A Comparative Study on the Reliability Growth Enhancement Activities Using "ANALYSIS" and "TEST" through FMECA and Highly Accelerated Life Tests (신뢰성 성장 강화를 위한 Analysis 방법(FMECA)과 Test(초가속수명시험-HALT) 비교 연구)

  • When developing weapons systems, it is important to implement the functions and performance of equipment suitable for development purposes, but it is very important to ensure that the equipment is capable of operating without any vacuum with reliability after development. Therefore, various activities are carried out to enhance reliability of equipment. Reliability is enhanced by using high-specification parts in development, reliability verification through analysis, and testing using development prototypes to reinforce and improve the parts that are lacking in equipment. However, recently, development schedules are shortened due to rapidly changing external conditions and technologies, and there are cases where sufficient reliability growth activities were not carried out due to problems such as cost. Examples are projects that perform reliability activities only in analytical methods (reliability, FMECA). In this paper, analyzing and testing methods for analysis and testing were carried out on the same equipment through FMECA and super-accelerated life test, the contents of reliability growth activity were derived, the results of design change/review were accordingly compared, the differences between the two methods were analyzed, and measures were proposed to strengthen reliable growth activities. It was concluded that reliable growth activities through analysis from the beginning of development and reliable growth activities through testing should be carried out at the completion of initial prototype production.

Reliability Updates of Driven Piles Based on Bayesian Theory Using Proof Pile Load Test Results (베이지안 이론을 이용한 타입강관말뚝의 신뢰성 평가)

  • For the development of load and resistance factor design, reliability analysis is required to calibrate resistance factors in the framework of reliability theory. The distribution of measured-to-predicted pile resistance ratio was obrained based on only the results of load tests conducted to failure for the assessment of uncertainty regarding pile resistance and used in the conventional reliability analysis. In other words, successful pile load test (piles resisted twice their design loads without failure) results were discarded, and therefore, were not reflected in the reliability analysis. In this paper, a new systematic method based on Bayesian theory is used to update reliability indices of driven steel pipe piles by adding more proof pile load test results, even not conducted to failure, to the prior distribution of pile resistance ratio. Fifty seven static pile load tests performed to failure in Korea were compiled for the construction of prior distribution of pile resistance ratio. The empirical method proposed by Meyerhof is used to calculate the predicted pile resistance. Reliability analyses were performed using the updated distribution of pile resistance ratio. The challenge of this study is that the distribution updates of pile resistance ratio are possible using the load test results even not conducted to failure, and that Bayesian updates are most effective when limited data are available for reliability analysis.

  • 신뢰성 평가 시험은 종종 성능 평가에 장기간의 시간이 요구되며, 전체 생산비용까지 증가시키는 문제점을 안고 있다 스트레스를 이용한 가속수명시험은 제품의 신뢰성 고장과 밀접한 관련이 있는 고장 메커니즘의 촉진을 통해 고장에 이르는 기간을 단축함으로써 신뢰성 평가의 효율성을 도모할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 스트레스 가속 시험에 빈도가속(Usage-Rate Acceleration) 또는 판정가속(Tightening Critical-Values) 등을 결합하여 한층 높은 가속효과를 도모하는 방법을 제안하고, 국내에서 생산되고 있는 2차 전지 제품에 대한 실제 시험 사례분석을 통해 결합된 가속방법의 효과를 실증적으로 보여주고 있다.

A Round Robin Study of Solid Content Test and Applicability Estimation of FT-IR Analysis for Chemical Admixtures (다자비교시험을 통한 화학혼화제 고형분량 시험법의 신뢰성 및 FT-IR 분석에 대한 효용성 평가)

  • Acceptance criteria for chemical admixtures of cement concrete were investigated in domestic and international specifications. The reliability was verified for solid content test method of chemical admixture examined statistical analysis by round robin test. The applicability of FT-IR spectroscopy for qualitative measurement of multi-compound chemical admixtures verified. From solid content experimental results, outlier analysed using Cochran, Grubbs and Dickson's Q test. Repeatability and reproducibility standard deviation for solid content results showed 0.25 and 0.098% respectively according to KS A ISO 5725-2 procedure, it can be confirmed reliability of test methods. FT-IR spectrum of liquefied or oven-dried chemical admixtures condition showed big differences. It is needed that the FT-IR analysis is performed on dry material. However there's no difference with the applicability of FT-IR spectroscopy for multi-compound chemical admixtures. So the utility of method analysis could not identify.

