Synthesis of DMDBTDMA and determination of radiolysis products by GC/MS (DMDBTDMA의 합성 및 방사선 분해산물의 GC/MS 분석)

  • Dimethyldibutyltetradecylmalonamide (DMDBTDMA) extractant was used in a solvent extraction process for a radioactive liquid waste treatment. For the study of radiolysis phenomena, DMDBTDMA was synthesized and the degradation compounds (n-methylbutylamine, tetradecane, 1-tetradecanol) in the DMDBTDMA extractant, irradiated with $^{60}Co$ gamma ray, were identified and determined as radiolysis products by a Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer (GC/MS) analysis and GC/MS with selected ion monitoring (SIM) mode. Retention behavior of n-methylbutylamine, n-dodecane, tetradecane and 1-tetradecanol in the total ion chromatogram with the standard materials and n-dodecane as the internal standard (ISTD) were 2.35 min., 8.83 min., 10.68 min. and 12.75 min., respectively. In the case of tetradecane, there was a linear relationship between the concentration of the tetradecane and the absorbed dose of the ${\gamma}$-ray irradiated DMDBTDMA.

Effect of Cooking Conditions on the Antithiamine Activity of Bracken (고사리의 Thiamine 분해능에 미치는 조리조건의 영향)

  • Antithiamine activity of raw and processed brackens (Pteridium aquilinum) was evaluated by means of the thiochrome fluorescence and Lactobacillus viridescens bioassay methods and inter-related with the phenolic content and degree of browning. As blanching time of bracken elapsed, its antithiamine activity was enhanced whereas the phenolic content and brewing declined. Increased salt concnetrations in boiling water also raised the antithiamine activity, phenolic content and browning of raw bracken. When dried bracken was treated with sodium bicarbonate solution or soaked in running water, its antithiamine activity greatly decreased along with the increased phenolic content and browning. Heat cooking of bracken brought about a slight decrease in the antithiamine activity, phenolic content and browning. It was concluded that antithiamine activity existing in raw bracken Is reduced by various treatments, particularly by soaking in running water and that phenolics in bracken may play an important role in thiamine decomposition.

Effects of Low-temperature Blanching on Physical Properties of Chestnut Powder (Low-temperature Blanching 처리가 밤가루의 물리적 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • The effects of low-temperature blanching on the physical properties of chestnut powder were studied. Chestnuts were blanched in water for 15, 30 and 60 min., each at three temperatures viz. $45^{\circ}C,\;55^{\circ}C$ and $65^{\circ}C$. The particle size of chestnut powder was prepared smaller than 60 mesh$(250\;{\mu}m)$. Higher blanching time and temperature increased water binding capacity(WBC) of chestnut powder. Water soluble index(WSI) was the highest for chestnuts blanched at $65^{\circ}C$ for 30 min. As with water binding capacity(WBC), swelling power of chestnut powder increased with increasing blanching time and temperature but solubility showed an reduction by increasing blanching temperature. In Brabender amylographic examination, peak viscosity of chestnut powder showed great change, but the gelatinization temperature showed no significant differences by blanching conditions.

  • An experimental investigation of a microthruster that uses hydrogen peroxide as a monopropellant is described. The study comprises of preparation method of silver as a catalyst and performance evaluation of a mesoscale reactor. Reduction of silver in $H_2\;at\;500^{\circ}C$ resulted in the best reactivity of all the treatment method tested. A mesoscale reactor was built to find the optimum configuration for full decomposition of propellant. The catalyst bed was made of a glass wafer substrate sputtered with silver and had a length of 20 mm. We measured the conversion rate with varying feed rate of $H_2O_2$ and preheating temperature. With the feed rate of $H_2O_2$, the space time within the reactor varies as well. For the bed length of 20 mm, space time more than 480 s was required for full conversion.

  • Optimal thawing conditions of frozen model foods containing protein and starch were nvestigated at various thawing conditions such as room temperature, hot air, and microwave heating. Hardness of the frozen model foods was getting higher as the water content increased. Thawing rates at room temperature, hot-air heating at $50^{\circ}C$, and microwave heating were 0.02 Kg/min, 0.08 Kg/min, 0.01 Kg/min, respectively. Final thawing time was as follows; control 60min, 5% sucrose: 50 min, 10% sucrose: 30 min, 5% NaCl: 30 min. Total drip loss was as follows; room temperature thawing: 22.5%, 200W microwave thawing 1.3%, and $50^{\circ}C$ hot air thawing nearly negligible.

