  • Solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC) attracts much attention because of its high energy efficiency among many water-electrolysis technologies. SOEC operates at temperatures above 700℃, so that the water required for water-electrolysis must be supplied in the form of steam. When the steam to be supplied to the SOEC is generated by the SOEC system itself, an enormous amount of latent heat is required to vaporize the water, so additional energy must be supplied to the SOEC system. On the other hand, if the steam can be supplied from the outside, a small amount of energy is required to raise the temperature of the low temperature steam, so that the SOEC system can be operated without additional energy supply from outside, which enables efficient water-electrolysis. In this study, we figure out the size of heat exchanger for various steam temperature and effectiveness of heat exchanger, and propose the energy efficiency of the system.

  • 최근 편리성과 경제성 등의 이유로 개인형 이동장치인 전동 킥보드의 사용이 증가하고 있다. 사용자들은 앱으로 주변의 전동 킥보드 위치를 확인한 뒤, 가까운 기기를 찾아 이용한다. 하지만 전동 킥보드의 위치는 GPS로 표시되기 때문에 10 m 이상의 오차가 날 수 있다. 이를 보완하기 위해 (주)올룰로의 킥고잉은 사용자가 전동 킥보드 반납 시 촬영한 전동 킥보드 사진을 GPS 위치 정보와 함께 제공한다. 이 사진을 통해 다음 사용자는 더욱 정확히 전동 킥보드를 찾을 수 있다. 하지만 일부 사용자들은 전동 킥보드가 존재하지 않는 사진을 올리기도 하며, 따라서 사용자들이 촬영한 사진 중 실제 전동 킥보드가 존재하는 사진들만 제공하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 따라서 본 논문은 사용자들이 촬영한 사진 중 실제 전동 킥보드가 존재하는 사진들만 정확히 인식하는 YOLO 기반 시스템을 개발한다. 제안 방법은 (1) 전동 킥보드를 부분별로 탐지하는 기법과 (2) 전동 킥보드를 촬영된 각도에 따라 세분화하여 인식하는 기법을 사용한다. 실제 사용자들이 촬영한 사진을 사용한 실험 결과, 제안 방법은 기존 방법에 비해 더욱 정확히 전동 킥보드 사진을 인식하는 것을 확인하였다.

Eliminating Color Mixing of Projector-Camera System for Fast Radiometric Compensation (컬러 보정의 고속화를 위한 프로젝터-카메라 시스템의 컬러 혼합 성분 제거)

  • The quality of projector output image is influenced by the surrounding conditions such as the shape and color of screen, and environmental light. Therefore, techniques that ensure desirable image quality, regardless of such surrounding conditions, have been in demand and are being steadily developed. Among the techniques, radiometric compensation is a representative one. In general, radiometric compensation is achieved by measuring the color of the screen and environmental light based on an analysis of camera image of projector output image and then adjusting the color of projector input image in a pixel-wise manner. This process is not time-consuming for small sizes of images but the speed of the process drops linearly with respect to image size. In large sizes of images, therefore, reducing the time required for performing the process becomes a critical problem. Therefore, this paper proposes a fast radiometric compensation method. The method uses color filters for eliminating the color mixing between projector and camera because the speed of radiometric compensation depends mainly on measuring color mixing between projector and camera. By using color filters, there is no need to measure the color mixing. Through experiments, the proposed method improved the compensation speed by 44 percent while maintaining the projector output image quality. This method is expected to be a key technique for widespread use of projectors for large-scale and high-quality display.

