초정밀 표면측정기술의 동향

  • 산업기술의 발달에 따라 각 분야마다 정밀한 부품을 요구하고 있다. 이는 이들 부품이 시스템의 성능에 영향을 미치고 있기 때문이다. 부품의 정도는 길이정도와 표면의 정도를 모두 의미한다. 길이정도는 부품의 상대적 크기정도를, 표면정도는 3차원 형상정도를 나타낸다. 이들 부품의 정도를 평가하기 위해서는 반드시 측정이라는 방법이 수행되어야 하며, 측정은 요구되는 측정정도에 따라 이에 상용되는 방법으로 행해지게 된다. 요구되는 측정정도는 시간이 지남에 따라 점차 증가되고 있다. 이 러한 경향은 그림1의 시대에 따른 측정정도를 보면 확인할 수 있다. 시대에 따라 측정정도는 급격히 증가하고 있고 현재의 측정은 초정밀측정이라 말하는 약 0.1nm의 정밀도를 갖고 있다. 측정정도에 따라 표면측정기술도 여러가지 방법이 행해지고 있는데 이들 측정방법은 크게 접촉식 측정방법과 비접촉 측정 방법으로 나눌 수 있다. 대표적인 접촉식 측정방법으로는 촉침식 측정방법을 들 수 있다. 이 방법은 다이아몬드 촉침을 표면상에 접촉하여 주사이동하게 하고 이때 표면의 요철에 따른 촉침의 상하운동을 고성능 변위센서를 이용하여 표면형상을 측정하는 것이다. 이는1nm의 수직분해능을 갖고 측정이 가능 하다. 이 방법은 표면에 접촉함으로 인해 신뢰성이 높지만, 표면의 접촉압력으로 인해 표면의 손상 우려가 있다. 이런 이유로 현재 비접촉 측정방법이 주목받고 있다. 표면측정을 실현하는 데에는 광학 기술이 적극적으로 활용되고 있으며, 최근에는 물리학의 원리들이 도입되고 있다. 본 글에서는 이러한 측정기술의 기본원리를 소개하고 각 기술이 응용되는 예를 소개하고자 한다.

터빈계통의 축정렬 (I) : 원리와 방법

  • 축정렬이 불량한 경우 축진동이 과도하게 발생하여 출력이 감소하고 소음이 발생하며, 심한 경우 회전체의 파손과 같은 손실을 입을 수 있다. 특히 축 정렬불량으로 인한 진동은 교정이 안되는 것이 특징이므로 근본적으로 진동 을 해결하기 위해서는 축 정렬을 다시 시행해야 한다. 그러나 터빈은 다른 기계 구조물과 달리 분해 점검에 많은 시간과 경비가 요구되므로 축 정렬시 정확한 작업이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 터빈계통의 축정렬을 수행하는 절차 와 방법에 대해서 검토하였다. 이를 위해 축정렬이 입력데이터로 쓰일 수 있 는 상태측정방법중 커플링 원주와 커플링 면 측정방법이 설명되었으며, 측정 값으로부터 축정렬을 수행하기 위해, 베어링의 이동량 계산과정과 쉼 가감량 의 계산방법을 기술하였다. 축정렬의 원리와 방법의 적용과정을 실제로 알아 보기 위해 평택화력 1,2호기에 대한 축정렬이 수행되었다. 1,2호기는 고압터 빈, 2단계의 저압터빈 및 발전기로 구성되어 있는 다축 시스템으로서, 제작 사측에서 요구하는 정렬 기준값을 감안하여 축정렬에 필요한 베어링 조정량 을 계산하였다. 계산과정은 기준로터로 지정된 저압터빈에서부터 축정렬상태 도를 작성하여 가면서 단계적으로 설명되었으며, 최종적으로 쉼의 가감량까 지를 보여줌으로서 축정렬과정을 완료하였다.

