본 논문은 동아, 조선, 중앙, 한겨레 신문의 2000-2009년까지의 신문 자료에서 나타나는 문화 소비 현상의 트렌드에 대한 분석이다. 구체적으로, 명사 '트렌드'와의 공기어(공기 명사) 중에서 10년 동안 꾸준히 증가하는 단어들(일반 명사, 고유 명사)을 살펴보고 이것들의 속성에 따라서 명사를 분류하여 공기어의 증감도를 살펴본다. t-score를 이용하여 공기어를 추출하고 이들의 증감도를 분석하여 매년 공기하여 나타는 정도가 증가하는 단어를 대상으로 연구하였다. 이러한 명사의 빈도 증가를 통해 신문에서 나타나는 사회적 트렌드를 관찰할 수 있다.

This paper aims to review Ahn Jae-Hong's studies on the history of the Korean press from the perspective of research history focussing his "Josun Shinmun Sosa(A Short History of the Korean Press)" published in 1935. For this purpose major discussions with respect to journalistic history during the Japanese occupation period are reviewed. The result reveals that Ahn Jae-Hong's studies using a comparative method and a social historical approach are judged to be the most representative outcomes at that time. The "Josun Shinmun Sosa" first explains "Inhaeng Jobo" and "Jeobo" as an origin of newspaper, and then explains various subjects on newspaper phenomena in the latter era of the Chosun Dynasty such as participants of major newspapers, the tone of newspapers, the analysis of newspaper character through evaluation of main articles, the system of newspaper, newspaper advertisements, pro-Japanese newspapers, newspapers managed by Japanese, newspapers for overseas Korean, etc. But partly it gives a general description rather than a detailed research due to the nature of contributions to the newspaper, and also includes an objective analysis and a subjective impression together. Nevertheless his researches can be valued as pioneering pieces of work as they comprehensively handled various objects of study on newspapers and gave new angle and orientation of interpretation on the newspaper phenomena at that time. Also it is judged that they had an effect on the period division as well as the description methods for the study of the history of the Korean press.

This study examines the main characteristics and differences on people's page in selected four national dailies, such as Chosun Ilbo, Joongang Ilbo, Seoul Shinmum and Hankyoreh Shinmun. Both Chosun Ilbo and Joongang Ilbo are categorized as the conservatives; while Seoul Shinmum and Hankyoreh Shinmun as the progressive. This study has been done by applying methods of content analysis to reveal the differences in terms of people's occupations, types of reports, their philosophies, and standards of selecting people by the dailies for the people's pages. The results shows that the conservative newspapers are very similar to the progressive newspapers in terms of occupations and the types of reports, covering the people on people's pages. More specifically, both the conservative dailies and the progressive dailies report the people for whose jobs are related to both social and cultural works. However, the conservative newspapers have much more coverages than the progressive papers in terms of the publicity reporting on the people. The conservatives are also much more reports on the people who are eager to economic success than the progressive dailies; while the progressives papers have much coverages on those who are interesting in helping others than the conservatives papers. Finally, this study reveals that the conservative dailies mainly cover those who are in publicity activities and social elite groups, while the progressive newspapers are the social celebrities and persons of fame in society.

This study examined the application of the FRBR model to newspapers and news articles. In order to meet the purpose that was mentioned above, we analyzed data items based on the level of newspapers and articles and discussed how the FRBR model may be applied. In terms of the level of a newspaper, each of newspapers, morning/evening paper, issue and edition are regarded as an individual work, and the relationship among them are considered to be the 'whole-part relationship'. Each article on the level of article basis was considered to be a work and was in a relationship of 'whole-part relationship' with the edition of each level of newspapers. Newspaper articles can be represented as texts, photographs, graphics, and tables, etc., and regarded as an individual work. Each work can be a part of the article on a newspaper or can be an independent article itself. Moreover, a uniform heading of each boxed article and running story is included in the work of each article and is forming a 'whole-part relationship'. Because of the changes of the newspaper name, the uniform title of each name regarded as a single binding. It is called the superwork and it is forming 'whole-part relationship' with each name.

스포츠선수들에 대한 섹슈얼리티는 '유니폼 관련 섹슈얼리티', '선수의 신체적 특징 관련 섹슈얼리티', '외모 관련 섹슈얼리티' 요인으로 구성되었다. 인터넷신문의 스포츠영상에 묘사된 섹슈얼리티가 인터넷신문의 이용자에게 미치는 영향에 대한 분석에서는 남자 실험집단에서만 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 남자집단의 피실험집단과 남녀경기 처치집단 간 차이가 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 인터넷신문의 스포츠영상에 묘사된 섹슈얼리티에 대한 인지도는 남자집단의 피실험집단에 비해 남녀경기 처치집단이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 인터넷신문의 스포츠영상에 묘사된 섹슈얼리티는 남성스포츠 소비자들에게 더 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 볼 수 있다.

