Development of Audio-visual Aids of Death Education for Hospice Patients and Their Families (호스피스 환자와 가족을 위한 임종교육 시청각 자료 개발)

  • Purpose: Patients and their caretakers need to understand various problems and requirements in the dying process so that they may prepare for death for the rest of their remaining life. Accordingly, a systematic audio-visual resource was developed to educate hospice patients and their families at the palliative care ward about the process of dying. Methods: For the development of an audio-visual resource, a initial education material was produced in the form of simple and accessible Power Point handouts based on literature study. Then, the program was completed through five rounds of a process, including expert advice, revision, update and evaluation. Results: The final version of the program was filmed with cooperation of the medical literature information division. Using the program, patients and families were educated through five phases over three sessions for a total 26 minutes and 34 seconds. Conclusion: The significance of this study lies in the fact that it was conducted after the establishment of the palliative care ward, which made it easier for nurses provide the education. It is expected that the program may be used by hospice specialists as well as nurses as an education resource for hospice patients and their families.

Satisfaction and Perception of Nutrition Education by Elementary School Students (초등학생의 영양교육에 대한 만족과 인식 조사)

  • The study was conducted to investigate the perception and satisfaction of nutrition education by elementary school students. Questionnaires were distributed to a total of 327 students at three elementary schools in the Ulsan area in July 2010. Fifty-two percent of the respondents were satisfied with the teaching tools/audio-visual materials for nutrition education. Compared with other lectures, 46.5% of the students responded that nutrition education was more interesting. Average scores for necessity of nutrition education was 4.02/5.00, and willingness to participate in re-education lecture was 3.80/5.00. Seventy-seven percent of students answered that they would encourage friends to participate in nutrition education. Average scores for necessity of nutrition education and willingness to participate in re-education lecture were significantly (p<0.01) higher in the student group that was satisfied with the teaching tools/audio-visual materials and lectures. Students who were satisfied with the tools/audio-visual materials and those interested in nutrition education had significantly (p<0.01) higher average scores for improved dietary habits from nutrition education contents compared to other students.

  • 본 논문에서는 고등학교 수학교과 7차 교육과정중 미분 단원의 교수 학습을 위한 프로그램을 Visual Basic 프로그램으로 설계한 과정과 그 기능을 기술하였다. 함수의 미분을 위한 초기의 좌표와 미분할 점의 좌표, 실행회수 등의 데이터를 입력 ${\cdot}$ 실행하여 그 결과(접근과정)를 화면에 도표와 그래프로 나타나게 하였고 미분단원의 ‘학습내용’과 ‘사용설명’의 기능을 추가하였다. 보조계산이나 함수의 입력을 위해 “함수값 계산”, “극한값 계산”, “함수입력판” 등의 창(폼)을 설치하였다. 이 프로그램은 일선 학교 교육 현장에서 수학 교수-학습을 위한 효율적인 시청각 자료로 활용 될 수 있을 것이다.

The Effects of 3-D Computer Animation on Educational Visual Presentation -Focused on Color Theory Study- (3D 컴퓨터 애니메이션을 이용한 시청각 교재가 어린이의 학습에 미치는 효과에 대한 연구 -색채이론학습을 중심으로-)

  • Advances in computer technology have made it possible for educators to design and develop their own multimedia instructional materials using visuals such as animation. Although, it generally believed that the Mew attribute of computer animation facilitates student's foaming, there is still relatively little research regarding the way in which student benefit from multimedia instruction using 3-D animation. The purpose of this research was to examine and determine whether the use of 3-D computer generated images is an effective teaching device for hoping children to understand color theory, and enhancing the tractional methods. In this study, a 3-D computer generated presentation was creative and it demonstrated the mixing of primary color to obtain secondary color. Three research hypotheses were developed in this research. The first hypothesis stated that 3-D computer generated presentation will be an effective device for teaching color theory. The second was that the presentation will be eye-catching and it will hold the children's attention. The third was presentation would enhance the children's memory of color. Results of this study show that visualization technology and the use of 3-D graphics ends can be employed in the field of art education to increases a chi1d's understanding of color theory. Also, it was proved that teaching children through 3-D graphic is an highly effective teaching tool. Thus this research is a oontribution to both children's au education and the relatively new field of computer animation.

