Purpose: To determine the minimal illumination for visual acuity with the decimal vision chart and individual difference with varying contrast and illumination. Methods: Landolt's vision chart with 10 different grade of contrast was made. Minimal illumination was measured for 69 eyes using 100% contrast vision chart. Minimal contrast for identifying the chart was measured in conditions of the minimal illumination and 230 lx, respectively. Results: Minimal illumination was gradually increased with decrease of the chart size. Mean of minimal illumination to identify the 1.0 visual acuity was $74.39{\pm}25.90$ lx with range of 17~107 lx. In conditions of the minimal illumination and 230 lx, the minimal contrast for identifying the chart were gradually increased with decrease of the chart size in both conditions, the those deviation for 69 eyes was also increased. Conclusions: For refractive correction, examiners need to consider the individual difference for identifying the visual chart according to illumination and contrast.

The visual discrimination ability of Vespertilio superans was investigated with a male and a female. In a controlled experimental situation (two-choice apparatus), using a vertical bar and a circle of the same area of the bar, it was established that discrimination between different shapes of the same size was impossible. However, with patterns in which the surface areas substantially differed, the bats were able to discriminate between them to a statistically significant degree. Continuing with experiments in which the lightness of the 2 paritems was varied, the disrimination was possible with all but the slightest differences in lightness (a difference of lightness value 2).

In order to prepare against the unpredictable provocation of nK on NWI, instead of the threat based force enhancement, sufficient capability based force planning is required in consideration to enemy capability, operations environment, and technological development. This thesis proposes a method on how to prioritize the required capabilities of NWI during the process of identifying capabilities and investing on the decided acquisition assets. Ambiguity in deciding the priority is eliminated and detailed planning is possible through instituting relationship of organization, operation and capability, and by designating weight based on the above relationship. This method identify the various operations and required capabilities, classify the order of priority clearly for NWI, when compare to other method of priority decision. Although capability based force planning requires more assets and faces limitations due to budget, this method will provide and efficient decision making procedure through precise prioritization.

Recently, the ability of earthquake detection in the Kyungsang Basin of southeastern Korean Peninsula is greatly improved since seismic stations including seismic network of KIGAM(Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources) have been significantly increased. However, a large number of signals from explosions are recorded because of frequent medium to large chemical explosions. The discrimination between natural earthquakes and explosions in the Basin has become an important issue. High frequency local records from 43 earthquakes and 43 explosions with comparable magnitude are selected to establish a reliable discrimination technique in the Basin. Several discrimination techniques in spectral domain using spectral amplitude ratios among Pg, Sg, and Lg waves are widely examined with tile selected data. Among them the Pg/Lg spectral ratio method is appeared to be a good discrimination technique to improve the discrimination power. Multivariate discriminant analysis is also applied to the Pg/Lg spectral ratios. The discrimination power of the Pg/Lg ratios for distance corrected three component record compared to uncorrected vertical component one shows distinct improvement. In the frequency band 4 to 14 Hz, Pg/Lg spectral ratio for distance corrected three component record provides discrimination power with a total misclassification probability of only 0.89%.

국제해사기구의 MSC 98차 회의에서 새로운 도출 의제로 MASS(Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships)가 포함됨에 따라 선박 자동화와 무인화는 해상분야의 국제적인 이슈로 떠올랐다. 유럽의 선급과 연구소 및 제조사 등은 선박자동화의 수준을 다양하게 정의하고 있으나 기술요소와 시스템을 기반으로 하고 있어 선원의 역할과 교육분야에 대한 고려는 반영되어 있지 않다. 본 연구의 목적은 자동화 수준에 따라 항해사 또는 육상관리자에게 요구되는 해기능력을 식별하여 각 면허에 대한 적용안과 교육 및 양성에 필요한 기초연구 자료를 제시하고자 한다. 선박 자동화 수준에 대한 다양한 정의를 조사하고, 현재 항해사 및 선장 에게 요구되는 STCW 해기능력을 항목화 하였다. 선박의 자동화와 원격운항의 적용에 따라 제외되거나 추가적으로 요구되는 해기능력을 식별하고 자동화 수준별로 분류하였다. 제시된 해기능력과 면허의 구분에 대한 안을 기반으로 업계와 해기교육기관 전문가들의 검토를 통해 선박자동화와 인적요소에 대한 자동화 수준의 명확한 정의가 필요할 것이다.

