An Enhanced DESYNC Scheme for Simple TDMA Systems in Single-Hop Wireless Ad-Hoc Networks (단일홉 무선 애드혹 네트워크에서 단순 TDMA 시스템을 위한 DESYNC 알고리즘 개선 방안)

  • TDMA(Time Division Multiple Access) is a channel access scheme for shared medium networks. The shared frequency is divided into multiple time slots, some of which are assigned to a user for communication. Techniques for TDMA can be categorized into two classes: synchronous and asynchronous. Synchronization is not suitable for small scale networks because it is complicated and requires additional equipments. In contrast, in DESYNC, a biologically-inspired algorithm, the synchronization can be easily achieved without a global clock or other infrastructure overhead. However, DESYNC spends a great deal of time to complete synchronization and does not guarantee the maximum time to synch completion. In this paper, we propose a lightweight synchronization scheme, C-DESYNC, which counts the number of participating nodes with GP (Global Packet) signal including the information about the starting time of a period. The proposed algorithm is mush simpler than the existing synchronization TDMA techniques in terms of cost-effective method and guarantees the maximum time to synch completion. Our simulation results show that C-DESYNC guarantees the completion of the synchronization process within only 3 periods regardless of the number of nodes.

Construction and Validation of a Data Synchronization Server supporting OMA DS Standards (OMA DS 표준을 지원하는 자료동기화 서버 구축 및 적합성 검증)

  • In this paper, a DS (Data Synchronization) server for mobile communication environments is constructed and the suitability and the performance of its operations are validated. The DS server provides a way to update the newest data and keep data consistency for clients (mobile devices). In addition, the DS server constructed in this paper supports various synchronization types, and detects all changes and conflicts. In case of data conflicts, the DS server resolves the conflicts according to the several policies implemented in this work. The DS server conforms to the OMA(Open Mobile Alliance) DS standard protocol for interoperability with other mobile devices and servers. In addition to the transmission-by record scheme proposed by the OMA DS standard protocol, the DS server constructed in this paper also provides the transmission-by field scheme for the enhancement transmission performance between the server and clients. In order to validate its operations, data synchronization between the DS server and the SCTS (SyncML Conformance Test Suit), the suitability validation tool provided by the OMA, is performed. The validation results show that the DS server constructed in this paper satisfies all of the test cases except the Large Object function. The Large Object function will be implemented later because the function is not needed for the personal information synchronization process which this paper aims for. Also, synchronization times of the DS server are measured while increasing the number of data and clients. The results of the performance evaluations demonstrate that the DS server is scalable, in the sense that it has not suffered from any serious bottlenecks with respect to the number of data and clients. We expect that this work will provide a framework for various studies in the future for improving mobile DS operations.

  • 오늘날 멀티미디어 프리젠테이션에 대한 관심이 급증하면서 많은 사용자들이 텍스트 서비스뿐 아니라 이미지나 오디오, 동영상 데이터를 전송하거나 받을 수 있는 서비스를 요구한다. 이에 따라 멀티미디어를 통합 표현하기 위한 요구가 확산되어 XML에 기반을 둔 SMIL 이라는 멀티미디어 동기화 언어가 등장하게 되었다. SMIL은 오디오, 비디오, 이미지, 텍스트 등의 다양한 미디어 데이터들을 SMIL 문서 안에 하나의 시나리오로 동기화 하여 프리젠테이션 할 수 있게 한다. SMIL이 제공하는 동기화는 미디어들의 공간적인 배치에 따른 동기화와 프리젠테이션 시간에 따른 동기화로 나뉜다. 멀티미디어의 동기화를 위한 표준 언어인 SMIL은 사용자가 보다 편리하게 멀티미디어를 동기화하고 프리젠테이션 할 수 있도록 한다. 본 논문에서는 SMIL 1.0 권고안을 따르고 사용자들이 보다 쉽게 사용할 수 있는 SMIL 플레이어를 설계 및 구현하고자 한다.

배란동기화처리시 인공수정적기 구명에 관한 연구

  • 한우사육규모가 다두사육화 되어가고 전업화되면서 발정관찰이 어려워지고 인공수정을 기피하는 현상이 나타나기 시작하였다. 이러한 인공수정 기피현상을 해소하기 위해 발정관찰이 필요없는 정시인공수정, 배란동기화 처리기술 등이 육우 및 유우에서 개발되어 사용되어지고 있으며, 이러한 기술을 한우에 접목시키기 위하여 배란동기화 처리시 적정한 인공수정시기를 구명하고자 본 연구를 수행하였다. 배란동기화 처리는 0일째에 GnRH를 1차 투여하고, 7일째에 PGF$_2$alfa를 투여하였으며, 9일째에 GnRH를 2차 투여하였고 이시점에서 20시간후부터 30시간까지 2시간 간격으로 초음파(Sonovet-600. Medison co., Korea)를 이용하여 난소내 난포발달상태를 촬영하였고 이러한 영상을 통해 난포의 배란시점을 검토한 결과, 공시두수 25두중 24~26시간에 4%(1/25), 26~28시간에 8%(2/25), 28~30시간에 48%(12/25), 30시간 이후에 8%(2/25)가 배란되었고, 계통별 1회 수정 수태율은 고급육계통이 48.1%(38/79), 다유계통이 43.9%(51/91)로 나타났으며, 계절별 1회 수정 수태율은 봄, 여름, 가을 별로 각각 45.8%, 33% 그리고 47.3%로 가을철이 다소 높은 경향이었다.

