본 논문에서는 시맨틱 웹을 위한 마크업 언어인 RDF와 MPEG-7 표준을 따르는 XML 문서를 이용하여 구축된 비디오 검색 시스템에 대한 연구결과를 기술한다. 본 논문에서 제안된 시스템은 RDF를 통해 비디오 파일에 대한 정보를 웹 자원의 관점으로 정의/저장한다. 또한 비디오에 대한 내용기반 검색을 위해 비디오를 구성하는 중요 프레임들을 추출하여 그림 파일로 저장하는 한편 각 프레임에 대한 정보를 MPEG-7 표준에 따라 XML 형태로 저장한다. 이렇게 구축된 정보들을 바탕으로 비디오 검색 엔진은 사용자의 질의요청을 수행한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 비디오 검색 시스템은 비디오에 대한 다양한 검색은 물론 비디오에 대한 내용기반 검색이 가능한 장점을 가진다.

There are many kinds of applications or software components to manage files in a local computer, but it is very difficult to organize personal documents in a consistent way and to search expected ones in a precise way. In this paper, we present our development of a document management and retrieval tool, which is named Ontalk. Our system provides a semi-automatic metadata generator and an ontology-based search engine for electronic documents. Ontalk can create and import various ontologies in RDFS or OWL for describing the metadata. Our system that is built upon.NET technology is easily communicated with or flexibly plugged into many different programs.

기존 전자상거래 플랫폼과 컨텐츠는 데이터의 확장 및 통합이 고려되지 않은 HTML을 중심으로 한 표현 기반 기술로 되어 있고, 각 사이트별로 상품 정보에 대한 분류체계가 상이하여 구매자들이 상품별 비교와 검색에 있어서 많은 시간을 낭비하는 등 많은 문제점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 전자상거래 사이트들 간의 효율적인 정보 공유의 필요성이 제기 되고 있다. 또한 정보의 공유가 어려운 기술로 인하여 판매자와 구매자들의 다양한 요구를 만족시키지 못하고 있다. 그러므로 본 논문에서는 최근 차세대 웹기술로 각광받고 있는 시맨틱 웹 기반 기술인 RDF/RDFS를 이용하여 기존의 상점에 제시된 상품정보를 Wrapper 기술을 이용하여 필요한 정보만을 추출한 뒤, 이것을 기반으로 RDF 트리플과 문서로 생성한다. 상품 정보에 대한 온톨로지를 설계한 뒤 이를 Web Ontology Language (OWL)를 사용하여 상품 지식 기반 온톨로지를 구축하고, 이를 RDF 트리플과 문서와의 분석과 매칭을 통하여 이종의 상점에 표현된 상품들을 실시간으로 비교 검색하고 동적으로 상품에 대한 지식 기반 온톨로지를 생성하는 웹 온톨로지 시스템을 설계 제안하였다.

웹 정보의 의미적 검색을 위한 시맨틱 웹의 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 시맨틱 웹에서 핵심이 되는 것은 온톨로지이다. 2004년 2월 W3C는 온톨로지 구축을 위해 RDF(S)와 OWL을 온톨로지 구축 언어의 표준으로 제정하고 총 13개의 기술문서를 공표하여, 온톨로지 언어의 정의와 구축 사례 및 활용의 내용을 제공하고 있다. 이로 인해, 많은 온톨로지들이 여러 목적에 의해 구축되고 있으며, 그 활용도는 점차 증가하고 있다. 하지만 지리정보의 검색을 위한 온톨로지는 구축이 어려우며 이에 대한 연구도 미흡하다. 이에 본 논문에서는 지역과 지역의 위치 정보, 지역 내의 건물 및 도로에 대한 위치정보를 온톨로지로 구축할 수 있는 방법과 이를 지리정보 검색에 활용할 수 있는 방안을 연구하였다. 그 결과, 우리는 위치에 대한 온톨로지 구축을 위한 3가지 어휘를 설계하였고, 이를 이용하여 효율적이고 의미적인 지리정보 검색이 가능하다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