야간작업은 가능하면 피해야 하지만 공사기간의 제한이나 공정상의 이유로 인하여 불가피하게 진행되는 경우가 있다. 또한, 주간에서와 같이 눈으로 보면서 식별하고 위험을 인지할 수 있는 신체적 능력이 저하될 뿐만 아니라 조명등의 주변여건이 식별을 불가능하게 하거나 불확실한 시각으로 부정확한 식별이 이어지는 잠재위험이 상존해 있다고 볼 수 있다.(중략)

장바구니 데이터들로 구성된 다중데이터베이스를 마이닝 하기 위한 선처리 작업으로는 Ideal&Goodness 기법이 있으며, Ideal&Goodness기법은 유사한 항목이 존재하는 데이터베이스간의 식별이 불가능하다는 단점이 있다. 그러므로 본 논문에서 제안하는 기법은 항목으로만 구성된 집합을 생성하여 데이터베이스간의 거리를 측정하고 항목집합간의 식별능력을 향상시키기 위하여 항목과 지지도를 갖는 항목 데이터 집합을 생성하고 지지도에 대한 확률을 계산한 후, 이를 비교 연산하여 가중치를 계산한다. 본 논문에서는 장바구니 분석을 위한 선처리 단계로써 활용 가능한 클러스터링 기법을 제안하며 성능평가를 통하여 데이터베이스간의 우수한 식별 능력을 보인다.

한국해기사의 취약점으로 영어구사능력에 대한 지적이 끊임없이 제기되고 있다. 선상에서의 원활한 의사소통을 위해서는 해기사의 영어구사 능력을 향상시킬 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 해기사의 선상 의사소통능력 향상을 위하여 현재 시행되고 있는 해사영어 시험제도을 분석하였고, 이를 통하여 현 제도의 문제점을 식별하고 이를 해결할 수 있는 방안을 제안하였다. 식별된 문제점으로는 불충분한 면접시간, 세부지침의 부재, 지나친 전문지식 위주의 질문, 교육기관의 해사영어 커리큘럼과 선사의 요구사항의 불일치 등이며, 개선방향으로는 전문시험위원제도(가칭) 도입, 해사영어 교육콘텐츠 개발, 충분한 면접시간 확보 등이다.

이 연구의 목적은 초등학교 어린이들을 대상으로 의사소통 능력 중심의 영어교육을 하기 위하여 그 기초가 되는 영어발음지도와 관련된 문제점들을 살펴보고 아울러 그 해결방안을 모색하는 것이라. 먼저 초등학교 어린이를 위한 영어교육의 특성과 제문제를 살펴보고, 보라 효과적인 발음지도를 위해 구체적인 발음지도 목표와 그 목표에 맞는 발음지도 법을 알아보았다. 발음지도 목표로는 우선, 영어를 모국어로 하는 사람들이 알아듣고 이해할 수 있는 정도의 발음을 갖추도록 하며, 이를 위해 (1)영어자, 모음 식별 청취 및 발음, (2)올바른 강세와 억양 식별 및 구사, (3)연음 및 기타 주요 발음 현상 식별 및 구사 등을 지도하되, (1)보다 (2)와 (3)을 보다 집중적으로 지도할 것을 제시하였다. 아울러 이들 각각의 내용을 보다 효과적으로 지도하기 위하여 의사소통 능력을 중심으로 한 여러 가지 지도 법 및 어린이들을 위한 학습활동들을 소개하였다. 끝으로 자질을 고루 갖춘 초등학교 영어교사 양성이야말로 성공적인 영어교육의 제일조건임을 강조하고 보다 실제적인 교사교육 프로그램에 포함되어야 할 사항을 제시하였다.