Effects of Roasting Conditions on Physicochemical Characteristics and Volatile Flavor Components of Chicory Roots (볶음조건이 치커리의 이화학적 특성과 향기성분에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was designed to investigate the reasonable roasting condition of chicory. Extraction and surface color development of roasted chicory were significantly influenced by roasting temperature and time, and they were increased with increasing time, and roasting at $170^{\circ}C$ showed the highest browning color development. Soluble solid contents was not affected by roasting temperature and time. Roasting for 10min at $150^{\circ}C$ exhibited the highest sensory score, at which the free sugar composition of the extract was 0.87% xylose, 0.62% fructose and 0.84% sucrose. A total of 17 volatile components were identified by GC/MSD from the dried and roasted chicories. Aldehyde, ketone and pyrazine compounds were found to be major volatile flavor components in chicory roots. It was concluded that the results of this work will be useful to determine the optimum conditions for roasting of chicory roots.

In this paper, steady-state and time-resolved nonlinear optical spectroscopic techniques to investigate the microscopic world of semiconductor materials were briefly described.

  • III-V족 화합물 반도체인 p-CaP의 자연산화막윽 30% $H_2O$$_2$용액 내에서 화학적인 이온반응을 통한 전기분해의 원리를 이용한 양극산화방법으로 형성하여 그 성장률과 광학적성질을 조사하였다. GaP자연산화막의 형성은 산소의 확산과정으로 이루어지며, 양측산화 막의 두께는 산화시간과 인가전압에 대하 여 선형적으로 비례하여 증가하였다. 자연산화막의 표면은 전자현미경으로 산화막의 두게는 파장이 6328$\AA$인 Ellipsometer를 사용하여 측정하였다. 광학적 성질은 적외선 영역에서의 광흡수 특성은 퓨리에 적외선 분광기로 측정하였으며 XRD 로 전압과 시간에 따른 산화막에 조성과 결정면을 알아보았다. 산화막의 형성방법과 형성조건에 따른 GaP 자연산화막의 절연막으로 이용하여 산화막에 조성에 따른 MOS 다이오드로서의 이용 가능성을 조사하였다.

  • 목적: 동시획득 T1/T2 강조 경사자장 펄스열을 이용하여 근골격계의 종양 관류 평가를 하고자 한다. 대상 및 방법: 근골격계 양성 및 악성 종양을 대상으로 동시획득 T1/T2 강조 경사자장 펄스열을 이용하여 시간해상도를 1.2초로 하여 1000회(약20분)를 반복하여 역동적 영상을 얻는다. 각각의 TR/TE1/TE2는 10/2/8 msec이다. 각 시기에서 서로 다른 TE를 가지고 있는 두 개의 영상을 이용하여, 수학적으로 분리하여 T1과 T2 값을 얻고, 이를 시간에 따라 배열한다. 이를 통하여, T2의 경우에는 일차효과를 이용하여 조직관류량(tissue blood volume)을 측정하고, T1에서는 2구획모델을 이용하여 투과도(permeability)를 측정한다.

A Study of Organic Matter Fraction Method of the Wastewater by using Respirometry and Measurements of VFAs on the Filtered Wastewater and the Non-Filtered Wastewater (여과한 하수와 하수원액의 VFAs 측정과 미생물 호흡률 측정법을 이용한 하수의 유기물 분액 방법에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, the organic matter and biomass was characterized by using respirometry based on ASM No.2d (Activated Sludge Model No.2d). The activated sludge models are based on the ASM No.2d model, published by the IAWQ(International Association on Water Quality) task group on mathematical modeling for design and operation of biological wastewater treatment processes. For this study, OUR(Oxygen Uptake Rate) measurements were made on filtered as well as non-filtered wastewater. Also, GC-FID and LC analysis were applied for the estimation of VFAs(Volatile Fatty Acids) COD(S_A) in slowly bio-degradable soluble substrates of the ASM No.2d. Therefore, this study was intended to clearly identify slowly bio-degradable dissolved materials(S_S) and particulate materials(X_I). In addition, a method capable of determining the accurate time to measure non-biodegradable COD(S_I), by the change of transition graphs in the process of measuring microbial OUR, was presented in this study. Influent fractionation is a critical step in the model calibrations. From the results of respirometry on filtered wastewater, the fraction of fermentable and readily biodegradable organic matter(S_F), fermentation products(S_A), inert soluble matter(S_I), slowly biodegradable matter(X_S) and inert particular matter(X_I) was 33.2%, 14.1%, 6.9%, 34.7%, 5.8%, respectively. The active heterotrophic biomass fraction(X_H) was about 5.3%.