사용자의 의도에 맞는 정보를 검색하기 위해서는 인터넷 환경에서 웹 문서 자원 사이의 의미 정보를 온톨로지로 표현하고, 이 온톨로지를 컴퓨터가 이해할 수 있게 하는 시맨틱 웹의 도입이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 OWL 온톨로지 기반의 추론을 통한 논문 정보 검색시스템에 대하여 논한다. 시맨틱 웹의 새로운 온톨로지 언어로 부상한 OWL 기반의 논문 온톨로지를 구축하고, 논문 속성들 간의 다양한 상관관계를 서술논리 쿼리로 작성한다. 검색시스템은 이 쿼리를 기반으로 논문 온톨로지에 대하여 추론함으로써 지능적인 정보 검색이 가능하도록 하였다.

본 연구에서는 온톨로지를 이용한 SW-IQS(Semantic Web based Information Query System)를 제안한다. 제안한 시스템은 자동 분류 기술과 정보 검색 기법들을 이용하여 반구조(semi-structured) 문서뿐만 아니라 비구조(unstructured) 문서의 처리를 극대화시키고자 한다. 또한 상호 운용성 및 데이터 통합을 위해 RDF(S) 방식의 문서 저장 서버를 지원하며 웹 페이지들간에 검색 순위를 두어 보다 신속하고 정확한 정보 검색이 가능하도록 하고자 한다. 마지막으로 새로운 순위 측정 알고리즘을 제안하고 이를 이용한 성능 평가를 실시하여 그 효율성과 정확성을 검증해 보이고자 한다.

Metadata and ontology can be used to retrieve related information through the inference mure accurately and simply on the Semantic Web. RDF and RDF Schema are general languages for representing metadata and ontology. An enormous number of keywords on the Semantic Web are very important to make practical applications of the Semantic Web because most users prefer to search with keywords. In this paper, we consider a resource as a unit of query results. And we classily queries with keyword conditions into three patterns and propose indexing techniques for keyword-search considering both metadata and ontology. Our index maintains resources that contain keywords indirectly using conceptual relationships between resources as well as resources that contain keywords directly. So, if user wants to search resources that contain a certain keyword, all resources are retrieved using our keyword index. We propose a structure of table for storing RDF Schema information that is labeled using some simple methods.

As recently XML is becoming the standard of exchanging web documents and public documentations, XML data are increasing in many areas. To retrieve the information about XML documents efficiently, the semantic web based on the ontology is appearing. The existing ontology has been constructed manually and it was time and cost consuming. Therefore in this paper, we propose the semi-automatic ontology generation technique using the data mining technique, the association rules. The proposed method solves what type and how many conceptual relationships and determines the ontology domain level for the automatic ontology generation, using the data mining algorithm. Appying the association rules to the XML documents, we intend to find out the conceptual relationships to construct the ontology, finding the frequent patterns of XML tags in the XML documents. Using the conceptual ontology domain level extracted from the data mining, we implemented the semantic web based on the ontology by XML Topic Maps (XTM) and the topic map engine, TM4J.

콜센터의 고객문의는 복잡하여 기존 검색 시스템으로는 고객의 문제점을 신속하게 찾아 상담에 적용하는데 문제가 많았다. 온톨로지를 구축하고 시맨틱 검색을 제공할 경우 보다 보다 좋은 검색 기능을 제공할 것으로 기대되나 콜센터의 상담지식은 내용이 매우 복잡하여 그 텍스트의 내용을 완벽하게 온톨로지로 표현하는 것은 쉽지 않았다. 본 논문에서는 온톨로지 기반으로 구축된 지식베이스의 데이터 검색과 함께 그와 가장 관련성이 높은 문서를 출력하기 위해 문서를 온톨로지와 링크하여 어노테이션하는 방법을 제안한다. 본 시스템을 적용한 상담에서 상담원들의 생산성이 향상되고 고객 만족도를 높이는 결과를 확인했다.