방사성폐기물 관리시설에 관한 신문의 관심은 매우 컸으며, 3개월 동안에 480건의 기사를 8개 신문에서 실었다. 사설도 38건이었으나 상황과 사안에 따라 모든 신문이 정형화된 내용과 비판을 하였다. 기사는 대부분 정부의 보도 자료에 의존한 하거나, 시위소식 등을 전하는 단순사안이었고, 심층보도는 이 사업 추진에 가장 큰 장애요소가 되고 있는 지역주민과 시민단체의 반대논리와 여론을 이해할 수 있도록 전달하지 못하였다. 특히 가장 쟁점이 될 수 있는 방사성폐기물의 위험과 안전에 대해서는 68건의 심층 보도 가운데 17건에서만 언급되고 있었는데, 그 내용도 위험성과 안전에 대한 해설이나 분석기사는 아니었다. 결과적으로 신문은 정부와 지역주민간의 갈등을 해결하는 조화의 장을 이끌어 내거나 제공하지 못하였고, 찬성과 반대 측 전문가들에게 공론의 장을 제공하여 사회적 합의를 도출하는데 기여하지는 못하였다. 오히려 많은 기사 보도의 남발로 방사성폐기물 관리시설에 대한 부정적인 이미지를 부각시키는 영향만 남았다고 판단된다.

온라인 미디어의 발전으로 인터넷 신문 웹사이트의 유형과 범위도 확대되고 그에 따른 정확한 평가가 필요해지고 있다. 특히 웹사이트의 유형에 따라 평가요인의 상대적 중요도가 다르기 때문에, 그에 따라 요소들의 중요도를 정확히 추출하는 것이 중요하다. 그러나 인터넷 신문 웹사이트 평가요소를 합리적으로 산출하는 방법에 관한 연구는 아직 미흡하다. 본 논문에서는 인터넷 신문 웹사이트의 특화된 요인을 산출하고 분석하기 위하여 HP 기법을 적용하였다. 특히, 인터넷 신문 평가를 위해 처음으로 평가 요소의 가중치를 활용하였다. 이러한 신출물에 대한 분석 결과는 새로운 인터넷 미디어 서비스 개발에 활용될 수 있다.

This study examined how newspapers covered the 60th anniversary of the historical event, 8 15 Independence Day. Specifically, five newspapers from three countries were content-analyzed to see differences, if any, based on country level and political ideology of the newspaper. The findings showed that Japanese newspapers yielded less amount of coverage than those of Korea and China. The newspapers of Korea and China used straight news format, while Japanese newspapers used opinion news format. In terms of information source, Korean newspapers and Chinese newspapers mainly relied on the information from the government, while Japanese newspapers took the information from citizen. The difference also revealed that Korean newspapers focused on domestic situation frame and the other countries more emphasized past memory of the War times. Consequently, the three countries showed clearly different perspectives on the same historical event. These distinctions were caused from national interest rather than political ideology of the newspaper.

This study aims at understanding the components of on-line newspaper and how each newspaper's layout configuration is differentiated through the analysis on the websites of 10 general daily newspapers in the news stand of NAVER. The collection of data was implemented twice, and One-Way ANOVA was used as an analyzing way. The content of the analysis was carried out based on the types of visual images, the number of photo-based articles and title-based articles, the size of image for the main story, etc. As a result of analysis, the rate of news articles with the audios, videos, cards and slides differentiated from paper-based newspaper was low, and also the news articles using the informative graphics and the graphic sources were very small in number. As a whole, the newspapers in the news stand of NAVER showed that they attempt to make a distinction of their newspaper layout by using a variety of editorial techniques. The significance of this paper is to offer a basic clue to the editing formation to promote the news consumption of newspapers. Under the circumstance that the ecology of media is rapidly being reformed by new media technology, the continuous study of how the newspaper layout should be changed will be needed.

This study is to understand difference in news preferences targeting internet newspaper readers across the country. 146 random readers were chosen for the survey from Oct. 17 to 18 in 2012. The analyses were based on job categories, genders, and ages. As the result of the analysis, students read the internet newspapers the most. According to gender and age, job category was also significant. Males were mostly studiers, then office workers, and professionals, and females were mostly students, then office workers, unemployed, and housewife. The research confirmed that internet newspaper readers read real-time news conveniently whenever, wherever. This suggests a theological basis for media policy by implying paid paper-based newspaper readers are shifting to free, internet-based newspapers using cellular phones.