  • 본 논문은 유도전동기의 운전조작시에 발생되는 자계변화특성에 대하여 기술하였다. 본 측정시스템은 자기적분형 자계센서, 증폭기, 능동형 적분기로 이루어졌으며, 교정실험에 대한 측정계의 주파수대역과 감도는 각각 20[Hz]∼0.234[mV/μT]이다. 유도전동기의 기동과 정상운전중에 발생하는 자계성분을 측정하였으며, 고조파 성분을 고속 푸리에 변환기법으로 분석하였다. 유도전동기의 직입기동시에는 단일성 펄스자계가 강하게 발생하였으며, 이의 피크치는 정상상태의 값보다 5배이상 크게 나타났다. 이러한 긴 과도시간과 강한 자계의 세기는 전동기의 큰 인덕턴스와 동특성에 기인된다. 유도전동기의 정상운전시에는 유도전동기의 극수에 의존하는 기본파에 대한 분조파의 자계성분이 관측되었다. 또한, 자계의 분조파 성분은 전동기의 토크 변동으로 불균일한 회전토크로 인해 생기는 맥동전류와 전압플리커에 의해서 발생하는 것으로 생각된다. 인버터구동형 유도전동기에서는 직입기동에 비하여 많은 고조파 성분이 발생되고 있었으며, 특히 전동기의 구동주파수가 낮을수록 맥동토크에 의한 전류변화로 고조파 성분은 더욱 증가하였다.

  • Oscillatory magnetic fields produced in the brain due to neuronal activity can be measured by the sensor. Magnetoencephalography (MEG) is a non-invasive technique to record such neuronal activity due to excellent temporal and fair amount of spatial resolution, which gives information about the brain's functional activity. Potential utilization of high spatial resolution in MEG is likely to provide information related to in-depth brain functioning and underlying factors responsible for changes in neuronal waves in some diseases under resting state or task state. This review is a comprehensive report to introduce statistical models from MEG data including graphical network modelling. It is also meaningful to note that statisticians should play an important role in the brain science field.

Antagonistic Effects of Flumazenil on Tiletamine-Zolazepam Induced Anesthesia in Dogs (Tiletamine-Zolazepam에 의한 개의 마취에서 Flumazenil의 길항효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the antagonistic effects of flumazenil on anesthesia induced with tiletamine/zolazepam in dogs. The anesthetic effects (sedation, analgesic, muscle relaxation, posture and auditory response score), vital signs (heart rate, respiratory rate and rectal temperature) and blood biochemistry (glucose (GLU), total protein (TP), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST)) were examined as indicators of the antagonistic effects. A total of 6 clinically healthy mongrel dogs were used in this study. The dogs in TZ group received administration of tiletamine/zolazepam 10 mg/kg IV. The dogs in TZF group received administration dose of TZ 10 mg/ kg IV followed by the administration of flumazenil 0.1 mg/kg 20 minutes after administering a TZ 10 mg/kg dose. There were significant differences in the recovery of anesthesia between the groups. The GLU level in the TZF group after the administration of flumazenil was significantly higher than that of the TZ group. There was a larger change in the HR in the TZF group than in the TZ group until 30 minutes after flumazenil administration. The sternal recumbency, standing and walking times of the TZF group were faster than those of the TZ group. In conclusion, flumazenil showed antagonistic effect against tiletamine/zolazepam in dogs. When recovering from anesthesia, flumazenil reduced sternal recumbency, standing and walking times.

Antibacterial effect of electrolyzed water on Streptococcus mutans (전기분해수소수의 Streptococcus mutans에 대한 항균효과)

  • Objectives: Electrolyzed water has been proven to have antibacterial effects against various microorganisms. However, there are only a few studies about effects of electrolyzed water on oral bacteria. The purpose of this study was to examine the antibacterial effect of electrolyzed water on Streptococcus mutans in vitro. Methods: S. mutans KCOM 1054 was treated with electrolyzed water for 1 or 3 minutes and plated on Mitis Salivarius agar with 15% sucrose and bacitracin. After incubation for 48 hours, colony forming units (CFU) were counted, and dental plaque was quantified by crystal violet staining. Results: The growth of S. mutans was significantly inhibited by electrolyzed water (p<0.001). In addition, the dental plaque formation by S. mutans was decreased in a time-dependent manner by exposure to electrolyzed water (p<0.001). Conclusions: Our results suggest that electrolyzed water can effectively prevent dental caries by inhibiting growth of (and the formation of dental plaque by) S. mutans.