  • 일반적인 로봇시스템은 자신이 이동해야 할 목표 지점을 자율적으로 생성할 수 없으므로 어떤 다른 시스템의 정보를 이용하여 주변을 탐색하거나 장애물을 인식하고 식별하여 자신의 제어전략을 수립한다. 그러므로 본 논문에서 제시한 시스템은 초소형 비행체를 이용하여 주위 환경과 자율 이동로봇의 위치 정보를 탐색할 수 있도록 시스템을 구성하였다 이러한 시스템의 성능은 로봇이 위치하고 있는 주위의 불완전한 정보로부터 적절한 결론을 유도해 낼 수 있어야 한다. 그러한 비선형적인 문제는 현재까지도 문제 해결을 위해 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 자율이동로봇의 행동 환경을 공간상의 제약을 받지 않는 비선형 시스템인 초소형 비행체에 극초단파(UHF16채널) 영상장치를 이용하여 호스트 PC로 전송하고 호스트 PC는 로봇의 현재 위치, 이동해야 할 목표위치, 장애물의 위치와 형태 등을 분석한다. 분석된 결과 파라메타는 RF-Module을 이용해서 로봇에 전송하고, 로봇은 그 데이터를 분석하여 동작하게 된다. 로봇이 오동작 또는 장애물로 인해 정확한 목적지까지 도달하지 못할 때 호스트 PC는 새로운 최단경로를 생성하거나 장애물을 회피 할 새로운 전략을 로봇에게 보내준다. 본 연구에 적용한 알고리즘은 초소형 비행체에서 탐지한 불완전한 영상정보에서도 비교적 신뢰도 놀은 결과를 보이는 A* 알고리즘을 사용하였다 적용한 알고리즘은 실험을 통하여 실시간으로 정보를 처리할 수 있었으며, 자율 이동로봇의 충돌회피나 최단 경로 생성과 같은 문제를 실험을 통하여 그 성능과 타당성을 검토하였다.delta}textitH]$를 도출하였다.rc}C$에서 30 ㎫의 압력으로 1시간동안 행하였다 소결한 시편들은 직사각형 형태로 가공하였으며 표면은 0.5$\mu\textrm{m}$의 다이아몬드 입자로 연마하였다.   • As the scope of use of portable and wearable electronic devices is expanding, the limitations of heavy and bulky solid-state batteries are being revealed. Given that, it is urgent to develop a small energy harvesting device that can partially share the role of a battery and the utilization of energy sources that are thrown away in daily life is becoming more important. Contact electrification, which generates electricity based on the coupling of the triboelectric effect and electrical induction when the two material surfaces are in contact and separated, can effectively harvest the physical and mechanical energy sources existing in the surrounding environment without going through a complicated intermediate process. Recently, the interest in the harvest and utilization of wind energy is growing since the wind is an infinitely ecofriendly energy source among the various environmental energy sources that exist in human surroundings. In this study, the optimization of the energy harvesting device for the effective harvest of wind energy based on the contact electrification was analyzed and then, the utilization strategy to maximize the utilization of the generated electricity was investigated. Natural wind based Fluttering TENG (NF-TENG) using fluttering film was developed, and design optimization was conducted. Moreover, the safe high voltage generation system was developed and a plan for application in the field requiring high voltage was proposed by highlighting the unique characteristics of TENG that generates low current and high voltage. In this respect, the result of this study demonstrates that a portable energy harvesting device based on the contact electrification shows great potential as a strategy to harvest wind energy thrown away in daily life and use it widely in fields requiring high voltage.

  • These days, the coaxial rotor system is used for various purposes like UAVs, Mars exploration helicopters, and the next-generation high-speed rotorcraft. A number of research projects on aerodynamic performance of rotor systems, including the coaxial configuration have been made previously. On the contrary, research on rotor blade deformation has been mainly carried out regarding the single rotor system, where such effort has not been enough on the coaxial system. Nonetheless, in case of the coaxial system, blade deformation analysis is much more important because of the complex air flow around the rotors, and that the distance between the two rotors is a key factor affects aerodynamic performance of the entire system. For these reasons, an experimental study on rotor blade deformation of the coaxial system was conducted using the Stereo Pattern Recognition(SPR) technique, one of the state-of-the-art of photogrammetry method. In this research, a small-scale coaxial rotor test stand designed by Korea Aerospace Research Institute(KARI) was used. With the same test stand, performance of the coaxial configuration had been studied before the experimental study on blade deformation, in order to find the relation between performance and blade deformation of the rotor system. Results of the performance test and the deformation study are presented in this article.

A Preliminary Study on Measuring Void Fraction in a Fuel Rod Assembly by using an X-ray Imaging System (X선 영상 장치를 이용한 핵연료 집합체 내 기포율 측정을 위한 선행 연구)

  • Bubbles are generated by the boiling of the cooling water when an accident occurs in the reactor and then in order to measure the void fraction, the Optical Fiber Probe(OFP) and optical camera are used in thermal hydraulic safety research. However, such an optical method is not suitable for measuring the void fraction in a $17{\times}17$ array of fuel rods due to the geometrical limitations. This study was conducted as a preliminary study using x-ray system and various phantoms before applying to rod bundles. Through radiographic and tomographic experiments, the tube voltage of the x-ray generator was 130 kVp and the tube current was 1 mA. In addition, it is possible to measure the hole of 1mm in size visually through the bubble resolution phantom, and it is confirmed that the contrast is relatively decreased in the inside of the freon in the case of the contrast evaluation using the road phantom. However, we could obtain good image without distortion when reconstructing the image. Bubble generation phantom experiments were used to confirm the flow direction of the bubbles and to acquire tomography images. The image J tool was used to measure the void fraction of 18 % for a single tomography image. This study has carried out previous researches for the measurement of the bubble rate around the nuclear fuel and could be used as a basic research for continuous research.

