A WLAN Pre-Authentication Scheme Based on Fast Channel Switching for 3G-WLAN Interworking (3G-WLAN Interworking 환경에서의 빠른 채널스위칭 기반의 무선랜 선인증 기법)

  • The current trend of the handover authentication delay time is gradually increased according to the interworking between 3G cellular network and WLANs. Therefore, authentication mechanism minimized in delay is required to perform the seamless handover and support the inter-subnet and inter-domain handover. In this paper, we propose a novel pre-authentication scheme based on the fast channel switching which directly performs the authentication with the next access point in advance. In addition, the proposed scheme is efficient in the inter-domain handover and can be easily implemented in current WLANs since it just modifies the client side of user. To analysis and evaluate our scheme, we compare the packet loss ratio and the delay time with the two standard 802.11 authentication schemes. The analytical results show that our scheme is approximate 10 times more effective than the standard schemes in packet loss and the delay time is minimized down to 0.16 msec.

Rule-based Normalization of Relative Temporal Information

  • Documents often contain relative time expressions, and it is important to define a schema of the relative time information and develop a system that extracts such information from corpus. In this study, to deal with the relative time expressions, we propose seven additional attributes of timex3: year, month, day, week, hour, minute, and second. We propose a way to represent normalized values of the relative time expressions such as before, after, and count, and also design a set of rules to extract the relative time information from texts. With a new corpus constructed using the new attributes that consists of dialog, news, and history documents, we observed that our rule-set generally achieved 70% accuracy on the 1,041 documents. Especially, with the most frequently appeared attributes such as year, day, and week, we got higher accuracies compared to other attributes. The results of this study, our proposed timex3 attributes and the rule-set, will be useful in the development of services such as question-answer systems and chatbots.

Part-time Work in Sweden: The Coexistence in Tension of Flexibility and Gender Equality (스웨덴의 시간제근로: 유연성과 성평등의 긴장 속 공존)

  • Part-time jobs in Sweden are highly feminized yet are in fair conditions in terms of job security, earnings, and collective representation. Three points are considered to be important to understand why part-time work in Sweden carries such positive characteristics. First, the part-time work in Sweden is widely spread not as a result of employers' need for labor flexibilization but as means to enhance the work-life balance, a value pursued within a broader social policy package to change the breadwinner model. Second, discrimination against part-time workers is restrained in Sweden because the boundary between part-time and full-time is not conspicuous. Most of part-time jobs are occupied by regular workers who exert the right to part-time work, hence may go back to the full-time status any time. Third, the regulation on overtime work of part-time workers as well as full-time workers is strong. It is largely agreed among researchers that part-time work contributed greatly to an increase of female employment rate in Sweden. Since the 1970s, the increased availability of part-time jobs induced married women who used to be economically inactive to the labor market and maintained them to be economically active throughout the child rearing period. From the gender perspective, one may still raise issues regarding part-time work in Sweden such as persistent feminization and strong occupational sex segregation. However, the observed trend shows that the part-time work in Sweden has functioned more as a stepping stone to the full-time work for women than as a women's trap.

Dyeing and Photochromic Properties of Golden Yellow Reactive Dyes (Golden yellow 반응성 염료의 염색성 및 광변색 특성)