  • Interfacial properties and microfailure degradation mechanisms of the bioabsorbable composites for implant materials were investigated using micromechanical technique and measurement of surface wettability. As hydrolysis time increased, the tensile strength, the modulus and the elongation of poly(ester-amide) (PEA) and bioactive glass fibers decreased, whereas those of chitosan fiber almost did not change. Interfacial shear strength (IFSS) between bioactive glass fiber and poly-L-lactide (PLLA) was much higher than PEA or chitosan fiber/PLLA systems using dual matrix composite (DMC) specimen. The decreasing rate of IFSS was the fastest in bioactive glass fiber/PLLA composites whereas that of chitosan fiber/PLLA composites was the slowest. Work of adhesion, $W_a$ between bioactive glass fiber and PLLA was the highest, and the wettability results were consistent with the IFSS. Interfacial properties and microfailure degradation mechanisms can be important factors to control bioabsorbable composite performance.

Kinetics of the Low-temperature Pyrolysis of Mixed Plastics in the Batch Reactor (회분식반응기에서의 혼합 플라스틱의 저온열분해 kinetics)

  • Pyrolytic characteristics of mixed plastics containing 22 wt.% HDPE, 17 wt.% LDPE, 27 wt.% PP, 12 wt.% PS, 16 wt.% ABS, 6 wt.% PVC have been studied in the batch-type microreactor of stainless steel. Thermal degradation experiments were performed at temperature of $410{\sim}450^{\circ}C$. The yield of each pyrolytic products were obtained by the weight measurement and molecular weight distribution of pyrolytic liquid products determined by the GC-SIMDIS method. It was shown that the yield and molecular weight of pyrolytic liquid product were decreased with the increase of reaction temperature and time. It was know that 20wt% of PVC composing of the mixed plastics was converted to the gas products of chloride during the pyrolysis process. The chain-end scission rate parameter was determined to be 50.2 kcal/mole of mixed plastics by the Arrhenius plot.

Comparison of Anesthetic Effects Induced by Tiletamine-Zolazepam and Azaperone Plus Tiletamine-Zolazepam in Growing Pigs (돼지에서 Tiletamine-Zolazepam 단독과 Azaperone, Tiletamine-Zolazepam 합제의 마취 효과에 대한 비교)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the anesthetic effects of tiletamine-zolazepam (TZ) alone and azaperone plus tiletamine-zolazepam in growing pigs, and to compare the various physiological parameters in both treatments. Cross experiment was accomplished at 2-week interval. Group 1 (TZ group): six pigs ($31.4{\pm}4.83$ kg) received 4.4 mg/kg of TZ alone. Group 2 (ATZ group); the same six pigs ($43.6{\pm}4.31$ kg) received 4.4 mg/kg of TZ twenty minutes after receiving 2 mg/kg of azaperone. All of the anesthetic drugs were injected into the trapezius muscles. The pigs were fasted for 24 hours before the experiments. Induction and recovery values were determined. Heart rate, respiratory rate, rectal temperature, $pO_2,\;pCO_2$ and pH were determined before administration and 5, 25, 45, 65 and 85 minutes after administration. Induction time of ATZ group was more rapid than that of TZ group (p<0.01). During recovery, sternal recumbency time, standing time and walking time of ATZ group were longer than those of TZ group (p<0.01). Heart rate, respiratory rate, $pO_2,\;pCO_2$, and pH did not show especial differences between the two groups. However, rectal temperature was significantly different between the TZ and ATZ group (p<0.05). As a result, ATZ group had a faster induction and a longer duration of anesthesia than TZ group did. Thus, it was concluded that ATZ combination could be usefully used for chemical restraint in pigs.

  • Experiments were conducted to determine effects of whole and processed corns on in situ disappearance rates of nutrients in the rumen and in vitro degradability of dry matter by rumen microorganisms. Whole corn(WC) was processed into four different types; ground corn(GC), cracked corn(CC), flaked corn(FC), and soaked corn(SC). In the in situ experiment, the rate of ruminal DM disappearance after 48 hour incubation was highest in GC(76.1%) and lowest in WC and SC(12% ; P<0.01). The rate of ruminal CP disappearance after 48 hour incubation was highest in GC and CC(48 and 38%, respectively; P<0.01). The rate of ruminal OM disappearance after 48 hour incubation was highest in GC(76.14%) and lowest in WC and SC(11.82 and 12.26%, respectively; P<0.01). In the in vitro experiment, the two-stage incubation technique was used to measure digestibilities of whole and processed corns. The digestibility of DM was higher in GC, CC and FC(86.95, 85.84 and 82.29%, respectively) than in WC(15.36%; P<0.01).
