An epidemiological study was conducted, from April 28 to June 3, 1975, to investigate source and course of infection of typhoid fever occurred in Munhyeon Dong, Nam Gu, Busan. The obtained results were as follows: 1. The entity of unknown febrile disease was identified as Salmonella typhi, D group and it's symptoms were abdominal pain, diarrhea, hepatomegaly, nausea and vomiting, aplenomegaly, rose spots, tenderness of ileocecal region etc., in that order. 2. The average duration from onset to recovery was 25.2 days and incidence rate was 39.5 per 1,000 population. 3. The source of infection was presumed a charity patient. 4. By the duration of report on the cases from onset, 10-19 days group was the highest. 5. The positive rate of initial stool culture was 38.9% and secondary was 5.6%. 6. Distribution of the cases by age and sex showed that 5-9 years old group was the highest as 30.5%, and male was higher than female. 7. Distribution of the cases by education level, under primary school as 66.6% was the highest. By the living standard, the highest was low income earner group as 77.8%. 8. Utilization rate of medical facilites was drug store (41.7%), herbal drug (8.3%), clinic (5.6%) in that order.

Intentional releases occur frequently during maintenance in gas supplying companies, which may result in unpleasant odors, and the possible mistaken belief of a gas accident. Therefore, this study developed a chemical process for effective odorant removal in natural gas using an active chemical that is released intentionally during maintenance and inspection. To develop an effective treatment process for removing the odorant from released natural gas, the effluent concentrations of the odorant in the released gas were measured after a chemical oxidation reaction with a sodium hypochlorite solution in a compact gas scrubbing equipment newly devised in this study. The device was based on a mixed gas vent after the solution inject odorant in the gas through the energy of the venting gas. The cascade combination of a venturi pipe and mixing chamber was developed to remove the odorant effectively from the purposely-released natural gas using an oxidative reaction between the mercaptan compounds (odorant) and the sodium hypochlorite solution. On the other hand, the developed method could be applied limitedly to a relatively small gas release from a low-pressure source. Further studies will be needed to apply the developed process to a large-scale gas release from a high-pressure source.
The presence of traditional media content on online platforms is one of the critical issues nowadays, and Article 17 of the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA) seeks to regulate this. However, it can be seen that the current version of the text is not yet free of flaws: both its harmonisation with the Digital Services Regulation, its use of definitions and the media fast track mechanism it contains would require careful legislative scrutiny before the final text is adopted. The article examines if the self-declaration procedure envisaged by the EMFA would create a loophole for rogue media actors and bring confusion at both the European and horizontal levels or if it would fit the original goal of the EMFA, which is to improve the functioning of the internal European media market and to reinforce the independent media.
Al-Qaeda follower who planned to attacks the Pentagon and the Assembly by unmanned aircraft equipped with explosives was caught in the dictionary in September 2011. In addition, high-performance unmanned aerial vehicles in the United States 'sentinel' of the technology being leaked to Iran in late 2011 was an accident. Terrorist attacks on the forces used unmanned aircraft will be the day the not too distant. The purpose of this research is to provide response plans against acts of terrorism utilizing unmanned aircrafts to prevent large losses of lives such as the terrorist attacks of September 11. Discussing in detail, this research suggests revising and newly implementing the definition and categorization of unmanned aircrafts as well as relevant punishment in current aeronautics regulations as an initial response against acts of terrorism utilizing unmanned aircrafts. This is in order to newly implement and revise current relevant regulations that inadequately address the rapidly developing and changing unmanned aircrafts which will lead to increased sense of alarm for the potential terrorists, and also to introduce a systematic tool to punish those who commit such acts by clearly establishing the grounds for punishment. Also, under the binary operating system over airspace currently implemented globally, it is impossible to identify and control the infiltration of airspace by unmanned aircrafts. Recognizing such limitations, this research suggests a combined operation of airspace for unmanned and manned aircrafts as a second way of response for acts of terrorism utilizing unmanned aircrafts. A systematic integrated operation of airspace will appropriately control unmanned/ manned aircrafts that were not previously reported or otherwise have deviated from navigation routes, and will be able to prevent terrorism attempts utilizing aircrafts beforehand.
The purpose of this study was to analyze perceptions to hindering factors and development factors for water leisure activation. In order to accomplish the study purpose, this study employed a survey method with water leisure participants and employees from 6 regions(participants=205, employees=117). The data were analyzed using independent t-tests at a=.05 and following findings were derived from current study. First, among 20 hindering factors, water leisure participants had higher levels of perceptions than employees in licence system, limited activation regulation, departure report regulation, absence of exclusive organization, lack of providing information, lack of participative events and support systems. Second, relatively highly perceived hindering factors included departure report regulation, limited activation regulation, licence system, lack of government support, lack of mooring facility and lack of exclusive charged organization, in order. Third, the important development factors perceived by participants included support for licence and education and diversified water leisure programs but those perceived by employees included placement of educated experts and related event host and publicity. Finally, relatively highly perceived development factors included activation of free experience, promotion of marina development, support for licence and education, diversified programs and support for water leisure business. Accordingly, the findings provided fundamental information that both central and regional government can utilize for further activating water leisure. In addition, several development strategies were discussed on financial support, facility support, human resource support, education support and event support perspectives.