  • 대본 연습을 하는데 배우들은 딴은 시간과 공간의 제약을 받는다. 또한 연습 도중에 대본의 내용을 수정하려면 모든 배우의 대본을 수정해야 하는 문제점이 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 웹 기반의 다자간 대본 연습 시스템을 구현한다. 이 시스템은 사용자가 웹에서 직접 XML 기반의 대본을 작성 편집할 수 있어 모든 배우의 대본을 수정할 필요가 없도록 해준다. 또한 데이터 동기화, 시간 공간 동기화, 이벤트 동기화 기법을 적용하여 여러 사용자가 통시에 연습할 수 있고, 웹 기반이므로 기준에 대본 연습에 따른 제한적인 시간과 공간의 문제를 해결할 수 있는 장점이 있다.

Improving the Reliability of Beacon Synchronization of IEEE 802.15.4 MAC Protocol using a Reception Time Compensation Scheme (수신 대기시간 보정을 통한 IEEE 802.15.4 MAC 프로토콜의 비컨 동기화 신뢰성 개선)

  • This paper explores the reliability issue especially associated with the time-division synchronous communication when a networking stack is implemented using software timers provided by embedded operating systems. Especially, we explore the reliability of beacon synchronization of IEEE 802.15.4. Our experiments based on its practical implementation clearly show that processing delays or losses of hardware timer interrupts used for software timers lead to occasional failures in beacon synchronization. To avoid such failures, we suggest a reception time compensation scheme that turns on the receiver earlier than expected.

  • Multimedia synchronization model for distributed, continuous or discrete media that was guaranteed high quality of service is requited in developing multimedia application software. In this paper we have specific object controller which is called dynamic key media that is changed by user event generation. This becomes media whose event occurrence and periods can't be predicted. For event occurrence not only audio but also text and image can be chosen for key media and performs its role. Object controller transfers information for next transition. The proposed model offers high qualify of services by permitting maximum allowed jitter and skew in playout time and verified its effectiveness by simulation.

  • In the distributed multimedia document system, media objects distributed over a computer network are retrieved from their sources and presented to users according to specified temporal relations. For effective presentation, synchronization has to be supported. Furthermore, since the presentation in the distributed environment is influenced by the network bandwidth and delay, they should be considered for synchronization. This paper proposes a distributed multimedia presentation system that performs presentation effectively in the distributed environment. And it also suggests a method to supports synchronization, in which, network situation and resources are monitored when media objects are transferred from servers to a client. Then a feedback message for the change of them is sent to the server so that the server might adjust the data sending rate to control synchronization. To monitor the situation of network, we use two methods together. One is to manage the level of the buffer by setting thresholds on a buffer and the other is to check the difference between the sending time of a packet from the server and the arrival time of the packet to the client.

  • Smart electronics are now widely used in everyday life, but the size of the screen of such devices is still too small to fully enjoy multimedia content. Therefore, if the display is comprised of multiple views produced by multiple smart devices, then the screen output size can increase. However, a time delay between the devices can generate a discordance in the video and sound. This paper compares two synchronization techniques that can be used to minimize such a time delay, and proposes a synchronization technique in which, the timing of the screen for each device is calculated by synchronizing the playback time, using the timing information transferred from the control device, and periodically adjusting the playback timing forward or backward. When multimedia content is reproduced using multiple views from multiple smart devices, we can minimize the time delay, regardless of the network quality or the differences in the devices used for this technique.

  • Wireless sensor network is the system for data collection and data process between many nodes. For this work, Synchronization of operation execution and ordering many events are needed. Reference the external time information is the most accurate way to have same time information for all nodes but it's hard to apply these to sensor network. So there are many study of time synchronization there are many error occurred when the time synchronization is executed in the sensor network and minimizing these errors is important. In this paper, we propose how to minimize errors using several time stamp information exchanging when the network is initialized. When the big difference is occurred between receive time and send time in the node communication(cause of traffic overhead and etc), it shows big error of time correction and transfer delay time. but it's hard to detect these errors when it exchanges time stamp information just one time. so we try to reduce these errors using the median value of transfer delay and time correction value with many times of time stamp information exchange.