  • Recent modeling and simulation technologies are being used in various fields, especially in the field of military simulation-based acquisition (Simulation Based Acquisition) is recognized as an essential policy. In test and evaluation phase of the SBA process, to build a simulation-based T&E(test and evaluation) environment is needed when T&E cannot be carried by real weapon system. To improve efficiency and reliability for T&E, interoperability, reusability and reliability for T&E equipments and systems are important. In this study, we propose applying simulation framework for efficienct test and applying VV&A process for reliable evaluation. We describes the characteristics of the development process, the actual test cases and the results of evaluation. Finally utilization plan and the future direction of research is described.

  • SW 기술이 급변하는 현 시점에서는 SW 관리의 중요성이 인식되어 SW 품질향상을 위한 제도 개선의 일안으로 SW 개발 산출물에 대한 SW 신뢰성 시험이 요구되고 있으나, SW 신뢰성 시험에 투입되는 비용, 시간적 제약 및 휴먼에러 등으로 인해 SW 시험요구조건을 충족하는데 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 문제 해결 도구로써 린6시그마 방법론을 활용하여 SW 신뢰성시험시간을 단축하고 인적오류를 감소할 수 있는 방안을 제안한다.

  • The requirements of reliability verification for new products and technology are increasing more and more in accordance with the trend of climate change prevention and GHG reduction technology, functional skills. SCA(Swirl Control Actuator) is the important part of a car intake manifold system. This device generates swirl that is mixing the fuel and air into the engine combustion chamber. This is to improve output for engine and reduce the emission for exhaust. In this article reliability assessment criteria for swirl control actuator for automobiles are established in terms of basic HALT and life time test.

  • Because consumer mostly utilizes company test standard, supplier spends burden of expenses on building test equipments and managing expert manpower to fulfill consumer's various tests. Therefore, it is urgent to standardize test assessment which has a bond of sympathy between consumer and supplier and evaluates reliability of their products. This study develops reliability assessment standard which is composed of 12 test items considering international and domestic test standards, company internal test standards of consumer companies and field conditions. Also this study introduces overall technical procedure on accelerated test with no failure which is used for the main technology of reliability assessment. To verify effectiveness of reliability assessment, the test results are herein analyzed through building the test equipments and performing the test items.

  • By using the failure information and the cumulative test execution time obtained by performing the reliability growth test, it is possible to estimate the parameter of the reliability growth model, and the Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) of the product can be predicted through the parameter estimation. However the failure information could be acquired periodically or the number of sample data of the obtained failure information could be small. Because there are various constraints such as the cost and time of test or the characteristics of the product. This may cause the error of the parameter estimation of the reliability growth model to increase. In this study, the Bayesian method is applied to estimating the parameters of the reliability growth model when the number of sample data for the fault information is small. Simulation results show that the estimation accuracy of Bayesian method is more accurate than that of Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) respectively in estimation the parameters of the reliability growth model.

  • In evaluation of electronic reliability on the PCB(Print Circuit Borad),electrochemical migration is one of main test objects. The phenomenon of electrochemical migration occurs in the environment of the hight humidity and the hight temperature under bias through a continuous aqueous electrolyte. In this paper, the generating mechanism of electrochemical migration is investigated by using water drop acceleration test under various waters. The waters used in the water drop test are city water, distilled water and ionic water. It found that the generated velocity of electrochemical migration depended on electrolyte quantity which included in the various waters.
