  • Radionuclide released from corroded container migrates through groundwater flow pathway in the underground rock. Therefore it is important to study the groundwater flow analysis for total system performance assessment of a HLW repository. In this study assuming a geological change of underground rock in future, the two dimensional groundwater flow analysis is done by the NAMMU, the assessment code for groundwater flow in porous media. Assuming the hypothetical repository with the reactivation of fault in the vicinity of it, the effect of change in aperture and permeability by reactivation of fault around a repository on groundwater pathway is studied.

  • Recently, safety-critical aviation system development programs promoted domestically have been terminated in the middle stage or they have not been put to practical use at the final stage. The program failure may be caused by various factors, but this study focused on imperfect test and evaluation(T&E) procedures. In general, T&E process of a safety-critical system must be distributed throughout the entire life-cycle of the system, have a continuity in phases, and can be implemented in a variety of ways depending on the maturity of the system development and acquisition strategy. This paper aims to present a new strategy by analyzing the domestic and overseas T&E processes to reduce the risk of domestic safety-critical CNS/ATM system development program and increase the success rate of program. First, we discuss the verification and validation techniques for safety-critical systems, analyze the T&E procedures of advanced institutes and the domestic situation, and then compare the domestic and overseas T&E processes to complement the imperfect testing procedure.

  • 본 논문에서는 여러 난수열 발생기들의 안전성 평가를 위한 새로운 통계적 검정법을 소개한다. 검정에서 구현된 기본 개념은 다음 비트 검정 이론을 바탕으로 하였으며 전체 스트링과 스트링의 일부분에 관한 확률적 통계치가 주어진다면 이를 이용하여 추측할 수 있는 다음 비트들에 관한 정보를 얻을 수 있게 된다는 점을 이용하였다. 본 검정에서는 난수 발생기의 랜덤성 평가시 입력되는 스트링 크기의 크고 작음에 관계없이 모든 임의 길이의 스트링에 적용될 수 있도록 하였으며 이는 난수 발생기를 이용한 암호 시스템의 안전성 평가에 있어서 매우 유용하게 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • 본 논문은 친환경자동차의 보급이 활성화됨에 따라 필수적으로 확보되어야할 전기안전성을 평가하기 위한 장비개발에 관한 것으로, 기존 장비의 문제점과 효율성을 개선하기 위하여 국제기준에 적합한 통합형 평가장비를 개발하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 개발된 제품을 공인 시험기관에서 성능을 검증하였으며, 검증결과 친환경자동차의 정격에 적합한 측정 장비의 사양을 갖는 것을 확인하였다.

An Improvement of the State Assessment for Concrete Floor Slab by Damage Type Breakdown (손상유형 분할에 의한 콘크리트 바닥판의 상태평가 개선)

  • The direct inspection of the outward aspects by field engineers is the important and critical part for structural safety assessment according to the related reports. This study presents an improved method of the state assessment for concrete floor slab by separating and evaluating the individual damage types. First, the various types of damage symptoms are separated, which have been included and dealt in a group. Secondly, they are weighted and scored independently based on the present guide and references. Overall procedures other than the above are retained as same as possible to avoid the confusion. The proposed method is applied and tested to a performed assessment project for a bridge for validation. The result shows that it is reasonable and applicable in respect that it is able to make up for the controversial points of the present guide revealed in practices. Careful check of excessively deteriorated parts in addition to the reasonable assessment of system by this method grants the structural repair and reinforcement propriety and economy, and assures of more safety. Twofold appraisal of this approach expands the applicable areas of value engineering to the structural maintenance.

  • This paper analyzes the side channel attacks for smartcard devices, and proposes the smartcard suity evaluation criteria for side-channel attacks. To setup the smartcard security evaluation criteria for side-channel attacks, we analyze similar security evaluation criteria for cryptographic algorithms, cryptographic modules, and smartcard protection profiles based on the common criterion. Futhermore, we propose the smartcard security evaluation criteria for side-channel attacks. It can be useful to evaluate a cryptosystem related with information security technology and in addition, it can be applied to building smartcard protection profile.

