글로벌 비즈니스 환경에 있어서 경쟁력을 유지 혹은 강화시키기 위한 방법으로 많은 기업들이 경영혁신 활동에 주력하고 있다. 식스 시그마는 이러한 활동을 가능케 하는 핵심적인 방법론이자 도구로써 주목 받고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 식스 시그마의 도입에 따른 성과요인을 분석하여 보다 체계적인 프레임워크를 제시함으로써 그 성공 가능성을 관리할 수 있도록 하는 것이 주요한 목적이라 하겠다. 이를 위해 전문가 집단을 대상으로 한 델파이 조사방법과 이를 분석하기 위한 도구로써 계층적 분석기법(AHP)을 적용하였다. 분석결과, 총 12개의 요인들이 도출되었으며 중요도에 따라 가중치를 계산하여 이를 실제 식스 시그마 프로젝트에 적용하여 연구에 제시된 프레임워크를 검증토록 하였다. 본 연구는 다양한 산업 및 기업에서 식스 시그마 방법론의 적용이 급속히 확대되어 가는 추세에서 프로젝트의 성패를 가늠짓게 하는 중요 요인들을 보다 객관적인 프레임워크로 제시되었다는 점에서 그 의의가 있을 것이다.

Six Sigma keeps its continuous change in terms of its strategies and methodologies for 20 years since it is introduced in the industry Developing innovative business management strategies creating a higher synergy effect has been Pursued by combining Six Sigma and different business strategies. In fact, various research studies have been performed for grafting lean production theory with Six Sigma concept. Specifically, the companies which obtained positive results from the applications of Six Sigma are trying to adopt Lean Six Sigma theory for their business strategies. However, the research studies or the applications of Lean Six Sigma are insufficient in the construction industry compared to the other industries such as manufacturing. In order to deal effectively with this issue, this research study suggests the improved and restructured Six Sigma DMAIC processes by embodying the existing Six Sigma DMAIC processes applied on construction projects and improving them through the improvement territories of Lean Six Sigma studied in advance.

식스 시그마 경영은 제조분야에서 높은 수준의 품질과 정밀성을 달성한 것처럼 서비스 부문에도 적용할 수 있는 강력한 도구이다. 그동안 한국기업의 문제점인 고객 불만족, 고비용 저효율, 진정한 혁신성과를 거두지 못한 구조적인 문제점을 해결할 수 있는 방안이 '식스시그마 경영'이라고 할 수 있다. 식스 시그마 경영은 시행성과를 나타내는 프로세스의 모든 요소를 시그마수준으로 변환하여 현재의 경영상태 분석과 향후 경영관리 지표로 삼을 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 국내 기업에 적용 가능한 식스 시그마 모형을 제시하고 성과에 대한 측정지표를 설정하며, 경로분석적인 접근방법으로 개념간의 유의한 경로를 탐색하는데 있다.

Six sigma methodology is the management tools not only can cause productivity enhancement through the quality control and cost reduction of products and services but also can be applied to various activities of corporates such as research and development. Development of high-density information storage media and devices is indispensible to accomplish the information convergence era. In this paper, we report the case of applying six sigma methodology and tools to the development project of high-density information storage media. The standard DMAIC process was applied to the project and pursuing goals and tools and results in each stage were explained in detail. By adopting the methodology, we could establish fabrication methods of information storage media of recording density higher than $250Gb/in^2$ with high uniformity and reproducibility. The magnetic property and performance of fabricated media were confirmed through measurement of the magnetic hysteresis curve.

The development process of Embedded Software (SW) is gathering interest due to the increased importance of SW in mobile products. According to tough competition and the growing size of the Embedded SW, there is a demand for a new effective way to improve the SW development process, based on customer and market quality aspects, rather than focusing on defect removals in individual SW modules. We review 103 SW improvement projects from the area of mobile phones in order to check the effectiveness of Six Sigma which is the standard for the process improvement statistical tools and methods.

