Practical Software Architecture Design Methods for Non-Conventional Quality Requirements (비전형적인 품질 요구사항을 고려한 실용적 소프트웨어 아키텍처 설계 기법)

  • Software architecture plays a key role in satisfying non-functional requirement (NFR), i.e. quality requirements and constraints. Architecture design methods and tactics for conventional NFR are largely available in literatures. However, the methods for the target system-specific non-conventional NFRs are not readily available; rather architects should invent the design methods from their experiences and intuitions. Hence, the hardship to design architectures for non-conventional NFRs is quite high. In this paper, we provide a systematic architecture design methodology for non-conventional NFRs. We provide a five-step process, and detailed instructions for the steps. In the process, we treat the traceability among artifacts and seamlessness as essential values for supporting effective architecture design. We apply the methodology on designing architectures for a platform software system. We believe that the proposed methodology can be effectively utilized in designing high quality architectures for non-conventional NFRs.

Structural Design and Analysis for Carbon/Epoxy Composite Wing of A Small Scale WIG Vehicle (소형 위그선의 탄소/에폭시 복합재 주익의 구조 설계 및 해석에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, conceptual structural design of the main wing for a small scale WIG(Wing in Ground Effect) among high speed ship projects, which will be a high speed maritime transportation system for the next generation in Rep. of Korea, was performed. The Carbon/Epoxy material was selected for the major structure, and the skin-spar with a foam sandwich structural type was adopted for improvement of lightness and structural stability. As a design procedure for the present study, firstly the design load was estimated through the critical flight load case study, and then flanges of the front and rear spars from major bending loads and the skin and the spar webs from shear loads were preliminarily sized using the netting rule and the rule of mixture. Stress analysis was performed by a commercial FEA code, NASTRAN. From the stress analysis results for the first designed wing structure, it was confirmed that the upper skin between the front spar and the rear spar was unstable fer the buckling. Therefore in order to solve this problem, a middle spar and the foam sandwich type structure at the skin and the web were added. After design modification, the structural safety and stability for the final design feature was confirmed. In addition to this, the insert bolt type structure with eight high strength bolts to fix the wing structure to the fuselage was adopted for easy assembly and removal as well as in consideration of more than 20 years fatigue life.

  • In this paper, the SAR operational mode for achieving mission is designed. Each mode, which is the strip mode, scan mode, and fine mode, is basically considered. Based on the characteristics, which includes incidence angle, of the topography in Korean Peninsula, look angle for SAR satellite is determined. The limited region of operating the mission, which is considered to be able to receive and transmit the radar data, was defined to use determined operational mode. In the future, as considering full requirements and conditions for the SAR satellite, requirements and parameters will be discussed and studied.

  • 우리는 2016년 6월부터 세종시대 흠경각루 복원 프로젝트(사업명: 장영실 자동물시계 옥루의 전시융합콘텐츠 개발 및 활용 연구, 한국연구재단)를 진행하고 있다. 흠경각루는 세종대에 장영실이 제작한 보루각루의 제작(1434년)이후 4년여 만에 새롭게 제작(1438년)한 또 다른 자동물시계이다. 총 3년간의 연구를 통해 세종시대의 흠경각루('옥루'로도 부름)에 대한 상세 설계도면의 작성, 프로토타입(prototype) 제작, 전시융합콘텐츠와 과학교재 개발을 진행하게 된다. 현재 1차 년도 연구사업을 통해 내부구성에 따른 동력시스템에 대한 설계와 제작이 진행되었다. 물시계로부터 공급된 물이 수차를 움직이게 하고 회전 기륜을 작동시켜 각 층의 시보인형이 작동하는 동력을 발생시킨다. 가장 위층의 천륜은 혼천의를 구동시켜 태양의 일주운동 및 연주운동을 재현하여 보여주도록 했다. 향후 2차 년도의 연구를 통해 세부 시보인형에 대한 작동메커니즘을 실시설계하고, 흠경각루 외형에 해당되는 가산을 디자인하는 일들이 진행될 예정이다. 이 연구의 최종 단계에서는 흠경각루의 복원 모델을 제시하게 되며, 전시를 통한 체험 활동과 영상콘텐츠가 접목된 천문시계 전시물로 활용될 예정이다.