  • In systems such as railways, automobiles, and airplanes, system malfunctions may lead to accidents, which often cause serious personal injury and economic loss. In previous studies, failure analysis has been performed, and safety measures derived using the component level information to reduce damage when a failure occurs. However, in functional safety concept, a focus is placed on lowering the frequency of occurrence of failures by performing risks analysis, setting up safety goals, and designing safety functions. Therefore, it is necessary to study how to determine the required safety function that can reduce the failure frequency to the acceptable level. To achieve this, we first studied a failure modeling method using SysML. It was then presented how several alternatives can be assessed to determine the desired safety function by simulating the generated SysML failure models and calculating the ability to reduce the failure frequency. A case study of a railway signaling system was done, demonstrating the effectiveness of the approach. We assessed whether the safety objectives were met for the alternative design of the railway signaling system through M & S. The results can be useful in that it can be applied from the early design phase and allow to choose the appropriate safety function that satisfies safety objectives among various design alternatives.

  • 생체정보를 이용한 인식 기술의 사회적 요구가 빠르게 증대함에 따라 생체인식 기술에 대한 신뢰성에 대한 요구 역시 급속하게 증대되고 있다. 생체인식 기술에 대한 신뢰성은 생체인식시스템의 인식률에 대한 시험과 생체인식시스템에 대한 보안성 시험을 통해 보장될 수 있다. 보안성 시험은 크게 시스템 내부 및 외부 공격에 대한 안전성 등에 대한 일련의 항목들에 대해 시험을 한다. 이러한 보안성 시험에 대해 국외의 경우 자국기준 또는 공통평가기준에 따라 지문인식시스템을 포함한 생체인식시스템에 대한 보안성 시험을 수행되고 있으나 국내에서는 이에 대한 연구가 아직 미진한 상태이다. 본 연구에서는 제시하는 지문인식시스템의 보안성 평가 방법론은 지문인식시스템을 시험할 때 어떤 면을 고려하여 시험해야 하는지에 대한 지침을 제공하기 위한 것이라 할 수 있다.

  • 터널은 긴 선상구조물로서 사정조사결과와 다른 지질조건이 나타날 수 있으므로, 안전하고 합리적인 터널공사를 위해서는 시공중 지질조건에 적합한 지보설계를 실시하는 것이 필수적이다. 이를 위해서는 시공중 터널주변자반에 대한 정량적이고 공학적인 평가가 매우 중요하다. 그러나 시공중 암반을 평가하는 것은 매우 어렵고 조사자의 경험과 지식의 차이에 의해 평가정도가 크게 달라져 그 불합리성이 심화되고 있는 실정으로 터널주변암반에 대한 합리적인 평가방법이 절실히 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 터널화상처리, GeoCAD, 역해석으로 구성된 평기시스템을 개발하였다. 본 시스템은 터널막장에서의 조사.시험 및 화상처리기법을 통하여 암반분류.평가를 실시하고, 터널주변 지반구조 및 굴착/지보과정의 3차원 모델링을 통하여 전방지질을 예측가능하게 하며, 터널계측자료의 역해석을 통하여 터널주변 지반의 물성을 정량적으로 평가할 수 있는 체계적이고 종합적인 평가시스템이다. 또한 이를 NATM 공법으로 시공되는 터널현장에 적용하므로써 본 시스템의 현장적용성을 검증하였으며, 이를 통해 적절한 지보공을 시공하여 터널의 안정성을 확보하고 합리적인 시공관리를 달성할 수 있었다.

A Study on Simplified Analysis and Estimation Method for Evaluation of Structural Safety in Modular Underground Arch Structure (모듈러 지중아치 구조 안전성 검토를 위한 간략 해석 및 평가방법에 관한 연구)

  • A modular underground arch structure using steel and concrete has been proposed as a structure that has a simple construction process and can effectively resist cross-sectional forces generated during construction and use. Structural behavior of modular underground arch was evaluated about span length less than 15m through 3D structural analysis and test. In general, 2D and 3D structural analysis methods may be applied for structural analysis such as underground arch and tunnels. However, if a 2D or 3D structural analysis method is applied to evaluate the structural safety of a modular underground arch structure, it is difficult to model for structural analysis and it may take an excessively long time to interpret. Therefore, it may not be reasonable as a structural analysis method for considering the structural safety and earth pressure in the design process of a modular underground arch structure. In addition, when a modular underground arch structure is configured for span lengths to which the predetermined cross-section is applicable, it may be reasonable to evaluate only the safety of the structure and cross-section according to the cross-section and load conditions. Therefore, in this study, a structural analysis model using frame elements was proposed for efficient structural safety evaluation. In addition, structural analysis results of the 2D structural analysis model and the simplified analysis model using frame elements were compared, and the structural safety of the modular underground arch structure for a span length of 20m was evaluated with a simplified analysis method.