This study was conducted to find a potential effect of ethephon or dichlorprop spray on the fruit growth and maturation in 'Niitaka' pears. Chemicals were applied between June 10 to 24 (7-9 weeks after full bloom). Ethephon in the range from 25 ppm to 100 ppm, and dichlorprop from 20 ppm to 40 ppm reduced the fruit size regardless application time and concentration. The fruit growth was more inhibited at the higher concentrations in both chemicals. Flesh firmness was more rapidly decreased in the fruit treated by both chemicals. Firmness at harvest was lowest in the treatment of 100 ppm ethephon. The climacteric increase of ethylene synthesis occurred earlier in the fruit treated by ethephon or dichlorprop regardless application concentrations and the maximum peak of ethylene production was rugher. Total phenolics significantly reduced in fruits treated with ethephon. However, the contents of soluble solids and acid were not affected by ethephon or dichlorprop treatment. Ground color was changed rapidlys by the treatments resulting in the early maturation of fruit. Optimum maturity of fruit was shortened 2-3 days by ethephon and 3-4 days by dichlorporp when maturity was determined on the basis of ground color development and firmness.
School violence that have occurred recently, showing a tendency to collectivization and diverse types of violence, as well as the quality and increase the damage levels. School violence in the home, school, and social factors, but is caused by the lack of awareness about the violence and the reporting of consciousness due to poor acts of violence indirectly assisted. The only place violence has caused the school to establish the legal and institutional arrangements in order to minimize school violence have no choice but to limit its effectiveness is negligible. The problem of school violence in connection with the problem of juvenile crime prevention and control, and punishment should be made of the complex and layered. Operation and School police system, School safety keeper system, school sheriff system since 2005, each municipality in order to minimize school violence, but have no practical help to limit the visible and symbolic effects. Nonexistent professional staff of the institution or school safety monitors emphasis on monitoring the physical state of the system in the form of 'guards' departure inherently have limitations. Also, to prevent criminal acts or violence in the state is not given special privileges and the appropriate role for the school keeper is a problem with the system. Report no other role can not be expected. Should therefore be preceded by a systematic improvement and training of experts in order to prevent school violence, and home and school, in terms of social support and measures.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the perceptions to improvement directions of related regulations for water leisure activation. In order to accomplish such study purpose, the study utilized a survey methodology with 205 water leisure participants and 117 water leisure business employees. In addition, this study attempted to review the license and education system, registration and inspection system and business organizations from the advanced countries such as US, British, Australia and Japan. Accordingly, following findings were derived from current study. First, the problems of current license system included difficulty of operating the system and deficiency of operating organizations, and the improvement directions included expansion of education organizations and differentiation of education based on levels. Second, the improvement directions of registration and inspection included simplification of registration procedures and expansion of registration and inspection organizations. Third, difficulties perceived by business employees included complexity of entry and departure, complexity of registrating water leisure business and insufficiency of supporting business policies. In conclusion, water leisure related regulations including Water Leisure Safety Act need to be reformed continuously to reflect changing demands and needs from participants and business sectors.
As increasing of container throughputs, port business market in Korea has been developed. However, due to the introducing of a handling fee reporting system in 1999 and surplus of facilities, port business market in Korea turned into deadly competition with lowering the handling fee. Due to the reasons, the handling fee in 2015 declined as much as 50% of in 2000. Therefore, this study analyzed whether the handling fee decline caused consumer surplus in the port business market of Korea or not. To do that, this study applied a methodology of Alexander for estimating the consumer surplus and Hausman's model using Hicksian demand. As the result of the analyzing, due to the excessive decreasing of the handling fee compared the import & export demand, consumer surplus of the port business market in Korea was decreased. However, due to the exception of transshipment from demand in this study, transshipment demand is needed to be considered to estimate of economic value of port business market in Korea in the future. Also, economic value of port business including subsidiary businesses will be estimated in order to strengthen the method for estimating economic benefit of port construction.
This study analyzes how workers become impoverished and have their jobs less stabilized after they suffer from non-job-related sickness. Given that South Korea lacks sickness benefits, which most of OECD member states legislate and implement except US and Switzerland, this study examines its impact on laborers' job stability and povertization in Korea. The researchers have conducted in-depth interviews with nine former or present laborers who have the experiences and four experts on the issue in July-September, 2017 for the qualitative analysis. It is found that laborers, after becoming aware of their sickness, at first endure their pain without informing their employers not to lose their jobs. The attititude is observed especially among non-standard laborers, because sickness more often leads to job loss for them than for standard laborers. After workers have to leave their jobs due to their sickness in the end, they have no choice but to keep working in less stable jobs to compensate for income losses. They become gradually impoverished with their social capital like family bond declining. We observe laborers who are eligible for industrial accident insurance compensation could not benefit from the system because some employers refrain from the legal reporting duty. Due to this illegal practices, some industrial accident victims unduly lose their jobs due to "non-job-related sickness". Second, some employers report to the authority that their sick laborers have left their jobs 'voluntarily' even when they have quitted it without their volition, in which case the newly unemployed are not eligible for unemployment benefits. Large holes in Korea's safety nets for those suffering from multiple risks of sickness and unemployment.