  • A rapid development of semiconductors, sensors and mobile network technologies has enable that the embedded device includes high sensitivity sensors, wireless communication modules and a video processing module for vehicular environment, and many researchers have been actively studying the smart car technology combined on the high performance embedded devices. The vehicle is increased as the development of society, and the risk of accidents is increasing gradually. Thus, the advanced driver assistance system providing the vehicular status and the surrounding environment of the vehicle to the driver using various sensor data is actively studied. In this paper, we design and implement the smart vehicular camera device providing the V2X communication and gathering environment information. And we studied the method to create the metadata from a received video data and sensor data using video analysis algorithm. In addition, we invent S-ROI, D-ROI methods that set a region of interest in a video frame to improve calculation performance. We performed the performance evaluation for two ROI methods. As the result, we confirmed the video processing speed that S-ROI is 3.0 times and D-ROI is 4.8 times better than a full frame analysis.

Analysis of dose reduction of surrounding patients in Portable X-ray (Portable X-ray 검사 시 주변 환자 피폭선량 감소 방안 연구)

  • Nowadays, the medical system towards patients changes into the medical services. As the human rights are improved and the capitalism is enlarged, the rights and needs of patients are gradually increasing. Also, based on this change, several systems in hospitals are revised according to the convenience and needs of patients. Thus, the cases of mobile portable among examinations are getting augmented. Because the number of mobile portable examinations in patient's room, intensive care unit, operating room and recovery room increases, neighboring patients are unnecessarily exposed to radiation so that the examination is legally regulated. Hospitals have to specify that "In case that the examination is taken out of the operating room, emergency room or intensive care units, the portable medical X-ray protective blocks should be set" in accordance with the standards of radiation protective facility in diagnostic radiological system. Some keep this regulation well, but mostly they do not keep. In this study, we shielded around the Collimator where the radiation is detected and then checked the change of dose regarding that of angles in portable tube and collimator before and after shielding. Moreover, we tried to figure out the effects of shielding on dose according to the distance change between patients' beds. As a result, the neighboring areas around the collimator are affected by the shielding. After shielding, the radiation is blocked 20% more than doing nothing. When doing the portable examination, the exposure doses are increased $0^{\circ}C$, $90^{\circ}C$ and $45^{\circ}C$ in order. At the time when the angle is set, the change of doses around the collimator decline after shielding. In addition, the exposure doses related to the distance of beds are less at 1m than 0.5m. In consideration of the shielding effects, putting the beds as far as possible is the best way to block the radiation, which is close to 100%. Next thing is shielding the collimator and its effect is about 20%, and it is more or less 10% by controlling the angles. When taking the portable examination, it is better to keep the patients and guardians far enough away to reduce the exposure doses. However, in case that the bed is fixed and the patient cannot move, it is suggested to shield around the collimator. Furthermore, $90^{\circ}C$ of collimator and tube is recommended. If it is not possible, the examination should be taken at $0^{\circ}C$ and $45^{\circ}C$ is better to be disallowed. The radiation-related workers should be aware of above results, and apply them to themselves in practice. Also, it is recommended to carry out researches and try hard to figure out the ways of reducing the exposure doses and shielding the radiation effectively.

Efficacy of Small Bowel Displacement System in Post-Operative Pelvic Radiation Therapy of Rectal Cancer (소장 용적 측정을 통한 직장암의 수술 후 방사선치료 시 사용하는 소장 전위 장치(Small Bowel Displacement System : SBDS) 의 효용성 검토)

  • Purpose : This study is to evaluate the efficacy of small bowel displacement system(SBDS) in post-operative pelvic radiation therapy(RT) of rectal cancer patients by measurement of small bowel volume included in the radiation fields receiving therapeutic dose. Materials and Method : Ten consecutive new rectal cancer patients referred to the department of Radiation Oncology of Samsung Medical Center in May of 1997 were included in this study. All patients were asked to drink $Castrographin^(R)$ before simulation and were laid prone for conventional simulation and CT scans with and without SBDS. The volume of opacified small bowel on CT scans, which was to be included in the radiation fields receiving therapeutic dose, was measured using Picture archiving and communication system (PACS). Results : The average small bowel volumes with and without SBDS were 176.0ml(5.2-415.6ml) and 185.1ml(54.5-434.2ml), respectively The changes of small bowel volume with SBDS compared to those without SBDS were more than $10\%$ decrease in three, less than 10% decrease in two, less than $10\%$ increase in three, and more than $10\%$ increase in two patients. Conclusion : No significant advantage of using SBDS in post-operative pelvic RT for rectal cancer patients has been shown by small bowel volume measurement using CT scan considering additional effort and time needed for simulation and treatment setup.
