우리나라에도 여러 가지 분야별 시소러스가 연구되고 있으나 여러 분야를 망라하는 대규모 한글매크로시소러스는 아직 없다고 보아야 할 것이다. 또한 분야별 시소러스를 통합하여 매크로시소러스를 구축하는 것은 거의 불가능하며, 통합할 만큼의 분야별 한글시소러스도 없다. 본 연구에서는 처음부터 매크로시소러스 구축을 위하여 개발한 범용시소러스 관리시스템의 내용과 이 시스템을 이용하여 전 분야를 대상으로 개발하고 있는 한글 매크로시소러스의 개발현황에 대하여 논하고자 한다.

본 논문은 하나의 도메인에 대해 서로 연관된 여러 개의 시소러스를 효율적으로 구축, 관리, 검색, 브라우징, 항해하기 위한 확장된 객체기반 시소러스 시스템을 제안한다. 이 시스템은 1) 대규모의 시소러스를 효율적으로 분산하여 구축할 수 있는 기능을 제공하고, 2) 구축된 시소러스간의 일관성 있는 검색, 브라우징, 항해를 제공한다 이러한 기능을 통해 사용자들은 내부적으로 분산된 시소러스를 하나의 시소러스처럼 이용할 수 있다.

For the construction of thesaurus, a thesaurus management system is needed which can process dynamic variations fast and exactly such as input. correction and deletion of words, and definition of new relationship between words. In this paper, I developed a thesaurus management system based on the object-oriented technique and GUI(graphic user interface) screen, and to enhance the effectiveness of information retrieval. I put emphasis on the expansion of synonym, English and Korean words containing the same concept.

시소러스는 정보검색과정에서 용어를 통제하여 색인과 검색에서 중요한 기능을 수행하는 도구로 사용되고 있는 통제용어집이다. 그러나 정보검색시스템 환경의 변화에도 불구하고 기존의 시소러스와 시소러스의 작성지침으로 사용되고 있는 국제 표준인 ISO 2788이나 Z39.19에서 제시하고 있는 기준은 용어간의 관계를 단순히 표현하고 있어 색인이나 검색시 용어통제의 어려움을 겪고 있다. 본 연구는 시소러스의 용어관계를 국제 표준과 현재 사용되고 있는 각종 시소러스를 비교 분석하여, 시소러스 용어관계의 확장방안을 제시한다.

정보검색과정에서 온라인 시소러스는 이용자가 생각하고 있는 개념어를 시스템의 색인어로 보다 정확하게 표현하는 동시에, 관련구조를 통해 탐색의 범위를 확장ㆍ축소할 수 있게 한다. 온라인 시소러스를 충분히 활용하기 위해서는 이용자가 시소러스의 구조에 쉽게 접근하여 계층ㆍ관련구조를 충분히 살피고, 용어 사이를 자유롭게 탐험할 수 있는 장치가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 시소러스 표시방법의 장단점 등에 근거하여 정보검색과정에서 이용할 수 있는 시소러스 브라우저를 사전탐색 기능, 시소러스 구조의 표시 기능, 탐색문 형성 기능으로 나누어 설계하였다.

백과사전 데이타베이스의 효과적인 검색을 위한 색인시스템을 설계하였다. 여기에서는 항목에 대한 각종 속성정보와 본문정보를 모두 포함한 색인표제어파일을 작성하고, 각 항목에 대한 참조항목을 별도로 두지 않고 시소러스파일의 BT, NT, RT, UF를 사용하여 그 항목과 연관된 항목을 참조하도록 한다. 시소러스파일은 각 색인표제어에 부여한 주제분류기호(DDC, 또는 KDC)의 계층구조를 이용하여 자동생성한 후 색인자의 수작업을 거쳐 작성된다. 이 색인시스템을 통해 백과사전에 포함되어 있는 모든 정보를 이용한 다양한 접근이 가능하며 시소러스를 사용하여 관련항목을 브라우징을 할 수 있어 포괄적인 검색이 가능하다.

The thesaurus can control the headings in a classification scheme and can serve as an index of the classification scheme itself. In records management, the thesaurus controls functional terms and expands the access point of search to complement the functional classification scheme. In recent years, ISO 25964, the international standard for thesaurus construction, has been revised because of changes in the information environment and the development of thesaurus construction and utilization systems. Part 1 of ISO 15489, the international standard for overall records management, was also amended in 2016. In addition, the Integrated Public Sector Vocabulary (IPSV) in the UK, EuroVoc in Europe, and Functions of New Zealand (FONZ) in New Zealand have been effectively building and linking thesauri to reflect recent trends. In this study, we propose a thesaurus construction guideline for systematic record management in terms of related standards and cases, and suggest an improvement plan for the thesaurus construction guideline in Korea.

본고에서는 전문정보 검색시스템의 검색효율을 높일 수 있는 방안에 하나로서 해당주제분야별 전문정보의 시소러스 개발을 제안하고, 이를 통해 이용자 중심의 전문정보 검색시스템을 구축하는데 도움을 줄 수 있는 방안을 모색하고자 한다.

In this paper we propose a formal data model of an object-based thesaurus system supporting multi-dimensional facets. According to facets reflecting on respective user perspectives, it supports systematic construction, browsing, navigating and referencing of thesauri. Unlike other faceted thesaurus systems, it systematically manages its complexity by appropriately ing sophisticated conceptual structure through visualized browsing and navigation as well as construction. The browsing and navigation is performed by dynamically generating multi-dimensional virtual thesaurus hierarchies called "faceted thesaurus hierarchies." The hierarchies are automatically constructed by combining facets, each representing a dimension of view. Such automatic construction may make it possible the flexible extension of thesauri for they can be easily upgraded by pure insertion or deletion of facets. With a well defined set of self-referential queries, the thesauri can also be effectively referenced from multiple view points since they are structured by appropriately interpreting the semantics of instances based on facets. In this paper, we first formalize the underlying model and then implement its prototype to demonstrate its feasibility.

자동색인 시스템의 색인이 선정 능력을 향상시키기 위한 특정어파일 구축을 제안한다. 특정어파일을 도입함으로써 색인어 선정시 좀더 포괄적인(또는 세부적인) 주제어선정을 돕고 또한 전조합색인의 문제점으로 야기되기 쉬운 검색누수현상을 막을 수 있다. 특정어파일은 시소러스 기반 자동시스템의 성능을 강화하거나 시소러스파일의 대용으로 이용할 수 있을 것이다.