소프트웨어 프로세스 개선에 대한 원리와 방법은 CMM/CMMI 와 같은 프로세스 모델의 등장으로 인식하였으나 개인과 팀 차원에서 이를 구체적으로 구현하기 위한 운영적 차원의 절차와 수단의 부족으로 실제현상에 적용하여 성과를 창출하기에는 어려움을 겪어왔다. 이러한 문제를 해결하고 개발자와 개발팀의 차원에서 CMM/CMMI 의 목표와 프랙티스를 구현하기 위해 SEI(Software Engineering Institute)에 의해 PSP/TSP 가 개발되었다. 그러나 RSP 가 팀 차원에서 스프트웨어 개발에 사용할 수 있는 구체적인 기법들을 기술하고 있더라고 RSP 에서 수집되는 메트릭에 대한 분석기법은 여전히 부족하다. 따라서 TSP 수행시 발생할 수 있는 문제를 방지하고 프로세스가 변경되고 유지 관리될 수 있도록 하기 위해서는 식스시그마의 다양한 통계 기법과 의사 결정도구의 사용이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 TSP 의 각 스크립트에 식스시그마의 통계 기법과 의사 결정도구를 포함 시킴으로써 TSP를 확장한 식스시그마-TSP 통합 프레임워크와 활용 가이드라인을 제시함으로써 팀 차원에서의 프로세스 개선의 수행을 지원하며 팀 차원에서 발생할 수 있는 이슈를 식스시그마의 분석, 정량화 도구를 사용하여 해결하고 아울러 팀 성과를 향상할 수 있는 방법을 모색해본다.

본 연구는 모터 제조회사에서 모터 수명 향상을 위해 식스 시그마 방법론에 근거하여 개선한 사례연구이다. 모터 수명 향상 활동을 추진하기 위해 본 연구에서는 제조부문의 식스 시그마 프로젝트 추진절차인 Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control 절차를 수행했다. 모터 수명과 연관된 불량 유형을 정의하고 불량 측정 시스템에 대한 계측시스템의 정도평가, 불량유형요인효과분석, 4Step Diagram과 같은 분석기법을 활용하여 수명에 중요한 요인도출, 중요 요인의 개선대책 수립 및 개선 확인 후 최종적으로 지속적인 신뢰성 관리 방안을 수립하였다. 본 연구는 대부분 영세한 모터 제조업체에서 모터수명 관리를 위해 많은 투자를 할 수 없는 현황을 고려할 때 신뢰성 관리의 효율적 방안을 제시한다.

Military Barracks and Bachelor Officer's Quarters are public buildings representing architectural characteristics with repeating the same room modules. These buildings require easy dismantling and reusing for the next generation' military re-organization. For these reasons, since 2005, the modular construction has been applied to military buildings. The most important factors required for modular military buildings are standardization, lowcost construction and reusable construction method. However, conventional modular building system have not been matched with these requirements. This study suggests a new modular system for Bachelor Officer's Quarters using Six-sigma design tool. To reflect the voices of customers, market study and surveys were carried out. Through the QFD, the voices of customers were converted into quality characteristics of building system for BOQ. The various design concepts meeting customer's requirement were derived by the QFD and Pugh matrix methodology. The proposed modular building system shows 80% increased factory production rate and 62% decreased weight of steel frame as compared with the conventional modular building system.

GUI는 매우 감성적인 분야로서 객관적인 평가 및 정량화가 어려웠다. 이러한 어려움으로 인해 GUI에 대한 성과 측정이 이루어지지 못함으로써 각 기업에서 GUI및 GUI 개발이 제대로 된 평가를 받지 못하는 상황이 많이 발생하였다. 본 사례에서는 상품과 서비스의 품질 관리를 위한 6시그마 의 통계적 기법을 GUI일관성 평가에 도입하여 GUI의 비일관적인 요소를 불량률로 산출함으로써 GUI의 수준을 측정하고 정량화하는 방안에 대해 모색해 보았다.

신뢰성 기술은 제품이 고장 없이 일정기간 사용할 수 있게 하는 기술로 시장점유율과 고객만족을 높이는 효과적이고 전략적인 필수 요소이다. 검사시점의 적합성에 대한 평가가 아닌 제품 및 시스템의 설계에서부터 폐기까지의 제품수명주기에 대한 신뢰성 평가를 다루는 제품의 신뢰성인증과 신뢰성경영시스템 인증 확보가 시급한 과제이다. 이를 위한 제품 수명의 평균과 분산을 효과적으로 관리할 수 있는 신뢰성 식스시그마 기술개발과 확보가 중요 현안과제이다. 정규분포를 가정한 대부분의 품질경영시스템에서의 식스시그마 접근법은 비정규 분포를 따르는 신뢰성특성과 실험계획기법 등을 고려해야 하는 신뢰성 식스시그마에서의 적용의 한계가 많다. 본 연구에서는 품질혁신 방법론인 식스시그마 기법을 토대로 신뢰성경영시스템에서 맞는 식스시그마 구축의 방향성을 제시하고자 한다.