위성비행소프트웨어 개발문서 작성의 자동화를 위한 Doxygen 활용 방안

  • 위성비행소프트웨어는 위성의 하드웨어와 임무 탑재체 및 서브시스템이 통합되어 궤도상에서 위성임무를 수행할 수 있도록 원격명령 및 측정데이터의 처리, 자세 및 궤도제어, 열제어, 전력제어 등의 기능을 수행한다. 위성비행소프트웨어의 개발과 같이 규모가 큰 소프트웨어는 여러 개발자가 참여해야 하고 각각의 개발자들이 작성 코드를 통합하여 빌드하고 문제 발생 시 대처하기 위하여 세부적인 설계 및 개발내용을 단계별로 문서화하는 작업이 수반되어야 한다. 기존의 위성비행소프트웨어 개발과정에서는 이러한 문서들 중 전체 위성비행소프트웨어의 단위 코드별 입출력, 수행기능 등의 상세 설계 내용을 기록하는 SDD(Software Design Description)는 개발자가 작성한 코드를 기반으로 수작업을 통하여 작성되었다. 이러한 작성방식은 작성자의 입력오류가 발생할 수도 있으며 소프트웨어 개발과 별도로 수작업이 요구되어 문서작성에 소요되는 시간적 손해가 발생하게 된다. 유럽에서는 이러한 문제점을 보완하기 위하여 C, C++, C#, JAVA, VHDL 등 다양한 언어를 사용하는 소프트웨어 개발에 적용 가능한 자동적 문서작성 도구인 Doxygen이 널리 활용되고 있다. Doxygen은 PDF, HTML, Latex, RTF 등 다양한 출력 포맷도 지원한다. 본 논문에서는 Doxygen을 활용하여 위성비행소프트웨어 개발문서의 작성 시 소요시간을 단축하고 소스코드로부터 해당 설계 내용을 추출하여 자동적으로 문서를 작성할 수 있는 방안에 대하여 소개한다.

  • This paper presents a derailed application procedure of the linear quadratic(LQ) theory for a SWATH heave and pitch control. A time domain model of coupled, linear time-invariant second order differential equations is derived from the frequency response model with the frequency dependent added mass and damping approximated as constant values at the heave natural frequency. Wave exciting forces are modeled as a sum of sinusoids. A systematic selection procedure of state and control weighting matrices is presented to obtain good transient behavior and acceptable fin movement. The validity of this controller design process is throughly investigated by simulations both in time domain and frequency domain and singular value plots of transfer function matrices. The finally designed control system shows good overall performances revealing that the applicability of the present study is proved successful.

  • As environmental regulations have been strengthened and high fuel efficiency has been in demand in recent years, the number of ships using natural gas as a fuel is increasing. The demand for ships using LPG or methanol, which are emerging as eco-friendly vessel fuels, is also increasing. In this perspective, ME-LGI engines using LPG or methanol as a fuel have attracted considerable attention. Ships equipped with an ME-LGI engine are required to check the reliability of the fuel injection valve during shipping. This means that the development of a fuel injection valve tester is essential for the commercialization of ME-LGI engine. This study conducted the conceptual design of a fuel injection valve tester for ME-LGI engines using a system engineering process in the order of requirements analysis, functional analysis, and design synthesis. In the requirement analysis stage, the operating process of fuel injection valve was analyzed, and the necessity of checking the sealing oil leakage was then derived. In the functional analysis stage, the functions and flow of them were defined at each functional level. In the design synthesis stage, the equipment for each function was set and the process block diagram based on it was derived. In addition, preliminary risk analysis was performed as a part of system analysis and control, and safety measures were added to the conceptual design. This study is expected to be a good reference material for the concept design of other systems in the future because it shows the application process of a system engineering process to the conceptual design in detail.

  • The congestion of railway vehicle and station shows up to 220%. Especially, transfer resistance of passenger increase rapidly by the collision of circulation. So increment of travel time, occurrence of safety accidents act as a factor that inhibits the utilization of urban railway station. In this paper, to improve traveling speed and comfort of urban rail passengers, urban transit passenger guidance system using congestion management model is proposed. The congestion management model that can mitigate a recurring/non-recurring congestion is constructed and the preliminary design of the system (middleware system, control system, guidance drive system) is carried out. Passenger Guidance System is configured by step for changing the external data into a form usable by the algorithm, step to perform the congestion management algorithm using the real-time data and historical data, step to control device based on the value that is calculated by congestion management algorithm, step to drive the device based on the information in the control system and circulation guidance devices. In the future, detail design will be performed based on the preliminary design. A prototype of the various devices according to the station structures and locations will be made. The control module of guidance device will be developed.

  • RFID and Kiosk has been acquiring the essential position not only for providing simple information but also as the tool for establishing Ubiquitous based society. Especially it can be said that the time for developing various Kiosks as important methods to conducting marketing and service through the differentiation and easiness on dealing information has come. Considering the present requirement, 'U-Commerce System' has been designed and developed. In the system, the RFID reader installed in 'U-Shop Kiosk System' recognizes the RFID tag on situated the specific products and detail product information and related multimedia advertisement are provided. Moreover, when the customers have the needs to purchase concerned products on the spot, they can pay and order by using credit cards. By employing the system, the amount of stock and delivery condition can be monitored in real time and the gathered information in DB can be used for dealing with stock related matters. In addition, a system can be developed to monitor and manage the remote shops in real time base. Furthermore, to overcome the limit of simple unmanned ubiquitous style Kiosk, the possibility of developing an expansion model of ubiquitous style CRM Kiosk has been suggested.

  • Radio Frequency Test Set (RFTS) is essential to verify Telemetry, Command & Ranging (TC&R) RF subsystem of both Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) satellite during Assembly Integration & Test (AI&T). The existing RFTS was specialized for each project and needed to be modified for each new satellite. The new design enables RFTS to be used in various projects. The hardware and software was designed considering this and therefore it could be directly used in other projects within a similar test period without modification or inconvenience. It will be also easily controlled, modified, and managed through the extension in modularization according to each function and the use of COTS (commercial on-the-self) and this will improve system reliability. A more reliable RF test measurement is also provided in this new RFTS by using an accurate reference clock signal.
