Message authentication is an essential security element in vehicular ad-hoc network(VANET). For a secure message authentication, integrity, availability, privacy preserving skill, and also efficiency in various environment should be provided. RAISE scheme has been proposed to provide efficient message authentication in the environment crowded with lots of vehicles and generally considered to be hard to provide efficiency. However, as the number of vehicles communicating in the area increases, the overhead is also incurred in proportion to the number of vehicles so that it still needs to be reduced, and the scheme is vulnerable to some attacks. In this paper, to make up for the vulnerabilities in dense vehicular communication network, we propose a more secure and efficient scheme using a process that RSU(Road Side Unit) transmits the messages of neighbor vehicles at once with Bloom Filter, and timestamp to protect against replay attack. Moreover, by adding a handover function to the scheme, we simplify the authentication process as omitting the unnecessary key-exchange process when a vehicle moves to other area. And we confirm the safety and efficiency of the scheme by simulating the false positive probability and calculating the traffic.

An intrusion detection system is a technology that detects abnormal behaviors that violate security, and detects abnormal operations and prevents system attacks. Existing intrusion detection systems have been designed using statistical analysis or anomaly detection techniques for traffic patterns, but modern systems generate a variety of traffic different from existing systems due to rapidly growing technologies, so the existing methods have limitations. In order to overcome this limitation, study on intrusion detection methods applying various machine learning techniques is being actively conducted. In this study, a comparative study was conducted on data preprocessing techniques that can improve the accuracy of anomaly detection using NGIDS-DS (Next Generation IDS Database) generated by simulation equipment for traffic in various network environments. Padding and sliding window were used as data preprocessing, and an oversampling technique with Adversarial Auto-Encoder (AAE) was applied to solve the problem of imbalance between the normal data rate and the abnormal data rate. In addition, the performance improvement of detection accuracy was confirmed by using Skip-gram among the Word2Vec techniques that can extract feature vectors of preprocessed sequence data. PCA-SVM and GRU were used as models for comparative experiments, and the experimental results showed better performance when sliding window, skip-gram, AAE, and GRU were applied.

IT infrastructure operation has advanced, and the methods for managing systems have become widely adopted. Recently, research has focused on improving system management using Syslog. However, utilizing log data collected through these methods presents challenges, as logs are extracted in various formats that require expert analysis. This paper proposes a system that utilizes edge computing to distribute the collection of Syslog data and preprocesses duplicate data before storing it in a central database. Additionally, the system constructs a data dictionary to classify and count data in real-time, with restrictions on transmitting registered data to the central database. This approach ensures the maintenance of predefined patterns in the data dictionary, controls duplicate data and temporal duplicates, and enables the storage of refined data in the central database, thereby securing fundamental data for big data analysis. The proposed algorithms and procedures are demonstrated through simulations and examples. Real syslog data, including extracted examples, is used to accurately extract necessary information from log data and verify the successful execution of the classification and storage processes. This system can serve as an efficient solution for collecting and managing log data in edge environments, offering potential benefits in terms of technology diffusion.

According to the statistics about the fatal crashes that have occurred on the expressways for the last 5 years, those who died on the shoulders of the road has been as 3 times high as the others who died on the expressways. It suggests that the crashes on the shoulders of the road should be fatal, and that it would be important to prevent the traffic crashes by cracking down on the vehicles intruding the shoulders of the road. Therefore, this study proposed a method to detect a vehicle that violates the shoulder lane by using the Faster R-CNN. The vehicle was detected based on the Faster R-CNN, and an additional reading module was configured to determine whether there was a shoulder violation. For experiments and evaluations, GTAV, a simulation game that can reproduce situations similar to the real world, was used. 1,800 images of training data and 800 evaluation data were processed and generated, and the performance according to the change of the threshold value was measured in ZFNet and VGG16. As a result, the detection rate of ZFNet was 99.2% based on Threshold 0.8 and VGG16 93.9% based on Threshold 0.7, and the average detection speed for each model was 0.0468 seconds for ZFNet and 0.16 seconds for VGG16, so the detection rate of ZFNet was about 7% higher. The speed was also confirmed to be about 3.4 times faster. These results show that even in a relatively uncomplicated network, it is possible to detect a vehicle that violates the shoulder lane at a high speed without pre-processing the input image. It suggests that this algorithm can be used to detect violations of designated lanes if sufficient training datasets based on actual video data are obtained.

Currently, in Korea, due to the rapid aging and deterioration of facilities, the minimum Maintenance Level and Performance Level' of facilities are required by the 'Facility Safety Act' or 'Infrastructure Management Act'. Since infrastructure assets have a long lifespan and the pattern of deterioration over time is complex, it is very difficult to maintain infrastructure as 'minimum maintenance state' or 'minimum performance state' by the current way of management. 'Asset Management' shall be performed not only by a technical perspective, but also by an accounting perspective such as cost and asset value. However, due to lack of awareness of 'asset management' among stakeholder, only technical perspective management is being carried out in practice. In order to effectively manage infrastructure assets, complex consideration of various asset value factors such as budget and service as well as safety and durability are required. In this paper, we presented a theory to evaluate and quantify the road network value for efficient asset management of the road network. We also presented a method of simulation to apply the theory presented in this paper. Through simulation and the results derived from this study, it is possible to specify the budget for the future national asset management, and to optimize the strategy for the management of old road facilities.
In this paper, we propose an efficient image processing system to detect and track the movement of specific objects such as patients. The proposed system extracts the outline area of an object from a binarized difference image by applying a thinning algorithm that enables more precise detection compared to previous algorithms and is advantageous for mixed-mode design. The binarization and thinning steps, which require a lot of computation, are designed based on RTL (Register Transfer Level) and replaced with optimized hardware blocks through logic circuit synthesis. The designed binarization and thinning block was synthesized into a logic circuit using the standard 180n CMOS library and its operation was verified through simulation. To compare software-based performance, performance analysis of binary and thinning operations was also performed by applying sample images with 640 × 360 resolution in a 32-bit FPGA embedded system environment. As a result of verification, it was confirmed that the mixed-mode design can improve the processing speed by 93.8% in the binary and thinning stages compared to the previous software-only processing speed. The proposed mixed-mode system for object recognition is expected to be able to efficiently monitor patient movements even in an edge computing environment where artificial intelligence networks are not applied.

