형이 멀티 레벨로 나타나게 되어 시스템의 구조가 복잡해지고 가격이 비싸지는 단점이 존재한다. 이러한 기술적 문제점을 해결하기 위해 멀티레벨의 신호를 부호화 블록을 통해 정진폭으로 변환해 전송한다. 이를 통해서 복잡한 멀티 레벨의 신호가 간단히 나타나므로 전송되는 신호의 파형이 간단히 표현되어지고 수신기의 구조가 간단해진다. 그리고, 제안된 시스템은 멀티 코드 방식을 기반으로 하기 때문에 디지털 가전기기나 3세대 이동통신과, WPAN과 관련된 무선 네트워크 응용과 같은 미래의 고속의 무선 멀티미디어 서비스를 지원하기에 적합하다.