  • 염료의 포토크로미즘은 빛을 받았을 때, 염료의 분자구조가 변환되어 흡수파장이 달라지고 결과적으로 원래 색과 다른 색상을 나타내는 현상을 말한다. 대부분의 Golden yellow 색상을 나타내는 아조계 반응성염료는 Trans-Cis 간의 이성질체 전환을 통해 포토크로미즘 현상을 나타내며, 가역적으로 복색되기는 하지만 상업적으로 많은 문제와 불편을 초래한다. 한편 pyrazolone계 아조염료는 azo form 보다는 hydrazone form으로 더 많이 존재하는 것으로 알려져 있으며, 이로인해 상대적으로 Trans-Cis 이성질화가 잘 일어나지 않아 포토크로미즘 현상이 잘 일어나지 않을 것으로 기대된다. 이 연구에서는 3종의 pyrazolone계 golden yellow 반응성 염료를 합성하고, 합성한 염료를 면직물에 염색하여 염색성 및 견뢰도를 평가하였다. 또한 시판되고 있는 아조계 golden yellow 반응성 염료 4종을 선정하여 역시 염색성과 견뢰도 특성을 알아보았다. 그리고 7가지 염료의 광변색 특성을 조사하기 위해 포토크로미즘 평가방법인 ISO 105-B05법 및 이전 연구에서 제안된 광변색 평가방법을 사용하였다. ISO 105-B05법은 표준청색염포가 grey scale 4등급이 되는 시간을 구한 다음 이 시간의 1/4시간동안 조사한 후 포토크로미즘을 평가하는 것이며, 후자의 경우는 4시간동안 광조사된 시험편을 측색하고 시간에 따른 복색되는 정도를 평가한다. 합성한 pyrazolone계 염료들은 394-408nm의 최대흡수파장은 나타내었다. 7종의 yellow 반응성 염료들은 모두 면직물에 우수한 염색성 및 build-up성을 나타내었으며, 대체적으로 양호한 견뢰도를 얻었다. 또한 광변색 특성 평가결과 모든 염료들은 ISO 평가방법에 대하여 non-photochromic 특성으로 나타났으나, 다른 광변색 평가 결과 일부 염료들에 있어서 photochromic 특성이 있는 것으로 나타나 평가방법에 따라 차이를 보였다.

Time-Varying Income Elasticity of CO2 emission Using Non-Linear Cointegration (비선형 공적분모형을 이용한 이산화탄소 배출량의 소득탄력성 추정)

  • This paper intends to test the non-linear relationship between $CO_2$ emissions and income by employing cointegration model of the time-varying income elasticity. We select France, UK, Italy, Japan, US, China, India, Mexico and Korea and use non-parametric time series analysis on each country in order to estimate its own effect of income on $CO_2$ emission. The main results indicate that the $CO_2$ emission-income elasticities vary over time and the income elasticities of the Annex I countries tend to be higher in absolute terms than those of developing countries. In addition, we find that emission-income elasticities decrease for Annex I countries over time, whereas those for developing countries increase.

산소농도 측정을 위한 $UO_{2}$ 펠릿 공기산화로 장치의 갈바닉 센서와 지르코니움 센서의 특성 연구

  • ACP(Advanced Spent Fuel Conditioning Process)의 금속전환로에 $U_{3}O_{8}$을 공급하기 위하여 20 kgHM/batch의 $UO_{2}$ 펠릿(pellets)을 처리할 수 있는 공기산화로가 개발되고 있다. 그림 1은 산소농도 조절이 가능한 공기산화로이다. 공기산화로 이전의 공정인 슬리팅 장치에서 탈피복된 $UO_{2}$ 펠릿은 공기산화로로 운반되고, $500^{\circ}C$온도에서 공기를 공급하여 일정한 입도범위의 균질한 $U_{3}O_{8}$을 만든다. 그리고 다음공정의 금속전환장치로 이동된다. 본 논문에서는 모의연료의 산화에 대한 정확한 산소농도를 측정하고자 한다. 이를 위해서 갈바닉 센서와 지르코니움 센서가 사용되었고, 그 특성이 비교되었다. 14종의 금속 산화물이 혼합된 모의연료를 제조하여 산화실험이 수행되었으며, 시간변화에 따라 산소농도가 측정되었다. 산소농도 컨트롤러와 산소 센서를 사용한 공기산화로는 산소조절기에 의해 산소농도 100%까지 측정될 수 있다. 그림 2는 공기산화로의 산소농도를 조절할 수 있는 산소농도 측정시스템이다. 유량조절기(Mass Flow Controller)를 사용하여 질소와 산소의 혼합비를 변화시킬 수 있다. 또한 산소농도 측정시스템은 측정된 산소농도 값을 이용하여 $UO_{2}$의 산화시간을 계산하기 위하여 제작하였다. 산화시간 계산방법은 다음과 같다. 산소와 질소의 가스는 각각 40 L의 압력 봄베에 의해서 산소농도를 조절할 수 있는 공기산화로의 산소농도 측정시스템 안으로 유입된다. 유입된 산소와 질소의 배합은 컨트롤시스템 안에 있는 산소 유량조절기와 질소 유량 조절기를 사용하여 조절하며, 일정하게 혼합된 산소농도는 장치의 입구와 출구에서 산소 센서에 의해서 측정된다. 투입된 $UO_{2}$ 펠릿이 $500^{\circ}C$에서 반응하면서 공기산화로의 내부에 있는 산소농도가 감소된다. 이때 초기에 같았던 입력과 출력 농도가 시간의 흐름에 따라 감소되며, 펠릿이 완전히 산화됨과 동시에 출력 산소농도가 입력농도와 다시 같아질 때까지 소요된 구간이 산화시간이 된다.