The impact of the transient information effect on multimedia learning efficiency (멀티미디어 학습에서 일시적 정보효과가 학습효율성에 미치는 영향)

  • The transient information effect occurs when long and complex transient information disappear before the learner has time to adequately process it or link it with new information. This study aimed to explore the impact of the transient information effect on multimedia learning efficiency within the cognitive load perspective and how segmentation and pacing of instructional materials interact with the transient information effect. The results revealed that the visualonly instruction(a diagram with long and complex texts) was more efficient than the audiovisual instruction(a diagram with long and complex spoken texts). The overall results suggested that using long and complex spoken texts with a diagram can have a negative impact on learning unless the transient information effect are reduced through segmentation and learner-paced instructions.

  • 최근 디지털 맵이나 GIS와 같은 새로운 테크놀로지의 발달로 사회과 지리영역은 많은 변화가 요구되고 있다. 특히 교육방법적 측면에서 학생들의 흥미를 북돋워줄 수 있는 교수학습 방법의 개발과 적용이 필요하다. 그러나 기존의 시청각매체는 학생들의 흥미를 만족시켜주는데 한계가 있을 뿐만 아니라 최신의 자료가 반영되지 못한 경우가 많다. 요즘에는 인터넷의 발달로 지구상에서 일어나는 일을 쉽고 빠르게 찾아볼 수 있으며 구글 어스 등의 새로운 GIS를 활용하여 세계의 모습을 정확하고 손쉽게 볼 수 있다. 그러나 아직까지 교육과정에서 GIS를 활용하는 것에 관한 연구는 부족한 편이다. 이에 교육과정에서 활용할 수 있는 디지털 맵과 GIS를 조사하고, 이를 수업현장에서 활용할 수 있는 수업모형을 제안하고자 한다.

Effects of Career Education and Psychological Counseling Satisfaction on Career Self-Efficacy of High School Students (고등학생의 '진로와 직업' 교육과 '진로심리검사' 교육의 만족도가 진로결정 자기효능감에 미치는 영향)

  • Purposes: The purpose of this study was to investigate the satisfaction of each activity in the high school students (568 students) after school career education (Career and vocation, Curriculum-related career education, Special lecture related to career, Entrance exam session, Career psychology test, Internet lecture), and then to analyze the career decision-making self-efficacy of the items Goal selection, Job information, Problem solving and Future plan by high, middle, and low group. Methods: Questionnaires administered to subjects after career education counseling education. Results: Career decision - making self - efficacy was significantly higher in the high group than in the middle and low groups in the goal selection, job information, problem-solving and future planning by the educational satisfaction on career and vocation, curriculum-related lectures, entrance examination session (p<.001). The level of satisfaction of special career lectures was in the order of low group> high group> middle group in career decision self - efficacy, and the values of high and low groups were significantly higher than those of the middle group. The effect of satisfaction on career decision self - efficiency in Career psychological examination education was in the order of top> middle> low groups in goal choice and job information, and the high group values were significantly higher than the middle and low groups. In the problem solving and future planning, there was a difference between high, middle, and low group values, but there was no significant difference. The effect of the satisfaction of the internet course on the career decision self - efficacy was not significant, but there was a difference between the high, middle, and low groups. Satisfaction with the internet course was low and did not affect the decision - making self - efficacy significantly. Conclusion: The higher the satisfaction of career education, the higher self - determination efficacy of goal selection, job information, problem solving and future plan. This study suggests the direction of career education.

A Study on Shot Segmentation and Indexing of Language Education Videos by Content-based Visual Feature Analysis (교육용 어학 영상의 내용 기반 특징 분석에 의한 샷 구분 및 색인에 대한 연구)

  • As IT technology develops rapidly and the personal dissemination of smart devices increases, video material is especially used as a medium of information transmission among audiovisual materials. Video as an information service content has become an indispensable element, and it has been used in various ways such as unidirectional delivery through TV, interactive service through the Internet, and audiovisual library borrowing. Especially, in the Internet environment, the information provider tries to reduce the effort and cost for the processing of the provided information in view of the video service through the smart device. In addition, users want to utilize only the desired parts because of the burden on excessive network usage, time and space constraints. Therefore, it is necessary to enhance the usability of the video by automatically classifying, summarizing, and indexing similar parts of the contents. In this paper, we propose a method of automatically segmenting the shots that make up videos by analyzing the contents and characteristics of language education videos and indexing the detailed contents information of the linguistic videos by combining visual features. The accuracy of the semantic based shot segmentation is high, and it can be effectively applied to the summary service of language education videos.