The Sortie Generation Rate (SGR) is a critical performance indicator for carrier-based aircraft and is a key factor for the carrier design process. This study aims to analyze the factors that affect SGR and establish a representative Sortie Generation Process (SGP) along with simulation results to calculate SGR for a naval ship equipped to carry aircraft. Detailed SGR factors are identified from the perspectives of the aircraft, aviation personnel, and aircraft carrier during the flight preparation stage, and the SGP is established accordingly. As a representative, Korean Navy's CVX basic design is chosen for detailed analysis. The physical dimension and spots for the deck design with time and probabilistic data of SGP are considered to develop a queueing network model for SGR calculation. To consider the specific probabilistic features, the model was solved with discrete event simulation tools(SimPy and AnyLogic) where the results show great agreement. Such findings on SGR factors and calculation are expected to be incorporated in the future development of SGR calculation algorithms and also present guidelines for proper design of aircraft carrier based on concrete operation concept.
As technology advances, Internet of Things (IoT) technology is rapidly evolving as well. Various protocols, including Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT), are being used in IoT technology. MQTT, a lightweight messaging protocol, is considered a de-facto standard in the IoT field due to its efficiency in transmitting data even in environments with limited bandwidth and power. In this paper, we propose a method to improve the message transmission method in MQTT 5.0, specifically focusing on the shared subscription feature. The widely used round-robin method in shared subscriptions has the drawback of not considering the current state of the clients. To address this limitation, we propose a method to select the optimal transmission method by considering the current state. We model this problem based on Markov decision process (MDP) and utilize Q-Learning to select the optimal transmission method. Through simulation results, we compare our proposed method with existing methods in various environments and conduct performance analysis. We confirm that our proposed method outperforms existing methods in terms of performance and conclude by suggesting future research directions.
Recently, as the number of female players has increased rapidly, the electronic gaming industry has begun to look at ways to appeal to the largely untapped female market. According to the latest game market investigative report by China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), the total number of game players in China increased by 24.8% in 2009, reached 69,130,000 people, and 38.9% of them are female players. This growth in the number of female player is corroborated by a series of investigative reports from IResearch Company in Shanghai, China: from 2003 to 2009, the number of female players grew from 8% to more than 49%. Therefore, no matter how much attention the game production companies have given to male players or how they have ignored the female players before, the companies would be sensible to face up this reality and adjust their marketing policy a bit more. This article analyzes gender preferences in video games which shows that male players are more likely to be attracted to elements of aggression, violence, competition and fast action in electronic game-playing, while female players are drawn to emotional and social aspects of the games such as an understanding of character relationships. The literatures cited indicates that female players also show apparent preference for games with familiar environments, games that allow players to work together, games that have more than one way to win, and games in which characters do not die. It also discusses the characteristics of female-friendly games from the aspect of emotion, pointing out that the simulation games involving pet, dressing-up, and social simulation games are very popular with female players. Because these are the most suitable game types to fill with emotions of love, share, jealousy, superiority, mystery, these are absolutely attractive to female players. Finally, in accord with the above, I propose some principles of designing female-oriented games, including presenting a good-looking leading character, making the story interesting with "live" NPCs(Non-Playing Characters), and finding ways to satisfy female nature instincts such as taking care of others and the inborn interest of classifying and selecting.

Due to the many advantages including low price, low power consumption, and miniaturization, the CMOS camera has been utilized in many applications, including mobile phones, the automotive industry, medical sciences and sensoring, robotic controls, and research in the security field. In particular, the 360 degree omni-directional camera when utilized in multi-camera applications has displayed issues of software nature, interface communication management, delays, and a complicated image display control. Other issues include energy management problems, and miniaturization of a multi-camera in the hardware field. Traditional CMOS camera systems are comprised of an embedded system that consists of a high-performance MCU enabling a camera to send and receive images and a multi-layer system similar to an individual control system that consists of the camera's high performance Micro Controller Unit. We proposed the SL-AVS (Small Size/Low power Around-View System) to be able to control a camera while collecting image data using a high speed synchronization technique on the foundation of a single layer low performance MCU. It is an initial model of the omni-directional camera that takes images from a 360 view drawing from several CMOS camera utilizing a 110 degree view. We then connected a single MCU with four low-power CMOS cameras and implemented controls that include synchronization, controlling, and transmit/receive functions of individual camera compared with the traditional system. The synchronization of the respective cameras were controlled and then memorized by handling each interrupt through the MCU. We were able to improve the efficiency of data transmission that minimizes re-synchronization amongst a target, the CMOS camera, and the MCU. Further, depending on the choice of users, respective or groups of images divided into 4 domains were then provided with a target. We finally analyzed and compared the performance of the developed camera system including the synchronization and time of data transfer and image data loss, etc.