Analysis of Tumorigenicity Data with Informative Censoring (종속적인 중도절단을 가진 동물종양 자료의 분석을 위한 모형)

  • In animal tumorigenicity data, the occurrence time of tumor is not observed because the existence of a tumor is examined only at either time of natural death or time of sacrifice for the animal. A three-state model (Health-Tumor onset-Death) is widely used to model the incomplete data. In this paper, we employed a frailty effect into the three-state model to incorporate the dependency of death on tumor occurrence when the time of natural death works as an informative censoring against the tumor onset time. For the inference of parameters, then the EM algorithm is considered in order to deal with missing quantities of tumor onset time and random frailty. The proposed method is applied to the bladder tumor data taken from Lindsey and Ryan (1993, 1994) and a simulation study is performed to show the behavior of the proposed estimators.

A Post-processing for Binary Mask Estimation Toward Improving Speech Intelligibility in Noise (잡음환경 음성명료도 향상을 위한 이진 마스크 추정 후처리 알고리즘)

  • This paper deals with a noise reduction algorithm which uses the binary masking in the time-frequency domain. To improve speech intelligibility in noise, noise-masked speech is decomposed into time-frequency units and mask "0" is assigned to masker-dominant region removing time-frequency units where noise is dominant compared to speech. In the previous research, Gaussian mixture models were used to classify the speech-dominant region and noise-dominant region which correspond to mask "1" and mask "0", respectively. In each frequency band, data were collected and trained to build the Gaussian mixture models and detection procedure is performed to the test data where each time-frequency unit belongs to speech-dominant region or noise-dominant region. In this paper, we consider the correlation of masks in the frequency domain and propose a post-processing method which exploits the Viterbi algorithm.

A Concurrency Control Method using Data Group Information in Mobile Computing Environments (이동 컴퓨팅 환경에서 데이타 그룰 정보를 이용한 동시성 제어 방법)

  • In mobile computing environments, a mobile host caches the data items to use the bandwidth efficiently and improve the response time of transactions. If the data items cached in mobile host are updated in the server, the server broadcasts an invalidation report for maintaining the cache consistency of mobile hosts. However, this method has a problem that the response time of mobile transactions can be long since their commit decision is delayed until receiving the invalidation report from the server In this paper, we propose the USR-MT method for improving the response time of mobile transactions. As the UGR-MT method can make a commit decision by using the data group information before receiving the invalidation report, the response time of mobile transactions can be improved. Also our method can improve the cache's efficiency since it prevents all the contents of a cache from being invalidated in the case that the disconnection of a mobile host is longer than the broadcast period of invalidation report.

Effect of Garbage Collection in the ZG-machine (ZG-machine에서 기억 장소 재활용 체계의 영향)

  • The ZG-machine is a space-efficient G-machine, which exploits a simple encoding method, called tag-forwarding, to compress the heap structure of graphs. Experiments on the ZG-machine without garbage collection shows that the ZG-machine saves 30% of heap space and the run-time overhead is no more than 6% than the G-machine. This paper presents the results of further experiments on the ZG-machine with the garbage collector. As a result, the heap-residency of the ZG-machine decreases by 34% on average although the run-time increases by 34% compared to the G-machine. The high rate of the run-time overhead of the ZG-machine is incurred by the garbage collector. However, when the heap size is 7 times the heap-residency, the run-time overhead of the ZG-machine is no more than 12% compared to the G-machine. With the aspect of reduced heap-residency, the ZG-machine may be useful in memory-restricted environments such as embedded systems. Also, with the development of a more efficient garbage collector, the run-time is expected to decrease significantly.
